Went to Honest Toms in Sterling, VA after a check engine light and misfires. They ended up replacing my fuel injectors ($3000). They have to remove all the intake components to get to the rear bank because it's a transverse engine, so I get there's going to be extra man hours involved. The problem is that the work of putting it back together definitely seemed rushed once I got in and starting looking around. The upper intake manifold has a bolt on the back to keep it stable. That was missing. The foam cover of the high pressure fuel pump that sits on top of the valve cover was missing, and the main underbody splash guard cover was missing. I guess it was too much effort to the put those back. The upper intake manifold bolts had 2 that were heavily stretched and deformed and these are not Torque to Yield bolts. And one was cross threaded. I had to use a thread chaser to fix that one and replaced the others. This all really makes me wonder what else they didn't do or didn't bother trying to do. I'm looking it over really well now to make sure they didn't leave off anything important. They acted like they were doing me a huge favor knocking 50 bucks off the price but honestly I would have rather had them charge $5 more to replace the bad and/or lost bolts. read more

I went to Honest Tom's at Great Falls Plaza for an inspection and failed for "bad" windshield wipers and a nail in the tire. The wipers were working perfectly fine yesterday, and when I checked them later today, they were just slightly out of place--an easy fix that took seconds. They tried to charge $30 for new wipers. As for the tire, they said the whole thing needed to be replaced for a nail that looked brand new and wasn't even rounded. When I got home, the nail was suddenly pushed all the way in meaning they placed it there at the shop. It hadn't punctured the tire at all. No plug was even needed. 1 minute and I fixed all the damaged they caused to my car and passed the inspection same day elsewhere. Definitely didn't feel like an honest experience. read more

Took my CR-V in to get line fixed from tank latch inside to outside tank as it quite working. Also took new headlight covers that I bought for them to change out for me. They took the time to look over my entire vehicle thank goodness as my power steering mechanism was going to break at anytime. I got my tire swapped out here after getting a flat, and they made sure to give me daily updates when the new tire ended up arriving late (through no fault of this shop). I dropped off my car at 8am and I was the 2nd car in line to change all 4 tires,wipers changed and alignment. Service advisor said it will be done at 3 but didn't finished until 4:41 smh. Hey mechanic's out there doesn't it only take under an hour to change all 4 tires? Also alignment under an hour too lol. read more

I called last minute to see if I could get an alignment, and I'm assuming I was speaking with Tom, but I'm not certain. Anyway, he was incredibly kind and patient and helpful. He gave me a great price for the alignment from what I'm used to, and a copy of what they did with before/after imagery, which I've never gotten before and I really appreciated. It was done very quickly... I think less than an hour... I don't live in the area, and was bringing someone else's car there, but my car needs an alignment too, and I wish I didn't live 80 minutes away!! I'd go back in a heartbeat for my own car. This place is great. Brought my jeep in for electrical issues and Rigo had his guys check it out. Rigo then went above and beyond and found out that the jeep was still under warranty for 2 more days. He called me and told me to take it to the dealer since the warranty was still good. I appreciated the honesty. He could have never mentioned it and charged me for it. Honesty goes a long way.
