I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.

Sandwiches with an egg = breakfast right? My go-to is The Fancy: Vital Farms pasture-raised fried eggs, bacon, cheddar, smashed avocado, red onions, and house mayo on toasted Flourhouse multigrain. The huevos rancheros were decent, but not quite at the same level. They felt a bit less authentic than expected, and the hot sauce option was limited to Tabasco. I think a more traditional, homemade Mexican-style salsa would have elevated the dish significantly and made it shine. Because of that, I'm giving North Street Grille 4 stars. The French toast is phenomenal, and with a little more attention to authenticity on certain savory dishes, this spot could easily be a 5-star brunch destination. I'd definitely come back! I ordered the nana's egg sandwich in a pita - it was essentially an omelette sandwich with boursin, olive tapenade, cucumber, tomato and schug which is a green hot sauce which I got on the side. It was quite interesting- not what I had expected and next time I would ask to omit the olive tapenade. I asked for ketchup to add in. It was a really good portion- probably 2 or 3 eggs.
