Decent Beers Nice bright place to try some local brew! Brought my own Growler to fill up just in case the libations were good! Woops they don't fill any but their own! Their growler is small like a liter! Tried the Folded Space Stout and another version of it with coconut! Both pretty good! Interesting Patrons and a 30th Birthday Party was ongoing! Hmmm. I'm hovering four or five stars on this one. Well, I will go ahead and round up I suppose and keep it positive. Steve and I had three different beers from this brewery. Two were New England IPA'S and one was a pilsner. One of the New England IPA'S was called Unicorn Rides. Not too bad of a New England IPA. This one was a Double. This beer had notes of white grapes and pine. It made the beer good and a bit different yet at the same time nothing that bowled me over. That will come later in this brewery experience. That's My Ride was the other New England IPA that I had. This one was a hazy and had tropical fruit flavors accented by vanilla and mint. Again, not a bad New England IPA and appreciate that the beer recipes tasted differently between the two IPA'S (Yes. I've had beers with two different names that taste exactly the same). What really impressed was the Mörë Ümlaüt. This pilsner wow'ed both of us with it's sweetness(subtle sweetness) and breadiness that I simply love experiencing when tasting a good pilsner and this pilsner definitely falls into that category. So on that beer alone I have to push this brewery into five star territory. read more

This old cymbals warehouse in an industrial area is fantastic. I love this family brewery. It's a great place to kick back on a Sunday, have a few beers and play some of the games available. On Saturday nights, the atmosphere changes from family and games to a social place that is true brewery culture, with really good crafted brews. I really like the 4oz mini drinks, I get to try many of the great varieties. The addition of the occasional food trucks on site makes this a beer drinkers paradise. I will be back. read more

600th review! The beer is good, but pricey is as to be expected at microbreweries. Many of the beers are $10 a pint (16oz). I tried several beers in a flight and my favorite include the one with raspberry puree, and the Porter. They lacked seating on a busy Saturday night, but we stood at a wooden slab by the ring game. Wahlbergers was serving food outside at their truck so that was a nice touch. I had already eaten, but I've had their food before. Overall, it was a nice date and I'd be happy to go back, though Trillium in Canton is a bit higher on my list at this point. read more

So the beer here is solid. I tried all four beers available on tap. The Modulation 2 and Invisible Airwaves were my favorites. The one beer I def will pass on in the future is the Grazing Saddles, way too chocolate-y for my taste. So the 3 star rating is for the bad acoustics in the drinking hall and the amount of children there the day I visited. Their tiny playful screams pierced your ears as you tried to enjoy your beer. The outside area is lovely but these same children were outside unsupervised by their parents. They would sit next to me and yell through me to the other kids playing in the forest. I don't know what Stellwagen can do about this other than perhaps putting up a sign to not allow children outside unsupervised?(Something like.....No dogs or children allowed outside unsupervised?) Keep up the good beer and sorry so many parents bring their children here for play dates. read more

Had an amazing time and can't wait to go back again. Every single person you encounter makes you feel like a friend not just the usual server/patron relationship. Loved their pretzels, environment, and location. Oh yeah, the beer! We ordered a flight to see what was good. I've never ordered flights where literally every single brew is top notch. We didn't just like the beer, we loved it, and even bought some to go. I cannot recommend this place higher and I have been to many breweries all over Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I don't think it's possible to be disappointed if you choose to go there and I am already thirsty for some more! read more

the brewery is dog friendly but does not accept.... children. It is not family-friendly. it is the first time that I heard something like that but it is their own policiy. in other words, you have to possibilities if you want to visit the brewery: 1) do not have children or 2) tie them up. ridiculous and shameful. read more

Awesome beer, great location, warm and friendly staff! Curiously skimming through some of the other reviews I see a lot of mention of children/parents and the staff dynamic. I have visited 5-6 times and never saw it as a major issue. Its always going to hard to please people critical of parents/children and sensitive parents at the same time. I am sure the staff will continue to find what works best. The beer selection will grow as this new brewery continues to expand their brewing capacity. Have patience people. Recently opened in mid 2018 in Marshfield MA on Enterprise Drive we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beer and the great atmosphere. We've been there twice so far and the inside is clean and good size and there is an outside area that is dog-friendly and offers some games to play. Inside, there are plenty of tables and ample room. The brewery is right there and all brand new equipment. Food trucks typically are stationed outside with good choices to accompany the beer offerings inside. Oh, the beer, it's great, really good and we just tried the Boys Don't Cryo which is top notch, up there with Trillium taste and haziness and we are pretty picky on our beer. Also drank was Shockwaves which was also recommended and very, very good as well. read more

I don't see the draw if you're over 25 years old. I went in and looked at the on tap beer list. Every description started with what fruit it was based on. I finally decided on one that had a long description, but didn't see any fruits. I should have read more carefully. It tasted like a grapefruit wine cooler at $7/glass. I'd think a beer company might consider brewing some beer. The environment simply wasn't my style. It seemed like a frat house was renting an abandoned BJ's Warehouse. Very cavernous and echo-ey. Lots of small children running around, so perhaps it's popular with the young parents crowd. read more

