I was really late and when I arrived there and was seen right away. I got my x-rays and recommendations then Dr. Lacour came in and was so nice and informative on my recommendations. He does everything from deep cleaning to braces. I was in and out within 1.5 hours. I was all set and they even polished my teeth. Never and I mean never has this been done with a cleaning at any other office in Georgia... Upon checking out the Dental Hygenist gave me a care package with all the necessities for good hygiene . They also recommended some products that were sold at the office. I went along with anything suggested because I felt so good!!! On 1/28, the receptionist called asking if I could come in sooner. I explained that I preferred a specific time of day, which was only available on 2/5. She said no problem and confirmed she would see me on 2/5. On 2/4, I received a call that I assumed was a routine reminder. Instead, the front desk informed me they could not see me because they *do not accept my insurance*. I was told I could pay out of pocket if I still wanted to proceed. I was beyond frustrated. I asked why this wasn't communicated sooner -- especially since I provided my insurance information nearly **two weeks in advance** during registration. The explanation I received was that they're "busy" and sometimes this happens. That response was extremely nonchalant and dismissive. What makes this worse is that they had already called me once to move my appointment earlier -- yet somehow my insurance was never verified until the day before my scheduled visit. If insurance information is required during online booking, it should be reviewed in a timely manner. Patients plan their schedules around appointments. Waiting until the day before to say, "We don't take your insurance, but you can pay out of pocket," is unacceptable and unprofessional. I pay for insurance for a reason. I had every intention of supporting this local African American husband-and-wife practice, but this experience was disappointing and disturbing. The front desk needs to do better when it comes to communication and basic administrative follow-through.

She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... But I have to know them????? Can someone please tell me what is the logic here????

He also added composite material to a tooth that had too large of a gap between the teeth so that food doesn't keep getting stuck between those teeth. He and his assistant are true professionals, and they made the whole experience as pleasant as it could be. I am in my mid 60's and my jaw locks up if I have to keep my mouth open too long. Dr. French made sure I was able to rest my jaw every five minutes or whenever he felt I needed a break. I highly recommend Dr. French for any dental issue you may have as he has a great personality and bedside manner, and he is very gentle too.

Dr. Kapur gave explanations and discussed options without pressure. Bottom line: Needed work is done with more durable options at half the cost. Plus excellent staff and pain management. Now, I have a health care Partner, not a Pusher.

Doctor and Dental Hygienist performed some other type of cleaning procedure which I was not told until checkout. (I did not notice anything different). At checkout, I was told that I had a Co-pay (and it was higher than my regular co-pay) for the procedure that had been done. I told her that procedure did not need to be done. (They did not have my previous x-rays or history and the x-rays they took we're good, no cavities, no bleeding, etc.). They would not adjust the charge at check out. No doctor (dentist, medical, eye, etc.) should perform a procedure without first telling the patient and getting patient approval.
