i went here a few times as a kid for birthday parties and had a blast, recently ive started bowling more consistently and a little more seriously, and it's still the same vibe from when i was young. each and every employee i've encountered has been such a pleasant experience, i went to multiple other ally's recently too and none compare, price wise and vibe wise steve cooks is the place to go. lanes play great! (except lane 9) only wish i have is for league times to be posted so you don't drive out there just for no lanes to be open, so maybe give them a call first to be sure that can fit you in! the gentleman who i assume is the owner has come in clutch multiple times! read more

1-Star Review (Would give zero if I could): Don't waste your time. I've called ahead to ask about open bowling hours, showed up early to those specific times and even asked about reserving a lane -- but none of it matters. You're not allowed to reserve during open bowling hours, and 80% of the time there are no lanes available anyway because league play takes up almost everything. So what's the point of "open bowling" if the public can't actually bowl? To make it worse, the guy behind the counter is consistently rude and acts like you're bothering him just by asking a question. There's zero effort to be helpful or even polite. We really tried to give this place a chance multiple times but it's clear they're not interested in regular customers. Total disappointment. Not family oriented at all. Take your free time and money to a place that appreciates it and where you will actually get to bowl every time you go. read more

Been here a lot, love it but my last experience was terrible, had a terribly rude lady who was not cooperative with communicating wait times and had us wait an hour and a half just to tell us we had 30 minutes to play. Didn't communicate that there was a league match that night and was not polite either. Everyone else was great. read more

The man working the front desk was incredibly rude and almost irritated to be working or having to help people. Rudely said we'd have to wait at least 20-30 minutes which we were fine with. First, if you are trying to get in a few games with the family go somewhere else. Leagues rule this place. Second, DO NOT get food from the grill. It is the nastiest kitchen I have ever seen. I don't like that theres a bar here and young kids come in and out of it with no one at the door to check IDs before entering, I don't believe kids should be allowed to enter a bar. Came here for cosmic bowl...this place is horrible. I can see why they weren't busy. The balls they have all have weird finger placements, different size holes for each finger and then random holes on the side of the balls. We couldn't find a single ball to use for either of us. It's like these are balls that someone screwed up and placed them out for people to use. The people at the desk weren't friendly at all. Plus the seating has tape all over it and is just dirty and nasty. The Cosmo bowling is a joke your just playing in the dark with lit up pins and music. That's normal bowling at all the other bowling alleys in the area. This place needs a makeover, update your balls, seating and lighting or close down cause it a joke. This place looks like it hasn't been touched since the late 80s or early 90s. Even if you brought your own ball it still wouldn't get more than 2 stars from us. We won't be back to this place ever again and would recommend everyone to go elsewhere, alot better places in the area. read more

Anybody that rates this place less than five stars is nuts. I normally go here on Tuesdays right when they open. The front desk is very helpful. I am 59 and normally find a good number of people my age that are also bowling at the same time. The lanes are well oiled and easy to bowl on. The other people that are there are always helpful in giving me hints on how to better my game. I highly recommend fireside lanes. read more

Love this place!!! I've been coming here since I was a kid..... Bowling is good clean fun! However the bar has some dirty fun too. Lol. The people here are super friendly.. the drinks are just right. They have kareoke like three days a week. We just moved back to this side of town. I couldn't wait to go check this place out again. I hadn't been there for a couple years.... I've been twice about 3:00PM during the week. Both times there were roughly 15-20 lanes open and we were told it was a hour to a hour and a half wait and we had to be off the lane by 5:30 for league. I understand leagues are a big deal but why can't we bowl at 3pm? I asked and the very rude man behind the counter told me "it's just the way it is" - I believe they advertise a great happy hour bowling rate but don't let you bowl at that time. The good: cheapest bowling in town. The bad: good luck getting a lane without a long wait. Their website advertises the best times to bowl and I have been there 4 different times during these hours and each time I was waitlisted and had to bide by time for 20 to 35 minutes prior to getting a lane. They should just update their site to omit any reference to a best time to open bowl. Based on my experience you will wait, period. Secondly I bought some tape for my thumb from the pro shop. I only know it by its red color. The pro shop guy had none of that but sold me a different colored tape, claiming it was just the same as the red but a different brand. Nope. Place is so outdated. Been coming here since I was a kid and it looks exactly the same 25+ years later. Also smells extremely like feet. Not sure if he was the owner(I sure hope not) but an older gentleman helped us on a Friday late afternoon during the 3-6pm $2 play. We had 4 kids with us and 3 adults. When we asked how long for a lane he said rudely it depends 1 or 2 lanes. Obviously 2 would take longer. So we opted in getting just 1 lane for 7 people. Was given no wait time so we decided to grab food at the snack bar. As I was ordering I heard my name get called on the loud speaker once, then twice and then a third time. At this point I was rushing to order and get to the desk. He rudely said are you (my name). I said yes, sorry. He rudely commented that I said your name 3 times. I told him I was ordering and couldn't get to the desk. He completely ignored what I said and immediately told me to pay and asked for our shoes sizes. Again very rude. Then I asked him did we get 1 or 2 lanes. He said 1 lane and he needed it back by 5:30. Hence, the time was 4:45, which really gave us no time to finish a game let alone 2 for 7 people, half of them kids. I asked why he needed the lane back even though happy hour ended at 6pm. He said a league was coming in, which was total bullshit! A family of 4 sat down at an open lane next to us and paid $2 for 2 games. Which I thought was weird. Had no idea why we had limited time but this family next to us was given no time frame. I knew this because I asked them. Wow. Not sure what happened there but it really pissed me off. Enough to never come to this run down place again. Steer clear of this place. There are better options out there. Gave 2 stars basically because not all the staff is bad. Some actually very courteous. And food at the snack bar is decent and they serve a good amount for the price. Other than that not worth coming here. read more

