Fantastic pilsner that I highly recommend!
    Alden C.

Hmmm. I'm hovering four or five stars on this one. Well, I will go ahead and round up I suppose and keep it positive. Steve and I had three different beers from this brewery. Two were New England IPA'S and one was a pilsner. One of the New England IPA'S was called Unicorn Rides. Not too bad of a New England IPA. This one was a Double. This beer had notes of white grapes and pine. It made the beer good and a bit different yet at the same time nothing that bowled me over. That will come later in this brewery experience. That's My Ride was the other New England IPA that I had. This one was a hazy and had tropical fruit flavors accented by vanilla and mint. Again, not a bad New England IPA and appreciate that the beer recipes tasted differently between the two IPA'S (Yes. I've had beers with two different names that taste exactly the same). What really impressed was the Mörë Ümlaüt. This pilsner wow'ed both of us with it's sweetness(subtle sweetness) and breadiness that I simply love experiencing when tasting a good pilsner and this pilsner definitely falls into that category. So on that beer alone I have to push this brewery into five star territory.

This old cymbals warehouse in an industrial area is fantastic. I love this family brewery. It's a great place to kick back on a Sunday, have a few beers and play some of the games available. On Saturday nights, the atmosphere changes from family and games to a social place that is true brewery culture, with really good crafted brews. I really like the 4oz mini drinks, I get to try many of the great varieties. The addition of the occasional food trucks on site makes this a beer drinkers paradise. I will be back.

So the beer here is solid. I tried all four beers available on tap. The Modulation 2 and Invisible Airwaves were my favorites. The one beer I def will pass on in the future is the Grazing Saddles, way too chocolate-y for my taste. So the 3 star rating is for the bad acoustics in the drinking hall and the amount of children there the day I visited. Their tiny playful screams pierced your ears as you tried to enjoy your beer. The outside area is lovely but these same children were outside unsupervised by their parents. They would sit next to me and yell through me to the other kids playing in the forest. I don't know what Stellwagen can do about this other than perhaps putting up a sign to not allow children outside unsupervised?(Something like.....No dogs or children allowed outside unsupervised?) Keep up the good beer and sorry so many parents bring their children here for play dates.

This is a BREWERY. People who review this place for its bad acoustics or warehouse feel may not have been to a lot of breweries before. This place is great and has everything I want in a brewery: wide assortment of beers, flights, pints, and cans to go, board games to play inside, cornhole outside, tons of seating, excellent oldies playlist, and super helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Elder and Hansen were both avid homebrewers and met after they were both simultaneously hired to work for Georgetown Brewing in Seattle. Elder, originally from the East Coast, planned to return there to start his own brewery. Hansen decided to join him on the move and the business venture. Greene, a longtime craft beer lover who had worked for Google, also decided to come on board as a partner. They built a 5,000-sq-ft production facility in Scituate to house their brewing system. It was built next to a historic 19th century schoolhouse, which they repurposed as their taproom. The name "Untold" was inspired by the Maya Angelou quote, "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." The brewery soon became notable for their West Coast-style IPAs, Hazy IPAs, and clean lagers. Hansen and Greene later stepped down from the brewery to pursue new projects. A secondary location opened at the Derby Street Shops in Hingham in November 2022, but closed in March 2024. An even larger secondary location opened at the Harborwalk Development at Cordage Park in Plymouth in February 2024. I recently visited Untold Brewing's Plymouth location while I was in town for the day. I was scheduled to meet up with some other beer bloggers; it was actually my first visit to Plymouth. I soon realized that Plymouth has an excellent craft beer scene. Untold's taproom is spacious and inviting. They had a dozen beers on tap that day. Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Sunny Sea", "Island Kingdom", and "New England Golf Trip": all Hazy IPAs. I really enjoyed all three, which were refreshing and juicy with nice fruity notes. I paired them with a wood-fired pizza I ordered from a mobile pizza oven that was there that day. Overall, I had a great experience at Untold Brewing and I would love to visit their original Scituate location in the future!

The Fermentary carries other local breweries' beer - Widowmaker, Vitamin Sea, Stellwagen, etc. They also carry all natural wines and have some snacks to munch on (the pretzel and queso are really good!). They made some nice upgrades. It seems brighter and maybe more seating. Only "negatives" we've seen are that they are very heavy on IPAs (mostly double and triples, the couple times we've been), which isn't too bad for us, because we really only drink IPAs, but if you're looking for a lager or an ale, your options might be limited. Also, they don't have cable, so if it's a local game you're trying to catch, you'll be out of luck. Notice they've had some events held there - seems like it would be a great spot for that (nice open space with fireplace and tv). This will definitely be our go-to for a laid back afternoon/early evening, quick drink or two. Definitely check it out!

It was a mixed bag of responses from our group, seated past any lunch rush in a nearly empty dining room. A day after St. Patrick's day, I tried a special of Beef Stew. I found it was . . . meh at best, A little too salty for my taste, and it seemed to be getting down to the end of it. One potato wedge, 2 carrot slices, a few bobbles of stew beef and a lot of thick, over-salted stew. The accompanying wedge of soda bread had 2 hefty butter slices that couldn't save the dryness, but Irish soda bread is always a hit or miss prospect. On the other hand, a takeout Wedge Salad had everything I could dream of putting on a wedge of iceberg, accompanied by a healthy piece of delicious salmon that was cooked perfectly. A Reuben sandwich was full and seemed to please one of our party- the most difficult one to please - and the giant pile of french fries that cozied up to it looked like twice-cooked salty goodness. The third in our party had a simple Garden Salad that, like the Wedge, looked like it was a good salad. Coffee was good, and served alongside a little tray of a petite creamer, sugar and a single spoon was just a simple but sweet touch on a gloomy day. For me, the standout was the responsive waitstaff- servers were professional, informative about the menu and friendly without being overly pushy to order - the best combination. Overall, it was good and probably would be a lot better with more careful menu choices next time. And I'll definitely return for another Wedge Salad!
