This is my favorite dumpling place around Houston. The restaurant's design is very generic, it would be great if they redesigned to give more of an authentic Chinese dumpling shop. This restaurant opened May 16, 2024. I knew about it because one of my students saw the sign of it coming soon. I did go the first day, and was so happy to see a real nice Chinese restaurant in my area of Richmond. The staff were very friendly and it looked really nice and clean. I ordered Dan Dan Noodles and Wide Hand Pulled Noodles. Both were very very good. The portions were very generous. I ordered to go because the better half was away until later that day. The only problem is their location. It's in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, but it can only be seen from Hwy 99, not Fry Rd. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Interior was kinda small and busy for lunch on Saturday...or Sunday ...but we got seated right away. We ordered the green beans, xiao long bao, the strawberry tea (waaaaay too sweet!!), and an assortment of dumplings and the hand pulled noodles. The hand pulled noodles were extremely long and thick. I liked the flavor but it needs to be cut shorted and I prefer it not so thick. The dumplings were good. My daughter loves xiao long baos but wasn't impressed with these-- not enough broth inside. For some reason, Katy has a ton of soup dumpling places. Tried out steam, thought their pork soup dumplings were so so, a bit thick and chewy for me. Didnt not enjoy their beef noodle soup at all. The best things were the scallion pancake and beef roll. prices seemed a bit on the steep side. Place was ok, worth a visit if you live near by, but I just like Loves dumpling better. read more

We had the soup dumplings, honey walnut shrimp, and the pepper steak dishes. Everything was very good! You could tell the food here was going to be awesome as they were very crowded for a random weekday lunch. Most of their tables were full and there were lots of people picking up take out orders. The soup dumplings were delicious and came out nice and hot. These were some of the best that we had in the area! The shrimp were so good, too! They were really big, juicy, and well coated in the white sauce. The pepper steak dish tasted like the Vietnamese dish, bo luc lac, and was very good too. Each of these two dishes came with a bowl of rice. We had plenty to eat between two people and had leftovers. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. read more

Finally, a place with legit xiao long bao. The dough is thin, the broth is balanced and flavorful, and it's freshly made by the dumplings chefs you'll see behind the counter. My husband and toddler loved it. My toddler was very intrigued by the chefs making the dumplings and when we went to take her to peak over the bar counter, one of the guys gave her a small piece of dough and she was so happy she played with it throughout our dining service. Speaking of service, the service was very appeasing and I could tell they were trying really hard to make sure we were satisfied as customers. We also ordered spicy beef noodle soup and braised pork & eggs rice bowl. All were delicious! Seriously, so happy to find a place that meets our standards on Jiangnan cuisine. read more

When I saw this place was going in I got really excited because I love dumplings. I have been to this restaurant (eat in) twice and ordered take out twice. The dumplings are good but kinda small, or maybe just not enough for the price. Dine in service was friendly but not trained but it was when they first opened so I give them a pass on that. The place was immaculately clean and a nice atmosphere. The reason for not giving 5 stars came down to value. I ordered the xiao long bao dumplings and fried rice and it was about $30.00 with tax. It seemed like a lot of money for the amount of food. The dumplings were okay, but for a place with dumpling in the name of the restaurant, I expected better. I hope you will try it and form your own opinion but this will be an occasional dining experience for me as opposed to one of my go to places, which makes me a bit sad since it is literally three minutes from my home. read more

My wife and I enjoy every flavorful foods and trying lots of variations. On this visit as it being our first we wanted to try a lot of different items. We started off with egg rolls (very mild and no sauce), beef and onion dumplings (very nice flavor and good dipping sauce). Next we moved onto beef chow mein (almost no flavor), chicken fried rice (not fried and very plain), and beef pancake (like a beef roll and very nice fresh flavoring). I would hope there was more flavor and sauce. The items marked as spicy had no spice. Hope we were there on a bad day and someone forgot to add the seasoning and sauce to our dishes. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and it was packed!!! Had the xhlon bow, pork and cabbage pan fried dumplings and house special fried rice....id post pictures but we ate it all! Its steam dumplings are pretty good too - shrimp and pork is my favorite (if you like Chinese Chives) and chicken with corn is pretty good. Katy finally has a good dumpling place to my standards of Asian food. This place just open must try, soup dumplings are so juicy and delicious. The most important part of Asian dumplings are all about the skin, they make it so thin that is perfect for every bit. The glass noodles are so tasty but the beef tendon needs more work. read more

Everything I ordered was delicious. The honey, walnut shrimp was out of this world, however, it had no walnuts. The shrimp were huge and delicious. The staff were all very friendly. I only wish that their menu had more entrée items particularly of seafood. read more

Personally LOVE their food, the soup dumplings are a 10/10 the spicy noodles 10/1000000. My issue lies with the staff, I went in and ordered lunch with my child and husband. Ordered 2 orders of soup dumplings and some sodas, no issues. Food gets delivered, again, no issues. Accept they didn't bring us the other food we ordered, we waited, we ate, we didn't complain. It's not busy, more waiting. Finally when we are done with the food they brought the server came up, asked if we needed more of anything and I asked about the food we ordered. She cut me off and showed me her tablet that showed we ordered what we got, I explained they didn't hear my husband ask for something and she snapped at me asking if I got what was on the screen, I said yes but you didn't hear what else we ordered. She said she would get what we wanted a solid hour after our food was dropped. I love this place and their food, I was so disappointed on how I was treated today and I won't be back. The servers were trying very hard, but the chicken wings were served and then the wait was long for the dumplings. Super yummy and authentic! I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the eggplant, green beans (my favorite Chinese food), spicy beef noodle soup, and house juicy pork bun. The eggplant has a crispy skin and soft inside. Great flavor. For the green beans it's really hit or miss since some restaurants don't know how to properly fry it but this one is crispy and tastes good!! The spicy beef noodle soup has awesome flavor not too spicy and noodles are al-dente. The pork buns are delicioussss I love how soft the bun is and the sauce is yummy. I usually don't try new restaurants but my mom brought me here and I can say that I'll be back :) read more

The beef noodles are really good. Xiao Long Bao and pan-fried dumplings excellent. While the skin of the XLB can be a little thinner, it goes very well with the sauce they provide. If you're good with spicy, get the crystal noodle appetizer, very flavorful. read more
