Still the only local place we've found that truly comes close to Chicago pizza. We came in late afternoon on a Thursday with our family of five and waited quite awhile to be greeted at the counter. The space is cozy with about 4, 4-tops, a few outdoor tables, and a bar along the wall with stools in case you come in for a slice and soda deal at lunch time. We ordered breadsticks, a salad, a thin crust with pepperoni, and a stuffed pizza with sausage. They told us that we couldn't order the thin crust with half no cheese (for our lactose intolerant kiddo who still loves sauce, crust and toppings), as a heads up to anyone with similar dietary restrictions. This is due to the cook time being inconsistent for the cheese versus no cheese sides of the pie. We were asked if we were dining in or ordering to go. We opted to eat there since we live a decent distance away. Our breadsticks and house salad came out first, packed for transport and no plates or silverware were provided. They seemed confused and a bit annoyed when we asked for some. The breadsticks tasted like butter and parm doused funnel cake fries and the salad was fine...served its purpose but nothing special. Our thin crust came out next and was fresh and fabulous. My husband felt like it was a bit more overcooked than when we previously got it. Tons of cheese, slightly sweet sauce and crispy pepperoni. It is cut into squares. Lastly, our stuffed pizza came out. Again, no pie server given and we needed one desperately for the thick and gooey pizza. We waited awhile to get our requested pie utensil and then struggled to cut the pieces with our thin plasticware. The pizza was extremely fresh and tasty, however! If you are wondering what the difference is between the deep dish and stuffed, the stuffed is almost like a pizza sandwich. One pizza crust on bottom, toppings, and then another thin crust on top of those before spreading a thin layer of sauce. The crust is thicker than on a deep dish, too. I am sure that we will get pizza here again at some point, but never ever will we dine in. Came in today with my husband for the first time ! We were immediately welcomed in ! The restaurant was clean our food was delicious- we ordered a couple appetizers while we waited for our Chicago pizza ! Our fried ravioli and our jalapeño poppers were both super delicious ! My husband and I were extremely disappointed in Rosati's tonight. We have been here a couple of times however this evening after we ordered dinner and paid, the cashier told us that the pie I had ordered could not be done in deep dish. Okay, I ordered a different one. We get our appetizers and guess what my second choice can't be made in deep dish either. At this point my husband gets super annoyed and says that they can give us our money back because they can't make what I want. I decide to get a double crust instead. Now mind you like 20 minutes has passed at this point. My husband's food comes out and we have to wait on my pizza. While we are waiting another family is waiting for their order and it comes out. Thank goodness that wife checked it because part of their order was missing. I usually don't leave bad reviews because well we usually don't have a bad experience but tonight it truly sucked. We're visiting from Georgia for youth soccer vs. Knoxville. Rosaiti's is right next to our hotel. I'm admittedly a PIZZA SNOB and won't eat mass-produced big chain pizza... even if it's offered for free. Life is too short to eat bad pizza. I was pleasantly surprised by Rosati's!!! I ordered a 12" Thin Crust with sausage and mushroom. It was DELICIOUS. The Crust was slightly charred and crunchy. It had ample quality cheese, and the sauce was unique, not your basic plain red. It was actually seasoned well. I could taste basil and oregano. The tasty sausage was big chunk, which I prefer over crumbled. The owner checked on my take out order a couple of times and was very friendly. There are several tables for dine in. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. I highly recommend this pizzeria read more

We had guests in town that wanted deep dish Chicago style pizza so we went to Rosati's to give it a try. I ordered the Italian Beef sandwich and we ordered a deep dish pie. My sandwich showed up first. It was hot, but it was also overcooked beef and bread. No sauce no peppers no cheese no love. not good. The pizza showed up 30 mins later, which we knew would take longer and it was a decent pie. Well. After we had finished the pie my husband had still not received his meal ... spinach Stromboli bites. we were told "they missed it on the ticket". I've been wanting to eat here for a while and soooo glad we finally did...the pizza was delicious! We had to order the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza since I've never had a "real" one. Because of the thick crust, the toppings are assembled upside down from the typical order. So, it's the thick crust, lots of ooey gooey cheese, fresh toppings, and chunky pizza sauce on the top. If you've never had authentic Pizza from the aforementioned establishments you would think this is ok or maybe good at best. For me I found myself comparing this pizza to the ones I've had in Chicago and that may be unfair. We came in with part of the soccer team after a game on a Saturday around 8pm. Host made great effort to accommodate us. We used the entire dinning area and comfortably had about 20 guests. Service is efficient order at the cashier and food comes out to the table. Some items take little longer than the usual pizza time if you order Chicago or double dough pizza. We like the menu extensive options of pizza styles. Price is reasonable given that the thicker pizza feeds more people. I ordered the small Chicago style pizza. It had 6 slices but I was full with 2 slices. This pizza was close quality to the authentic Chicago pizza. I added black olives and it was stacked with sauce and cheese. Son got the chicken parmigiana and he loved it. Other guest got the double Dough pizzas and felt it is above average quality. I'm a lifelong Tennessean, but my folks are from Chicago, so I fell in love with the Italian Beef sandwich a long time ago. The one from Rosati's is ok, but I don't have a lot of choices living in East Tennessee. What compelled me to write this review is the nickel and dime approach to business the owner has here. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Italian Beef lunch special (sandwich, fries, and soda). $10 + tax. Below is the pic of the amount of fries I received with my order. The sandwich was regular-sized, so I have no complaints there, other than it's just ok. They gave me a can of soda - if I wanted a cup of ice to go with it, that was extra. They limit refills to one of you order a fountain soda, which is also an up charge. I've seen the complaints about charging for red pepper flakes. I don't know if this owner gets it, but that turns people off quickly. It was also mentioned in quite a few reviews. Because of this mindset, I've never left after a visit raving about my experience, and if you're not in business to gain raving fans, you're perfectly fine with just ok. Look, it's pretty simple - you have decent Chicago food, but cut the nickel and dime crap out, price the menu fairly, ensure the quality of both the food and the portion sizes, and people will be more endeared to frequenting your business. read more

