The servers were really nice but all the tapas came out at once. Nothing really "stood out" and by the time we ate a few of them they were cold. Drinks were alright but could have been better. I wouldn't go back and I really wish I felt different. The menu seemed really good. read more

I love this place! Me and my wife go to this place anytime we are having a special night out. The service and food are always great. It's such a good place to get out but still be in a relaxing environment. I highly suggest going when they have a musician performing. I should give a brief disclaimer. We do try to go before 6 for happy hour. So the impact on the wallet is cut in half. The food is pretty good. We usually have a few different tapas, and haven't been disappointed. Although I didn't like the pulled pork as much some of the other reviewers. Their drinks are really the selling point. I am usually a beer drinker, but whenever I come here I make sure to have a few of their signature drinks. All the bartenders do a good job, but if he is there, there is a tall guy who may be the head bartender, (i think he comes up with the drinks and the infusions), who makes top notch drinks. The staff and waiters are attentive and friendly. The atmosphere inside is unique and different then you get elsewhere is downtown, so unlike Martha's I think you are better off sitting inside. This is the place we go for a downtown gathering of fine drinks and tapas. The atmosphere is great, bands on the weekends and friendly staff. Service and food has been consistent for all of our visits. The perfect place when you don't want a big meal but can fill up easily on a variety of items, love the Spanish meatballs. This place has amazing food! We arrived without a reservation and was told we could be seating if we would be done within an hour and a half. I've never been told that before, but she wanted to make sure we were comfortable with the timing of their upcoming reservations which was a nice courtesy. There was the option to sit at the bar as well. We both order craft beers which were delicious. My husband and I decided to order and share and we picked out 5 tapas, and they were wonderful! The server was very attentive and paced our food to arrive at the table in a perfect time fashion. We couldn't help but order dessert and chose the donuts which were out of this world! Husband and I were traveling north to Nashua and decided last minute to pick this, looking at their menu through OpenTable. Just going by the menu & reviews, it looked like tapas and was expecting the food to be at least decent. This is not tapas- this is microwaved small plates. Definitely NOT returning. Food is so basic.. not sure how the reviews are at 4 stars right now, gross. On the bright side, our waitress was nice and they were preparing live music while we were on the way out. Fun little restaurant. That serves tapas. Waiter was extremely attentive. Some items were easier to share than others. The sword fish was blah. But everything else was good. Normally you couldn't pay me to eat brussel sprouts, but someone in our party ordered the brussel sprouts with bacon and OMG was it tasty!!! 2 in are party also split the little donuts for desert 5 tiny donuts and a Carmel sauce. They LOVED them. So for a night out for 4 with cocktails it came to about $130 so very cheap night out. read more

My friends and I went to Stella Blu for the first time last week, but it won't be the last time. Service and ambiance were wonderful and the food was amazing. My fiance and I went here because we received a gift certificate. We did not expect such an amazing experience. The cocktail I ordered - the Stella Blu - was deliciously refreshing and perfect for a warm summer evening. Blueberry puree, prosecco, peach schnapps, and a few other tasty ingredients made for a fantastic drink. Our server, Dan, was fantastic. He knew all about the dishes, how they were prepared, every ingredient - a true foodie and an excellent server with great attention to his customers (but not overbearing). Our food was amazing. We started with the albondigas, the pulled pork, the brussel sprouts, and the mixed grill. The pulled port was so delicious (the fennel slaw got lost in the sauce, but the quality of the pork and the corn bread made up for that). The albondigas were amazing - moist, spicy, and piping hot. We followed up round one with round two: the hangar steak and the linguica. The hangar steak was done to perfection - medium rare - and the linquica paired with the chimicurri sauce had the perfect balance of fat, salt, and spice. Amazing. Truly a great find! I spent a little time looking through reviews before choosing this restaurant, not being familiar with downtown Nashua. We will make it a point to return and try more of the menu! The atmosphere was fine - it's not a large space, so I don't think you're going to find a dark, romantic corner. I did notice nicely done indirect lighting. Most importantly, we found the food to be creative, well-presented and just plain delicious!!! Tapas really is for people who enjoy trying different tastes and combinations - we had the arancini, crispy calamari and grilled brussels sprouts for starters. All were superb! The arancini were perfectly presented, with a light, tasty marinara sauce. If you haven't tried grilled brussels sprouts, do! The highlight of the meal was splitting an entre of scallop & shrimp scampi. My wife is from an Italian family, so we know Italian, trust me. The chef knows what he is doing in this establishment. Simply the best scampi either of us have ever had! Not to pick on any other reviewers, but I don't know where insipid might fit in the conversation?!? The fresh linguini carried a marriage of perfect flavor of garlic, lemon, and seafood flavor, with enough shrimp and scallops perfectly prepared to be quite satisfying. Dessert was salted caramel gelato (they offer gelato of the day), recommended by our server, Dan. Excellent, once again! With a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio, in essence a delightful evening. And to mention our server, again, ours was attentive, informative, friendly. Really, I think this was a memorable evening. Oh, and the live music on a Saturday night was a nice bonus and made for a very cordial atmosphere. With a bottle of wine at $35ish, and one snifter of Sambuca with dessert, our bill came to just about $100.00. We spent more than that in Boston back in the '70's, for much less interesting an evening. Bravo! read more