I had called into Fireside lanes to see if I can place an order by phone for their mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini. The lady I spoke to named Debbie, was completely sweet. She stated that they normally don't do orders over the phone. I told her I used to do them all the time, I live right here 2 minutes away and I will come pay for sure. She said okay, come to the bar to pay when you get here. Fast forward 15 mins, I get the the bar, however she is busy assisting other customers, so I went to the snack bar to pay instead of bothering her. I was assisted by a young man and explained to him that I had placed an order by phone, and I was here to pay for the order and pick up. He stated that they don't do orders by phone. I explained that we just placed it and spoke to a woman, (we didn't know her name until we left, and asked for her name) the guy said that maybe we spoke to this other lady who happen to be walking by behind us. I approached her and said, hi excused me, are you the lady I just spoke to about placing the order by phone. She IMMEDIATELY cut me off and screamed WE DON'T DO ORDERS BY PHONE. I said oh, well we just spoke to someone over the phone and placed an order. She said SUPER UNPROFESSIONALLY and RUDELY, I AM THE MANAGER AND WE NEVER DO THAT. This RUDE manager goes back to the bar to get this nice employee & starts yelling at the bar chick IN FRONT OF ALL THE CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES saying we don't do orders by phone, we never have blah blah blah. I can't believe she yelled at her employee like that, it's so rude and unprofessional. I finally get annoyed because of the miscommunication between the employees, I ended up placing a new order since this BRILLIANT manager KNEW EVERYTHING, and told me the order was NEVER being made. COME TO FIND OUT, the order was already in process due to the phone order.... (GENIUS) The GENIUS manager then says, did you pay already? I said we just did for the new order, she said NO you didn't, then I said YES I DID, ask your employee. She turns to him and he confirms I just paid for a new order. The manager then gets mad, asks how I paid. I said I paid debit, then she gets pissed off saying this is why we don't do phone orders, now there is two orders blah blah blah.(LIKE THIS IS MY PROBLEM!!??) I said THIS IS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO TELL YOU BUT YOU KEEP CUTTING ME OFF!!!!! SO!!!! They had to cancel an order and continue with our PHONE ORDER like we said we were there for to begin with. This lady was so freaking rude, didn't apologize and ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT BE WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS SO CALLED MANAGER IS LIKE 6FT TALL BIGGER CHICK AND CRINKLY SHOULDER LENGTH BLONDISH BROWN HAIR. AVOID HER SHE IS NASTY AND RUDE... I like it here. The Groupon is hard to beat- 2 games for 6 people with shoes, 3 nachos/fries and 3 pitchers for $65. Seeing other reviews and having a similar experience, not really sure if it just happened to be a bad day for Fireside Lanes, so I'm not going to be too harsh, but it was a two-star day for me. We arrived on Saturday at noon (when public bowling starts) and there was a line of about 3 people. We were shoe'd and assigned a lane with bumpers for the kids in about 10 minutes after arriving, once the kids had figured out what their shoe size was (which is not easy). My twins (10 years old) are new to bowling, as well as, my niece (6 years old). They are also small. So obviously needing a smaller ball. There was a lack of any around, in fact an SCFL employee had to bring us one 6 lb ball to share between the 3 of them. Not too big of a deal. We had a LOT of open lanes around us, however, they decided to put a large family group right next to us. They had 4 kids and their parents constantly coming into our area, as well as, all of them hanging out on the floor next to the ball return on their side. Always the concern of knocking out one of their kids on my back swing since they were ALWAYS up there. All of this could have been overlooked since it was the family that was rude and unaware of their surroundings. So I can't blame Fireside for that. The real ass-kicker for Fireside was the food we ordered. We ordered some fresh potato chips and garlic fries for the girls to munch on until we had lunch. It took them 30 minutes to make this. When they arrived, the fries were cold and the chips were burnt. We muscled through them the best we could, but they were so greasy and disgusting we wound up tossing the rest. Especially when it is served with a side of mayonnaise. Would probably go back for bowling to see if it is any better and I had already eaten. But yeah, definitely not eating there ever again. read more

A group of 5 guys (myself and 4 friends) decided to go bowling and have a fun night out only to end up here. The staff was beyond rude, the lines were long and the the food was mediocre at best. All said and done this ended up costing me $100.... I can live with the food, and the wait time seeing as it gets crowded but I certainly won't be spoken down to as a paying customer.
