We finally have a place for dumplings. I couldn't wait to try this new place in Katy. We started with vegetable spring rolls and they came out super fast and hot. They were so good and fresh. We absolutely loved them. They are very full and packed with vegetables. Highly recommend them. The pork soup dumplings were so good, we couldn't eat them fast enough. The broth of the soup is super tasty. Don't miss this dish! The chicken friend rice was very flavorful and not your typical fried rice. The chicken pieces were huge and fresh. You could taste the egg and butter flavor throughout the rice. It came out super fast and hot. We really liked it. A little too much onion but still very good. We then tried the vegetable fried dumplings. They were very good but I would next time do the steamed. The crispy outside was a little odd but different. It's not the usual fried dumplings you are used to. The inside was very tasty but the fried outer part was different. My only complaint is the prices. I think if they were a little more comparable to other places, you would want to try more of their dishes. It's a small place and not fancy but the prices are more of a fancy resistant. I would definitely recommend trying it but just know it isn't cheap. I would go back but I would try other items. It's definitely worth the try.

TBH, we came here to try the soup dumplings and they weren't bad, but just not as good as other places. I was craving beef roll pancakes but these were aight, and the chinese burger was also aight, i didn't want to finish it. Perhaps we should've ordered more dumplings instead of the pancakes and the burger, but they looked appetizing in the pictures and we've been wanting to find a good place with those beef roll pancakes and wanted to try something new with the burger. Both were a slight disappointment. Service was good and fast though.

Unfortunately the soup dumplings (1/5) are no longer good here. They must have changed chefs or something but the last 3 times we've been, the xlb have gotten progressively worse. The most recent experience was the most disappointing as when we received our soup dumplings, they were all busted and flat. Gone are the days of beautifully plump dumplings filled with savory soup. I asked the waitress if something went wrong and she told me it was normal and the soup dumplings always looked like that. I assured her they didn't. We were starving so started eating and I figured if this was the new norm, I wouldn't return anyways, as there's another place nearby with plumper soup dumplings. Finally another waitress came by, took a look, went away and there was some sort of pow-wow with maybe a manager. Then one of waitresses came back, took the dumplings and said they'd give us another one. I appreciated it but we were already starving and having to wait another 15 min wasn't optimal. Second try on soup dumplings was not great either as 1/3 were busted and the rest looked anemic. Anyhow, I take back my claim of best xlb, as I get better results from the frozen grocery store version. Their beef pancake roll is still good though (5/5)

Steam Dumpling serves delicious Chinese food. The scallion pancakes were a great light appetizer. The vegetable chow mein was perfect and the fried rice paired nicely. The most incredible part was my family and I did not feel bloated after we ate! I will definitely be back!

My family and I came here on Saturday around 530 am. We were seated very quickly. The staff was quick and checked on us every once in a while. All of our dumplings were amazing and had soup in it except for two in the actual soup dumpling one which was weird. The green beans can use some work. They actually accidentally gave us the eggplant dish but I think we should had ordered that instead. My favorite was the beef roll pancake. I would like it with a bit more meat but it was still really good. I'm still thinking about it. The place was very clean. Our table and chairs were stable. Parking is free and out front.

Smashburger then dumplings? Yes, please! Very nice waitress, super cute spot with a little outdoor seating, no cover. First time here so trying a variety of dishes, so we tried the cucumber salad, xiao long bao, the mix of the fam dumplings, wide hand, pulled noodles with chili oil and lest we forget, the sesame balls. Everything came out hot and steaming and absolutely delicious. This will definitely be a place that we come back to again and again.! ha ha

We decided to order takeout from Steam Dumpling since the weather was dreary. You can place a pickup or delivery order online. We decided to do pickup, which they said would take 30 minutes but our order was ready in 10 minutes. We ordered the Wontons in Spicy Chili Oil which comes with 10 pieces for $13.99. We also ordered the Steamed Shrimp and Pork Dumplings (10 pieces) for $13.99 and Cheese Wontons (5 pieces) for $5.99. Everything was delicious and chili oil is so spicy that it made me sweat but it was more the seeds/chili flakes in the oil that added the spicy kick. The only drawback for me is they charge you an extra $1 for soy sauce and chili oil and I hate when restaurants charge you more for to go condiments that would be free if I dined in. My husband said the inside of the restaurant was small, like a normal Chinese restaurant but it was okay. Overall, I would order takeout from here again.

