I've liked the food when I've been here but the service is horrible. I guess they charge $3 extra for a caesar salad (when they ask you what salad you want.. the salad that is included with you entree...?) but don't tell you about it. We found out when it was on the bill. We told our server and she said it was on the menu, but it wasn't when she checked again. The server talked to the manager for like 5 minutes about it and came back and said "there isn't a way to remove the charge." So because of their mistake to include it on the menu or to have the server mention it, we had to pay extra, when there is definitely a way to remove it or make a new ticket. I don't really care about $6 but it just shows they care more about it than making it right. So if you go in anytime from here on out, just know they will up charge you on things that aren't on the menu and the server won't tell you about it. read more

We read the article in the Standard and decided to try Stellas the next time we were in Ogden (we're from California but spend quite a bit of time in Ogden) as we seemed to always go to the same places. We found all the staff we interacted with to be very warm, cheerful and helpful. The food was awesome starting with the warm bread!! Warning - careful with how much bread you eat as the portions on the entrees will definitely fill you! We started with a stuffed zucchini appetizer which sounded "different" and it did not disappoint. Both my wife and I were very happy with our entrees. As part of your entree you select a soup or a salad so she selected the soup and I the salad. I immediately was jealous- trust me, order the Butternut Soup!!!!! We had to "tap out" and pass on dessert so no opinion there. We're here a few more days before heading back to CA but we have already decided we're going back this week! You need to add Stella's to your Ogden rotation! There are so many wonderful places to eat here and Stella's makes a great addition to our city. There is finally a place on 25th Street that has a nicer feel for a special occasion (although we just stopped in for a casual date night). We are already planning on coming back for Valentine's Day. If you are a fellow Mt. Dew lover, rest assured this place has Pepsi products! First point right there. We got the cheese fondue appetizer, oh my goodness! So rich & flavorful! Another point! Our entrees we're good. My husband said the Stella's Rustica was the best Italian food he has ever had. I did not love the Chicken Saltimbocca, but it was ok. I will try something else next time The best thing in my opinion was the chocolate mousse! That alone would have me coming back. It was fantastic. Try Stella's! Came here was some coworkers. We were able to walk here from the hotel. I love that it was close and accessible. The server, Paige, was great. She was attentive and timely. I ordered the Chicken Parm. The chicken almost filled the entire plate. I was a little sad that the chicken was dry and tasteless. The breading had flavor, but not the chicken itself. We had a wonderful dinner at Stella's last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first visit, and the restaurant had a perfect date night atmosphere. We made a reservation online, but probably didn't need to since it was Monday night and not super busy. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the building beautiful. The complimentary bread was good but seemed a little flat and doughy, like it hadn't risen properly. Not what I expected given a few reviewers who raves about their bread. But we were hungry and the bread was ok, so we ate it anyway. Our salads were a basic spring mix with some carrot curls, grape tomatoes, and cucumber slices. What made them better than average were the house-made croutons. Our entrées were perfect! My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs, which he loved. I had the tagliatelle bolognese which had a delicious meaty flavor with just the right amount of cheese. I'm constantly on the hunt for an Italian restaurant with fabulous fresh-made pasta, not sure this hit the mark on that, but it was definitely good enough to warrant a return visit. read more