Visited here for the first time and had a great experience. The service was great there was a good variety of drinks and the tapas were delicious. I went with 2 other people and together we got a drink (1 person did get an extra drink), 3 different entree dishes and 3 different desserts we shared all the tapas dishes which surprisingly left us satisfied. My son, my niece and I enjoyed our Tapas at Stella Blu. From the calamari, short ribs ravioli, arancini to the carbonara gnocchi to the Kobe sliders and Parmesan wings we enjoyed every bite. The Espresso martinis were perfect compliments to the small plates. Dessert included creme brulee and salted caramel donuts. While I found the donuts too soggy due to the salted caramel sauce, my son loved them. The only negative was that although the restaurant was not busy at all they sat us in front of an emergency exit and right behind other diners. There were plenty of open tables and I would have preferred to be able to spread out a bit, not be cramped by another table full of diners. read more

I came here for a drink and dessert after getting dinner elsewhere on a Saturday night. The bar seemed well stocked, and the atmosphere was nice. No dirty people, mostly well dressed. Definitely classier than some other local spots. The noise level was pretty high, but not in an obnoxious way. The cannoli was good, and so was the live music. read more

Went here once on date night. Bar seating was completely full and there was a 2 hour wait for dining room seating. We were able to get seats at the bar within about 15 minutes. The food was great. Even my husband tried the eggplant rollitini and loved it! He's usually a strictly meat and potatoes kind of guy. I had a few different martinis from their menu which were fabulous. Wow, so we decided to order takeout from here for the first time to support our local business' and let me say everything was PERFECT. We ordered the Hawaiian sliders, buffalo cauliflower and pineapple stir fry. All the dishes were amazing, so much that I wanted to go back the next day! I will also say that service was so impressive. We called on a Sunday while most of Main Street is closed and it is difficult to find parking with only outdoor seating available. I drove past their location and was at the front of the red light because I couldn't find parking and called to see what their protocol was as I knew it would be difficult to find somewhere to park. I called and they literally ran down the street and brought it to me while I was at the red light! I was so blown away with the service and then when I finally got to eat the food, I was even more impressed! I can't wait to have a night out here! read more

I did not imagine I would ever post a negative review of Stella Blu. But here I am. Have been a fan for as long as it's been in business (following Manhattan on Pearl). I have brought friends, out of town family, and many groups here. However, during this pandemic, many restaurants have changed for the negative. Stella Blu is one of these. First, the quality of SB's food has declined. Food is sometimes overcooked; calamari appears to be comprised of overly-cooked previously frozen rings. The on-line menu is outdated. The person who took our order said Kobe sliders have "as much" meat and less bread than the full-size Kobe burger on the "take-out" menu (I cannot order the full-size burger, because "it's no longer available"- not sure if this is a bait-and-switch, but the "take-out" menu has been online for at least a month). This is not only untrue, but the size of the tiny sliders has been very much reduced, based upon my past experiences ordering them. The "summer salad" had sliced vegetables on top, but was otherwise mostly composed of lettuce. While I do have sympathy for most restaurants during this pandemic, but I don't for Stella Blu. They seem to be reducing quality, reducing quantity (while keeping the same prices), and being dishonest with their customers. And they are fairly expensive, especially given the now "meh" quality and reduced portion sizes. I didn't give them one star, because the food wasn't terrible. However, from now on, including after the pandemic, I will not be patronizing this restaurant. read more

We arrived early to this nice looking tapas place (so early that in Spain it would not have been open...) and was greeted by the maitre-di who sounds just like Seth Rogen ... who promptly gave us some roasted pita and hummus as an appetizer ... nice ... Anyhow, we had 4 little dishes, Asia inspired green beans, roasted red beet salad with a wonderful hazelnut dressing, and a larger dish each, my wife had lamp chops that she cleaned out, and I had a buffalo hanger steak, and two glasses of wine from their small but well balanced wine list. The food was very tasty and quite original. Oh, and we split a dessert that was right up my alley : pound cake with warm berries and whipped cream (and the cream was real, not out of a can). We loved our visit to Stella Blu! We sat at a table across from the bar and we had plenty of room! I hate when tables are close together! The service was phenomenal!!! The atmosphere was romantic, classy yet fun and playful not stuffy. The food was great! We really enjoyed the array or tappas! They were all great, our favorites were the eggplant and the Mongolian steak, but we haven't tried them all yet. We're looking forward to our next visit very soon! read more

