This place is fairy new-ish and I wanted to check it out for a while based on some videos I've seen posted online. We ended up going there for dinner with a group of people. The place looks pretty with plenty of picture opportunities. We had a reservation and after about 15 min of waiting we got a table. The waitress was very nice and friendly but due to various reasons experience wasn't great. First, the menu dish - mortadella pizza - wasn't available due to a lack of mortadella. We decided to sub it for another ingredient. And specified no arugula. Then both pizzas came loaded with arugula. In either case pizza wasn't very good, nobody liked the dough. Manager did take one of the pizzas off the bill. On the up side - Caesar salad was good. And so is salmon entree. read more

This was my second time dining at Stella's, and unfortunately we will not be returning. While the food itself was decent, the service experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, every step of the process took far longer than expected. We waited roughly 30 minutes just to place our drink order, another extended wait to receive the drinks, additional time to place our food order, and then another long delay before the food arrived. Even getting the bill took a considerable amount of time. Although the staff was friendly, the restaurant appeared to be very poorly managed. It seems clear that there are operational or management issues that need to be addressed. At this price point, customers reasonably expect a smoother dining experience. Troy has many excellent dining options, and unfortunately there are several places that provide both better food and far better service for a similar cost. I was also disappointed to see a 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill without it being clearly communicated beforehand. Fortunately, I noticed it before adding an additional tip. I typically tip 20% or more when service warrants it, but in this case the service simply did not justify it. I hope the management is able to address these issues, because the restaurant has potential. However, unless significant improvements are made, it will be difficult for customers to justify returning when there are so many better options nearby. read more

I've been here twice for brunch and every time it has been incredible. The strawberry cinnamon French toast, prosciutto omelette, and the chicken and waffles are 10/10. Definitely working out the new restaurant kinks (we were there between their soft opening and their grand opening). Waitress was very nice, but needed some reminders, i.e. we had to ask twice for extra silverware, had to prompt her for the drink refills she promised but forgot. Also the ladies toilet stopped flushing, which was unfortunate, as they only have one toilet/restroom. Food was delicious: calamari was most tender we've ever had, like the sauce pairing too. Husband had the NY strip steak w the pepper sauce and it was very good, not too peppery! Steak was cooked to his request (medium). My husband ordered mashed potatoes, as steaks were listed as "a la cart," but waitress said they were actually included, so maybe a menu typo? I had the chicken marsala, which was delicious--great sauce, chicken cooked perfectly and ample amounts of mushrooms, just wished for a little more mashed potatoes. I also ordered the side roasted carrots and while those had a great flavor and color, they needed just a skosh more time in the oven, as there were some firm spots on the inside. Only thing I didn't like was the Old Fashioned cocktail. They did a "smoked" Old Fashioned, which came out smelling more like burnt rubber than smoke. Drink was strong and good flavor, but I would definitely request it not be smoked if I were to order it again. No coffee, so I didn't even ask about dessert. Would I go back, sure. read more

This place is so cuttte, it has low lighting with super cute fixtures and seating. I had steak bites 10/10 and truffle fries as an appetizer 10/10 for both. And the salmon with garlic honey glaze for dinner with mashed potatoes and broccolini 10/0. I had the strawberry mojito cocktail which was amazing 10/10. We had been wanting to try Stella's since they opened. I was worried that we would need reservations but when we got there it was not very busy. The ambiance is beautiful. They did a really nice job on it. We sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent. Very friendly. The food and drinks were also delicious. I would definitely recommend trying it. read more