This was the first restaurant that we chose to eat out in having just moved to Ogden (granted it came recommended). The food was phenomenal- we had the chicken parm and the frutti de mare. SO GOOD. We are staying within walking distance of this gem. After reading reviews we decided to give it a try. It was so good, we are taking the grandkids tomorrow. Huge portions. Delicious food. Wonderful server named Chantel. Do not pass this restaurant up, the meal would have easily cost $30 more anywhere else. The ambience is great too. Located on a very old and historic street trying hard to revitalize and reinvent itself. Reminds me of classic inner city spots that are slowly being plowed under. Throughly enjoyed my first visit to Stella's. Very delicious. We were able to be seated right away on a Saturday night around 5pm. Our waitress and hostess were friendly and attentive. Didn't take long before we were served our food and drinks. Our entrées were perfection. Every dish on the menu mentioned various different high quality ingredients. A lil pricey. But you do get what you pay for and thats worth it in my book. Our deserts were our only less than satisfactory experience. Tiramisu was okay , but the cheese cake was oddly not good. Went there last night and was excited. My wife ordered the beef stroganoff. She said it tasted off a little and realized there were pieces of salmon in her food. Good thing shes not allergic to salmon. Cross contamination in a kitchen is the reason why we will not be coming back. Our waitress was nice, but when she cashed us out, she disappeared. Turns out, instead of walking past us and dropping our cards off on her way to the bathroom, she decided to walk past us, take ten minutes in the bathroom, then walk back down, grab our cards, and drop them off. We came to this place for our anniversary and it was the best experience we've had since moving to Utah. It was amazing, the service was excellent and this will definitely be our date night spot from now on. Thank you so much to the host for a warm welcome and added history of the location .. and to our server, Gino, for making our evening so elegant. We enjoyed the in-house baked bread with olive oil and balsamic dip, ordered the bruschetta appetizer (omg, whatever balsamic they had for this was to die for), the linguine special with muscles (seriously, what is in that sauce), the cream of zucchini soup (had no clue what we were missing in our lives), and tomato bisque soup, the filet mignon special, medium rare (it was like butter), with mashed potatoes and asparagus in these amazing sauces, a beautiful cheesecake, and two bottles of white and red wine. The whole experience was just that, an amazing experience. The lounge music, the lighting, the feel .. it was perfect. I put myself through the University waiting tables at high-end restaurants the salad should've been prepared by the waitress staff and in chilled salad plates. My wife and I went there one evening just wanted to try someplace new. The ambiance and the fact that it was a smaller more quaint dining experience was very enjoyable. The staff there was extremely helpful, polite, fun, and very attentive to our needs. When we got our food we are very surprised by the quality and size of the portions, I'm a pretty big guy and can usually eat most things in front of me but I was so full after having the chicken parmigiana I actually had leftovers( which were really good to). We came in for a date night, it was delicious. My husband got the sea bass and I got the butternut squash ravioli, both were good but the ravioli was the clear winner. In fact it may be one of the best pasta dishes I have ever eaten. Our server, Donnie, was wonderful, kind and attentive. He had clear pride in where he was working. He told us that they make the cream sauces to order instead of having them all pre-made, I'm sure that that played a roll in why it was so good. After our meal he invited us to check out their party space downstairs which was a speak easy during prohibition, oh my goodness! I wish I had need of a private party space, it was incredible. Finally managed to make it here for dinner. They are open for dine in. It really is a very nice restaurant. Great ambiance. Nice decor. Certainly a great place to celebrate a special occasion. With that said, we arrived right after work in jeans and did not feel out of place. We were seated immediately and had drinks and bread right after. Our server Tammy was great and checked on us regularly and didn't give us any reason to complain. We started with the Cheese Fonduta appetizer. It was good and hot with a strong blue cheese flavor. That was followed by my Lentil Soup and a salad. Finally for the main course, I ordered lasagne and the wife ordered Beef Stroganoff. Both were fantastic and very filling. There are definitely left overs from this. To top off dinner, we ordered the house made chocolate mousse. It is super chocolaty yet very light and the berries on top are a nice counterpoint. We're inundated with restaurants that are competing to have the least possible formality and decorum. Mason jars... kitschy decor... platters for plates... sloppy food presentation... Service was not that great either, our waitress brought wrong appetizer, failed to give us breadsticks and forgot many times when needed extra stuff. One last thing the chef didn't come out to apologize about anything nor ask how food was. I decided to give this place a second chance because I was craving lasagna, but this was my last order here. I DoorDashed. Our dasher was amazing. But Stella's staff gave us the wrong order. One of us got their spaghetti, but it had a huge clump of cheese at the bottom of the pan. I have made WAY better spaghetti, and I'm only a home cook. Our side salads were warm and we had to refrigerate them before they were edible. I got raspberry vinegrette for mine, and it was bitter and very unpleasant. Somehow, we got an order of calamari, neither of us are seafood people, and we most definitely didn't order it, but I decided to taste it, since I'd never tasted that kind of seafood before, and it was horrible. I mean, as a person who doesn't like most seafood, I guess it's a good thing that all I got was breading, but I can't imagine ordering this if I did love seafood. I pulled the breading off of several of the pieces, and what meat there was, was completely dried up like jerky. It was just gross. My lasagna was completely left off in the first delivery, my dasher was good enough to go back and pick it up, thanks to her. But this lasagna is SO dry, and it's all stuck to the bottom of the tin it came in, and it's SO overcooked, and the sauce is nearly invisible. I've had better lasagna from a TV dinner. I won't be ordering from these guys again. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I'm seriously disappointed and angry that I spent nearly $70 on this garbage right now. read more

The butternut squash ravioli is, hands down, the best meal I have ever had out at a restaurant or takeout. So thats HUGE. It was recommended by our friendly server last time we were there. But I've been to Stellas a handful of times and have always been well cared for. The food is always to satisfaction and although its a fine dining experience, they are affordable. I was a little nervous that being the more upscale Italian restaurant on the street, it would be over priced and portions would be small. That is not the case! The hostess said it doesn't get busy I told about 6, she was right. The food was excellent! I ordered the lamb which as cooked/seasoned very well. Most places have a difficult time getting lamb right, this place didn't have that problem. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. The bread they served with the oil is very rustic and and dense, which I liked it a lot, even though other people didn't seem enjoy it as much. Food is absolutely incredible. Me and my family ate there on Saturday. Although it was fairly busy, food and service was very prompt. Our server, Donovan, was an absolute delight. He recommended an appetizer for us, the spinach and artichoke dip which was to die for. After not steering us wrong with the app he helped recommend our entrees. I got the carbonara which was by far the best food I've had in Ogden. We will be back and we will definitely be requesting Donovan.