A friend in katy recommended this place as her "new favorite dumpling spot" so I knew I had to try! We came here on a Thursday evening and there was plenty of seating. However, 6 year olds must dine at a booth and those were all taken so we had to wait a bit before one opened up. Afterwards the lady came, brought us our waters and promptly took our order. 10 minutes later we were digging into our dinner. We got the pork and cabbage steamed dumplings, corn and chicken dumplings, clear beef noodle soup, and spicy wontons and we loved everything. My favorite was probably the clear beef noodle soup as the broth was light, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Their thinly sliced beef pieces were also tender and delicious. Dumplings were delicious as well. I'd say their dumplings taste more "sophisticated" compared to other dumpling places I've tried in Katy. Wontons were good as well, although the skin was just a tad thick. Overall steam dumpling is another great addition to the growing dumpling scene in katy. Highly recommend!

Went here with my girlfriend after church and this place definitely hit the spot! I've been to some decent dumpling spots, but they were mostly in Chinatown. Outside of Chinatown, it's very hard to find some good tasting, authentic dumplings. This nice little restaurant settled in a shopping center asking 99 Grand Parkway, Steam Dumplings has something for everyone! We ordered three things: the Xiao Long Baka, the Clear Broth Beef Noodle Soup and the Pan Fried Pork and Cabbage Dumplings! We were pleased with what we got, especially the pan fried dumplings! That had to be our favorite, hands down! Great parking, nice staff and waiters, the interior was simple, organized and well kept! I will be back to eat again! They didn't disappoint!!

Ordered the Wide Hand Pulled Noodle, Cucumber Salad and Beef Roll Pancake - all were delicious! Hand pulled noodles or Biang Biang Noodles are my all-time favorite noodle dish and they do them pretty well here. The flavor of the chili oil sauce mixture was well balanced. The cucumber salad was fresh and a nice contrast to the oily carbs I was eating lol. Service was friendly and efficient.

Pleasantly surprised by this dumpling shop in South Katy off Fry Road and 99. The service is very attentive, so I wanted to start out with that. The place isn't too crowded (for now) but still has good traffic for middle of the day. The XLB / Soup Dumplings-- WOW. Everyone says to go to One Dragon, but these are better. You can actually see the soup sloshing around inside the dumpling. They are so juicy, and tasty. Fresh, and you get 10 for $12.99. Definitely enough for 1 person as a meal or 2-3 people to share with other dishes. They welcome family style eating too. I have already been here twice, and enjoyed both my visits. For an appetizer, I had the potato shrimp thing, which looked beautiful, but I thought it needed more seasoning, or a better dipping sauce to give it more flavor. Parking is great, never had a problem.

Delicious food here! The soup dumplings were fresh, thin, and filled with soup. The flavors were very balanced but flavorful. The chili oil wontons had a sichuan oil that was also very flavorful and added some spice. For the green beans we added beef into the dish and everything was great! We also ordered the spicy beef noodle soup (no pic), noodles seemed to be freshly made, beef was very tender and the soup had the perfect kick to it. Will definitely be back!

We absolutely love this place. I love the pork and cabbage fried dumplings, but the sesame rolls I get every single time and I keep trying new things and just haven't been disappointed yet. I definitely suggest trying this place out not only are they friendly and easy to understand, but the food comes out quickly. read more

This is my favorite dumpling place around Houston. The restaurant's design is very generic, it would be great if they redesigned to give more of an authentic Chinese dumpling shop. Anyways, everything is good here from dumplings to wonton, stir fried beef, stir fried green beans, hand pull noodles. We love them all and been here many times. Highly recommend!! Service is good as well. read more

Absolutely love this place! Friendly staff. Great service. Lots of space and very clean. Food is delicious and fresh. Great quality on everything. This restaurant opened May 16, 2024. I knew about it because one of my students saw the sign of it coming soon. I did go the first day, and was so happy to see a real nice Chinese restaurant in my area of Richmond. The staff were very friendly and it looked really nice and clean. I ordered Dan Dan Noodles and Wide Hand Pulled Noodles. Both were very very good. The portions were very generous. I ordered to go because the better half was away until later that day. The only problem is their location. It's in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, but it can only be seen from Hwy 99, not Fry Rd. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I like it a lot! read more

Interior was kinda small and busy for lunch on Saturday...or Sunday ...but we got seated right away. We ordered the green beans, xiao long bao, the strawberry tea (waaaaay too sweet!!), and an assortment of dumplings and the hand pulled noodles. The hand pulled noodles were extremely long and thick. I liked the flavor but it needs to be cut shorted and I prefer it not so thick. The dumplings were good. My daughter loves xiao long baos but wasn't impressed with these-- not enough broth inside. Overall it was ok but we prefer dumpling world in sugar land over this place. read more

