Office Experience - specifically Trish and the person that receives new client Unfortunately, most of my encounters have been with office staff. I did actually meet with Dr Gee and his assistant and they seem like really nice people. But the front office staff and Trish are very rude and sarcastic. They don't even let you finish talking, cut you off and make rude remarks and have a very sarcastic tone. My family will now be looking for a new dentist. As a newer customer of Dr. Gee (summer 2024), and referred by a patient, and based on the rave reviews, I am pretty confused on the treatment I received. Nothing wrong with Dr. Gee's work and bedside manner, though I only had one consultation in the summer and one filling Jan 2025. The way the staff manages their billing, patient care, and delivery to their patients-- just totally rubs me the wrong way. Here are the highlights: - Several instances trying to get my file from my oral surgeon to complete my consultation - had to follow up multiple times-- they seemed to have overlooked my file for almost a month. -I don't appreciate being talked down to multiple instances when checking in on status of my file, asking a billing question, and also being demanded I go talk both of my dental insurance companies so THEY can get paid. Overall delivery of these asks could have been much better for a customer. I was honestly triggered almost every single time I was on the phone with Trish. Overall passive aggressive and combative. -Billing admin is not clear and not organized 1. Never got my bill because they mistyped my email - and I don't appreciate being talked to like a child to check my email. 2. I came in for a referral for a retreat and insurance was charged- I guess this is a byproduct of all insurances where a 5 min live conversation is a ~$150 charge to my insurance. 3. I made sure I kept my supplemental dental insurance so I didn't have to pay (one covers 60% and another covers 50%)-- and I still get a bill for $5.60 - and trying to convince me that I should be happy with a small bill when I paid over $80/month for this supplemental insurance seems very confusing. 4. One of my insurances rejected their claim and they called me to go see what was the reason--Demand I had to chase my insurance or check my files for the reason? And the reason seemed to be they didn't document the request properly. And a threat then you will have to pay for the whole thing is ALSO NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR. There are many other places that will be happily to take my money for less attitude and better care. I'm still shocked how bad this experience was. read more

I've been going to Dr. Gee since 2017 and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his team! It's rare to find very genuine and charismatic dentists and I have referred several people to him because of how great the care is. I've gotten regular cleanings, retainers, referrals for ortho work from him and I actually look forward to going in for my regular checkups. read more

Beware of the other review here of the unprofessionalism and aggressiveness of the office manager/ billing department 'Trish'. Sarah who helps schedule at the front desk is wonderful and Dr. Gee is amazing, but having to deal with office manager Trish over billing is absolutely not worth it. She is extremely rude, was laughing at me, and is the reason why my family and I will no longer be coming to this dentist. This has happened many times with my family with her because we've gone for years, but are done dealing with it. If Dr. Gee ever has a new office manager, I'd love to come back to him. read more

I think Dr. Gee is the best dentist we've ever had. Our whole family goes to him. He's easy to schedule with, he does excellent work, uses texting and email for reminders, all of the dental hygienists are excellent, they use state of the art equipment and technology, and the front desk is exceptionally friendly. But one of the best things is he's very reasonable about billing. I recently chipped off a large portion of my front bottom tooth. He filled it once and it fell out after a couple of months. I went back in and said maybe I need a crown. He said we will keep trying to fill it a few more times because it's always better to save the tooth. And he's not charging me for any of the additional work. That's amazing!! On top of all of this great work and staff, he is the most friendly guy who is very fun to talk to. I was so happy to be a patient of Dr. Gee's. Everyone that worked there was so kind and helpful, it was actually a pleasure to go to the dentist! I have been to a few dentists, and more often than not, they always push unnecessary and painful dental work on you to "improve" your smile. Although, one of the dentists was in LA and work on Angelina Jolie's kid's... so I guess it should have been expected... Dr. Gee NEVER pushed me to have unnecessary dental work. Only when I asked about teeth whitening would he bring it up. He even offered to smooth out a few of my teeth for FREE! Unfortunately I moved to SF and going down to Sunnyvale was just too difficult, but I wanted to at least give them a 5* review that is well deserved! I moved back to the area and needed a new dentist and came to Dr. Nina and Dr. Gee's office and was not disappointed. Their staff is super friendly and they always greet you by first name when you come in the office. Dr. Nina is amazing, compared to previous dentists, she was very gentle and efficient, which I liked because I do NOT like going to the dentist and get anxious while in the seat. I HATE going to the dentist. I am a TERRIBLE dental patient. My sister is a hygienist but getting to her office over Hwy 17 has become more and more difficult, After recently breaking a tooth, I saw Dr. Markuson. I was also due for a teeth cleaning, and saw Sally, the hygienist. I found her services to very good. Her father was a dentist, she's been around dentistry all her life. Dr. Markuson took a lot of time to explain what had to be done and how much of the tooth he would try and save, etc. The injection was the worst part (of course!) and one numb Dr. Markuson began drilling and explaining the shaping, etc. I think he feels he's an artist. Well, long story short(er), the staff called three to four times to make sure I was okay as we awaited the permanent crown from the dental lab. I found the services to be EXCELLENT and GENTLE. I just started using Dr Nina and this office and am very impressed. They are knowledgeable but still take the time to explain everything if you ask. I like that they use new dental techniques and emails/texts for reminders and appointments. My children aren't afraid of Dr Nina either so that makes my life so much easier. Been a fan of Dr. Markuson and staff for 10 years. I have very sensitive gums and tired jaw from clenching teeth when I work and they are very conscious of that. Each time I visit they offer me a "bite-down" piece so I don't have to struggle to keep my mouth open while they work. THey also offer a gum numbing rinse so it's less uncomfortable when they clean. Very professional, conscientious and good at what they do. They are great. read more
