My Chosen Piano Dealer for Life…read more It has been 7 years to the month (Sep. 2016) since I first patronized Allegro Pianos. I started my piano journey with a digital upright Kawai; upgraded to a 2016 Estonia 168 baby grand; and finally acquired my dream piano, a 2023 Bluthner Model 6. I also took piano lessons at their school for two years. My progress was rapid, and I am looking forward to enjoying my Bluthner until my dying day. Given my long acquaintance with the owners of Allegro Piano, Ori and Rebecca Bukai, I could write a voluminous review; but to be concise, I'll recount my most memorable experiences that make me so grateful that I happened on their company given the sea of competitors in the piano business. First, Ori spent so much time explaining the factors of piano selection and listened carefully to my goals and preferences. I spent about 2 hours each time I selected a new piano, and Ori fielded many follow-up emails to finalize my purchases. Second, Allegro always gave me a great deal on my pianos. Like cars, new pianos rarely sell for their MSRP; however, the "street price" that Ori offered usually was far better than the discounts at other physical or online dealers and the guidelines in Larry Fine's Piano Buyer Book. Furthermore, Ori always gave me *full credit* without adjustment for depreciation toward upgraded purchases. Third, Allegro did an outstanding job with all my deliveries. I did one move without them and later discovered that I was overcharged more than double what Allegro would have charged. In my latest move from CT to TX, when the national mover refused to cover some damage to the lid because I could not prove at what point in the move the damage occurred, Allegro made sure that I was made whole even though the damage was definitely not their fault. For these and many other reasons, I regard Ori and Rebecca not only as trusted piano experts but also friends; and should I ever need another piano or am asked to recommend a dealer, they will always be at the top of my list.

Great selection, and a super knowledgeable owner. Even though a trained pianist, I learned something about the materials and manufacturing processes of the pianos the store has. Great selection of electronic pianos, too, and the prices are super competitive. Thanks for a fantastic buying experience.

Came in here a year ago to see about getting daughter signed up for violin lessons. I brought in a…read moreviolin I purchased on Amazon and the lady who was working there was very kind. She told me I got too big of a violin but we can always rent one (which I thought was fair). She also started to show me how to put it together. Well the gentlemen in the back, forget it. He got all upset, came to me and said I should just go home. Im wasting my time there. Really attempting to belittle me. I dont care if this guy won awards or is the almighty violin king. He is rude, impatient, and will definitely get an award of "biggest j*****s" by me. Go check out the other two music schools who were friendly, forthcoming, and professional.

Update: I received a call from the owner. I will reiterate that local shops in the area, who…read moreservice instruments for some of the worlds most famous instruments and musicians, do not sell strings for triple the price. Additionally, the owner tried to tell me that I may not be "getting the real deal" from other shops. As a professional musician - I can tell the difference between real and fake strings. Shops in the area servicing real Stradivarius instruments are not selling fake strings. Reputable online retailers who serve professional musicians are also not selling fake strings. Additionally, the owner mentioned they provide a service of "installing" the string for you. As an educator, I can tell you that your teacher will do this for you. As a professional musician, I have no idea why this service would be offered to me - it is not common practice nor should it be. If the shop itself is indeed purchasing strings from the makers at double or triple the cost they can be found locally or online, I would have to question their ability to do business. As much as I would love to support a local business and a local music business, this predatory practice is unacceptable.
