Negative Review If I could leave zero stars, I would. I brought my vehicle in twice because it was riding extremely rough after they "balanced" my tires. Both times I was told the problem wasn't them and that I needed to buy new tires. Instead of wasting more money, I went to a different shop -- they re-balanced the same tires and now my truck rides perfectly. They confirmed it was not the tires, but the poor work from this shop. So not only did I spend money here for a service that wasn't done correctly, but I also had to pay even more somewhere else to fix their mistake -- right in the middle of the holidays, when nobody needs extra surprise expenses. No accountability. No resolution. No offer to make things right. Just excuses. Negative stars for wasted time, extra costs, and terrible customer service. Came here because of a friend referral. Wouldn't come back after the below issues. Services (1/5): I just got new brake pads and rotors, brake fluid flush, and engine coolant flush on 06/21/2023 at 94,597 miles at the Sterling, VA Mr. Tire location. I then took my car to another shop to get an alignment after getting new Tires at Costco, and they checked the brake pads and brake fluid as part of their normal routine and said that the brake fluid needs to be flushed since it's dark. I'm concerned that the brake flush wasn't done or wasn't done properly at Mr. Tire since the brake fluid should have still been clear after 500 miles. The shop also said that my front pads are at 7/32" and the back are at 9/32". They said that they shouldn't be that low after 500 miles of driving since they're supposed to be new & OEM parts start at 10/32". There's no way that 500 miles took 3/32" off both the front brake pads. I tried reaching out to Monro, but their Contact Us form is broken. I tried calling the shop, but they said that the services were rendered... when another shop is saying it wasn't and there's evidence that the brake flush wasn't performed or performed well. (See pic for reference after 500 miles). 2/3 services with issues after, I cannot recommend this place. The main lobby guy there seems very stressed and overworked, but he's extremely nice. read more

Switch and Bait Groupon Voucher from personal experience. I purchased a Groupon voucher for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. I went on the same day as purchased Representative advised that they do not use Synthetic but only Full Synesthetic oil and advised that I would have to make up the difference $80-$100 if I wanted to redeem the voucher. There was a Groupon for full synthetic oil less then the mark up. If they offered synthetic oil change, it should be honored and not switch and bait. Groupon voucher is set on 'All Sales Final' so no refund. This is the second issue with this location also using a Groupon. I went in for an alignment a month ago and they said they couldn't do it because there was an issue with my rear axle. Did not specify the issue. Went to Meineke for the alignment and they did it with no fuss. They said the front tie rod was seized, and they were able to un-seize it as part of the alignment process. Luckily I was able to use the Groupon on a 2nd vehicle. read more

I was referred by the manager of another Mr. Tire store to go to this one because he was backed up. So I thought this place would be a reputable place, not. The "gentleman" preceded to tell me my tire was cracked and the tread was too low; of course, I needed a new tire. Let me go back a little. I already had a hole patched the front tire a couple days ago by a different Mr. Tire. We noticed the back tire is now having the same issue. Don't know what's the problem with other folks who wrote negative comments but these guys at this Me Tire are honest and have integrity. Been there many times and never disappointed. If someone writes a negative view after their first visit, I say it's suspect if they didn't give the vendor a chance to fix the issue. And I would recommend to any vendor that they have the customer who wrote such a negative review provide proof and also proof that the vendor did not rectify the problem. If customers cannot prove, then as a vendor I would sue the reviewer for slander and defamation. read more

Well installation + fees came to $60 per tire, so I spent $300 to install 2 average tires (3.5 stars and $79 on Amazon) the night before a road trip. Take a look at all the charges on the attached when you go comparison shopping. Bottom line - I walked out really feeling like I overpaid by at least 25%. I needed to update my review since I am now seeing the results of poor quality in service and customer service. These guys installed my new struts all around on my wife's car back in June 2020. The install was not done correctly and parts remained loose when I got home. I took the car back the same day and they tightened up my lower control arms and said they verified everything else was good to go. Months go by and we keep hearing a noise not expecting it to be my suspension again since they had looked over the car twice (note: there is no record of Mr. Tire tighten my suspension a second time, as they just did it when I brought it back. So I will come back to why that is also important). For the safety of my family I took the car somewhere else and they determined the noise was from the rear suspension. So I had to have them replaced again in less than a year. Let's also consider TRUST. These guys expect customers like myself to have trust in them to work on my car but they had zero trust in me when I told them my rear suspension was loose because then they wouldn't have to offer a refund and since I was unable to prove it based on a technicality of the other shops minimal notes, I got denied because they couldn't trust my explanation of loose parts moving around on my vehicle. I love how it's a one way relationship with companies like this one. Below is a full read of what occurred. I called Mr. Tire and to no surprise they said they cannot do anything to help me or refund the cost of labor on the rear suspension work they said they completed. So I left my review and customer support contacted me asking for me to call them. So I contacted customer support and explained what happened and what I discovered. The rear suspension was loose and there were rubber shavings near the top mounts. They asked for the paper work from the other shop and it notes noise from the rear but not specifically loose struts. So from technicality on note taking they denied my refund request on labor for the rear suspension. This very same company whom did not have any notes on my car being brought back the same day is holding onto the fact that it wasn't clearly noted from the other shop for why there was rattling noises. Let's be clear, it would not rattle if the parts were not loose! I think I was being reasonable by asking for only the labor for the rear suspension to be refund due to the lack of them not tightening down my struts. I wanted nothing more than a refund for services never rendered. The customer support and focus on customer safety is horrible and these guys just used a technicality to get out of it when they don't even document their follow up work. If I could leave a negative review I would and companies that use stupid policies to protect their own hide versus standing by their work really just continues to give automotive shops a bad stigma. I hope this type of service, stress, and worry these guys gave me and my family never happen to others or even themselves. It's not worth the money nor the effort dealing with them anymore. Worrying about the safety of your family and trusting people with a vehicle to help keep your family safe on the road was what I had hoped for but sadly they care more about their bottom line than making a customer feel better about a routine job done wrong. read more

