Was so excited to go for breakfast recently, but didn't appreciate the long string of hair in my omelet. At least it was human hair; the place prides itself on being 'dog friendly', so be prepared to share your space with at least one four-legged friend. Servers stop to pet the dogs, then handle the food, pet another dog, take another plate to a table...I love dogs of all types, just not necessarily that close to my own food. We finally made it to Stella's for breakfast and what shame we took so long to do so! On a beautiful but chilly morning we chose to sit outside. It was very busy so we had about a 20 minute wait. Once seated service was prompt. We ordered the crab cake appetizer that came with a warning from the server that the spicy sauce that's drizzled on it is legit spicy and can be put on the side if we wanted. We love spicy. More times than not we find things people think are spicy are not at all spicy to us. Well, this was spicy and we loved it! Hubs ordered the spicy bloody Mary and he enjoyed it. Think you guys could do better with the olives though. Those are some teenie olives! He had French toast and seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the BLT with fried green tomatoes. Holy cow! I will be dreaming of this sandwich! I didn't even fuss that the swiss cheese I asked to have added didn't make it on. I pointed it out to the server and she brought me a slice to put on the half I had left. Coleslaw was fresh and that's what I chose as a side because apparently the fries are not reliable as far as crispness, per the server. So, that's kinda weird. Lunch for three today. Came at noon and were seated right away, however no server acknowledged our presence for almost 5 minutes. Asked a server who said he would get our server who then showed up in about a minute and asked for drink orders. she had previously passed our table a dozen times. No hello, no name, no sorry to keep you waiting. She was clearly upset and couldn't get past it to provide professional service. banging our drinks on the table, dropping our dinners on the table, no follow up until our meals were essentially finished. Walking in charming little Gulfport and finding this cute looking place seemed pretty promising. But the first cup of coffee I ordered had crusty food on it, the second had lipstick, and at that point I gave up on coffee. The water had crumbs floating in it, and when I peaked over at the next table lipstick rimmed their glasses of orange juice as well. It was a cute small place and had a good menu but I would not go back. I ordered eggs and bacon and it took almost a half hour to get my food and the restaurant was almost empty. We brunch it up here almost every week. Usually very friendly staff and excellent location. Food is good for the most part. The shrimp and grits have potential but definitely need work..a different sauce and no raw onions. The fried green tomatoes are the best!!!!! They need better sangria/mimosa specials (we only eat here and go over to Saltys for drink deals). The hangover burger is a favorite as is the teddy bear breakfast. read more

Stella's does not live up to its hype and definitely does not deserve its Best of the Bay rating. After going there several times, ordering a wide breadth of breakfast food, the general consensus is that the food has a generally soggy feel to it, like it was sitting in the kitchen for far too long. The waffle was burnt on the outside, and it was still not crisp. The menu explicitly stated that it would be served hot, but it was, at most, served lukewarm. Along with the waffles, the benedicts, burritos, and omelettes proved to be disappointing and poorly cooked breakfasts. The only redeeming quality, and the reason why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, is that their fried green tomatoes are pretty good. Bottom line, if you want to wait 30 minutes to an hour for consistently below average breakfast, go to Stella's. There is much better in Gulfport. read more

We decided to give Stella's another chance this morning since our 1st experience was not great. We sat at counter this morning and were waited on very quickly. As I turned my attention to the kitchen I saw the 2 cook with no gloves on at all. Saw one of the cooks pick up poached eggs with bare hands. Disgusting!!!! He was also talking on cell phone before that! I saw him finally put one glove on. One glove? Really? The other cook continuously wiped forehead as he cooked. I'm thinking if the health inspector walked in Stella's would have been written up. I had my waffle and left. Will never go back. read more

It was a Monday morning in sleepy Gulfport. Looking for bunch, we quickly discovered that most restaurants were closed. Luckily, while searching on Beach Blvd my cousin and I (a couple of young adults) were merrily greeted by Brian, a gentleman of the wait staff. This restaurant had both indoor and patio dining, the shade from the umbrellas made for a pleasant brunch. Patio dining is suitable for furry friends, equipped with small water bowls. Brian served with a great sense of urgency, making sure to bring our waters as soon as we sat. I really enjoyed his personal flare to his uniform, a bright pink bandanna, very flattering. He was able to suggest menu items that tailored to my eating restrictions, I'm vegan and my cousin is ovo-lacto-pescetarian. OUR MEALS WERE DELICIOUS. Excellent price for wholesome, fresh food. I had a veggie wrap without cheese. This wrap had all my favorites: avocado, mushrooms, onions, tomato, and spinach. Served with crispy potato fries. He suggested Italian dressing to dip my wrap and I'm glad he did because it complimented perfectly (even the fries.) He impressed the dickens out of us with his serious menu knowledge and fabulous use of descriptive words. The food runner was very warm and inviting with a calm attitude, I bet she's a pleasure to work with. I have not one complaint about our experience and we'll be back. read more

Well, I used to love this place, however, today we popped in and sat at the counter facing the kitchen.... We received out iced tea, and it was sour/old, they were very accomidating and made more fresh tea, but just dumped the old tea into basically a hand sink and rinsed the container before putting new tea in. It got way worse from there.. I ordered and then watched as the cook proceeded to touch her nose, face and raw foods then build sandwiches with no gloves and not washing her hands. I was so grossed out, when our food came I had asked for my bread to be toasted and it wasn't so I sent it back and watched as it sat on the counter and the cook proceeded to scratch her face and nose and reach for my sandwich, I cancelled my order and as my husband ate a few bites someone ordered a bloody Mary and the waitress made that drink without washing her hands and reached into the tray with lemons, limes ECT and touched them.. then there was a bin of cooked bacon used for drinks on the counter that had numerous bugs crawling on it. Holy cow, good thing I'm just a grossed out Customer and not the Health department. Consumer beware, that's just what I observed in about 25 minutes. read more

First time visiting the area and found Stella's on Yelp. My boyfriend and I pulled up to a packed outdoor seating area, and I was expecting a wait, but they were able to seat us immediately inside. Lots of stuff on the menu I was interested in trying, but I landed on the crab cake benedict (a special) and he had the shrimp and grits. Other then the grits needing a little extra salt, both were delicious. My hash browns were seasoned well and poached eggs were perfect! Crab cake was flavorful and fresh as well. VERY DISAPPOINTED..... I was bringing my girlfriend here this past Sunday because in the past I have had good experiences. But this past visit was horrific. We came up to the hostess stand to find out what the wait time was , we were told 20 mins.... not a problem so about 25 mins goes by and we are seated order drinks and before we got our drinks the hostess asked us to get up because she gave us someone else's table WTF... so we get up with out a issue at this moment . So we go and wait by the hostess stand .... we watch 3 other parties get seated because they had "reservations" lmfao and then people who came after us get seated right away ... I walk back up to the so called " hostess" and she is completely worthless to busy petting dogs and having her head up her ass. She informs me that I wanted outside seating only which I stated was incorrect and she tried to tell me that's what I told her ....,until I showed her on her own wait list it said FIRST AVAILABLE..... so at that point I TRIED TO PAY .... for my lady's bloody Mary which was whole another mess .... so we just left .... I WONT BE BACK ANYTIME SOON ... they need a person that can run a host stand properly ... the worse part there were 2 adults that couldn't handle the job . It's really disappointing that the owners and or managers have people running the front of the house SO POORLY .... I guess I just need to cross this one off the list for awhile until they get there shit together. read more
