And if I choose to go ahead with repairs after the inspection, the $49 would go towards the repair cost. A technician arrived very quickly. After a quick inspection, he determined we needed to replace the torsion spring. I asked for a quote, and after typing into his iPad for quite a while he showed me an invoice that simply said "Springs $704". When I scrolled down, I saw he also added $49 for the visit. When I asked him why I was being charged separately for the visit, he mumbled that's the standard visit cost, and then said "oh let me check my notes", then took off the $49. I asked why replacing the spring would cost $700 when my research indicated spring replacement should cost around $250-500. He insisted $700 was the typical industry cost. I immediately called two other companies, both of them quoted me $250-450 for spring replacement. At this point, my husband came home and again asked the technician why he's giving us a quote that's double what other places charge. The technician then try to throw out some jargon about how we require some special spring at a special size. We told him we will not be continuing with the replacement and paid $49 for the visit. As the technician was leaving, he kept going on about how he will send me the quote with details on the springs to show us how it's special. Yeah, I never received anything from him. We went with another company, who came out an hour later and replaced the springs for $450. Always do your own research on how much things should cost!

I called EZ Garage Door and they met all these requirements with flying colors. I contacted EZ and its owner, Robert, responded immediately. He was on vacation but scheduled me the next day after his vacation ended. He offered me a free inspection to find the problem I was having, but I already was planning to have a new opener installed. As a courtesy, he sent me a list of openers I could have installed, with the total OTD price for whichever one I chose. He had at least 7-8 to choose from. He installs only quality brands and is very knowledgeable of what each can do, which depends on what you want the new opener to do. He arrived at the scheduled time and was ready to install immediately, since I had already chosen the opener I wanted. Robert is extremely knowledgeable and very prepared to do the job. He had to work around a "remodel in process", but had no issues or problems with the situation. He said it would take about 90 minutes to complete the job: 60 to complete the installation and 30 to explain any and all nuances of my new opener. The installation was very clean and professional. I not only want quality but appearance as well. It must be good AND look good. Robert was excellent! It looks clean. He spent the last few minutes explaining all the new functions of my new opener and how to use them. If you haven't purchased an opener in years, BE READY FOR AN EXPERIENCE! They have modernized the opener to meet today's automation. My business with EZ Garage Doors was a great experience. Robert is young, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. He's clean, organized and leaves no trace of even being here. He truly deserves a 5 star rating, and if you're looking to replace or upgrade your opener, this is the place to go. There are a couple more I would consider doing business with because I've dealt with them before, but Robert is the cream of the crop. One guy, working with quality parts and offering professional installation, is rare in this day and age. If you need work done, start your search here and work down. Honest and professional, Nate's manner put me at ease. With two different garages in need of servicing, Nate identified the main issues with no problem, offered simple solutions, and began working right away. He was done in less than an hour for both and the cost was very reasonable to my surprise. Brief description of the issues I needed help with: One door was collapsing from a broken wire and was stuck halway open. The second garage door was inoperable, despite my DIY attempts.