Went to Stellwagen around 2:00p on Sunday w my wife for a quick afternoon out earlier today. Very conveniently right off of route 3. Good crowd but we found a seat at a table no problem. Good size taproom w the Sox/Astros on a projector. Plenty of games, we played Jenga and Connect4. Small lot out front and plenty of street parking. Three bartenders on, all were fast and outgoing. Dog and kid friendly. 8 beers on tap so we tried them all. NE IPA heavy. Would love more variety but they were very good. Food truck (thyme) outside. We didn't get anything but everything walking by looked good. Big swag wall w good variety. Would definitely come back. read more

We went to the grand opening night. The place is really spacious and open. While it could use additional decor, it was pleasant. It had an outdoor area and a food truck present. We each had a flight of their beers to taste the entire lineup. Overall their beers were okay, but a bit overpriced for what they were (same prices as Trillium which has much more distinctive beers). With so many options with craft brews out there, I would expect more. read more

Stellwagen just opened it's doors on Thursday. They had five beers on tap, I only sampled three but they were all very good. As someone that frequents different breweries I have to say I was impressed. The entire facility was clean, and the atmosphere was nice. All their furniture was wood, giving the whole building a nice smell. I will absolutely recommend them friends and it's great to have them located so close to home. Instant fan. read more

Went there with 2 couples obviously in their 50s. One of four did not have their License which seemed irrelevant because she has a 21 year old son. Anyways 4 50-somethings were turned away because 1 didn't have a license. I understand how critical following COVID protocols are but not sure how any violation could have occurred by a 50 year old lady drinking a craft beer. Great surprise on the way back from Boston. Beers were very good and true to style. Super juicy ipas.....yum! But the place is awesome. Huge inside, acoustic singer the night we went. They have a nice grassy outdoors and games inside and out. Food trucks are there as well. Just a great spot to enjoy a beer on a beautiful day outside or rainy day inside. Even though Tree House and Trillium are in this area, this is a must stop for beer lovers. read more

When I first started going to Stellwagen, I thought how lucky for a Hop Head like me to find a local brewery with fantastic hoppy IPAs (Shockwaves, Airwaves, several Modulation #s), that I felt were as good as the best New England IPAs ( Trillium, Alchemist, Tree House). BUT the last several times, I've been disappointed with selection of IPAs, and don't like Porters, pilsners, fruity and Stouts being offered. Stellwagen, please listen to your customers and get back to brewing hoppy IPAs, that I know you can.... read more

Very typical, minimalistic brewery on the inside. It's hidden in an industrial park, but still is always packed when we go. The beers are truly excellent! And they've released some really unique and original brews. What I find annoying is that the Cans of beer that they sell come cold, and are half the price of the drafts...but they FORBID you from buying them and cracking them open inside the brewery. They make you buy the more expensive drafts if you are drinking in house. read more

Anti-kid, anti-family business. Staff has created an atmosphere where people with kids aren't welcome. You'll get yelled at if your kid doesn't follow the rules. There are much better breweries in the area that aren't this way, like Untold In Scituate. Much more consistent beer, too. read more

I have been to Stellwagen twice and loved it both times! I enjoyed the Pina Colada Frostee. I love the vibe, a Vermont girl at heart who loves to ski and apres, it felt like it was a spot to hit after the slopes. We were there for a date night and loved the music by Shots of Honey. We have small children and what makes it great is that they can join us next time. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages and there is plenty of room to spread out. I saw some reviews about small children running around, well, yes, we live on the South Shore where many of us have left the city and started a family. It doesn't mean we never want to go out and grab a beer anymore. I HIGHLY recommend Stellwagen Beer Company and will be back with friends and family and my children. read more

The beer at Stellwagen is very good. Now, about the brewery itself . . . If parents want to drink around their kids, I wish they'd stay at home. A brewery is no place for parents to bring their unruly children who are running around while the adults get tanked. It's frustrating to weave in and out of children whose parents aren't watching them. Bring your Yeti-filled booze mug to the playground or the soccer field, but please leave your children at home when you go to the brewery. Plenty of us (who have children) would like to enjoy a good brew without your whiny, misbehaved children wreaking havoc. The bartenders remind the children to stop running repeatedly because parents aren't doing their job. Unfortunately, if you plan to visit Stellwagen, be prepared for throngs of toddlers/elementary-aged children (especially in the warmer months). Woman manager is so rude. Hates kids yet worked with kids in her past career. Our kids have always been so good here yet always get yelled at for when they are there. We keep them at tables or in a contained area to color/dance yet she can't stand it. We never have this experience at Untold Brewery. Don't open a brewery in a suburban town if you don't want families to attend. The owners are wonderful which is the only reason I'm giving any stars at all. read more

I visited Stellwagen last week. The space is great and I love the beer, but I normally take it to go. There are far too many toddlers running wild in the space and it's disruptive and unpleasant to be around. The beer is very tasty and I've always found the employees knowledgable. It's unfair to the employees to serve as a bartender as well as your babysitter. If you decide to go, do everyone a favor and cough up some $$ and get a sitter. read more

Stellwagen is simply an amazing place. They have incredible beers, great seating, awesome food trucks and a friendly waitstaff. Their beers are much better than the average brewery. Their new releases almost always sell out immediately- proving the crowd favorite aspect of their rating. They experiment with various flavors and hops, but nothing too crazy. Simply put: their beers are well made, their service is excellent and the integrity of the business is behind everything they do and create. read more

The first time I went here with my girlfriends the beer was good the place wasn't over crowded, but when I went back last weekend with boyfriend it was not only over crowded, but seemed like I was at a chucky cheese with my nephew.