I took my car to the Dulles Town Crossing location to have two tires mounted and balanced that I bought from Tire Rack after getting a flat. First, Mr. tire told me that they only install tires from Tire Rack on Wednesdays- not convenient when you need your car for work or hauling your children to events. After waiting for Wednesday to come and dropping off my car, I had to not only explain what tire was flat and where I wanted them mounted, but I had to then write it down at the request of the guy who was managing the front as he didn't take his own notes. I returned to pick up the car that afternoon. Over the next two days I was out of town and drove 300+ miles on the highway, where I experienced horrible wheel shake due to poorly balanced tires at anything over 50mph. I called the shop and brought it back in the following Wednesday. I was told that they would only attempt to rebalance a second time. After picking it up that afternoon the car felt as if they hadn't touched it- same horrible shake. At this point I was furious. I called Tire Rack and told them about my experience. They recommended that I take my car to Great Falls Exxon to see if they could rebalance them successfully, as they had great customer feedback. Needless to say, the car now is as smooth as glass- no thanks to Mr Tire. The guy who balanced my tires at Great Falls Exxon showed me how far off they were- even he was surprised that they were off by ounces!!! That may not seem like much to a lay person, but you'd notice immediately. If you need tires mounted and want it done right- look elsewhere. read more

Rating of the Leesburg, VA location. I will never go back to Mr. Tire. I recently had several issues. Firstly, I was lied to. When Mr. Tire replaced my front struts, I was told that the quality of the parts would exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. After the installation I complained of noises when steering and brought back for inspection and I was told that everything was 100% fine and safe. The noises got worse and several weeks later I went back. The mechanic mouthed off to me saying he wasn't going to inspect it again a second time. I insisted and another mechanic there checked it and saw that it was cracked and so Mr. Tire replaced the defective part. When I picked the car back up it was still making noises and not steering well. I therefore brought the car to the Toyota dealer and they confirmed that the installation was incorrect (it wasn't properly torqued) so they had to fix it so that the car would steer properly. Toyota also confirmed that I was lied to and that the struts are a lower quality than OEM. They are cheap quick struts and they will always have a springy noise when going over small bumps unlike an OEM or better replacement. That's just something I now have to live with now unfortunately. Secondly, regarding the breaks. After Mr. Tire worked on the breaks. I brought the car back 2 times to have Mr. Tire look at them again because the car wasn't breaking properly. Our car even slid into an intersection at a red light a couple times. The mechanic checked them and promised both times that the breaks were 100% fine/safe. However, the Toyota dealer showed me that one of the calipers was ceased open making one of the four wheels not break. Both the above steering and break issues were serious safety issues and not only did Mr. Tire lie to me, but they were also completely negligent and it could have resulted in serious injury or death. I hate to give two star reviews to local businesses but after getting an oil change and wheel alignment, I was told I needed a $1,200 service -- mostly labor charges -- due to a wheel issue on my 2013 Lexus RX 350. They were very convincing, but I took it to my trusted mechanic who put the car up in his shop and said I needed nothing of the sort. Won't be going back ever again. read more

Came in today for an emissions and state inspection and worked with Joey. I found out that my license plate light bulb was out and it was $37 to replace. Not too happy with the cost of a bulb but it beats having to change it out myself and return for another inspection. I was informed that my rear brakes were close to needing replacement but I would pass inspection regardless. I already knew about this issue but decided to replace with new pads due to the lifetime warranty that Mr Tire offers on brake pads. I appreciated the honesty and not having a bunch of "fixes" needed that I have experienced at other stations. read more

