I purchased a car from Stellar Auto and they were very nice and informative throughout the whole process. At first I went to check out a car which I liked but before I went, Sean was honest and informed me on the phone that the car was in the process of being sold and that I was more than welcome to check it out. The car was sold shortly after I looked at it. A few days later, Sean contacted me out of the blue that a similar car (similar mileage, history, year, color, but different carfax) just pulled into their lot. How in the world does this place have 4 stars?!?!? My boyfriend and I came to this dealership today to look at cars. We were barely acknowledged when we walked into the office. Seriously, of the three people sitting in the office, nobody even said hello. My boyfriend had to initiate communication after standing there for a moment. We were told that the car he was looking for was in "storage." We saw a couple of other cars we might have been interested in, and they gave us the keys to start one of them. They never came out to check on us and answer any questions while we were outside starting the car!!!!!!! Literally ZERO attempt at any customer service!!!! It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced at a dealership! It gives off a really shady vibe, and one of the cars had two batteries just sitting in its dusty trunk!!!! I wanted to write a 5 star review for this place the day I bought my used Honda Element, but I waited a month to see how the car held up. It's been great ever since I bought it and I got my registration in the mail today 3 weeks before it expires. I visited the dealership twice before purchasing my car and was treated very well by every single person who works there. Bella and Ari arranged a test drive. Ted handled a few mechanical issues that needed fixing. And Oleg finalized the deal. If you're looking to haggle this place might not be for you. I heard several salesman you the word "firm" when describing prices. But I shopped for a few months and my car was listed pretty much exactly what KBB recommended. Definitely make an appointment before dropping in otherwise your car may not be there at that exact moment. I found this dealership to be super painless. They were very honest with what needed to get fixed on the car even before I started snooping around. I was always able to get in touch with someone when I called or my call was returned almost immediately. Overall it was a great experience and I got the exact car I wanted in my budget. My wife was looking for a Mercedes in a particular color that she had seen on the road. I found the car in that color at Stellar online, which is about the only way you will find them since they are on a small, nondescript lot in North Hollywood. I went by the lot and didn`t see the car and assumed it was sold. Called back after seeing it online again later that day, and was told it was at another lot and they could have it there in an hour. I live in the So Bay area of LA, so this was great as I didn`t want to come back. I was driving my wife`s old Mercedes, and hoped to trade it in. They were very upfront in saying I would be better off selling it myself since they couldn`t give me what I wanted. I went home, and a week later my son says he`ll buy his Mom`s car. Problem solved. I called Ari who had the car detailed and ready to go. The rear tires were worn, so they put newer tires on, Michelin's, which matched the front tires and in the correct size. After driving the car, there was an issue that needed repair. They took care of it. We love the car, and especially the helpfulness of Ari, Oleg, and Bella. I have read some posts here which claims these folks are indifferent. I think it`s great that they don`t pressure you, and when you have questions they have a lot of knowledge about the vehicle. Not only did I get an old BMW which was immaculate but it also came with a warrantee. When Oleg went to test drive with me, he taught me the right way to adjust the seat position. Check the Better Business Bureau Website!!!! Stellar Auto Sold me a car that had multiple problems. The biggest problem was that the car smoked. I also had to change the oil in the car almost every two weeks because of this problem. When I would drive off after being stopped at a red light, or being parking with the car on, soOoo much smoke would come out of the exhaust pipes that you would think I had a fog machine at the back of my car. This happened a couple of days after I got the car off the lot. I tried to use the warranty that I purchased from them to get the car repaired, however, the warranty company said that they would normally cover my problem, but because the car was just purchased, the dealer sold me the car defective. They instructed me to call the dealer. Stellar Auto promised to fix the problem. They said they would get back with me three months in a row. They finally sent me to a repair shop that said they weren't equipped to handle this problem at their shop. Stellar Auto continued to tell me they would call me, but never did. Save your time and money and go to another dealership! They're not honest here at all! Some of the other problems included - one of the windows didn't let down, the window shade was broken, the brakes were bad, the window wiper was gone, one of the front lights was out, the tires had a malfunction. If you do decide to purchase here, I hope you have AAA and money to fix all of the repairs you will discover days later. They'll give you a lemon you can't sell to make lemonade. We found a car that we really liked at Stellar Auto and we drove 150 miles to see the vehicle. Upon arrival we found the vehicle very dirty with cob webs on the underside. We drove the vehicle and decided we needed to have it checked by a mechanic. After having the car checked by a mechanic, we found several problems. After reporting the problems to the sales staff, they made us an offer that was very reasonable. One of the issues found with the vehicle were tires that were not safe for travel. One tire was low and had a nail in it and another tire had evidence of a failing sidewall secondary to being driven on flat. We felt these should have been discovered by the mandatory safety check that dealers in California must provide. We agreed at the lower negotiated price, that we would pay for new tires. Stellar Auto promised they would take the care to a tire shop and have the tires installed. They were unable to find the proper size tires at their shop. We then took it upon ourselves to find another shop with the tires in stock, which we did (about two blocks from the dealership.) However, when we asked them to deliver the car to the tire store for tire installation, they were unable to comply. At this point, we kindly asked for a $300 discount to make up for the inconvenience of the tire issues (tires were $300 more than expected and we didn't want to make the drive to the dealership until the tires were installed due to safety concerns). My wife got a call shortly after we made the request and the salesman was very rude to her and said "no" to the $300 discount and told her they would put tires on it and sell it to someone else at a higher price. He cancelled the deal we had made even though we had already filled out the purchase order. Later the owner called to discuss the matter, we had a pleasant conversation and relayed our concerns. While it was obvious to us that the car was not properly inspected and not safe to drive, the owner convinced me that this is not their practice and that they try to assure vehicles are safe for sale and driving. Our advice is simple, no matter where you shop for a car, always have it inspected by an independent mechanic and have every agreement in writing. Because many people have had positive things to say about Stellar Auto, I can't say they are all bad, but I can say that I will not consider another vehicle purchase from them. read more

