I highly recommend this place, after shopping around for a place to repair the exhaust on my wife's Challenger. I knew it would be $$$ and hoping it could be repaired instead of replaced. Jeremy, who was working with us on the car told us that the metal had gotten so thin that if they attempted to repair the exhaust it would be like "Swiss cheese" He showed us and it was lose and rattling instead of just telling us and taking his word like other garages where they may or may not tell you what's wrong and charge you for services that you don't need. We have been taking our car here for about a year and we were always pleased with them. I always really liked the e-mails we would receive explaining everything and including photos. It always made it easy for someone not knowledgeable in cars to understand. Appointments were readily available and service was always done in a reasonable amount of time. But today the BF came in requesting a brake fluid flush only because he just replaced the calipers himself. Whoever was currently working tried to upsell over $600 + worth of work on the car to replace the calipers with ones from the dealer (saying the ones from Autozone were inadequate), the brake fluid flush, and the inspection. In our previous experiences we were never upsold on anything and they would just do the work that we requested. Because of this I told the BF just to cancel the service and just pay the inspection fee, as I was worried we would be overcharged or have services not authorized performed. He was told the total would be $130. Yet the bill ends up $155.88. It's crazy to be overcharged just for inspection which has never happened to any automotive shop we have ever been to as the price given was always all inclusive. I guess our search for a trustworthy shop will continue. We were always happy with our experience with them prior to our experience today. We don't know if the pandemic has any impact on these newly implemented practices, but we are very disappointed. read more

I went in for a state inspection (cleared) and the shop provided an additional 42 point inspection on the vehicle as part of the state inspection. The 42 point inspection and road test were completed within a few hours of dropping off vehicle and the shop provided pictures of issues to be fixed at a later date by type and urgency level. ​ After posting a review, the shop owner called to explain why a tune- up including changing the spark plugs after only 11000 miles and changing the transmission fluid that didn't have a recommended mileage interval to do so.was done without asking them to do so and he said that he checked the Carfax on the service history and there was no record of a recent tune-up and that he couldn't check with the Toyota center where the last tune-up was done, that I would have had to call. I called that Toyota center and they told me that they could give out the service record to anyone long as they gave them the VIN #. I may have asked for an oil change and any other work that looks like it's necessary so there may have been some confusion, but a simple call to Toyota would have avoided this. I had a bad experience with a couple shops in Sterling that did not do well to earn my trust plus their prices were higher. Luckily, a friend recommended this local shop who also contributed to the community. It is refreshing to find an honest mechanic who doesn't overcharge or upsell me. They are affordable and provide excellent customer service. Their shop is really clean and the lobby is a nice place to wait. Even their bathroom is the cleanest I have seen! The owners clearly take pride and the employees enjoy working there. I highly recommend using this shop for all cars and work including oil changes. This place is absolutely awesome. Our dealership stopped giving us free oil changes, and I'd had bad experiences at nearly every place around before buying my two 2015 Nissans. So this was my first foray back into a non-dealership shop. ASE's people are the friendliest, most enthusiastic and helpful auto shop folks I have ever come into contact with in my entire life. Also, the prices are the most reasonable. I've seen places charge $40+ for a tire rotation before, but it's nowhere near that much here. I got a synthetic oil change and tire rotation for $49!!! (With a $20 first-time visitor coupon, but even $69 would be far less than most shops.) They even were good sports about a squirrel's nest that had built on top of my engine and vacuumed it out (hoping, the whole time, that they wouldn't have to defend themselves from whatever might have been living in there, I'm sure). (No, I didn't know that could even happen either.) The location is easy to access off of Cascades Parkway across from Claude Moore Park (in the old Sterling Glass building), and the waiting area is -- dare I say -- chic! Free coffee, chips, water and Wi-Fi, so you can get some work done while you wait (although they got my oil change and tire rotation done in under and hour). Pretty much everything you'd want in an automotive shop really. Knowledgeable staff, non-pushy mechanic's, comfortable waiting area with free water, coffee and snacks. There's a play room for kids...a legit playroom. Magazines, free WiFi, and I'm pretty sure they have a shuttle to drop you off in or around Sterling. Game-changing professional service that instilled confidence and trust. IMO the biggest headache with auto shops is not being treated with respect and provided a detailed explanation of recommended work orders that you can trust aren't bogus. I found Auto Stop Elite online and noticed the good reviews so decided to stop by on a weekend to receive a comparable estimate for a work order recommended by another shop that I and a friends weren't too sure about (I knew for over a year that my car with 95k miles had bad tires leading to excessive and odd road noise while driving but wasn't sure of the underlying causes leading to the uneven wear). I was greeted by Ben (the owner?) and we struck up a good discussion after he inquired about what I needed done and performed a visual inspection of my vehicle. He suggested bringing my vehicle in for a full inspection, free of charge, that would result in an online digital report with photos and comments with no obligation to get any work done. Ben's vast knowledge and passion about cars also caught my attention and so I figured, what's the harm, and decided to follow through and brought my vehicle in the next weekday. I dropped off my car first thing in the morning and a little less than two hours later I received the report via an email link and a call from Ben notifying me. I took some time to look it over and thought, wow, it's refreshing to have such detailed insight complete with pictures. Usually I'd just have to take the shop's word in addition to the limited inspection myself or friends could perform. Finally, I took notes and jotted down Qs before calling Ben back for what ended up being a 44min discussion while we reviewed the report and my car's records in detail. When the work order came up, he immediately emailed it to discuss. The quote wasn't a total over-priced shocker and included OEM parts and known brands. For the record, their inspection validated a few of the other shop's work order but mostly negated it. The photos and Ben's detailed rundown made it clear as day and gave me some peace of mind and so I agreed to the work order, which was completed the same day: new set of tires, rear shocks replaced, alignment, and a couple fluids and parts replaced per regular maintenance (brakes and rotors and transmission, rear differential, and transfer case fluids). After picking up my car, I immediately noticed the difference in the ride, road noise, and handling, almost like new.
