I always have a great experience at Valencia Nails. Over the years, I've had a handful of nail techs take care of my nails, but Jenny has been the best so far. She is creative in her own ways, but is always sure to put her clients wants and needs first. When I bring her my ideas for my nails, she usually has some way to make it even better and I always leave loving what we put together. And I consistently get compliments on my nail designs. What I love most about having Jenny do my nails is that she takes so much care, including that I wash my hands so often being a nurse. I will continue to visit Valencia Nails for my nails and you should too. read more

Just got into town and I was looking for somewhere to get my nails done. My hotel recommended this place. I arrived and was able to get my services started without wait. I got a milk and honey pedicure and a fill-in on my nails with French shellac. Both service providers were friendly and did an excellent job. Free WiFi. They also offer complimentary drinks here so I sipped on tasty pina colodas during pedicure. Definitely recommend this place! Oh and they gave out free hand lotion as a holiday gift! read more

I had a young lady who was very slow to get started, I waited at least 10-15 minutes while she walked around the room, checked her phone etc. She didn't engage in any small talk, no greeting and she asked only what I was having done. Then she got her jars together and went to work. She didn't talk unless I initiated a question, or comment. I had my nails dipped, with a French manicure finish. They look pretty good, but some nails are longer than others, and the shapes don't all look the same, instead of scoval, some are flat and straight across the top. I will say, the first time I went to Valencia nails, I had a much better experience! I will go back again, and ask for a different technician. read more

Very welcoming & Friendly employees, but kinda hard to explain yourself due to language barrier. This was my first time ever getting a media & pedi so I'm very beginner at this. My husband and I visited here for pedicures. I wanted it to be a relaxing experience for him. It was not. No one seemed happy. It was rushed. They spoke in a language to one another we didn't understand. Very rude. The woman who did my husband's pedicure went so deep with what looked like a cheese grater that he could barely walk for a week. All of my polish chipped off after about 5 days. I've been wearing OPI for decades, never had that happen. Overall terrible experience and we will never recommend or return. read more

Valencia Nails on Bulverde Rd off 1604 cut my toe and made it bleed like crazy. I wish I could upload the picture of my bloody toe so you can see what it looked like after 3 attempts to stop the bleeding. They will not take responsibility. Don't patronize Valencia Nails unless you're willing to risk an infection. Amy and Ruby are the bad pedicurists. Andrew says he is the manager and owner. read more

Service: Tina has always done my manicure (normally acrylic but now back to natural). Sara/h and Daisy have been the two who have done my pedicures. They have always been amazing! I mean so nice and attentive truly. I always tip well because of that. They are good people! Quality: The issue I have is quality. I paid the same in Del Rio for better design work, evenness, thinner nails, etc. I've politely asked for adjustments here and there but sometimes you get tired of asking. Everyone here always seems to be in a bit of a rush and it's not as relaxing as I'd like it to be so I'm always ready to go by the end. I've been 5 times now and decided to start reverting to my natural nails because I can give more attention to the style and care. Pricing: For what you get, sometimes it's worth it... sometime it isn't. This is why it's a splurge I won't continue to do here and I'm tired of looking for a solid place in San Antonio. read more

The location is beautiful. Located in a nice area!!! However I have an issue with hidden fees. I came in today for a pink and white powder which per the website reads $55. Well they attempt to charge me $90 and the reason I was given was because I brought my own duck nails. I personally don't see why me bringing my own nails would result in the price increasing by $30. That's CRAZY! Update: 72 dollars later and I'll have to pay to get them redone. Don't waste your money with them please. I came to get my nails done for my birthday and they look HORRIBLE read more

I have been to this place at least 5 times now. I have had pretty good experiences every time. They serve you a drink and just let you disconnect and relax. I'm not particular with who actually does my pedicure but it's been good every time. Massage chairs, drinks and relaxation. What more can you want? Also... reasonably priced, normal pedicure is about $30 plus tip! I definitely recommend trying this place out!! read more

Love this place! I found them after visiting the smoothie king next door. I was a walk in and was seen very quickly. The location is very clean and welcoming with plenty of parking. They have a full bar and the piña coladas are delicious! Kim did my pedicure and it was amazing! She really took her time and didn't over exfoliate my feet like a lot of other places I tried. Now I make my appointments with her monthly and I'm so pleased I have even brought my mom and she loved it. Highly recommend this place and ask for Kim! read more

Great spa! I was a walk in on a busy Saturday and I got attention/pedi chair right away! They have so many pedi chairs and mani stations, I can't believe there'd ever be a wait. This place is much larger inside than it looks. I didn't make an appointment but it seemed quite a few people do. I had a pedicure and dip manicure. Tons of colors available...every color under the sun. They had plenty of employees on hand to take care of the steady flow of customers coming in. I'd consider this place to be better than your average nail salon....I will return. read more