For some reason, Katy has a ton of soup dumpling places. Tried out steam, thought their pork soup dumplings were so so, a bit thick and chewy for me. Didnt not enjoy their beef noodle soup at all. The best things were the scallion pancake and beef roll. prices seemed a bit on the steep side. Place was ok, worth a visit if you live near by, but I just like Loves dumpling better. read more

We had the soup dumplings, honey walnut shrimp, and the pepper steak dishes. Everything was very good! You could tell the food here was going to be awesome as they were very crowded for a random weekday lunch. Most of their tables were full and there were lots of people picking up take out orders. The soup dumplings were delicious and came out nice and hot. These were some of the best that we had in the area! The shrimp were so good, too! They were really big, juicy, and well coated in the white sauce. The pepper steak dish tasted like the Vietnamese dish, bo luc lac, and was very good too. Each of these two dishes came with a bowl of rice. We had plenty to eat between two people and had leftovers. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. read more

Finally, a place with legit xiao long bao. The dough is thin, the broth is balanced and flavorful, and it's freshly made by the dumplings chefs you'll see behind the counter. My husband and toddler loved it. My toddler was very intrigued by the chefs making the dumplings and when we went to take her to peak over the bar counter, one of the guys gave her a small piece of dough and she was so happy she played with it throughout our dining service. Speaking of service, the service was very appeasing and I could tell they were trying really hard to make sure we were satisfied as customers. We also ordered spicy beef noodle soup and braised pork & eggs rice bowl. All were delicious! Seriously, so happy to find a place that meets our standards on Jiangnan cuisine. read more

When I saw this place was going in I got really excited because I love dumplings. I have been to this restaurant (eat in) twice and ordered take out twice. The dumplings are good but kinda small, or maybe just not enough for the price. Dine in service was friendly but not trained but it was when they first opened so I give them a pass on that. The place was immaculately clean and a nice atmosphere. The reason for not giving 5 stars came down to value. I ordered the xiao long bao dumplings and fried rice and it was about $30.00 with tax. It seemed like a lot of money for the amount of food. The dumplings were okay, but for a place with dumpling in the name of the restaurant, I expected better. I hope you will try it and form your own opinion but this will be an occasional dining experience for me as opposed to one of my go to places, which makes me a bit sad since it is literally three minutes from my home. read more

I'm a fan. I'd sport a Steam Dumpling hat and shirt to express my love. Kind of went on a whim - but will go back on purpose. Great service. My wife and I enjoy every flavorful foods and trying lots of variations. On this visit as it being our first we wanted to try a lot of different items. We started off with egg rolls (very mild and no sauce), beef and onion dumplings (very nice flavor and good dipping sauce). Next we moved onto beef chow mein (almost no flavor), chicken fried rice (not fried and very plain), and beef pancake (like a beef roll and very nice fresh flavoring). I would hope there was more flavor and sauce. The items marked as spicy had no spice. Hope we were there on a bad day and someone forgot to add the seasoning and sauce to our dishes. read more

This place has been our favorite place for Xiao Long Bao (steam soup dumplings) and pan fried dumplings ever since it opened! Its steam dumplings are pretty good too - shrimp and pork is my favorite (if you like Chinese Chives) and chicken with corn is pretty good. Loves the beef rolls and we have tried several of its noodle dishes (not bad). Friendly and good service. With reasonable price! read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and it was packed!!! Had the xhlon bow, pork and cabbage pan fried dumplings and house special fried rice....id post pictures but we ate it all! Excellent food, great service and a lunch dinner casual ambience. I'll be back soon to try more of their menu! Highly recommend! read more

Katy finally has a good dumpling place to my standards of Asian food. This place just open must try, soup dumplings are so juicy and delicious. The most important part of Asian dumplings are all about the skin, they make it so thin that is perfect for every bit. The glass noodles are so tasty but the beef tendon needs more work. read more

Everything I ordered was delicious. The honey, walnut shrimp was out of this world, however, it had no walnuts. The shrimp were huge and delicious. The staff were all very friendly. I only wish that their menu had more entrée items particularly of seafood. read more

