He had specific testing equipment to accurately measure different aspects of our pool's chemistry, and then to see exactly how to treat it to bring it into safer ranges. This was not being done with our previous service, so our chems were way off. Over the next 24-36 hours, he executed a plan to remediate the chemistry of our pool. And it worked! We did not like the expectation of the company that we would leave a side gate open for them on service days or provide a key. There was little to no communication about the work being done or what would be necessary for the pool. They were very communicative and timely around asking for payment at the end of the month. They wrote all over our system in sharpie, and regularly failed to communicate between technicians, so we were answering the same questions over and over. Rates were competitive, but the value did not equate to the provided service or lack of communication--around service times, maintenance, and the services themselves. The technicians changed frequently, and we were often left feeling like we were added to a schedule as opposed to a regular weekly customer. Given everything, we will be seeking alternative options for this season.

It didn't help that we didn't move in for months after we closed on the house for renovation, so the pool turned a radioactive green during that time. Trying to keep this brief for my own time. From January to March I was supposed to spend 160 a month on pool cleaning, but pool was still dirty. So they charged an additional 120 in February for extra chemicals because I had a difficult pool. But end of March pool had a lot of algae and looked like it wasn't even being brushed. They wanted another $360 in more chemicals. This would bring my YTD to $960, averaging $320 a month instead of the agreed $160 per month, but the big problem was pool was dirty! I'm not paying 320 a month to have a green pool. Maybe if the pool was clean and they came to me asking to adjust the rate that would work. But I can't keep paying extra fees to have a dirty pool. The pool was so bad my new pool service had to charge an extra fee to get the pool started. They couldn't believe I had an active pool service. La pool guys had in fact been there earlier that week. Oh I forgot they did a filter cleaning duirng this time which I requested because pool flow was getting low. After the filter clean, pool flow was still low and pressure was at 20. They told me that's normal. Had to pay another service to come out. They cleaned it and got pressure down to 10 and a good flow. They said it looked like no cleaning was done. So add that to the money wasted this year. Other problems: They skipped cleanings without letting me know (holidays, rainy day, etc.) Only when I noticed the pool was dirty and asked about it, they would confirm they skipped last week. I need to be told when skipping weeks so I can clean the pool myself or make alternative arrangements. Requested service for an equipment issue. Their tech came and went and said they fixed it, but checked it and nothing was done and the same problem existed. Had to call a different pool service for repair and wasted time

The saltwater pool turned a not so pretty shade of green just in time for St Patrick's Day. Another pool tech highly recommended TC Pools for ongoing maintenance. Thankfully, Tom was up for the challenge and restored the pool to its former glory. Saltwater pools require an expert to keep them looking good and TC Pools is that expert for me.