This place is really shady! I had looked online at their inventory and they seemed to have some good deals. There was one car in particular that I was interested in so I called to see if I could come in and test drive it. The person told me to come in anytime and I told him I was on my way and it would take me 45 minutes to an hour. They said no problem. My husband and I drove all the way out there and when we got there they said the car wasn't there because it was in the shop. Then they asked if we wanted to look at their other cars. No. I was so frustrated because I had called ahead and they said it was there. Meanwhile, the men in charge who we spoke with were smoking while they were inspecting the cars and trying to sell us one. Overall, they were unprofessional and I would not recommend wasting any time with this dealership. read more

I purchased a 2003 Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG from this dealership on 5/23/13. Initially, I thought the process was going fine and I was getting a halfway decent deal for the car. Being a Mercedes Benz enthusiast and owning 12 of them in the past, I have a little more knowledge than the average Mercedes Benz owner. I will just get straight to the point, the staff here doesn't know what's going on with their cars, half the cars don't even start without a jump, and if you are looking for customer service, you will not find it here. Being a cash buyer (not-financing), it's obvious that it's a very simple transaction, a few signatures, 16 grand, and the car is yours. When I bought this car, there were very few stipulations to close the deal and they were not met. Detail the car (not done), mechanical inspection with a clean bill of health (here is the real problem), tow covers for the car which you can simply purchase from a Mercedes dealership (not done), and also change the coolant and check for any leaks. In good faith I purchased the vehicle and purchased a cooling off contract (Thank God). I took it to my mechanic in Redondo Beach (Mike's Foreign) who I have been dealing with for the longest time. Needless to say they have a wonderful team and great knowledge for Mercedes Benz vehicles. I took the car in for an oil change and just a check up to make double sure my 16 thousand dollar investment was a good one. They found the following: Cracked radiator spilling coolant, mis-alignment which had the driver rear tire down to the metal almost shredded, leaking rear main seal, and warped rotors. Their mechanic failed to realize that the rear tire was almost going to explode? I highly doubt they even checked half of the items they said were "OK". I immediately call the owner (Ted) who has no customer service skills whatsoever, and a sales manager with most likely a telemarketing background and has absolutely no idea about anything. He probably didn't even know that the car was purchased and off his lot! So anyways I get a ride back to the dealership from a family member of his from my mechanic who were very nice I must say, and then I finally meet the owner Ted. I basically told him you sold me a car with a lot of problems and a rear tire that could have exploded on the highway and cause a major accident. So as we are talking he takes a couple of phone calls in the middle of our conversation which is extremely rude, and he had very little care as to what my concerns were. He called the oil leak from the rear main seal seepage and not to worry about it too much because it's normal. No, seepage is not normal, it's a leak and it won't heal itself, it needs to be replaced. At this point, I then look at a 2006 BMW M5. Take it to my mechanic and the laundry list is long as well. O2 sensors, increased emissions meaning it won't pass smog, and the list goes on. After that, I look at a 2008 Blue BMW 335i. The car needs to be jumped because of a major electrical issue in the car and the passenger airbag light is on. So 3 out of 3 cars all have major problems, in my opinion a major problem is repairs exceeding $4,000. Ted was unwilling to fix any of these problems on the CL55, I wasted $350 on the cooling off period restocking fee, $150 oil change on the