The favorites of the night: pesto chicken sandwich, and pulled pork sandwich. Everyone enjoyed the fries, both potato and sweet potato. I've been a huge fan of Great Notion beers for many years and today was my first time visiting the…read moretaproom in Portland. The taproom is located in an industrial area and shares a space with Pizza Thief. Parking is plentiful and on the Thursday afternoon that I stopped by, the taproom was pretty empty. Happy hour is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and you're able to get $3 off of select pints. I opted for the Northleft, a hazy IPA and for $4, it can't be beat. This particular hazy had great texture and the hops really pack a punch. If you're not familiar with Great Notion beers, they also have a bunch of delicious sours and "smoothies" that are otherwise very difficult to find from other breweries. It's a true art and only talented brew masters are able to create beers this tasty. If you have an opportunity to head towards this part of town, I highly recommend checking out Great Notion. If you're working remotely, they also have guest WiFi you can connect to to get some work done with beer in hand.

If I'm being honest, I don't come here for food because they mostly have pizza I believe and for my money their are better places to grab a slice. Unfortunately it was way too loud in the back room to enjoy the music, and there was a rowdy FIFA game on, so we headed out pretty quickly. Second visit, we came back on Sunday night for dinner. The vibe was significantly more laid back. We were able to sit in the booths in their main bar area and enjoy pizzas and a sandwich. Across both visits, service was consistently good, the food was solid and satisfying, and the beer was excellent. It's great neighborhood taproom with a fun energy. Just know what you're walking into depending on the night's entertainment!

Phone ordering is fine - sometimes it's easier if you're not in a rush to order and then at some point your order will come. They do have a great deal, which is $15 for a cheese burger and a pint. Their white tea ale right now is great. Food was meh to pretty great, depending on the dish. I'd skip the fried tofu and chicken wrap but stick with the burgers and pretzels. Overall I prefer the Beaverton location with the food carts.
