In that respect, Joel did a very good job. He photographed the newlyweds, the guests, and the performances thoroughly, and he worked quietly and unobtrusively throughout the evening. However, there were very few pictures of our family. I wished he had focused on getting more family pictures. The reason I am giving a 4-star review rather than 5 is due to a lack of clarity around post-processing. It was not communicated beforehand that the photos would be largely unedited. While the lighting was adjusted, many images ended up overexposed, and there were several distracting background elements--such as podiums, backpacks, and visible wires--that I had expected would be edited out. When I asked about this, I was told that additional editing would cost extra. There was also a lot of emphasis on a complimentary drone photo of the entire party, which unfortunately was not feasible since the event was indoors. I wish the focus had instead been on clearly explaining what level of editing was included and taking more family pictures. Overall, if you are looking for someone to efficiently cover an event and capture everyone present, Joel does a solid job. If you want more detailed editing or a specific finished look, I would strongly recommend clarifying those expectations in advance. I read many Yelp reviews before hiring him and did not see this mentioned, so I felt it was important to share.

Disappointing Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot Experience…read more We had a very disappointing experience across both our maternity and newborn photoshoots. For the maternity session, there was no proper pre-discussion about locations or outfits. We were simply asked to choose from previously taken images, which felt impersonal. During the shoot, the session felt rushed, and the photographer appeared disengaged, as if they wanted to finish early. From a 2-hour session, we could barely select around 10 usable images, which reflects the overall quality. We also noticed technical issues with the camera, including frequent error messages during burst shots. For the newborn session, we had informed them in advance that we would be about 30 minutes late due to our baby's doctor appointment. Despite this, one of the planned props was removed, which felt inflexible given the circumstances. There was also a significant delay of about four weeks beyond the expected timeline in delivering the edited images, without clear communication or accountability. After delivery, communication continued to be frustrating. We received emails indicating additional charges if image selections were not made within 30 days, which felt pressured--especially considering the delay in delivery was on their side. At the same time, when we requested a re-edit for one of the selected images, we had to follow up multiple times and did not receive timely responses. Additionally, some comments made during the newborn shoot were uncomfortable and inappropriate. Remarks about the baby's skin tone and comments regarding the mother's feeding choices were hurtful and unexpected, especially for a one-month-old baby. We expected a much more respectful and sensitive environment. There was also no prior discussion about props for the newborn shoot -- only a couple of setups were pre-arranged, and we felt limited to those options. Similar to the maternity shoot, the overall photography quality did not meet expectations. From a 1.5-hour session, we could barely select around 15 images, and the editing felt very basic, with some images appearing minimally edited. Given our experience, the overall service felt unprofessional, inflexible, and lacking in quality. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and we expected a much more thoughtful, skilled, and supportive experience. Also, please don't go based on Instagram followers alone -- our experience did not reflect the expectations set by their online presence. If you are looking for a photographer who communicates well, provides guidance, and creates a comfortable and enjoyable session -- especially with a newborn -- this may not be the right fit.

Our baby slept peacefully through 6 or 7 outfit changes, and our toddler stayed engaged thanks to Denise's patience, humor, and a well-timed feather boa. She has an amazing eye for detail and an endless stash of props. One of our favorite shots is our baby nestled in a giant glove she pulled out on the spot. With her seven years of experience, I could tell my newborn was in good hands right away. Her patience and ability to work with newborn babies is truly a talent! Prior to meeting, I had communicated with Michelle on Yelp and inquired her different packages, then signed a contract and paid a $50 deposit. Everything was pretty smooth and easy. The three packages are on her website, either basic, signature, or premium, and we went with the middle package - the signature, which was perfect for us. The middle package had 4 poses, swaddled, family included, and we received 50 photos! Fast forward to photoshoot morning - we followed directions to have baby fed and changed into a diaper by the time of her arrival. My son was 13 days old when she took photos in our home. She came with her props, accessories, and baskets all prepared! Michelle also brought a sound machine that had white noise playing to soothe the baby. She swaddled my son and every photo pose/ setup increased in difficulty but she was really patient and worked with my son who almost was so fussy he'd wake! I enjoyed that she brought different colors for swaddles and blankets and various types of hats for us to choose from. Furthermore, if you're like me and your home is a mess, don't worry! Michelle will make it work and she will decide which room has the best lighting for her photos. She'll need about 5ftx5ft of space at least! Michelle delivered our gallery in a blink of an eye. Kerry was great at making us feel comfortable during the shoot and showing us how to pose. I also wanted a stress free experience so it worked out that she had a lot of gowns and outfits to choose from so I didn't have to worry about that. Kerry also helped me book hair/makeup with the makeup artist, Chau, who also did an amazing job giving me a natural glow. Would highly recommend!

I bought my first sign from her when my son graduated from WGM. At that time, I also looked at her website and knew right away that when my son was a senior at WGH, I would want her to take his graduation pictures. Pros- she works with you to ensure she captures the individual she's shooting photos of. For us, that meant multiple locations (climbing gym and high school baseball field). To do this, she has several calls and forms we completed beforehand, so she had a good idea of what our son was into. At each site, she also tried multiple poses, angles, and lighting variations to maximize and get the best photos possible. We could not be happier with the end products! Cons- this was not a small investment! Of course, I definitely feel we got what we paid for. The pictures came out great! And because she's so talented and known for taking amazing seniors photos Christy books up early! If you think you may use her, reach out as quickly as possible! With my son's baseball schedule and normal life in general, getting together was tricky, but thankfully we made it work! A lot of my son's pictures are already on her Yelp page, lol...