With his help, I was able to choose which repairs should come first. This location of Mr Tire has proven to be extremely honest, reasonably priced, and surprisingly timely! WORST AUTO SERVICE EVER. I hope this place goes out of business. They tried to charge me $700 to replace two front brakes, then when i complained immediately lowered it to $375. WHAT BS. Then, they tried to charge me $42 to plug a whole in the tire. No thanks, i'll go across the street and get it done for $15. These people are great, I was out and caught a flat and they got me in on short notice. All in all great staff, great service and the quality of their work is good. however if you have a manual car that you CARE about don't bring your car here. Took my vehicle in for a repair and as I was paying at the desk I hear a tech stall my car once then proceed to rev the car to at least 3k rpm and slowly release the clutch which immediately raised concern from my end as that's a great way to roast a clutch. Meanwhile the supervisor was next to me and saw what happened and apologized but sorry won't fix any potential damage there could be. I also work on cars and I know what's needed on my cars. They will only point out what you need and not up-sell what you don't need . In my case , they did point out a concern I already knew about. Inspections are first come, first serve and cost $16. They tell you inspections take 45 minutes but mine took less than that. I'm very choosey about the people I let work on my vehicles. And with good reason. I trust my vehicle to be reliable and safe, especially when I'm hauling kids around in the back seat. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for and Curry's is a great example of that. I've been using the guys out at the Falls Church location for years but when I recently moved out to Great Falls I was pleasantly surprised to see they have another location near my new home. I recently brought in my Toyota 4Runner to get a lift kit and some new wheels and tires installed. They gave me a good estimate of what the work would cost and I dropped it off with them for a couple of days while I was traveling for work. They called me several times to give me updates and kept me informed of everything that was going on. When the job took longer than expected and there was an issue with wheel fitment, they took my calls late into the evening to make sure everything got straightened out. They even offered me use of their loaner car to help out until I got my car back. When I did it back their work was impeccable, they explained everything they did and even brought me out to the garage to show off all the work. The trust the guys at Curry's because not only are they honest and dependable, but they're also "car guys". They are passionate about what they do and they take a great deal of pride in their work. That's why they're the only guys around I trust to work on my vehicle. read more

I took my car car in for new brakes. I wasn't sure if I need new pads, rotors and calibers. I dropped my car off around 8 am. Mr tire gave me a ride to work which was nice. A few hours later The service writer called me and informed me that I needed new pads rotors and calipers. He quoted roughly $1200. I told him I would think about it and get back to him. Mean while I called my regular mechanic and he quoted $900 over the phone for the same service. 30 minutes later I got a call from Mr. tire and the manager quoted roughly $1000 for the service. I told him I still wasn't sure. Then he said he could do it for roughly $900. If I would have said go ahead and do the service for $1200 I would have been out $300. I don't get why he just won't have given me the best price from the beginning. I took my car from Mr. tire and brought it to my regular mechanic (C and C auto). Turns out I need a new pads and calipers. The rotors just needed to be cleaned. The service was roughly $525. read more

Put simply this place lies, cheats, steals, and cons you in every way they can. BEWARE!!! Especially females! They know every trick in the book. Today my wife took her car there for them to inspect a window that wasn't properly working. This windowed was "repaired" by them already and was even still "under warranty". However, after examining the window they charged $60 for JUST THE INSPECTION and then had the audacity to claim that it was a different issue. The fact that they charged this inspection was just a ploy to try to get us to pay an additional $300-$400 to fix the same window again. Clearly they did not fix the window properly the first time, as it didn't work properly except for a few times immediately after the initial fix. By this rate we would go broke fixing the window over and over and would pay approximately $100 per window operation. They claim that it was now the switch and not the regulator that they previously "fixed". Keep in mind it only worked a few times after they "fixed" it! Clearly the switch was an issue then as well as now! This is the worst type of garage because they don't only do incomplete jobs, but they also do damage to you vehicle. Then on top of that they will put on their best used car lot salesman vibe and come at you for an absurd amount of money for labor. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! There are some decent garages around the area and there is NO possible reason to take a vehicle here. Do not even trust them with an oil change. They have proven to have no integrity. I'm absolutely disgusted with they way they treated my wife. read more

I have never been pressured into extra work, and they've always been happy to install my parts or tires that I bought elsewhere. Whenever I've needed work outside of what I brought the car in for, they've always printed up a list for me to review when I leave. Issues I had elsewhere in the area: Merchants - installed my staggered tires on the wrong wheels VA Tire - couldn't open my hood (there's a $2 tool that unlatches it) Goodyear - spent 2 days trying to solve an electrical problem that the next shop fixed in 5 minutes Their labor rate isn't cheap, but they're the only shop nearby that I trust. read more

They're the perfect Auto Service shop in theory. Motorsports enthusiast, knowledgeable in aftermarket installs, very professional, the perfect alternative to the dealer. Unfortunately their labor rate is unjustifiably expensive. While their hours called in estimates match the high side of the market. I.E. Goodyear. But Goodyear's labor rate is cheaper. The other complaint is that they're not walk in friendly for oil changes nor inspections. Even if the place is dead empty, theres usually an excuse for a 1-2 hour wait. read more