WAY Overpriced. First time to Stella Blu last night. We will not go back. Drinks are tiny, and very expensive. We paid $9 for a drink for my wife that came in a small champagne glass. My drinks were in very small cocktail glasses, and were $10. I don't mind paying those prices, I mind not getting any drink for the price. I admit, first time doing tapas. I understand the small plate concept, actually sounded like a interesting idea. The crab dip we got was actually pretty good. But we got the short ribs, $11 and I had to actually search for the meat. Tiny does not describe it. Small is one thing, this was on the verge on non-existent. Same with the rollatini. Not small, tiny. I wasn't expecting large portions, I understand the idea. But there should be enough to taste at least. The really disappointing thing was, what we got was very good, drinks and food. But not for the prices charged. We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant. We were sorely disappointed. Not going back. read more

My wife and I came to Boston a few weeks ago on vacation and wanted to show me where she grew up on Nashua. We made reservations here and met up with an old childhood friend. The wine selection is very good and the food is great as well. They serve everything on tiny "appetizer" plates which is great for sharing as well as trying new things. Stella Blu is a little gem found right in the heart of downtown. Tiny little place, warm and inviting. I haven't tried any tapas dish that I haven't liked, so I can't pick a favorite, but I do love those roasted brussel sprouts. Took a friend there for her birthday and we seriously ate good just ordering the sliders, brussels and a couple of other plates. She had a soft drink but I had a martini, as far as I'm concerned, the make the best martinis in town. A little pricier than some places, but so worth it. And they have lots of variations on the martini so it's always fun to try something new. I would say the place is pricey, but it's so worth it that I don't mind spending a little extra. And they seriously can get some good music in there as well. I'm single and it's a place I'm not afraid to go to by myself, though I think it is more of a date place, I feel comfortable at the bar. I recommend it to anyone looking for something new. read more

My daughter and I met here because it's midway between Boston and Peterborough. The menu was exceptional, offering small plates, so we could try a little of everything. The steak tacos and the tuna tacos were especially good as were the chicken lettuce wraps. The cocktail menu was fun and creative. I tried the Pink Pearl. Superb. Our server was Chuck and he was very attentive and knowledgeable. Stella Blu is definitely on our radar now and we'll be returning. read more

After having dinner at SF Kitchen, the fiance and I decided to check out Stella Blu for an after dinner drink before we headed home. We've heard good things about it such as live music, good cocktails and good food as well as a slightly older crowd with an upscale feel. We walk in just after 10 pm this past Friday night and have a seat at the bar. The bar was half full (approx 15-20 people including us) and there were only a few tables occupied. After sitting at the bar for 5 minutes, one of the 3 bartenders finally walked by us and put 2 drink menus in front of us without saying a word. Not even a "Hello, how are you" or a "I'll be with you guys in a moment". Neither one of us perused the menus as we already knew what we wanted to drink. We sat there for another 10 minutes before we decided to get up and head elsewhere for a drink. As we got up to put our coats on, a bartender stopped his conversation with another bar patron to come over and ask us if we were all set, to which I replied, "yes, I've waited long enough." In the 15 minutes that we sat there, I watched 3 bartenders make a total of 5 drinks. Two of which were draft beers. I've bartended now for almost ten years and there's absolutely no excuse for a patron to go unacknowledged at a semi busy bar for 15 minutes. I'd hate to see how long it took to get a drink there if the place was actually busy. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place if you were in the mood for a quick drink! read more

Such a great little tapas place and even recently they are expanding their menu. Their drink menu is excellent and vast. I would have loved to give 5 stars but I often hesitate going because if they have live music it ruins the atmosphere because this is a small restaurant and its always turned up too loud. I'm all for some live music to add to the vibe but they need to turn it down. Last time I went was before the live music started and everything was amazing and reminded me why I like this place. read more

I just wanted to say, Bill and I got married at Stella Blu, Oct 16th, 2011 and if you were at our wedding you would have said ," That was the best wedding we have ever been too" ! Took our time ordering a variety of yummy tapas. Had lobster mac..delicious...carbonara pasta...yummy..seared scallops very tasty. Ordered short ribs and it fell of the bone, very nice sauce but it was one small rib, pricey at $11. Our last dish was the fries..we got a half order which was huge. They were a big pile of greasy cheese and bacon, it belongs in a bar as pub food. Totally not a fit and disappointing. Overall nice experience, good service. Would go back. read more
