I had a young lady who was very slow to get started, I waited at least 10-15 minutes while she walked around the room, checked her phone etc. She didn't engage in any small talk, no greeting and she asked only what I was having done. Then she got her jars together and went to work. She didn't talk unless I initiated a question, or comment. I had my nails dipped, with a French manicure finish. They look pretty good, but some nails are longer than others, and the shapes don't all look the same, instead of scoval, some are flat and straight across the top. I will say, the first time I went to Valencia nails, I had a much better experience! I will go back again, and ask for a different technician. read more

I always have a great experience at Valencia Nails. Over the years, I've had a handful of nail techs take care of my nails, but Jenny has been the best so far. She is creative in her own ways, but is always sure to put her clients wants and needs first. When I bring her my ideas for my nails, she usually has some way to make it even better and I always leave loving what we put together. And I consistently get compliments on my nail designs. What I love most about having Jenny do my nails is that she takes so much care, including that I wash my hands so often being a nurse. Just got into town and I was looking for somewhere to get my nails done. My hotel recommended this place. I arrived and was able to get my services started without wait. I got a milk and honey pedicure and a fill-in on my nails with French shellac. Both service providers were friendly and did an excellent job. Free WiFi. They also offer complimentary drinks here so I sipped on tasty pina colodas during pedicure. Definitely recommend this place! Oh and they gave out free hand lotion as a holiday gift! read more

My husband and I visited here for pedicures. I wanted it to be a relaxing experience for him. It was not. No one seemed happy. It was rushed. They spoke in a language to one another we didn't understand. Very rude. The woman who did my husband's pedicure went so deep with what looked like a cheese grater that he could barely walk for a week. All of my polish chipped off after about 5 days. I've been wearing OPI for decades, never had that happen. Overall terrible experience and we will never recommend or return. read more

Service: Tina has always done my manicure (normally acrylic but now back to natural). Sara/h and Daisy have been the two who have done my pedicures. They have always been amazing! I mean so nice and attentive truly. I always tip well because of that. They are good people! Quality: The issue I have is quality. I paid the same in Del Rio for better design work, evenness, thinner nails, etc. I've politely asked for adjustments here and there but sometimes you get tired of asking. Everyone here always seems to be in a bit of a rush and it's not as relaxing as I'd like it to be so I'm always ready to go by the end. I've been 5 times now and decided to start reverting to my natural nails because I can give more attention to the style and care. Pricing: For what you get, sometimes it's worth it... sometime it isn't. This is why it's a splurge I won't continue to do here and I'm tired of looking for a solid place in San Antonio. read more

The location is beautiful. Located in a nice area!!! However I have an issue with hidden fees. I came in today for a pink and white powder which per the website reads $55. Well they attempt to charge me $90 and the reason I was given was because I brought my own duck nails. I personally don't see why me bringing my own nails would result in the price increasing by $30. I have been to this place at least 5 times now. I have had pretty good experiences every time. They serve you a drink and just let you disconnect and relax. I'm not particular with who actually does my pedicure but it's been good every time. Massage chairs, drinks and relaxation. What more can you want? Also... reasonably priced, normal pedicure is about $30 plus tip! I definitely recommend trying this place out!! read more