Personally LOVE their food, the soup dumplings are a 10/10 the spicy noodles 10/1000000. My issue lies with the staff, I went in and ordered lunch with my child and husband. Ordered 2 orders of soup dumplings and some sodas, no issues. Food gets delivered, again, no issues. Accept they didn't bring us the other food we ordered, we waited, we ate, we didn't complain. It's not busy, more waiting. Finally when we are done with the food they brought the server came up, asked if we needed more of anything and I asked about the food we ordered. She cut me off and showed me her tablet that showed we ordered what we got, I explained they didn't hear my husband ask for something and she snapped at me asking if I got what was on the screen, I said yes but you didn't hear what else we ordered. She said she would get what we wanted a solid hour after our food was dropped. I love this place and their food, I was so disappointed on how I was treated today and I won't be back. If I could say negative 10 I would. read more

My goodness what a nice find! Never have I ever found a restaurant that made truly delicious scallion pancakes like my grandfather used to make. The soup dumplings were AMAZING and didn't burst so easily like some places. Will be coming back for sure!! read more

Good food and friendly service. Very good dumplings, both steamed and pan fried. The steamed soup dumplings tasted good too, but the wrap is not quite right and breaks open very easily. We also enjoyed the beef noodle soup and scallion pancakes. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu. read more

The food was great! First time trying it today. I definitely am putting this on my list of favorite restaurants! We ordered a number of different dishes to try. Steamed Soup Dumplings (big thumbs up), pan fried veggie dumplings (also big thumbs up), chicken chow menu (huge serving and chicken was great ... had to add some soy sauce and chili oil to spice it up but overall great flavor), beef pancake (with scallions ... ask for dumpling sauce to go with it ... would definitely order that again! We ordered hand pulled wide noodles, soup dumplings, pork and cabbage dumplings, and Kung Pao chicken. Plenty of food for 3 people. All items were served hot and we enjoyed everything. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. We were checked on periodically throughout the meal. This restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood. read more

I had the fried chicken wings and steamed vegetable dumplings The vegetable dumplings were not great. The chicken was very good. The servers were trying very hard, but the chicken wings were served and then the wait was long for the dumplings. The restaurant hadn't been open for business for so perhaps things will improve as they get the kinks ironed out. I wanted to love the dumplings, but didn't. read more

Super yummy and authentic! I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the eggplant, green beans (my favorite Chinese food), spicy beef noodle soup, and house juicy pork bun. The eggplant has a crispy skin and soft inside. Great flavor. For the green beans it's really hit or miss since some restaurants don't know how to properly fry it but this one is crispy and tastes good!! The spicy beef noodle soup has awesome flavor not too spicy and noodles are al-dente. The pork buns are delicioussss I love how soft the bun is and the sauce is yummy. I usually don't try new restaurants but my mom brought me here and I can say that I'll be back :) read more

The chili oil dumplings were delicious. We also got soup dumplings, which I know don't travel well, but we had to have them. I'd go back for the Dan Dan noodles alone, but nothing else screamed out at us.

Malaysian Grilled Chicken Satay - Super tender with a sweet peanut sauce that really accentuated the flavors. Probably my favorite appetizer so far--had to be extra careful around my BF after this! Definitely my brother's personal favorite; I'm sure he ate 3 of them! Hainanese Chicken & Rice - Very tender and chewy with a mild flavor. The ginger-and-scallion sauce at the bottom was very refreshing, and the aromatic rice was among the most delicious I've had! I saw that the grains looked similar to Vietnamese broken rice because they weren't fully rounded. For some reason, this made the texture so much more appealing to me. Curry Chicken Puff - Love the curry flavor of this and the delicacy of the puff pastry. The shell isn't too thick, and the vegetables are very well infused with the curry, making them strong contributors to the overall flavor. Despite it being a pastry, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the carbs--indicating that the breading-to-stuffing ratio of this sat at the perfect pinnacle. Malaysian Roti Canai - One of my absolute favorite dishes here. I would come to this place just for this--the whole table compared the combo to crack. No joke. The chicken and potatoes are some of the most tender pieces in this dish, and you could slurp the broth like it's its own dish. I watched this go way too fast, and even two orders per table were not enough to satisfy the crowd. Malaysian Roti Canai (w. Egg) - Love the original much more, but this was still very delicious. They made the egg very thin, so it didn't overwhelm the roti. The egg took away from my favorite roti taste, but it was so well seasoned I wasn't even that angry about it. Malaysian Char Kuey Teow (Migoreng) - OOH. This has a unique flavor --much more savory than packaged ramen. The texture of the noodles is very inviting. It's much less salty compared to the pre-packaged Migoreng. The flavor was more umami. Rich, deep, and just the perfect amount to coat the noodles. Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetable (w. Tofu) - This is a very saucy vegetable dish, but I didn't mind it at all. I loved it, though it was the last dish I had and I was definitely stuffed by then. The sauce reminds me of a thinner Migoreng sauce--more viscous than a loose sauce, but not as thick as Migoreng. Very good, but my taste buds were definitely overwhelmed by then. Malaysian Milk Tea - Not as sweet as I expected. I was told the tea leaves were imported from Malaysia, and our table ended up ordering six of them. The lingering bitterness in the aftertaste is something I'm very fond of, and the tea flavor is exceptionally rich. The milk infusion in this is exceptional. Malaysian Lime "Calamansi" & Plum Drink - Tasted like a lime-tamarind drink to my BF, while my brother and I thought it tasted like Vietnamese chanh muối. Overall, Uncle Chin's lived up to the hype, just as I knew it would from the day my BF brought home leftover roti from his very first visit. The buzz of having 16 people definitely distracted me from paying close attention to every dish--I even missed taking a few photos--but one thing remained true: everyone was talking about the food. Every time a new dish came out, the table erupted with commentary about its flavor, uniqueness, and overall impact. Some dishes stole the show more than others (my lovely roti, hello), but every single one earned its place on the menu. Very sad we didn't get to see Uncle Chin sing, but with 16 people to serve during the lunch rush, I'm sure he was pretty overwhelmed.