CL55, $350 on inspections on 3 of his cars, and 3 days worth of time. Point here is spend a little more on a car at a reputable dealership, not a bottom-feeder buying problematic cars from auctions and then praying they make the 30 warranty that Stellar Auto has on their vehicles. Note to owner: if you are selling BMW's and Benz on your lot, clean them up, don't lie to people, and maybe wear a polo or something? Maybe pants? Not shorts and a baseball cap. Buyers, do not buy at least the 3 cars that I have mentioned from this dealership. If you do, get ready to spend 4 grand to fix them. Oh yeah, and if you do end up buying a car here, bring a gas can because all of their cars are running on fumes. When I took delivery of the CL55 it had a range of 6 miles. Yeah 6 miles. If you do buy from this dealership, please for the sake of humanity, purchase a cooling off contract because chances are, once you take it to any reputable mechanic, they will most likely come up with issues. I understand there is nothing as a perfect used car, but there is such a thing as good customer service and being able to drive a safe vehicle off the lot. I am so pissed at this place that if you email me, I will provide all the documentation for my deal so that you can see for yourself to back up my review. Seriously, I have pictures, texts, everything. Don't buy a car here. Please. If you do, buy a life insurance policy first. read more

These guys are the best. Three days after buying my dream car (at a price below Blue Book) a freak failure happened within the engine. The engine needed to be pulled and rebuilt....yikes! Not only did these guys go outside of the standard warranty I signed and pay the entire cost of the repair (which was probably a 3rd of the car's sticker price) but they gave me a great loaner for the 6 weeks it took to get all the specialized parts in for the rebuild. No games, no BS, ...they just wanted to make it right. In the commonly unpleasant and swarthy world of used car lots.. these guys are different....AND they have a well picked selection of vehicles. If you're gonna buy a used car always have your mechanic take a full look at it...which these guys encourage, and at the very least just go by this place and take a look at their cars. As far as car lots go, this has been the best experience I've had despite the nightmare of needing the engine rebuilt. Highly Recommended. read more

I had contacted these guys via phone call because I was really interested in their 2007 FJ cruiser. I didn't want to waste my time seeing as how I live in Bakersfield so I asked a few questions and decided to go check it out. When I finally got there I walked into their office and asked to see the car. They had told me that I could go check it out while they grabbed the keys for a test drive. I spent 20 min waiting for them outside and noticed that all their cars were extremely dirty. Besides being dirty, the engine and bottom of the car was unbelievably corroded; it had looked like it was either ocean salt corrosion or a strong degreaser stripped the protective layer on the whole engine & electrical connections and corroded. So I was really disappointed and decided to check out a Mercedes G Class that they had nearby. However, I was really disappointed and overall angry to see that it had the exact same problem as the other vehicle. When I asked about the cars history, the sales person had no information to give me. This experience was really bad and I would not recommend going to this place for the purchase of any cars. They have good luxurious makes but it doesn't matter if they are going to be in rough to horrible condition. It's not worth it. The service is horrible as well, they act like they are not interested in selling anything. read more

The gentlemen said his name was Logan after we told him of our choice to look at the car he ask when would it be convenient for US to view the car. I liked that. We decided on a time and I did find the car was just what I had in mind.We started the paper work no rush no pressure to buy something more, as well Logan assured me if you didn't understand anything we will go over it again.