This was my first professional manicure. I have been doing my own nails for awhile. I asked for the dip powder. I wish I remember my nail tech's name. She was very nice and my nails look great, but... She used dirty tools. She did not have me wash my hands first. I told her I still had a little dip powder on my nails from my last manicure. I confessed that I picked most of it off (like you're not supposed to). She filed a bit then literally picked more off!!! Her nail bits (for the nail drill) were in a little container. They looked dirty and dusty. After she used each one she just put it back in the same container. She did the same with a buffer. I watch enough nail videos to know that's not sanitary. I should have spoken up. I will not go back there. read more

I used to go all the time and always had good experiences, but went today and paid way more than what the service was worth. They rush through their work and aren't paying attention half the time. If you're going for a quick service it's fine, but you can pay a lot less for better service other places. The area is nice but that's about it. read more

Do NOT go to this nail salon. They need to be retrained and decertified. They charge high end prices for ghetto sloppy nails. They get upset if you tell them you want something specific or a correction. And they'll lie to you saying they can do something when they can't. I asked for xxlong gloss black coffin nails. They gave me ballerina shape, or moreso, oval nail shape with the tips cut off. They didn't even use the no curve tips, they used the cheap curved nail tips when I specifically stated I wanted straight and lied and said they could do it. They charged me $135 for mediocre nail sets, not a manicure and a pedicure. My hands and feet didn't touch water at all. There was no massage, no hot towels, no stones, no lotion, nothing of the standard services, just the nails and nothing more, and they did a horrible job. I immediately went to HEB to buy the remover. I HATE these nails and paid $135 for them. PLEASE see the included pictures. I am embarrassed of my hands right now. My nails are bumpy, not smooth. And it's not just my hands that are like this. My toes are bumpy too. read more

Guys, it's ok for us to go get a pedicure. Seriously. And once you've become comfortable with the idea, Valencia is a great option. Don't let the storefront fool you. The interior is loaded with chairs. You get a free drink with your pedi. The pedi itself includes trimming your nails, a foot and lower leg scrub and some other stuff that I don't even know what to call. All in all it's relaxing and it's good for you. At $30 it's also affordable. read more

So I came here to get a pedicure a little over a month ago (my toe nails typically take long to grow out) so I started peeling away the shellac that they had used on my toe nails only to reveal I have toenail fungus. I've never had toenail fungus in my life and it starts where the shellac starts which indicates to me I definitely received this from the salon. My toe nail is completely lifted from the skin in the area where the shellac is and it's a brown olive color. Just be careful and make sure the tools they use on you are coming from an unopened package and that they're sterile. Will never visit this salon again. read more

First of all I rarely make reviews unless it is a amazing or if there was a problem that could affect others, and in this case I feel it definitely can effect others. So for my review the service was nice the tech was great, nails came out great I got the dip powder. For the bad review my nails started falling off and chipped by 1 1/2 weeks. I rarely get nails done so don't know how long they are suppose to last, but thought that was pretty short time. Anyways as they where coming off I noticed my natural nails were very weak, they hurt to even open a box and I noticed discoloration at the tips, and my nails started lifting up, I went to the dermatologist and they told me it was a fungal infection so now I have to treat it and I writing the to warn others, I personally will never go back there EVER again!!!!! I can't tell other to not go back there but I just want to warn you..... also my sis in law went with me the same day and had the exact same experience with her nails so she is also treating her nails as well :( read more

Customer service was great but nails not so much. The dip came out super bulky and lopsided also had little bubbles. The shape of my nails weren't even the same. Also cut my toenails super short and the paint on them looks sloppy and rushed mainly bc it was rushed. Sadly wouldn't return. read more

I hardly ever leave a review, but I've now had two not great experiences so in my view it is a pattern. I had a pedicure and manicure today at Valencia. The pedicure was one of the best I've ever had and I would definitely leave a five star for the pedicure. The manicure was not good at all. I had asked for the wild orchid and gardenia and the manicurist just did a basic manicure. She did come back and apologize for that. However, she clipped one of the cuticles on my right hand. Not bad enough to bleed, but bad enough that it hurt. My left hand still has rough cuticles and the ends of my nails are not smooth - but rough. I said it was a pattern and the last time I was there and got a manicure/pedicure the pedicure was fine, but during the manicure the technician was clipping my cuticles and putting them on the back of my hand. When she went to rub lotion on my hand she did that with the cuticles there. It was gross, but I chalked that up to it being a one time event, but after today it seems like a pattern. Maybe it's just better to get them on separate days at Valencia. I've never done that so I don't know. As I said, for my experience I would rate my pedicure as a 5. The manicure both for today and the last time would both have to be rate a 1. I always try tip well, and I did tip the person who did the pedicure well today but I did not leave a tip for the person that did the manicure. This is the first time I've ever received a service and not left a tip, and frankly I feel a little regretful about that. When I was leaving and paying for my services today I did tell the young lady at the counter that my pedicure was amazing, but I was not happy with the manicure. I'm heading on vacation this week so didn't want to be difficult - but may go get another manicure tomorrow. Let me know if anyone has suggestions for places in this area. read more

