The Absolute WORST Color I have EVER had... i have been having my hair Highlighted for over 40 yrs. I have never had a bad experience till this... Steven Todd ruined my hair... I went in with blonde hair expecting to refresh my highlights. I left with BROWN hair and a racing stripe on the top of my head over an inch wide that was and STILL is Donald Trump Orange color... Brown toner was put on my hair to try and cover the orange. After one wash the orange became brighter.. Unfortunately, the brown toner permanetly darkened my existing blonde i had arrived with.. The entire appointment I was never faced to the mirror... Wonder why???? I don't live there so I couldn't come back in, even if I wanted to, as he suggested... NEVER would I have gone back for more abuse... I should have ran when I walked in and saw only little old ladies with white hair getting perms.... This has been a complete nightmare for the past 2 1/2 months. I have spent hundreds of $$$ trying to get this repaired..Only so much can be put on hair without totally destroying it..I am stuck with this horrible color. Don't know what Planet this guy lives on....This is not the end of this.....I am entitled to major reimbursement... Stylists have been shocked and appalled at what has been done to my hair.... read more

I've trusted Steve to cut my hair for many years. Recently I took my daughter and my son because I was tired of rolling the dice at birds or other similar hair places. The experience was wonderful, with Steven and his entire staff making us feel cared for all the way through the process. My son does NOT like to sit in a chair for a haircut. This time, from shampoo all the way to the cut he was smiling and even laughing (in between snips, of course). My daughter received the best cut she's ever had. She wanted a style that was inspired by Anime and manga, and she brought in various comic books to show her inspiration. Stephen talked with her and suggested styles that would work for both her hair and the look she wanted to achieve. In the end everyone was very very happy. Just like my counterpart above, I do hate to share my secrets, but this gentelman is WAY too good to not give him mad props. Nate Gordon has been doing my hair since the the salon was originally in Lakeway. Their location changed to Anderson and then just down the street when they got a swinging spot, so do not go to the old place. They are still around, just a different location. Make sure you have the new address. I can count on one hand how many stylists I would say that about and he and his family are the only ones I have ever cared to even review. So, I do not give that type of kudos to many, but he is the BOMB! Besides being the most caring guy, he has been very flexible to help me and my family (he cuts all our hair) out through my 4.5 years of chemo, he truly LISTENS! First of all, Nate was kick-a$$ before traveling around the country to become a certifed bad-a$$. Comng from a family of premier stylists, he just has it in his blood and I have enjoyed workng with the entire family because they are all awesome! Then, you add his own natural, instinctual talent and he is just perfect! I have VERY long, thick hair...Native American thick from Daddy with a finer hair follicle from Mama. Never ONCE has Nate EVER tried to cut all my hair off in a nasty style, so many stylists have tried. I cannot tell you how many chairs I have left, as a result. He has fabulous, long, curly tresses himself, so he knows how to really teach you to take care of it and helps you maintain a healthy, beautifully cut mane. Right before we met about 7 years ago, pregnancy turned my once board-straight hair, to a seriously wavy more dry texture - before my illness was diagnosed. But, Nate has help me maintain my tresses through 4.5 years of damaging chemo. I have lost some, but fortunately, it is a regimen that does not make all your hair fall out. But, PLEASE trust me! Invest in products that Nate gives you! You do not use half as much and it ends up being well worth it because you do not have to apply it as often. Most places push products just for money, but it is truly not the same here. Would you pay a master carpenter to come and do woodwork in your home, then not treat the wood with the oils she/he expressly recommended? Especially when you are maintaining thin, dry or damaged hair, these products are more than worth the investment. And I am a "thrfity" little elf to put it nicely! Nate is amazing in the hair artistry of color. It took me 41 years to finally go for coloring my hair with some fun colorblocking and WOW! I am hooked! I hit the jackpot because we met Nate before he became a certified, I think the title is Master level?, Redken Hair Artist who teaches stylists around the country. He did the BEST job on my hair. After a lifetime of watching my mom bleach her hair out of a bottle, I was terrified of having over processed hair. Not so, all the products that we use to sustain my color and moisture (and you gotta remember I am doing chemo so my hair is dry and hormonal) has remained fabulous. I was not trying to hide my gray, because I want it, actually, but it is cloaked until I get enough to fully incorporate it and make it part of my new style. It took the violet prefectly, as will any gray with any colors. I am overdue for a new cut, so I am going to post pics with my new VIOLET and BLACKBERRY strands when it is cut to fit the coloration even better. Nate is so talented, he has taken a 41 year-young mama and colored my hair purple and I get raving compliments from women and men in their teens to their 70s! Our headmistress who is very conservative, even adores my hair because it does not look cheap dimestore punk, like so many can and do. As silly as it sounds, the color looks natural in its placement as if little purple fairies came and did their magick