Their sandwiches are incredible especially the Rachael and their giant turkey club but on top of that the employees are very welcoming and it's also a great location to visit as they sell a wide variety of jams, jelly, candy, and much more! So much potential. So much disappointment. Owner leaves her high school age son to work the door while she drinks. Then comes back drunk to help with cook times, somehow makes it take longer. Wait for food is crazy for deli cut sandwiches. If no one is in the place, then maybe try it if you have 45 minutes. Otherwise? Just go somewhere else. Having noticed that the long-standing "coming soon!" sign was not longer in the window, I wanted to check out the new Sterling's Amish Deli. Taking over the same storefront as the former Amish Deli (home of "Bowling Green's Biggest, Baddest BLT"), I had high hopes which were only buoyed by the enthusiastic welcome I received from the smiling staff as I entered the establishment. The nice lady at the order counter apologized and said the grill was having issues during their soft opening, but that did not matter to me, as I already had my eyes on trying one of the 2-dog combos. After quickly reviewing my options, I ordered the Sterling dogs with a side of coleslaw, plus a fountain Coke. Before tax, the total came to $9.98, which was pretty reasonable for lunch downtown. As I made my way to one of the booths, I cast my eye around the dining room, and frankly, I liked what I saw! The new laminate floor looked great, as did the brand new -and spotlessly clean- tables, chairs, and booths. The decorations and wall hangings were tasteful and un-cluttered, and I especially liked how the blue light horse silhouette (visible on far-right side of my dining room photo) conveyed a sense of good-Amish-food-meets-21st-century. After a pleasantly short wait, my order was delivered to my booth. The all-beef dogs were garnished with crispy-cooked bacon, red pepper relish, and shredded cheddar cheese. As you can see in my food photo, they looked great, and tasted even better! The side of coleslaw was also very good, which kind of surprised me, as I expected it to be overpowered by the clearly visible chunks of red onion, but the flavours melded together perfectly. I also liked how the staff stopped by my table to ask how the food was, and how speedy and friendly they were any time I took my fountain cup up to the counter for a refill. PROS: very good food, very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a good atmosphere CONS: for a soft opening, I felt they were great, as I had zero issues! Overall I rate Sterling's Amish Deli as being Very Good, and look forward to returning! read more

Stopped on a road trip wanting a non-chain restaurant the window sign said best Rueben...They deli is small and has a historic charm, the owner was welcoming and friendly. And yes, the Reuben was one of the best we've had. Highly recommend and we will definatley stop on our next road trip in Bowling Green direction. read more

No fucking way I would ever come back here. Do not go here! One of the cutest delis around!! I had driven by this deli many times and always wanted to stop in so today I did and I'm so glad. I got the Atlanta hotdog and potato salad to go it was so delicious. The staff are very friendly and genuine. I loved all of the other items they had for sale such as beef jerky and pickled beets. Ordered a BLT and the Detroit dogs both with a side of fries. Order was ready for pick up on time. Person who took the order was very good. Letting me know what came with the orders just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake ( thanks sincerely!) Fries would have been better if they hadn't had to travel, which isn't the Deli's fault. This place is one of my absolute favorites! I find myself craving it at least once a week. I love the Italian sandwich, but all the sandwiches are delicious and made with super fresh ingredients. My boyfriend also says their burgers are great! Sandwiches aside, I have to say my favorite part is the pie. So many fun flavors, and they carry hand pies as well (think grown up version of those hostess fruit pies). The banana cream and pecan are two of my favorites, but I honestly haven't tried one I didn't like. They also carry an impressive selection of grab & go Amish-made snacks and specialty items.
