One star short of 5. Food was really good, our drinks were great and our server (Jackson?) was great. My problem is the floor was not clean! I had been to a meeting there in the morning and saw the chairs were dirty and even a whole tot on the floor! The floor needs a GOOD vacuuming and not the half hearted carpet sweeper. Because the food cooking smelled good, when HH (hungry hubby) wanted to go out later that day I suggested. We really like our orders. I had (2) Pink Lady drinks and it was yummy. HH had the Harland twice. My suggestion is VACUUM the floors and get into the groves of the chairs. My last suggestion is forget the cloth napkin wrapped serving ware on every table, bring them to the table when needed. read more

I stopped by after a friend's funeral. Jesse was a great listening ear at the bar. He let me know the restaurant rolled out a new drink menu today. I chose the Pink Lady from that menu in honor of my friend, Heather, who had died. It's a not too sweet pineapple-ish pink refreshing beverage that Elle Woods herself would approve of. With all the tvs, it's a great place to watch a sports event, as evidenced by the groups watching the World Cup. All in all a great place to be whether celebrating an event or remembering an old friend. read more

Clean restaurant and great location. Friendly host when we entered. There was no wait to be sat. Great service- our waitress was super nice and helpful with our choices. The salads were great. The cheesy bread was delicious. The pizza had lots of cheese and toppings. Good sizes. We had one with wheat crust and one with white. We just weren't into the heaviness of the dough. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. I was a first time customer and ordered a bunch of food. When I came to pick up the food, the bartender was so ignorant to me. I have no idea why. Then I realized I had a FREEDOM Charlie Kirk shirt on and knew this was the problem. He literally threw my food on the bar and walked away. I confronted him asking what was the problem. He ignored me at first and I was persistent. I asked him if it was my shirt and he threw his hands up. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. I've never left a review before, but the service was THAT bad. Food was fine, trivia was great. Drinks took about 15 minutes to get to the table throughout the night. Someone at our table asked for ranch with our appetizer and our server forgot after being reminded, until we were done with the app, then he asked if we still wanted it... No, the food was literally gone. We didn't want to drink it. He also brought appetizer plates then, which we asked for when the appetizer got to our table. I ordered a pizza with canadian bacon and mushrooms, not good. My order said it was suppose to be ready for pick up at 5:02, I got there at 4:55, my pizza and wings were sitting on the counter already. When I got home to eat it at 5:00PM (only a mile away) the pizza was cold and terrible. I also ordered Buffalo wings, I don't know what those were, but sure not Buffalo. As someone else said before, I did not want to leave this as a public review, but there was no contact information on their website. We ate at Stefano's tonight (a Friday night) and the place was not super busy. We were seated right away. The host was efficient but not overly friendly, which was fine. We were seated and our server was over fairly quickly to take our drink order. Our drinks were brought out quickly (no straws, but that's fine) and we ordered cheesy bread. Our order was taken 10-15 minutes after we ordered the cheesy bread, right before it was brought out which made the whole experience take longer than it should have. Also, no plates were bought out for four people sharing an appetizer. We had to wait for someone to pass by to ask for plates. The cheesy bread was excellent. The food took quite a while, which we are used to because we have been here before. No one ever took our menus or the dirty dishes after the appetizer so they just sat on the table the whole meal. Only two of the four drinks were ever refilled for the entire meal. When our food was brought out one of the pizzas was wrong; our order was never repeated back to us so we had no way of knowing. We asked them to remake it and of course everyone else was done eating by the time it came out so we had it boxed up; actually it was taking so long we asked them to box it before they brought it out. There was no apology, a manager never came over to talk to us, no discount, nothing. We were there for almost two hours. I hate not leaving a tip, but the service was so bad we did not leave one. I love their wheat crust pizza, that's why we've put up with the bad service in the past, but we will probably not be back to this location. read more

