Awesome experience. Matt, the bartender rolled out the red carpet for our group, majority of which were kids, showing them a great time. He asked them to tell him "when to stop" when putting whipped cream on their hot chocolate, which they loved having a say in. He pulled out a small basket with small toys, and said they could each grab a few which kept them occupied. I asked my son if he liked this place and he said he loved it, and hoped we could go back (we then talked about how smart it is for businesses to win over the kids so the entire family wants to return the next time). We enjoyed the music selection, and ate a couple chicken sandwiches, wings and pizza. Good bar food, that only took 10-15 minutes to make after ordering on a busy-ish Saturday night. Bottom line, it's always great seeing warm, welcoming, hospitable service. Unfortunately, not many places make it a priority anymore and I'm happy to report that Matt and the rest of the team at Steep, are a fantastic crew and you'll want to go there after a fun day skiing Keystone. read more

Steep is our favorite place in Keystone for tasty coffee and good beer. The service is great for mountain service and prices are very fair for the mountains. We typically visit the main location, but occasionally stop in to the outpost in the village. We stop in multiple times every time we are in town. read more

Not impressed. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and it was definitely a frozen chicken patty that was warmed up on top of a frozen waffle. I ordered a chicken breakfast burrito. It contained the same frozen chicken patty drowned in their home made sauce. Coffee was good though. read more

I was in town the other weekend for a ski trip and we stumbled upon this amazing coffee shop and brewery. The hot coffee was freshly brewed and the cold brew was well perfectly made. I had an americano the last day and it was probably my favorite of the three, but they were all great! The espresso beans had a rich,strong flavor that gave me the jolt to life I was looking for. I did not get to try any of the beer on tap, but I can tell you that plenty of other people in the shop were drinking it, so that's a good enough sign for me! The food offerings also sounded delicious, but due to already having my meals planned out, I stuck with my coffee order each time I stopped by. The baristas/all the employees were very nice and down to earth. This is the sort of place that I would regularly frequent if I lived in the area. We shared a pretzel and flight of beers. In the flight were 3 from Steep and one guest tap. The guest tap was the best. One of the 3 Steep beers (supposed to be a session IPA) was undrinkable. The others were average. The pretzel was a little stale and had cold / frozen spots throughout. I grabbed a cold brew coffee to go, it tasted good. Not much nitro. The best thing at Steep was the people. Service was good and staff super friendly. I'll try breakfast next time. read more

Coffee - NA (close down machine at 11a, doesn't re-open) Food - Pizza 6/10, pretzel 7/10, chicken tortilla soup 4/10 Beer - ginger spiced 9/10, IPA 7/10 Ambience - Dinner 8/10 had live music (super loud but cool) Service - 2/10 - slow, dirty tables, no servers and food is in the other side of the bar, so with a crowded space it's difficult to traverse to bring your own food, whereas they could easily pass with it behind the counter. They closed breakfast when it was our turn to order and it wasn't even 11a yet. Would not recommend. read more

We got there about thirty minutes before the event ended and they were out of food and unwilling to put more out for the event attendees. Coffee here is pretty good. We had a dark chocolate mocha, Carmel latte and an Irish coffee. Mocha and latte were perfect temp and tasty. I am a MONSTER before coffee. I'm also a coffee snob. I understand this makes me sound incredibly annoying and pretentious but I'm telling you this for a reason - when it comes to good coffee, you can trust me because it's my life blood. This coffee is stupid good. The kind of good where you take your first sip and the weight of the world just lifts right off. It's possible I got goosebumps the first time. The coffee at Steep is so good that I know, come snow season, I'm going to be waiting in a 45 minute line to get my fix and it's so dang good I'd be happy waiting an hour. They roast their beans on premises, and you can smell it a mile away. Seriously, we could smell the beans and their homemade chai all the way from our condo on the lake. It's pure magic. They also brew their own beer, but I haven't tried it yet to speak on it. The interior is awesome and fits right into Keystone, and the staff that we've met and interacted with are next level awesome. We chatted with one of the roasters yesterday and he took time out of his busy morning to bag us up a fresh bag of beans that wasn't being sold at the time because we said it smelled so good. We also had some scones and breakfast burritos - everything they're pumping out here is just SOLID. It immediately has become one of our spots, and we can't wait to come back. For folks who live in town or visit and have to work, it's also the perfect spot to plug in your laptop and work through the morning. You can tell they put thought into the soundproofing here, because it has that perfect low chatter sound that is comforting, not obstructing. The owners have really created something special here, and we couldn't be more excited. Love this place!!! If you are looking for a place to get drinks, food, and coffee pre- or post slope days look no further! It is very close to the resort and actually right below where we stayed, Gateway Lodge. The chili, jalapeño pretzel and chicken screwers were delicious! I could eat this every day after I ski. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the beers and ciders as well. Perfect meal and drinks after skiing all day! The staff were very friendly and gave us great service. They even gave us recommendations for skiing the north and south bowl. We actually went here the next morning for coffee as well and the coffee didn't disappoint. Very delicious food, a little understaffed so we had to keep asking for things like silverware and the cream cheese that we had to pay extra for. We were also disappointed that the coffee flights that the website advertised was nonexistent. The server had never heard of it. We enjoyed our food just wished for better service. Fun place, friendly vibe. Wait staff is helpful and efficient. A few reasons why I won't give five stars: Like everything else, prices are out of sight. I paid almost $8 for a large cold brew, with large being 16 oz. (most places the largest size is 20 or 24). After being told there was no more breakfast food (muffins, croissants, egg sandwiches) because it was afternoon, it was suggested that I order the "cheesy bread," which sounded like the "cheese toast" I make at home, so imagine my surprise when I got what was essentially a pizza with no tomato. That, and an 8 oz. cappuccino was over $30 with a tip. I wanted coffee and the equivalent of a croissant or muffin. A little more transparency might have helped. That said, I did have quite a bit leftover, and my girlfriend had it for a late snack. On the plus side, they had live music on Sunday, which was closing day. Nice mix of tunes. read more