Upon being seated we were not waited on it. After ten minutes it was necessary for me to go to the hostess stand to see if we even had a server. Hostess and waitress standing by the bar. Drinks mediocre. Table not wide enough for distance of booths-uncomfortable. It felt like the heat was not on? Food was not very flavorful. Pizza bland. Stella is trying to be a luxe dining experience, but currently misses the mark on that. --- We dined as a party of 4 this past Friday evening and were seated around 7:30/7:40-ish. At the time of seating, the restaurant was about 3/4s full. We were two couples dining, and they split our bill accordingly, which I appreciated. 20% tip is automatically included, which is written on their door when you enter and is also clearly labelled on your bill (separate line item for 20% tip and tip line is labelled as "additional gratuity"). Just as an FYI, we were required to valet our car, which was complimentary. I wasn't expecting to have to valet, so it was lucky that I had cash for a tip. It seems that it is valet only on the weekends (I assume at least Friday and Saturday, unsure about Sunday). Stella doesn't seem to have a website at the moment and I didn't see any additional information about it on their Instagram. --- Ambiance: They seem to be going for like an Instagram glam/Vegas-y clubstaurant kind of vibe with lots of black and gold decor. It's not really my vibe, but I'm sure a lot of other people love it. Volume is medium-level, with most of the sounds being from conversations from other diners. I can't recall if there was music playing, so if there is music, it's not very loud, which I did appreciate. --- Food (3/5): For our entrees, we ordered the Truffle Mushroom A5 Wagyu Burger ($28) and the Apple Walnut Salad ($18) with Chicken (+$8) and dressing on the side. The food ranged from 'fine' to 'not great,' which puts this restaurant in the category of "I'd only go back if someone I was dining with really wanted to go" for me. Objectively, the burger did a fine job as a burger. It wasn't dry or overly salty and I wasn't unhappy eating it. But otherwise, there was nothing special about this burger. The patty didn't have any special flavors or textures. You're definitely paying a premium for a "A5 wagyu burger" but I don't think you're getting a flavor premium. The salad itself was also fine. The bowl was sizeable and there were a lot of ingredients in it, which made it really nice. However, the chicken was absolutely awful. It was thin, hard, and dry. As someone who poaches chicken breast for meal prep, my bare minimum for chicken isn't even seasoning, just that it's not dry. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT order the chicken add-on for the salad. Overall, while the burger and the base salad tasted fine, at $28 for the burger and $26 for the salad + chicken, there are several other restaurants in the area that can deliver better food for the same price or less. --- Service (2/5): It was hard for me to come up with an aggregate rating for the score because it was such a range, but ultimately, I could not say that it was a good service experience overall. While our server was friendly, I cannot say that they did their job well. To start, it took an hour for our food to come out. Our server did let us know once that the kitchen was backed up and that our food is still being worked on, but they never checked back in again in the hour we were waiting. Once the food came out, we couldn't even start eating because we didn't have any utensils. We asked our server twice for utensils; once when our food was served and then again when they came to ask us how everything was and the utensils never showed. We had to flag another server in the room for utensils, but then that took awhile and we were unsure if they were coming back, so one of us left to go find utensils. The second server did bring us utensils shortly after that, but our server just completely forgot our utensils; they never came with them at all. Later, after 3 out of 4 of us had finished our food and our plates cleared, the last person was still actively eating -- she probably still had half her pasta in her bowl, fork in hand, and still chewing -- and the server asked if we were ready for the bill. We were so confused that we just sat in silence for a couple beats before I told the server, "I think my friend is still eating?" I can only assume they were eager to turn over our table due to the automatic 20% tip on the bill. What was above and beyond came from who I assume is the manager and/or owner. They came over to our table to apologize for the wait for our food and if they could buy us a round of drinks to compensate. I thought that was extremely professional and I was impressed by the gesture. Here on a Sunday at 12:30PM for brunch. Service was SO bad. Server didn't communicate well and seemed to have very little knowledge when asked about menu items. After ordering a cocktail/beer we were rushed to order our food, at least ask if we want to hang out first. Didn't check on us one time to ask how the food was. Food was not good. Prosciutto and mozzarella omelette had HAM inside and the mozzarella was melted and already hardening on top of the egg/omelette. BEWARE: 20% Gratuity was already included on a party of 2! I think this place recently opened, which can explain some of the troubles. The restaurant looks amazing, you can no longer tell it used to be a Ram's Horn (with a few other restaurants in between). The lighting , floor, tables and chairs are now elegant. Unfortunately, the night we were there they seemed to be short staffed, possibly 1 waitress for the entire place. The manage stepped in, but it meant we were begging for things like silverware, bread plates, water etc. and it took a long time to order. Once we ordered, the food came out at different times, which is a bit awkward, but ... the food was really tasty! I had the Vodka & Burrata with a side of Brussels sprouts. The pasta taster homemade, and the bowl looked really small but ended up being enough for leftovers. The Brussels (with bacon) were a hit at the table and went well with my dish. Other people at my table raved about the salmon being delicious. I plan to go back to try the other dish I was debating. Hopefully any staffing issues are worked out by then. read more

I had a reservation at 8:30pm with proof and confirmation, that I made with Niko and when my party got there they said it was at 9:30pm. since it was late and would be last minute to switch a large group to another restaurant we said ok we'll take that. At 9:36pm it was then stated now we can't sit till 10pm with no accommodations. If you know you cant handle multiple big parties at a time because your establishment is small then tell us that. We were told they were out of ingredients to make a smoked cocktail and also out of the filet. After we ordered dinner, we were asked to leave our table and move to a booth since the party that was coming in got there early and they needed our table. As we were getting ready to relocate, the manager came by and told us we could stay. The steak bites were good as was the espresso martini. Great job renovating the Hills City Grill into this new format and menu. That said, the food is well presented but nothing to really wow you. It's a bit pricey for what it is and the thing that really puts me off is they add a mandatory gratuity to the bill, even when we were a party of 2. I hope they continue to thrive, but maybe address these issue. Especially the gratuity thing. Pay the staff a reasonable wage and let the customer decide what to tip (if at all). read more

We arrived with no reservations @ 5:30 on a Friday night. Restaurant was empty and they were not sure they could seat us. Got a table in bar which was fine. Waitress asked if we'd like aps or bread. Said bread please and learned that they charge for bread. I believe that any high end restaurant, with upwards of $50 for an entree should provide bread. Asked waitress for recommendations. I ordered her recommended pasta, Tuscan Chicken which had no, if very little chicken and no spinach. We received the bill which had a 20% gratuity added. There was a large puddle of spilled water on the floor between our table and the next table! No one ever came to clean it up all the time we were there! Every employee gave off an uncomfortable, unwelcoming vibe, like customers were an inconvenience.
