Celebrated our Mom's & Brother's Birthday here. Great atmosphere, food, beers & service. Very family friendly. My sister commented that the sausages here were better than those we had at Solvang and she was right! Hubby & Brother had a great time trying & drinking from their beer selection. Kudos, they had Chimay.

This place is beyond 5 stars We were looking for a place to eat and our son wanted to fish! We were seated promptly, Luna was our server. He was amazing offered suggestions based on our preferences. Avila makes wonderful drinks. The food is authentic mix of German and American the best we have ever had in Lake County. We will return...considering renewing our vows here! Perfect for an intimate wedding

Great spot for authentic German beer, sausage, and sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was authentically German and tasted amazing! I also had the pork loin special which was topped with a wonderful apricot sauce. The location on the lake with the picturesque view doesn't hurt either. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a great spot and would highly recommend. I will definitely stop in again.

Tuesday night - buy one get one free burgers. We started with a very generous bourbon & soda. The atmosphere is that of Germany, long tables to share with new friends. We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel for our appetizer, tasty crust and the inside... soft and chewy. Then came the Hamburg the beef patties had an amazing crust and tasted fantastic, and I can't describe how fantastic the fries are. I'm a fry snob, and these are the best I have tasted to this date. Big tip, ask for Garlic Aioli on the side to dip the beautiful fries in. Cherry on top is their kind and friendly staff, make you feel like your family. If you go on the weekends don't miss their Bloody mary's it's a meal in itself. ENJOY!

We stopped in here for dinner and so glad we did! We shared the huge pretzel, the agrodolce salad and the curry wurst. The curry sauce was a bit spicy for my mom and they were kind enough to offer her an alternative. Looking forward to trying the pork schnitzel, the burger and the fried chicken sandwich. This location has been a number of things over the years and I was a bit concerned when we arrived at 5:45 and had the whole place to ourselves. But by the time we finished, the place had gotten much busier, so I really hope they do well here. Food was great, service was awesome.

    Delish late lunch

Excellent fun atmosphere with adorable bartender and delicious food! The wine and beer selection is fabulous and they have a full bar. Right on the lake!!! Doesn't get better than this!

The closest was Chancewater and it is also open 7 days a week as opposed to most places in the area that are only open during the weekend. There is plenty of parking and you walk into a bar area that is set up for tastings. But we decided to sit in the larger tasting area that has their wines, barrels etc. They also sell seasonal vegetables at the bar which is a nice touch. They offer olive oil tasting but I didn't want to mix wine and oil so we didn't try the olive oil but I will definitely go back for that. They had many olive oil products for sale - soap, lotions etc. We were greeted by 2 hostesses who offered us a choice to sit at the bar or the tasting room and we choose the tasting room, it had a better ambience. We went on a Tuesday late afternoon, just before they closed at 5pm and we had the place to ourselves. The tasting room has room for at least 50 people without it feeling crowded. You get a choice of 7 tastings for $15 and you can pick what you would like to taste and we picked all whites. We had the 3 white and rose, 2 reserve whites (chardonnay and Sav Blanc) and 2 sweet wines. I am not a fan of Sav Blanc or sweet wines but the ones we tasted were very good. Their chardonnay was well worth the trip by itself. The hostess was friendly and knowledgeable and very engaging. I took one star off for the pours, they were very minimal but delicious. I would highly recommend the place and look forward to the olive oil tasting as well next time!

I followed with Vin de Days, Maurer Red Fruit November and finished with La Miche Cab Sav. While not quite a fan of the RFN, I did enjoy the La Miche for its savoriness- a perfect dinner pairing wine. I don't know how to accurately describe wines- but my version, again savory and hearty but not heavy- another good wine for a nice meaty dinner. (1) It's a wine bar, so it needs to come to a clear understanding of what the right temp is to serve a wine. The light and medium bodied reds were drank were served far too warm. Some basic learning about temps for wine types would be a good start. (2) The owner and her colleague took up 2 of the 3 chairs at the bar, and were drinking. Surely the seats should be left for customers (3) The owner said our server doesn't really know what she's doing because she's new. Didn't feel right to hear that said publicly in front of her - maybe spend time training her vs. drinking at the counter. (4) The menu states prices for a 6 ounce pour, but no pre-measured mini-carafe is used for wines poured directly from the bottle (this is a simple, but profoundly impactful upgrade for the customers of wine bars). A concept is one thing, but better execution and leadership could result in a real gem in downtown Fort Bragg.

I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! We arrived slightly early, and as we waited a friendly gentleman approached us inquiring if we needed assistance. Though the restaurant had not yet opened, he kindly spoke with the staff on our behalf. He invited us to sit in the charming, shaded courtyard. Which was perfect especially since we were accompanied by our sweet Boston Terrier. Our server Kameron was exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful. She shared fascinating details about the historic buildings and their connection to the hotel, providing us with a booklet recounting the intriguing story of the Tallman family's legacy. Kameron also recommended the Blue Wings with a sweet-spicy Asian glaze as an appetizer. Without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Her suggestion was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips, while I savored the Crispy Chicken Salad. Both dishes prepared to perfection. Our dog Winnie was treated to a generous beef dog patty. An impressive patty that left her a very happy girl. Our experience with Kameron truly made us fall in love with Tallman's. So much so that before leaving, I immediately made a reservation for July. The same courteous gentleman who initially greeted us was there to assist with this, offering to reserve a dinner reservation for the evening we arrive. He even offered to show us one of their dog-friendly Main Street Suites. The suite was absolutely stunning. The hospitality we received throughout our visit was exemplary. I am now more excited about our upcoming stay at Tallman's than even our planned trip to the beach house in Fort Bragg. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Blue Wing Saloon and the Tallman Hotel to anyone seeking outstanding service, exceptional food, and drinks!

We ordered pasta dishes (the Alfredo and the ravioli with white sauce), and both sauces were extremely bland. They were watery, almost milk-like, and had virtually no flavor. It was really surprising because this restaurant used to be known for its great food. We didn't say anything while we were there because it was only about 30 minutes before closing, and we didn't want to be those customers or inconvenience the staff. We simply paid our bill and left. Since the new ownership, it's clear that something has changed. Whether it's the menu, ingredients, or chef, the heart of this place doesn't seem to be the same anymore. It's disappointing because this used to be one of our go-to spots. I hope the new owners take customer feedback to heart and make improvements, because we'd love to see Blue Wing return to what made it so special.

We ordered a club sandwich and they loaded fries. My friend ordered the taco salad. I have to say the loaded fries were absolutely fantastic. The guacamole and the pico de gallo were fantastic. The fries were hot and perfect. The club sandwich was lacking and very small. The bread was nothing to write home about and they put Ham on it which just to me is not an American type of club sandwich. My friend had the taco salad was steak and let me say I was pretty impressed. What was lacking was the service. The girls were just sitting around, not coming and checking on the table and just standing and talking. One of us ordered a martini and it was served in a regular glass, a short one. And it was full of vermouth she kept coughing from the amount of it. Then when the check came, it was $97. I can always do a quick math in my head and I was like that's about $20 over what it should be and the lady had brought over the little device to charge she said we can't go back to review it. You have to pay for it and then you can look at the receipt when I print it out. To me that was some of the worst Customer Service ever. They had charged us twice for the taco salad 1895 and then an additional 2495. It was the steak one so it was correct at the 2495 but my friend had to get a credit. They need a little bit of work to do since they just opened up. The food is good but service is really important and getting a tab right is the basics right?
