The team at TLC removed an old large deck and pergola, and replaced with sod, irrigation, and a large pad and walkway of decomposed granite. The team even reused our old mulch to fill in spots I opted to not landscape at this time, and left our yard looking pristine. I had two last minute requests (one being adding a net for gophers 30 minutes before sod installation) and they were so flexible with no hesitation. I truly appreciate the beautiful upgraded yard TLC gave us, and will definitely use them for future work.

On August 18th, Paul came out to look at the work I needed done: a repair and rebuild of a decomposed granite path that had eroded in my backyard. He took measurements and we discussed the details of the work to be performed. By August 21st, I had not yet received a quote, so I reached out to Michelle in their office. SIX DAYS LATER, on August 27th, I was copied on an email from Michelle to Paul requesting the info from the site visit so that she could prepare a quote. I received a quote the following day, Aug 28th, signed it and sent it back the next day. Expecting to be notified that they had received my signed bid and to schedule the work, I was annoyed that I had to reach out to THEM on Sept 4th for an update. I HEARD NOTHING IN RESPONSE! So, I pinged them again on Sept 12th. This time, I received a reply apologizing for the delay and some BS about a new scheduling system. I was told that my job was added to the work list, and that the team had been notified asking for an estimated start date. Here we are, two weeks later, and I have heard absolutely NOTHING from them!! I am forced now to start the process over and find another contractor to do the work. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC customer service. The lack of communication is inexcusable!!!

Of the other two appointment, one of them did not even send me a proposal after promising me he would. I wanted to have a few proposals before I choose a company so I called a few more. I ended up going with Bay Area Greenscapes and I could not be happier. They were on time to the initial appointment, and Wayne spent a lot of time explaining the process. I was not sure what I wanted but Wayne had some great ideas and was an enormous help. The proposal was timely and was easy to read. They planted a beautiful tiered garden of box hedge, azalea and more and added rock gardens around the established trees, creating depth and variety below the porch that coordinates well with the style and color of the house. They installed much-needed path lighting and added charming lighting in the trees with spot lighting from below--all on timers for maximum effect and convenience. They made some improvements to the back yard as well, creating a flagstone patio for our outdoor dining table, adding a flagstone path through our azalea/hydrangea garden for better access, and a flagstone pad--a nice level surface--at the water spigot. From planning to execution, working with Steve and his team was smooth and collaborative. They took what we had envisioned for the space and elevated it with their expert design. The finished product is fabulous. My front yard not only looks great--people stop and comment how lovely it is--it also has added to the property value and is worth the investment! The quality and expertise of Gardelle's work alone speaks for itself, but it doesn't stop there. We also added a large 16' diameter circular brick patio and 6' diameter fire pit in the back. We replanted both the front and backyard with drought tolerant plants and had drip irrigation installed in both areas. Steve's team, headed by Luis and Francisco, along with Jaime, Jose and Jesus, the mason, were amazing to work with! They arrived on time, worked throughout the day and cleaned up afterwards everyday! Iliana, Steve's office manager was also a joy to work with! They don't do the design work, but they are excellent at implementing a design and doing irrigation. Ours was a complex mix of concrete, decking, plants, borders, rocks, and lawn. 3-Years Review Update:…read more I posted current 2020 pics of our front and backyard landscaping over 3 years old installed by KD Landscaping. As you can see, the total landscape is thriving, looks great and we still get inquires on who did our landscape. Many of our neighbors assumed or thought it was installed by a more popular and prominent Brentwood Landscaping company. I cannot speak for other Khandy customers, this is my personal interaction and observed work of KD Landscaping. Khandy has done at least 12 projects in our community and all still looks great. I wish they would do a review for KD Landscaping, but that's not what they like to do. So I only saw not so good reviews on KD Landscaping website. I sympathize with their experience. Fortunately, our and many more households in our neighborhood experience with KD Landscaping was different. Khandy stands by his work. He replaced 10 plants that didn't survive the very hot Brentwood summer back in 2018. Khandy also came back and fixed a broken sprinkler head 2 years post installation. There are some hairline cracks (3) in cement work that appeared after a year or two but they were at high stress points that cement would tend to break. Could it have been prevented? Maybe. But the cement work is still looks great. I would still recommend KD Landscaping for new and redoing yard landscaping. I would also strongly recommend going through a landscape architect to customize your yard first, then give the blue print to Khandy to follow. That is what we did. His workers are skilled and very hard working. They worked on our yard when the summer temp reached 103F! Communication might be a little challenging, but be patient. Khandy understands what you want. Be sure to get a final complete estimate of work. Payments to KD Landscaping are done the right way. Khandy doesn't ask for 50% upfront without doing a single hour of work. You pay in intervals after each segment of work is complete. You inspect the work and pay the agreed amount if you're satisfied. Give KD Landscaping a call. At least get a quote!

We basically had to replant every single thing he planted. He did a pretty good job on the pavers. He has no business doing landscaping.

I was already in contract with another landscape architecture firm at the time that I met Manny, and I was interested in having him do subcomponents of the work. Manny was able to work with the original contractors' plans, upload them to CAD, and fine-tune the installation. His ability to make on-the-spot design changes was helpful. His crew was professional, hard -working, and always showed up on time. Manny did a solid job of providing estimates and sticking to them. Manny is smart and has excellent people skills both with the client (me!) and in the way he interacts with his crew. I feel that Manny provides an excellent value for the services he provides. He brings the professionalism of a large firm without the overhead. I have asked him to return to conduct additional work, and I have recommended him to my friends. One other note: the primary landscaper on my project was territorial and at times spoke rudely and unprofessionally to Manny and his crew. I thought Manny handled this tension with kindness and was able to successfully diffuse the hostility. I appreciated his ability to work under sometimes-stressful conditions.