as I slept! :-) Honestly, I do not foresee switching may hair back to its all natural state even being a "granola girl". Even if I was still in a professional office position, it would actually work it is that classy. Ladies and men alike, if you are feeling blue, do what I did and go purple...or RED or PINK? OR whatever makes you smile. You WILL NOT be sorry if you call Nate! Blessed be! Solmama P.S. Now, for us "thrifty" folks...oh, I will just say it...cheap, bargain hunters, I give the price as moderate because honestly, for the amazing service, time and work, the price for my seriously long hair is very moderate and well-priced. I have been to ALL kinds of high-end and independent stylists. You are not getting a Gr0up0n or L1v1ng $0c1al, but seriously, you simply DO NOT want a stylist who has to use coupons to get business. You just CANNOT cut corners on hair care or you really can tell. My young daughter's and husband's cuts are also reflective of moderate pricing, so I truly feel this is accurate. read more

I have naturally curly hair and had let way too much time pass since my previous haircut. My hair had the texture of straw and was beginning to feel out of control. By the time I finally got around to booking an appointment I had discovered that my stylist of several years had moved out of state. After several days of sadness and feeling determined that I would never get another haircut, I realized it was time to move on. I read through countless Yelp reviews before booking an appointment at Steven Todd Salon. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get in within the week. With my previous stylist I'd have to wait 2-4 weeks for an appointment. My appointment was with Nate. I explained that I was very lazy about my hair and couldn't be bothered to do anything other than towel dry, add a little product, comb, scrunch and allow to hair dry. He did a great job explaining the type of cut he was going to give me as well as the products he was using that were appropriate to my hair type. I came into the Steven Todd salon with hair that was dry, damaged and green from a terrible experience at another salon. Keiko was my stylist for my appointment and was kind and truly made me feel like she wanted take care of my poor damaged locks. My hair was not an easy fix but with help from Kieko and another wise & wonderful stylist Sherri I walked out with my hair looking a million times better than how I walked in. Even the owner of the shop Steven made sure I was pleased with my results, making this an overall great experience. A co worker of mine referred me to Sherri at Steven Todd Salon. I was skeptical at first because I'm natural and have yet to find someone who can handle my hair the way I like. My first visit with Sherri, I went in for a blow out and trim. In the 4 years I have been natural no one has been able to straighten my hair and it last more than one day. Sherri did an amazing job on straightening my hair and it literally last me almost 3 weeks!!!! When I washed my hair, it bounced right back to my beautiful curls. Very impressed. Today (5/14/2016), I went to revisit Sherri to color my hair. My hair has always taken well to color even when I had a perm. However, this was my first time getting colored since having long natural hair. I wanted to go bright but Sherri gave me the cons of doing so in one visit. Stylists I've had in the past would never care about keeping my hair healthy they just wanted to get paid. Sherri genuinely cares about the health of your hair more than anything and that's what I LOVE about her. On top of that she is very friendly, welcoming, yet honest. This rating is more for David Bain, a stylist that works up there. He has been cutting my hair for 20 years. One of the main reason I go up there is his cuts are precise, clean, and he always keeps my haircuts up to date. He also cuts my wife's hair and does her color as well. She has thick curly hair and according to her, he really knows how to cut/color curly hair well. He is good at making a certain style of haircut and making it a reality. There are some cuts that do not fit certain people but he is great at adapting and making it work. He has great technical skill as well in giving haircuts. One thing we like most about Dave is that he is honest. The guy will never try to BS you into a bad hairstyle. I almost left with a bad haircut once because I had a ninja sneeze come out of nowhere and moved, but he was able to fix it... He is new to this salon but I like the location because it is central/north, has plenty of parking, and plenty of places to dine and drink around there. Oh, they pour me booze at the salon. I went in on Friday as a walk in. Steven was an extremely welcoming person and said Nate would be cutting my hair. While waiting, Steven came and chatted with my son. This is a big thing to me. Being nice to customers/clients is a hard thing for businesses sometimes! Nate then took me back, we talked about what I wanted. He asked what my daily routine was, which most hair stylists don't ask. I don't want to get a hair cut that I can't handle fixing every day! He then washed, and cut my hair, explaining EVERYTHING he was doing and EVERY product he was using. He made small talk and asked about me, what i did, etc. I don't know about you, but I hate that awkward silence when someone is cutting your hair! I walked out of there loving my haircut and how my curls sat after washing them the next day! This was the BEST experience I have had at a salon. McKalla is amazing! She really helped with my crazy dry hair and educated me to the fullest on what I could do with and without products to fix it. She is very very knowledgeable about products and hair in general, I really liked that she wasn't just trying to sell me on anything but really explaining the benefits for products that could help me.
