While I was living in Las Vegas, my naturally thin nails (despite taking tons of supplements and applying daily nail oil!) experienced trauma during a fill, and all of my nails needed extra care afterward -- I spent seven months slugging them with nail oil and thick cream to help them recover. I was so happy to return to San Antonio after the long hiatus and get back in Eva's chair. Before applying gel, she did a very light buff to help protect my natural nails. Thanks to her careful technique, my nails can continue growing out healthy without any further damage. Beyond her skill and attention to nail health, Eva is also so creative and always wears the most inspirational designs. Her nails are fresh and you can clearly see the gel peeling away from her skin around the perimeter Of the nail. And the CUT on her, her nail is not irritation or sensitivity. If a nail is filed correctly, she would not be bleeding in a localized area in that nature. That's not irritation. TF? Very unprofessional to gaslight her. I have been frequenting this place for over a year and have recommended this place multiple times. But as of recently, I've been getting knicked, improperly filed down and had less than ideal results. The service has been inconsistent and it's sad to see this place go downhill. It's even more sad to see that management has not only gaslit me, but very clearly is doing it to other women.

I was trying to pick a color when she walked up to me and asked what color I wanted, I told her a soft pink and she said ok come with me. She painted my toes white. After getting the pedicure (part of it is a 4 min shoulder rub which is why I picked this pedicure) we moved onto nails, I figured she would do the shoulder part at the end so didn't think anything of it. My nail shape and length looked great but there were chunks of dried gel on and around my nails she left on that left them looking not as manicured as I would like and then she said "you're all done" and walked to the front so I could pay which was a bummer becuase I wanted the other part of the pedicure, otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much on a pedicure. Overall, ok experience, not bad but not my favorite. There's also no online booking option, you have to call and as a new patron I don't know which techs are available so I can try someone new if I don't have a great experience with someone else. May try again soon, we'll see.

I got there on time and checked in and they gave me some nail swatches to look thru. After a few minutes, they sat me in a Pedi chair. I continued looking at the swatches and saw Sandy still doing a Pedicure. I turned on the massager on the chair and just chilled out. When she finally got to me, we exchanged pleasantries because it had been awhile since I last saw her. She's very friendly, kind and personable. I like to develop relationships with my Self-Care peeps and it's important to me that they're engaging, talented and easy to get along with. Sandy is that type of person. She's fast and helps me out. I showed her my one broken nail that I told I kept trying to grow out but kept breaking and showed her my thin, scraggly nails. I told her I was trying to grow them out for months after I stopped using Dip Powders. She hooked me up and made them look pretty even if the nails weren't long. Kudos to her and thank you for not letting me feel embarrassed about the state of my toes and nails, LOL!! She'd just say "It's okay! I'll take care of you!" :-)

They have 7 nail stations and 8 pedicure chairs with massage. They usually have 4 nail technicians on duty. There are a ton of colors with a large amount available in regular & gel, and some in regular, gel & powder. They will have your tried & true "go-to" in stock as well as most trends. They usually offer complimentary beverages. If they don't, it was simply an oversight...just ask! There is a 5th guy there named John that seems to have his own thing going on. I've never seen him waiting around for customers. He seems to come in for, communicate with, and work on a set schedule of regular clients. If you are one of John's clients, maybe you could write a review detailing what that is all about. I'm usually a short, square, neutral gal, but the owner is happy to embellish me when I get a wild hair for design - think festival or holiday time. Since I'm customarily boring, I always tell her I'm planning design as early as possible so she can schedule appropriately & I don't F Up the remainder of her schedule. She can do aaalllll the things, but if you wait until go-time to request some outrageousness, she may not be able to work it in. They usually get walk ins seated within 5-20 minutes. If they can't get you in , they won't lie to you and have you waiting around for an hour. I have two primary reasons for sticking with a nail salon 1. Quality work. 2. Real people. I never understood people who don't communicate what they expect or say, "whatever you think is best" & then complain when a service isn't what they "expected." Every tech at Lotus has wanted to understand what I want and has worked their best to provide. Every one of them have been uber-nice & respectful to me if I decided on a mid-service change.....they were even nice about a post-service change once, but its probably because that is an extremely rare occurrence for me and I try to be nice & respectful in-kind. For the price we paid, I expect (and have received elsewhere) at least somewhat of a foot/leg massage during that time period. Not all of the paraffin was removed for my husband. Also, the woman doing his pedicure encouraged him to have his nails buffed, which he agreed to, but she did not mention there was an extra charge. This was already during the pedicure, so the service menu was not available at the the time (and as someone who does not get pedicures often, he had no idea that is something that would cost more). We arrived as walk-ins and they said they had availability for both of us. After having us go to our chairs, the woman arrived and started his pedicure while I sat at my chair (no water in the bowl to at least relax and soak). I waited almost 15 more minutes for mine to start. This made no sense since I would need polish removal, polish application, and time to dry. In these situations, it would make the most sense for a salon to start on the customer whose service would take longer. Overall, it was a very basic experience. We will choose one of many other options the next time.

I got a milk and honey pedicure and a fill-in on my nails with French shellac. Both service providers were friendly and did an excellent job. Free WiFi. They also offer complimentary drinks here so I sipped on tasty pina colodas during pedicure. Definitely recommend this place! Oh and they gave out free hand lotion as a holiday gift!