You could actually see how much soup was packed inside--they looked like little jiggly water balloons. The broth was unexpectedly sweet while still being savory, with a very clean flavor. My BF said they were probably some of the best soup dumplings he's ever had, and I'd have to agree--they were pretty top-tier. These came out hot-hot. The wrapper felt a bit drier than other soup dumplings I've had, giving it a mildly chewy aftertaste that I wasn't fond of (I'm very aware of textures), but in terms of flavor, absolutely no complaints. All of these dumplings had a very pronounced pork flavor. I found this one a bit too salty compared to the others, perhaps because the soup dumplings and wontons were balanced by their broth and red oil. Maybe I just needed to dip it in vinegar (someone educate me). I tried it three ways: plain, accidentally in soy sauce, and finally in vinegar. The vinegar definitely mellowed out the saltiness, but this still wasn't my favorite dish. Service was fast and considerate throughout our meal. They refilled our water attentively and checked on us at a meaningful pace without feeling intrusive. I also noticed they didn't play any music here, but somehow the constant buzz of the staff moving around was comforting. The atmosphere felt peaceful and gave off very authentic Chinese vibes. The menu can be a little overwhelming but they do have some popular options for you. I got a recommendation from a friend and tried the red bean jelly milk and it was delicious. I've never had this at any other tea house before. But surprisingly the flavor combinations were great and I loved the rich flavor of the red beans as a drink. The service was quick and there were lots of workers around who were patient in taking our orders. Would definitely get this drink again in the future!

Wanting to give Wanpo the benefit of the doubt, I asked if it could be remade because it was a $8 drink. The worker, whose name I believe is Eric, SNIFFED my drink through the straw and said that it's Sugarcane and gave it back to me.....He then said he wouldn't remake it because it smells like it...Huh..? I walked out in shock because, what? Out of all the boba spots that I have been to, never has anyone smelled my drink. In fact, I used to work at a boba shop and never has it occurred to me to smell a drink and not remake it for a customer. Like, I don't know what methods you use to confirm ingredients but you couldn't even take the drink to the back to smell it? You did it in front of my face? I don't ever ask for drinks to be remade unless it tastes nothing like I ordered, I just go about and let it be but this genuinely appalled me. I go to Wanpo and I enjoy their Mango Sago drink but this experience has led me to never come back because... are you serious?

Great quaint restaurant in Katy. Busy Sunday noon time…read morecrowd. Menu with sandwiches, croissant, cheesecake, cakes, and coffee selections. Almond croissant was delicious Sausage with pickles and tomatoes on toasted bun was surprisingly tasty. We haven't tried the cake yet but next time, I will come when it is less crowded and I have more time to review the menu.

Well, today, I came in the morning to work from here & to give it a try and wow! The place was non-stop busy from 8-1 pm with a line to the door throughout the morning. The breakfast croissants were delicious and unlike anything you have likely tasted before. The pastries were simply phenomenal! Presentation & taste. Service was outstanding. The ladies came around often and the food & drinks came out pretty fast. The space is a bit small for how crowded it gets and it's a bit too loud to work from here if you have to take calls. The outdoor seating spaces are nice, especially on a pretty day, but the tables get filled pretty quickly. Overall, I highly recommend it
