Steamy Lit is an absolute dream for romance readers! From the moment I walked in, I was obsessed. The shop is super cute, thoughtfully laid out, and a really nice size--not cramped at all. Their romance selection is fantastic, with a great variety of tropes and authors, making it easy to find something you'll love (or five things you didn't know you needed). The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, they clearly love books and enjoy helping customers find their next read. I have made it my mission that where ever I visit I will seek out and purchase a book from an indie bookstore. Specifically, woman owned. This shop is cute. It has pink and cozy vibes. Steamy Lit is a cute book store that also has adorable merch and even scented epsom salt. The merch is sweatshirts, t-shirts, caps and totes. The book selection is nice, mostly centered on romance. I saw the variety of romance tropes that romance lovers enjoy. Second chance romance, enemies to lovers, LGBTQ+, sporty romances, etc. The service is cheerful, and helpful. The costs are in-line with what most small bookstores charge. Fair. The con is the parking situation, the tiny parking "lot" in front of the store fit only 3 cars maybe and across the street is a train track that supposedly was ok to park. Follow GPS instructions, the street address is MacDill but it will tell you to turn on Gandy and the shop is right there. read more

Full disclosure: my friend and I discovered this shop on a day they were having an author signing event, so we didn't get to see it in its full glory because we were trying to not be in the way AND had to get out before the ticketed event started. That being said, this small bookstore has a great selection of both books and some pretty great bookish merch. I picked up my new favorite "Romantasy Reader" hat, a nicely padded book sleeve, and a book that keeps being sold out everywhere I look! The staff was courteous and friendly, checking in those for the event while my friend and I were checking out efficiently and communicating with one another when they ran into a small hiccup with not knowing what one of our merch pieces was called in the computer. The one and only downside I saw was that as we were checking out, someone in a wheelchair came to the store for the event and had a really hard time on the ramp and the door's threshold- she kept sliding down the ramp due to the slickness of it after recent rain (the ramp had no grip tape spots, so could be a slip hazard anyway) and the threshold was so high but porch so small that she needed to get momentum to get over the threshold but didn't have space to do so. While I don't need accessibility yet, it was a good reminder that sometimes it's worth looking at. The parking area around the store was also pretty rocky and difficult for her to navigate, but most of it was the road which would fall under the jurisdiction of the City, not this store, but still, room for improvement is worth noting. Overall, can't wait to revisit this lovely spot on my next trip in town, and hopefully not when it has an event so I can browse a little better and see their "normal" flow. read more

Although I did not catch the employees name while we were there , she was amazing, she helped up with everything while we were there. We got there around 11/11:15 on 1/18/26 and she greeted us right away. She walked us through how the store was set up and held great conversation. The books selections were wonderful and of a wide variety of romance ! Just what we were looking for ! TikTok brought us here and did not disappoint ! Would not recommend online orders. It seems they have a very good in person presence, but after my online purchase will not be purchasing from them again. Shame on me for not reading the policies before ordering. Three week processing time for and online order is just absurd to me. On top of that taking five days to respond to an email is also absurd and a terrible way to do business in my opinion, but they're out here being successful and living the dream, so what so I really know. All I can say is this shop and experience was not for me or what I expected. I won't be back once this order is complete now that I have read the stores policies. read more

I got so lucky finding a book release party for the new Onyx Storm book apart of the forth wing series. I had been wanting to visit Steamy Lit since they opened and I finally got my chance. I purchased tickets online for this event they were hosting and waited till the 20th. When the time came I got there and there parking situation was limited so I did have to park a bit away but not terrible. We all waiting in line to check in and was welcomed to the event and received wrist bands. They had dragon themed coloring pages, bracelet making and they also provided some delicious drinks and cupcakes with the book cover on the top. Super cute! While we were all waiting for the book release to drop at 12am We got to play some rounds of bingo and meet other people in the Tampa book community which was nice. The store is super cute and I love the selection of books and merch they had. It was a good time I will definitely be back again:) read more

I'm an avid read but new to the romance genre. I've been seeing Steamy Lit all over instagram and had to check it out. The shop is small, but they have a nice selection of books. It was well organized, especially for someone new to the genre like me, I felt it was easy to narrow my search. They have a section of exclusives to their store which I thought was really fun. There are also some bookish gifts and accessories such as candles and stickers. The staff was very welcoming but also gave you space to brows. It's been a minute but I have a new episode of Besties, Beverages, & Bookstores for you. Today we are taking a quick trip up to the BRAND NEW (romance only) Steamy Lit in Tampa! This place is truly a one stop shop if you are in need of a fun book, or even a cute gift! They are paired up with Procure which features ALL locally sourced items that range from bath salts, to coffee/tea, to (gorgeous) prints, to jewelry. Many of these items are from women owned companies too. But back to the bookstore! Although with a huge variety of romance books, they also have some uber cute merch (hats, totes, stickers). Now when I say huge variety of books I mean HUGE. I was truly impressed with all I saw. A great LGBTQ section, YA section, Contemporary, & Dark Romance (which you know I bee lined to!). But also upon closer inspection, I loved that it appeared to have many different cultures represented too. I found a super fun series where the main characters were from India. In all of my bookstore visits, this was a very welcomed first! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that literally EVERYONE is able to find a romance for themselves here!! Have a hard time deciding ? Simply pick up one of their Blind Date With A Book books. If you're feeling parched, they have a cooler with drinks and snacks available for purchase too.
