Muir Pool Works!! We can't say enough about how incredible their service was from start to finish! We decided that we want our pool to be heated starting this year since the last two years has been difficult to fully utilize the pool. The pool was not warming up enough for the kids to get in - only on those 90s and over 100 degree days during the summer. We completed a pool heating equipment quote through Yelp with a few simple questions about the project. The quote went out to multiple businesses in the Sacramento area. A few local businesses responded fairly quickly. We requested for estimates from a few companies after reviewing their Yelp reviews. Our initial request was a gas heating system since the pool already has a gas line built in when the pool was built in. We had a few companies do estimates on the work and provided their quotes. Muir Pool Works really stood out for us. Justin was responsive and scheduled time to come out soon after. He made the process easy and the communication was great since I was in the Bay Area and couldn't be onsite. He met with my brother in person for the estimate. He went above and beyond and provided us with three heating options - gas, electric, and solar. I didn't initially think of solar since we had the gas line. But after his recommendation and the price, solar was the no brainer option. We end up waiting to do the solar work in May since we decided to replace the fences instead. I circled back with Justin when we were ready and he got us in within a couple of weeks. His team came out and completed the work in one day - amazing! They were detailed and did a great job. Justin met me onsite the weekend after to go over the maintenance and how to operate the solar panel. He was thorough and broke it down easily for me to understand. He went above and beyond - again, and noticed there were some cracks in the cleaning hose and fixed the hoses while he was onsite. Absolutely amazing service and work! Thank you, Justin. Update: Last year, I was happy with Justin's response time and service (5 stars). Fast forward to this year and a completely different story. - I called Justin to ask about repairing a job he did for me last year. I told him that one side of the repair was capped off fine, but the other side of the tube did not hold so it's leaking again on "both" of the same repairs! Justin said, he does "not guarantee" his work. Today, he quoted me a service call at almost double his cost from last year! I'm so disappointed, plus, I did not find out how much he was going to charge until now, since he put me on his schedule 2 weeks later (my fault for not asking upfront ). Now that Summer's almost over, I'm not in such a rush to get the repair done. Please know, there is no courtesy service or guarantees for a past customer. In regards to Justin's response: You are correct about the solar panel install, but you did come and do the repair work on the 2 leaks pictured below. What annoyed me was the fact, you did not believe that this was your work!! Justin, why do you think I contacted you again?! - What burned me more was the private message you sent to me afterwards, calling me "heartless", "affecting your family" and saying, "I guess you'll never know"... whether or not you would have shown up at our scheduled appointment to make things right and comp your service charge. I ended up going with MPW after reading the owner of Diablo Solar's Yelp review responses - suggest you do too if you are in the market - not the type of service I want if something goes wrong. Justin was communicative, arrived on time, and even took money off the original bid because he was able to route the system differently to save some money. After being on the roof all day, he noticed positioning the panels a little different would yield better results, discussed the changes and made it happen. Our pool is large ~30,000 gal, and we installed a 500 sf system. It took the chill out, going from 68-72, to 80-84 (in October). We are very happy. The install looks great, and is working perfectly.