The service is always so good. Great servers. The chicken wings are always fairly good. However, I've ordered the pizza several times now. I always request very done. They are fine. But certainly not very done. And on the verge on not quite hot. Just warm in the middle. The crust is fine. But. You know. I like a pizza that is browned on the top...and at least hot. I've been here twice and the first time just like most comments on here the pizza is horrible. Under cooked by all measures. Dough is super doughy and uncooked making everything else just warm. They put way too much much cheese to begin with and I was done for. The 2nd time I ordered the same pizza, well done and light on the cheese and it still came out under cooked. It's a shame because it's at a great location but just the pizza is horrible! The wings are very good but other than that I wouldn't order anything else. The service was okay, not once they asked how the pizza was when I only had one slice and the rest was just sitting there. Managers should go around tables to ask their guest how are things. The last time I was at a Stefano's was well over 20 years ago at the Cumberland location when it was still around. Always very fond memories of the pizza. Visited the Hardin Valley location this past week for trivia night while in town visiting friends. I would definitely recommend visiting for Sunday night trivia. A lot of fun. The pizza was not exactly as I remembered but it was really good. There is a 1/2 price bottled wine special that was a hit with the group. I wanted a cocktail, however, and ordered something very basic and it was a disappointment. Ordered my cocktail "up" (no ice, which a bartender should know) and it came over ice. Had to send it back. It was also just not mixed properly. I drank it anyway and just adjusted my expectations. I'd recommend sticking to beer or wine. Our table service was sufficient but not efficient. More frequent check ins on a larger group would have been preferred. I'd still go back for trivia and just stick with pizza and a beer. Keep it simple here. read more

I have been a patron of Stefanos ever since they opened the Cumberland Avenue location. The pizza has always been prepared with the ingredients placed under the cheese. For some unknown reason, they have a pizza cook at the Hardin Valley location that places the ingredients on top of the cheese. This has happened twice on two separate occasions. I most always order a Canadian Bacon and mushroom pizza. Typically, and most of the times I have been to Stefanos, the ingredients are under the cheese. But on two separate occasions, this one cook puts the ingredients on top of the cheese. So what you end up with is one slice of pizza equals one piece of Canadian Bacon. This is unacceptable. Future visits to Stefanos will most definitely result in me walking my ass out of the Hardin Valley location if the cook is cooking my potential order. read more

Been a fan of their whole wheat crust and tasty pizzas for decades. Met some friends at Hardin Valley for trivia tonight, great food, great service by our wait staff. However, management and bar staff seem a little bit too "yee-haw". Clearly more interested in creating drama with their "regulars" than running a serious restaurant. It's truly amateur hour with these poor excuses for restaurant staff. It's kind of depressing to realize that as soon as a great restaurant opens anywhere but downtown or the main west knox drags, they inevitably get staffed with ignorant hillbillies. For these jokers, the entire business is about their buddies drinking at the bar. They can do so much better, just clean house and hire some professionals rather than the local yokels there now. Some months ago we decided to stay away from Stefano's because the staff were so cold and unfriendly and inefficient. Someone did a wonderful job with the interior, the bar, the kitchen seems state of the art. So why would you hire and put up with staff that is so unfriendly, unaccommodating aloof. There was a little change in personnel but it seems the replacements are just unfriendly. Just makes no sense. The only smile we go during our short stay was from the hostess on the way in and out. The rest acted like we were just a nuisance and they would deliver what we ordered and that was all they would do. We may go back in a few months just to see. Probably not. read more

This place is awesome! The best pizza in Knoxville by far. I had the MEATZARIA with white sauce. It had lots of fresh toppings. The cheese was amazing. The sauce was perfect. The flavors were balanced. The crust had a light crunch on the bottom and bread like the rest of the way through. My wife had LAZY "K" BAR-B-Q. Lots of pork on it. The sauce is sweet bbq. It was great. The CHEESY BREAD has lots of cheese. The cheese is fresh. Everything was served in cast iron pans. The mix drinks are not some premix you buy somewhere. They were great. Great place if you like beard hair in your food. Amazing that they don't require beard nets. There was hair all over our cheese bread. I was completely put off, and I looked into the kitchen and saw that pretty much the ENTIRE kitchen staff were men with beards, and no beard nets. I'm surprised there wasn't hair sprinkled in a pile on top of our pizza as a garnish. Not to mention how awful the wait was. We arrived there at around 5 ish and it wasn't all that busy and ended up leaving around 6:40. Other tables around us that had arrived after we did were getting their food before us. When our food finally came after literally an hour it was completely cold. I will say I felt bad for the lady that seemed to be single-handedly waiting all the tables.