Dip on natural nails by Hailey! I am in love! I called & made an appt for 3pm & was welcomed as soon as I entered the salon. I informed Hailey that my nails were thin & fragile. She took her time with the manicure & was sure to be gentle when buffing & filing my nails. I was in & out in less than an hour (including soaking off my old polish)! 10/10 recommend! I will be back. My nail shape and length looked great but there were chunks of dried gel on and around my nails she left on that left them looking not as manicured as I would like and then she said "you're all done" and walked to the front so I could pay which was a bummer becuase I wanted the other part of the pedicure, otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much on a pedicure. Overall, ok experience, not bad but not my favorite. There's also no online booking option, you have to call and as a new patron I don't know which techs are available so I can try someone new if I don't have a great experience with someone else. I got there on time and checked in and they gave me some nail swatches to look thru. After a few minutes, they sat me in a Pedi chair. I continued looking at the swatches and saw Sandy still doing a Pedicure. I turned on the massager on the chair and just chilled out. When she finally got to me, we exchanged pleasantries because it had been awhile since I last saw her. She's very friendly, kind and personable. I like to develop relationships with my Self-Care peeps and it's important to me that they're engaging, talented and easy to get along with. Sandy is that type of person. She's fast and helps me out. I showed her my one broken nail that I told I kept trying to grow out but kept breaking and showed her my thin, scraggly nails. I told her I was trying to grow them out for months after I stopped using Dip Powders. She hooked me up and made them look pretty even if the nails weren't long. Kudos to her and thank you for not letting me feel embarrassed about the state of my toes and nails, LOL!! She'd just say "It's okay! I'll take care of you!" :-)

They have 7 nail stations and 8 pedicure chairs with massage. They usually have 4 nail technicians on duty. There are a ton of colors with a large amount available in regular & gel, and some in regular, gel & powder. They will have your tried & true "go-to" in stock as well as most trends. They usually offer complimentary beverages. If they don't, it was simply an oversight...just ask! There is a 5th guy there named John that seems to have his own thing going on. I've never seen him waiting around for customers. He seems to come in for, communicate with, and work on a set schedule of regular clients. If you are one of John's clients, maybe you could write a review detailing what that is all about. I'm usually a short, square, neutral gal, but the owner is happy to embellish me when I get a wild hair for design - think festival or holiday time. Since I'm customarily boring, I always tell her I'm planning design as early as possible so she can schedule appropriately & I don't F Up the remainder of her schedule. She can do aaalllll the things, but if you wait until go-time to request some outrageousness, she may not be able to work it in. They usually get walk ins seated within 5-20 minutes. If they can't get you in , they won't lie to you and have you waiting around for an hour. I have two primary reasons for sticking with a nail salon 1. Quality work. 2. Real people. I never understood people who don't communicate what they expect or say, "whatever you think is best" & then complain when a service isn't what they "expected." Every tech at Lotus has wanted to understand what I want and has worked their best to provide. Every one of them have been uber-nice & respectful to me if I decided on a mid-service change.....they were even nice about a post-service change once, but its probably because that is an extremely rare occurrence for me and I try to be nice & respectful in-kind. As we engaged in conversation I learned this salon is new under new ownership and is in transition to a new name "Yvonne Nails and Spa. Family owned. Lovely couple. I decided to book a massage at the Windflower Spa as a birthday gift from my boyfriend. I had just…read morehad my second baby three months prior and was really looking forward to my first outing without my kids needing anything from me. With busy schedules, I found a day that worked for everyone and booked my appointment. I arrived about an hour early so I could enjoy the hot tub before my massage. I was also planning to take advantage of the spa amenities afterward and grab lunch at one of the restaurants. About 10 minutes before my appointment, I put on my robe and headed to the waiting area. As my appointment time came and went, I watched every other guest get called back for their massages while I continued to wait. After another 10 minutes had passed, I finally went to the front desk to ask what was going on. The manager came out and informed me that there had been a miscommunication and my massage therapist was unable to make it to work that day. Unfortunately, there were no other therapists available and no alternative appointment times. I was simply told they were sorry and that I would need to reschedule. At that point, I broke down in tears. This wasn't just a massage, it was my birthday gift and my first opportunity to step away from the chaos and demands of postpartum life. Having that experience taken away without any notice was incredibly disappointing. To their credit, they did offer me a complimentary massage whenever I am able to rebook, which I appreciated and accepted. However, this was a very disappointing first impression. A simple phone call before I arrived could have saved me the time, effort, childcare arrangements, and emotional letdown.