Love this place! I found them after visiting the smoothie king next door. I was a walk in and was seen very quickly. The location is very clean and welcoming with plenty of parking. They have a full bar and the piña coladas are delicious! Kim did my pedicure and it was amazing! She really took her time and didn't over exfoliate my feet like a lot of other places I tried. This was my first professional manicure. I have been doing my own nails for awhile. I asked for the dip powder. I wish I remember my nail tech's name. She was very nice and my nails look great, but... She used dirty tools. She did not have me wash my hands first. I told her I still had a little dip powder on my nails from my last manicure. I confessed that I picked most of it off (like you're not supposed to). She filed a bit then literally picked more off!!! Her nail bits (for the nail drill) were in a little container. They looked dirty and dusty. After she used each one she just put it back in the same container. She did the same with a buffer. I watch enough nail videos to know that's not sanitary. Do NOT go to this nail salon. They need to be retrained and decertified. They charge high end prices for ghetto sloppy nails. They get upset if you tell them you want something specific or a correction. And they'll lie to you saying they can do something when they can't. I asked for xxlong gloss black coffin nails. They gave me ballerina shape, or moreso, oval nail shape with the tips cut off. They didn't even use the no curve tips, they used the cheap curved nail tips when I specifically stated I wanted straight and lied and said they could do it. They charged me $135 for mediocre nail sets, not a manicure and a pedicure. My hands and feet didn't touch water at all. There was no massage, no hot towels, no stones, no lotion, nothing of the standard services, just the nails and nothing more, and they did a horrible job. I immediately went to HEB to buy the remover. I HATE these nails and paid $135 for them. PLEASE see the included pictures. I am embarrassed of my hands right now. My nails are bumpy, not smooth. And it's not just my hands that are like this. My toes are bumpy too. read more

Guys, it's ok for us to go get a pedicure. Seriously. And once you've become comfortable with the idea, Valencia is a great option. Don't let the storefront fool you. The interior is loaded with chairs. You get a free drink with your pedi. The pedi itself includes trimming your nails, a foot and lower leg scrub and some other stuff that I don't even know what to call. All in all it's relaxing and it's good for you. So I came here to get a pedicure a little over a month ago (my toe nails typically take long to grow out) so I started peeling away the shellac that they had used on my toe nails only to reveal I have toenail fungus. I've never had toenail fungus in my life and it starts where the shellac starts which indicates to me I definitely received this from the salon. My toe nail is completely lifted from the skin in the area where the shellac is and it's a brown olive color. Just be careful and make sure the tools they use on you are coming from an unopened package and that they're sterile. Will never visit this salon again. read more

I hardly ever leave a review, but I've now had two not great experiences so in my view it is a pattern. I had a pedicure and manicure today at Valencia. The pedicure was one of the best I've ever had and I would definitely leave a five star for the pedicure. The manicure was not good at all. I had asked for the wild orchid and gardenia and the manicurist just did a basic manicure. She did come back and apologize for that. However, she clipped one of the cuticles on my right hand. Not bad enough to bleed, but bad enough that it hurt. My left hand still has rough cuticles and the ends of my nails are not smooth - but rough. I said it was a pattern and the last time I was there and got a manicure/pedicure the pedicure was fine, but during the manicure the technician was clipping my cuticles and putting them on the back of my hand. When she went to rub lotion on my hand she did that with the cuticles there. It was gross, but I chalked that up to it being a one time event, but after today it seems like a pattern. Maybe it's just better to get them on separate days at Valencia. I've never done that so I don't know. As I said, for my experience I would rate my pedicure as a 5. The manicure both for today and the last time would both have to be rate a 1. I always try tip well, and I did tip the person who did the pedicure well today but I did not leave a tip for the person that did the manicure. This is the first time I've ever received a service and not left a tip, and frankly I feel a little regretful about that. When I was leaving and paying for my services today I did tell the young lady at the counter that my pedicure was amazing, but I was not happy with the manicure. I'm heading on vacation this week so didn't want to be difficult - but may go get another manicure tomorrow. Let me know if anyone has suggestions for places in this area. read more

First of all I rarely make reviews unless it is a amazing or if there was a problem that could affect others, and in this case I feel it definitely can effect others. So for my review the service was nice the tech was great, nails came out great I got the dip powder. For the bad review my nails started falling off and chipped by 1 1/2 weeks. I rarely get nails done so don't know how long they are suppose to last, but thought that was pretty short time. Anyways as they where coming off I noticed my natural nails were very weak, they hurt to even open a box and I noticed discoloration at the tips, and my nails started lifting up, I went to the dermatologist and they told me it was a fungal infection so now I have to treat it and I writing the to warn others, I personally will never go back there EVER again!!!!! I can't tell other to not go back there but I just want to warn you..... also my sis in law went with me the same day and had the exact same experience with her nails so she is also treating her nails as well :( read more