Why would you order a regular pizza when you can order a legit chicago style pie?! Seriously! I ordered our beauty through the Yelp app for delivery. It was quick and easy. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it arrived, considering how long it takes to bake a traditional deep dish pizza. The initial quote was 40 minutes and I doubted there was any way they could make it and deliver it in that period of time. Color me shocked! Our delivery driver mentioned that this was the heaviest pizza he had ever delivered and I realized he wasn't exaggerating when I had to use two hands to carry it to the kitchen. Deep dish pizza is pricey compared to traditional pan crust pizza. But out of curiosity I weighed our $35 pizza. I kid you not it was 6.8 lbs. That's a lot of pizza for the price. I'm a long-time fan of Chicago-style pizza so when I saw this place on Yelp I decided to check it out ASAP; My friend and I went there for dinner. The interior is fairly small and there isn't a lot of seating, but they're happy to let you take your food to the Casual Pint, which is just two doors down the street. My friend and I decided to order two of our long-time Chicago favorites to share - a deep dish pie (with Italian sausage and Italian Beef) and an Italian Beef sandwich (dipped, without cheese). I tried my half of the sandwich first and it was amazing! It was made with thinly sliced, perfectly cook meat and peppers on a hoagie style bun ; after the first bite I felt like I was back in The Loop. Next, I tried the pizza; the crust was flakey and buttery, with just the right amount of chew; not soggy at all; it stood up wonderfully on the weight of the sauce, cheese, and toppings. When I took my first bite I could taste the freshness of the toppings and the flavor profile of the sauce, dough, cheese, and meats blended together beautifully! Tip: Rosati's proper doesn't offer much by way of ambiance to enjoy your food in, and they don't serve alcoholic beverages. Being aware of that we went brought our food down the street to the Casual Pint and enjoyed both their atmosphere and a couple of beers each with the selections we brought from Rosati's :-) To sum it all up - the food is exceptional, ambiance is no-frills but they're within spitting distance of the Casual Pint. Yum! Ordered through Bite Squad and it was delicious. GREAT cheese and toppings. Double dough is still a lot of crust, so we'll try thin crust next time. Also, pizza came in squares. I ordered pizza, was told 20 minutes, arrived right on time. Was told it wasn't ready. 10 minutes later I asked about it and was told it isn't in the oven yet, so I still want it. A bunch of excuses were made on why it never went in the oven, but none of them came with an apology. I wasn't looking for much, just a large sausage pizza. This is a review of their slices as I did not have a deep dish pie. They did say it was the same dough but I'm sure the deep dish has to come out better. Their slice they claim is a double dough not a thin crust and ovens are 500 degrees. Good pizza is never cooked at such a low temperature. The dough was doughy and flavorless like gas station pizza... maybe slightly better. I had a few bites and the dough went straight to the trash. Peeled off the hunk of cheese and sausage and ate that. The mozzarella was of good quality, not oily but they ONLY put Mozzarella. Didn't taste any provolone or Parmesan. The sauce was ok. The sausage was really good. If you like a slice where the place puts 2-3 times the cheese on a slice to make up for a sub par pizza this is your place. I think I now have to try the deep dish just to see if that bakes longer and gets a little crisp. Might be more flavorful compared to the slices. Fingers crossed. 3 stars for good mozzarella, sausage and clean place including what I could see of the kitchen. Otherwise, it's a 2 all day just going on the slices. read more

so I had pizza in the land of pizza a few days ago and after a mostly disappointing rest of my weekend I was in need of cheering and some respite from the *cluster* out on the interstate. a random exit and a few arbitrary turns later I am directly in front of another Rosati's!! yea! requested a beverage to take with to the Sunsphere and a 14" classic chicken plus garlic bread. had a look around the fair grounds and then went back to collect my food and head home. unpacked and dined with much gusto and am quite satisfied with the results. despite what y'all may think you know the definitive chicago pizza style is crispy square cut thin crust which gets you into the whole guts -vs- edges dispute. regardless, sprinkle liberally with grated cheeses and crushed red peppers and enjoy. read more
