Such a great location! I am upset that it took my husband and I so long to pop in. We had a little free time before needing to be home for our sitter, so we stopped in for a drink. We are not from the area, but my husband, a girlfriend and I went there because it was number one on yelp and very close to where we are staying. We met the owner, who was very personable. She had awesome music playing in the pub, and the food was really good. The chef came out and checked on us. Because I had a full force beer. (IPA) I couldn't eat all my food, so he came out to make sure everything was OK and offered a refund if it wasn't, which I did not need!!!! if we were from the area we would definitely be going back to check out their live bands, and nighttime activity!!!!! read more

This is the absolute best watering hole for the Apopka area that I have found thus far. Not only is the food delicious, drinks are flowing, and Chris is the BEST server I have met in a long time (and I eat out a lot, haha.) Great food, great ambiance! I came on a week night to check it out. The tater logs were so flavorful it was almost a sin to dip them in the beer cheese sauce (but we did and loved it). My friend and I both ordered the shepherds pie. It was so full of meat, a huge portion, and didn't disappoint. Stephie came to visit us and is so charming! It was such a good experience that I came back two nights later! I had the corned beef Reuben with cabbage and it was wonderful. So big I took half home! My husband enjoyed the shepherds pie and my friend loved the cod with tots. Colin served us both nights and took great care of us. Stephie came by to say hello, and the gentleman singing mellow tunes while he strummed the guitar put me in my happy place. We'll be back! read more

This was such a nice find. I was exploring the area and happened to find this spot and I'm so glad I did. The food was well-prepared, fresh, and most importantly, tasted delicious. I tried the Irish Corned Beef Reuben and the Guinness Battered Cod. Both were very good, but what put them over the top were the sauces that the staff told us about and I tried. There was a spicy honey garlic sauce and a jerk mayo sauce and those sauces could make anything taste amazing. The spicy honey garlic sauce was sweet and spicy and packed a lot of garlic flavor. The jerk mayo had a perfect blend of spices and the right amount of creaminess from the mayo. The customer service here was great too. The owner and her husband greeted every guest walking in and I got to hear about the restaurant itself and how it got started from them. They created a nice, welcoming atmosphere in this restaurant. The service was so slow. The food was mediocre at best and the band wasn't great. Extra charge for soda refills. My teenage son ordered so I didn't see what the menu might have said - I guess that's my fault but I never expect an extra charge on fountain drinks - Cans or bottles yes, but never on a fountain soda. **In response to the owner stating the sodas were from a can - we were given just a soda in a cup with ice. We were not provided a can so there was no way to know it wasn't a fountain drink. read more

I love Stephies! And I love the atmosphere! All the food is air fried, so you know it is very fresh when you get it. The food is tasty and delightfully presented. The live bands are fun- you can bring friends, sit back, enjoy an adult beverage( the adult beverage list is hard to beat according to my husband who loves English beer!). My wife and I thought we would try Stephie's Pub after reading some reviews and craving some good Irish dishes. We were 1 of only 3 tables occupied at the time we were there and service was still slow. I feel like she was the only person there and was playIng server and cook because we didn't see anyone else. The food was OK, but wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Service was slow to non existent but if she was indeed alone, then she was doing the best she could. Really don't know what the back story was, but none the less, it left us with a poor opinion and we probably won't go back. We been to Stephie's twice already. And we really like the food - the Sheppard's Pie and Country Claire Chicken Pot Pie are great! My husband loves the tater logs and Reuben sandwich. The place is clean, quaint, welcoming. We went on a Friday and there's an entertainer who sings and plays the piano. We like that he engages with all the customers, and he takes requests. The owner, Ms Stephie, is such a sweetheart , she even offered a shawl to our daughter to keep her warm. Our server was Ms. Rebecca - what a nice, friendly lady! We are all about supporting our local businesses. My friends and I went here for lunch and we initially thought this was going to be exactly what we hoped for excellent Irish food. It was lackluster at best. The day we were there quite a number of the food & drink items were unavailable. We opted for other items that were available and when we left we spoke some more. The food was not above average. I love Irish cuisine. I have been eating Irish cuisine for decades at family run restaurants and always enjoyed the food. Would I return maybe. Hopeful if I return the food would be better and for their beer selections to be better than the last time. read more

