What a fantastic work out! I found StepX through Class Pass and came for the Thursday evening chest and abs class. I am definitely feeling the work out today, wow! As someone who runs frequently and goes to the gym fairly regularly, I don't often "feel" a lot of the routine workouts that I do but wow! My booty and upper body feels this today! I really like how the evening class was not super packed - I personally like being able to move around freely. (I think the AM classes are far busier.) The instructor, Jason, was phenomenal. I appreciate how he showed me the steps before class (I arrived early) and told me about the various zones that we wanted to be in. If it's your first class, definitely come early for a tutorial! This class was a combination of exercises on the stepper as well as some floor work. I liked how it was a segment on the stepper, then floor work, then back to the stepper, etc. The variety made it interesting. I look forward to attending another class soon. Highly recommend! How lucky I was to have found this amazing workout place in google!! I am finishing my two weeks trial and it has been such a positive experience! Keri has been extremely welcoming every single day that I have attended! She is ready to answer my questions, offer words of encouragement, and promote a friendly environment to everyone! StepX is like a spin class but with stair steppers. Think neon lights, darker vibe, nowaday music and music videos. Wow, you can burn up to 900 calories in a one hour class. What I like is that you aren't just stepping the entire class, you jump rump, climb, shuffle, jog, etc. all on the stepper. The music is different every class and the owner is amazing. What I love about StepX is the workouts are all varied and well constructed to include cardio, weights, resistance, and endurance in a way that has you leaving each class feeling complete and excited. It's like a really awesome ride at an amusement park where when you get off, you want to run back to the end of the line and do it again! I have NEVER felt this way about working out. The instructors are super supportive, and offer variations for all levels - from athlete to newbies like me. They lead by example and are living examples of how you can perform and look if you eat clean and work hard. They work out with each group and in doing so they provide inspiration and encouragement. ‍‍‍ Reserving your classes and checking in electronically is simple and your class confirmations are sent via email with "add to calendar" options to make scheduling a breeze. I like early AM classes and weekends and StepX offers both. Lastly, the atmosphere here and the other members is off the hook. My favorite place to get a workout at is here!! I've paid for different memberships several different places in my life. They have been ok. This place makes me feel ok at any level I'm at with working out, no pressure to be perfect ever in this class. I have been losing 1-2 pounds a week by going 2-3 times a week for only a month. I am gaining my energy back too. Of course with healthy eating which the gym owner Keri helps motivate us to do is necessary too. Give this class a chance! Loving this total body workout! The owner, Keri A., is all that you would want in an Instructor and Leader of this challenging class. She is a perfect combo of tough as nails & loving encouragement. Her leadership truly gets the most out of me in every class. Hey, that's what I'm all about... A kick in the BUTT when I am due and encouragement when exhausted and giving it my all! The workout itself, is a full 60 minutes of HIIT training and 4 weight sessions. Every class focuses on a different body part with weights so at the end of the week you have lifted to achieve a full body weight workout. I love that the cardio is HIIT and you can give it your all for the 30-45 second bursts. I think it is so important to have the ability to push your body to its limit without injury. This is a zero impact class because the stair stepper is always there to support every step. I've been attending for months and have NEVER had an injury! The results are the best part! My body is burning fat and toning up faster than I've ever experienced. I've always been active and a college athlete so I can tell you, first hand, that it is rare to find a class that achieves these type of results so quickly without injury. The studio is a nice boutique style with a shower when you need to run to work after your class. I really can't brag about this class enough. I was so excited when I heard that Keri was opening up her own studio with this unique full body stepper workout experience. Step X is a very welcoming place! I like that we have our own stepper and area to workout in. The videos provide fun, diversions when needed. Most importantly is the workout. I have been going four times a week and every part of my body is worked on. Keri, the owner, continues to provide clear direction to the newcomers as well as the people who have been coming for quite some time. She will remind us where to place our hands, how low to get, etc. I am an older woman, and I can attest to a good workout, which is low impact on the joints, but does get the heart pumping. StepX is a workout like no other! It's like your favorite spin class, on a "stepper", in a disco on steroids! As you watch a panoramic wall of your favorite music videos in surround sound, you are instructed to run, jog, and jump on the stepper while intermittently using small weights and bands for an upper and lower body workout. You are also guided through circuits that charge daily, focusing on backs/biceps, legs, shoulders/triceps, chest/abs, and core.
