This is the only location I know of in Southern California. And as we head over towards Vegas, I make it a point to stop here either on my way up there or at least coming back down. I really love their fries. And the prices are fair. I would say it's equivalent to the pricing of an In-N-Out Burger. I have nothing bad to say about this place and unlike In-N-Out they have on onion rings. They have an app, I don't know how good the loyalty rewards are. But it's free so give it a try. read more

To be honest, the 4 stars is ONLY because the service is phenomenal here and the milkshakes were great. However, the flavor of the burgers was just not there and it was disappointing. This is the first time trying steak and shake and I enjoyed it. The inside looks like a 50s diner, the service was great and the food was good. The prices were fair for a double burger combo meal. The strawberry shake was the best I ever tasted it was light and creamy and didn't taste like chemicals. I like that they cook with beef tallow instead of seed oils. Drive thru was great! All servers were very courteous and informative of what I would expect next. The sour dough burger thick and juicy, the fries were thinly cut and done to perfection. We walked in because we wanted to have something other than McDonald's or Chick Fil A (both neighboring restaurants). First thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. My son needed to use the restroom and that too was immaculate. Seems odd but that goes a long way for me. We were then greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff. We have visited Steak 'N Shake a long time ago. They used to have amazing crispy shoestring fries. My eldest daughter and I were here today so looking forward to the same amazing crispy shoestring fries. We went through drive-thru. Staff was friendly and nice. Unfortunately, things have changed. Today's fries were shoestring, but they were not amazing and not crispy... instead they were oily, wimpy, and most were almost uncooked. They were either refried or their fryer had old oil, hence, the fries couldn't get crispy. One good thing was the huge portion of fries, but what good is it if the fries aren't desirable to eat. We were very very disappointed at today's fries. Not sure what happened to their foods. We didn't order anything else besides the fries... probably a good thing. We stopped here to use a $25 gift card. Unfortunately, Steak 'n Shake was closed down in Temecula located by Pechanga Casino. We really enjoyed their steak burgers and shoe string fries. It's nice to know they have other locations like this one. As we entered we were nicely greeted by the young lad at the counter, who asked if we were dining in or ordering to go. We told her we were dining in and she showed us to a table, gave us the menus, and told us to come up to the register to order. So no table service, which is fine. This particular location went above and beyond for me when my glasses broke and they brought tape for me to put them back together. This place has been our pit stop from Barstow has always been great. With a wide selection of shakes for whatever your taste buds are asking for. My kids enjoy the m&m shake and cookies n cream. Which they enjoyed very much. I personally pick the snickers shake which is always a hit to my cravings. The smash burgers and fries are also very tasteful and delicious. The customer service is always very welcoming and appreciates the help. We were in the area, and wanted to try this place since this is the closest location to us. It was an interesting experience. Maybe because of Covid, the dining area is open to sit in, but everything was packed in a to go container. You can find your own seat and get a menu, look over them, and then place the order on the counter. We ordered the jalapeño crunch steak burger, patty melt, peanut butter milkshake, onion rings, fries, and root beer. Being it our first time, we didnt know what to expect, but we both agreed that the food was rather bland and yet super greasy. The jalapeno crunch was generous with the jalapeno, but the patty melt was just cheesy and there was no taste on the meat. Between the onion rings and french fries, go for the fries!