This is a nice little neighborhood pub that we enjoyed! The draft beers were great; my first was delightful... the Stephie's lager! Also had a glass of the Kentucky bourbon ale which was fantastic! The food is interesting in that nothing is fried but Air fried! I love air fried food myself and enjoyed the Irish potato logs with beer cheese so much. The spinach and artichoke dip was our least favorite--the chips were almost stale to me and the dip was very heavy on the spinach and light on whatever binder they use. And pretty flavorless given the exploding delicious flavor of the potato logs and beer cheese! The flatbread needed to cook a touch longer; the crust was undercooked away from the edges. The mac and cheese was standard and fine; the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches with Cole slaw were stars of the show. Market that Cole slaw y'all! read more

Great atmosphere. Clean, relaxing yet fun interactions with the staff and their live music entertainers are nice and will come up between breaks as ask for any requests. Food is very good. But the ambience and the friendliness of the staff and owners make you feel so welcomed. Reminds me of small mom and pop businesses back home in Pennsylvania. We went for the Guinness. They are the only local place that does a proper double pour. Amy the bartender was very efficient and friendly. We met the owners from Canada. We stayed for dinner. I had chicken parm flat bread. Hubby had Guinness cod and tasters. We both enjoyed our drinks and meals. Very relaxing atmosphere. We will be back soon. This place is a little treasure, I must say. Normally I don't post reviews, but we went because I'm part Irish & I received their flyers in my mail; & it doesn't take much convincing for me to want Irish food! The atmosphere, though not 'old school Irish', was very warm & inviting. Comfortable couches & chairs in the lounge area let you take in the restaurant's charm while hanging out with one of their 17 draught beers. I had the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale & it was delicious. Once we got our food, though, is when we really took an appreciation for this place. Air fryers produced absolutely perfect Fish & Chips. And the only complaint about the Shepherd's Pie was that I wished it was bigger! Haven't yet tried their Bangers & Mashed or Pot Pie, but their Tater Tots with Beer Cheese was amazing, & we'll definitely be back to try their Paninis & flatbreads... The hosts, Paddy & Stephie, were SO friendly & sociable, we chatted with them for well over a half-hour after our meal. We wish them all the luck in the world! We all know the restaurant business is a bear. But what they bring to Apopka is great Irish food, a happy atmosphere, & a genuine desire by sweet people to make everyone who enters leave happy. Staying in an RV park so we looked for a local bar to try , we arrived at 7pm. Great candidate for Bar Rescue, and that's the best thing I can say about our experience. Made a reservation. The table was ready when we arrived, and so was trouble. 1. Irish Pub? Order drinks, right? Wine and beer only. In an Irish Pub. Let that sink in. No whiskey. In an Irish Pub. They apparently don't have their liquor license yet... 2. To start. Ordered apps. Told it would be a few minutes because everything is air fried. Ok... 45 minutes for 2 apps. We should have paid and left, but the tater log things were good, although I've never seen tater tots in an Irish Pub and we assigned our food would follow quickly. 3. The service. We arrived at 7:15. Our entrees came out at 8:55. We checked on our meal several times with both the haggard and seemingly exhausted servers who said they were "overwhelmed" and the cooks were behind, even when one guy working in the kitchen came out of the kitchen and ate his food at the table next to us while we waited. Both waiters took breaks as we waited, went outside for a drink and a conversation with a friend, and told everyone there what an exhausting day it had been. 4. The food. Not authentic, even for themed bar food. Fish and chips comes with... tater tots and there was not a hint by taste or smell of Guinness on the batter. Shepards pie is a small bowl of stiff mashed potatoes on top of about half a cup of hamburger. Chicken flat bread, also not Irish, reminded us of Golden Coral. Bangers and mash is served stuck inside a bowl of potatoes in a manner that I assume is suppose to be funny? I'd love to attach the picture but the fact that the two sausages looked like dueling hotdogs won't upload on the site ... will flagged as inappropriate. 5. Music. Obviously most folks there are friends of the musicians and the people who run this place. They were all supportive and kind. The singers claimed to be song writers and played guitar well enough to sing along to one "Irish" tune, then several of their own songs and covers like Sweet Caroline... again, not Irish. Everything about this night became totally humorous due to the failure of this place at every turn. We exited, having been given the full price bill and another exhausted apology from the waitress after waiting that long for food with no whiskey. The most "Irish" thing about the night felt like it was the trashy cartoon green leprechaun from Party City's St. Patty's Day section creepily smiling at us the whole meal from above the bar. Steph, you've got a lot of work to do to train your servers, find a bartender and a license, turn tables, and get your kitchen moving to serve the whopping number of less than 30 people who were being more than kind and patient in your restaurant. Locals, expect more and tell your friends the truth about their business. Unless this is a little hobby for billionaires, they aren't going to make it with experiences like this. Visitors to the area, this is a hard no. Especially if you are actually Irish. Sigh. read more
