Listen up if you want any type of color or highlights I would stay away. This place charges you over $100.00 for highlights, doesn't create the color you want, leaves your hair wet and tells you "oh i did my job and I can't do anything else for you" Yes. I had my hair highlighted by Nate (Steven's son) and he literally turned my pretty dark brown hair into a pumpkin color. He literally only applied the color and walked away for about 1hr then shampoo and told me "how do you like it?" I nearly died and told him its way too orange so he used a toner to tone down the orange but it didn't work. When I got home I called him and he told me to come in the next day to fix it. However, it was so ugly, so orange I could not even look at myself. I asked Steven for a refund because it wasn't what I asked for and I told Nate about 7 times please no orange no red highlights but he didn't seem to care as he was so busy with his other clients that day. Rule 1 don't go in to see someone to do highlights/color if they look busy because they are. Rule 2 skip Nate and Steven all together. Rule 3 Never go here period. And oh they failed to give me a refund as they told me they "performed services on me 3 times" ...LOL Yes 3 times --1. orange highlights 2. toning them down 3. coloring my hair the next day without conditioner to make it "look better" and oh promising me a "complimentary color" the next time I come in. Really guys? By the way Steven Todd emailed me he was going to refund me then refused to do so when I asked about it the next day. Rule 4 Never trust Steven Todd. Rule 5 Thomas Saverio and Steven Todd Salon are one of the same. Skip these 2 places if you're seeking any hair services as these people are in the business to steal your money, not perform the service requested and lie. read more

I recently reconnected with Lisa O'Brien after several years as a poor grad student when I had cut expenses by trimming my own hair. I would make a 1-2 times-a-year trip to a very reputable colorist in Austin to match my very-hard-to-match hair color (hair "colors" actually) for covering the incoming gray. That person did a great job, but there always seemed to be some tweaking required and my hair never came out the exact same color twice. I missed Lisa's awesome haircuts that I could always "work" once I got home, and she has given me some of the best "simple little tips" for quickly achieving particular looks at home that I still use today. She even offers to let you bring in your own tools from home and show you how to use them for the best results. Lisa is truly an artist when it comes to knowing the best look to make each client really look their best. It's a skill she has mastered better than any hair stylist I've ever known. I completely trust her judgement calls and her haircuts are awesome! Right before graduation this past May, Lisa was nice enough to squeeze me in for "the works" at the last minute. I have used her twice now for color (full highlights with 3-4 different colors). Both times, she knocked it out of the park with the best color job I've ever had from anyone, bar none. I saw Steven Todd for highlights and a cut and he was amazing. I have been searching for a place to get bright highlights in my dirty blond/ light brown hair for YEARS but they always turn out yellow/golden which is not what I was looking for. Plus, other places have always used bleach to achieve the look which has destroyed my hair. Steven, on the other hand quickly understood what I was looking for and was able to achieve exactly the light blond non-brassy highlights I have always wanted, but still protecting the integrity of my hair so that it is still soft and manageable. He was kind enough to show me some helpful products at my request (which I got) but there was no pressure to upsell at all. Best of all, the products he introduced me to actually work. I have always had very hard hair to cut. Curly seems to make it tough. So I always go through several stylists whenever I have to change. When I find someone good, I stick with them until they raise their prices too high. Steven Todd does a fantastic job, and he has never raised his prices. He is really good at cutting gray hair. I get compliments on my hair at least twice a week. Just got back from a wedding where a guy my age said he hated me for my hair. I never even have to comb or brush it. Steer it into place after shower with my hands and thats it. His haircuts last me about 6 weeks, and my hair grows very fast. I have naturally curly hair and my hairdresser had retired. After much online research, I found Shanna at the Steven Todd Salon on Anderson Lane. She is awesome! She has been teaching me how to take care of my curly hair and gradually changing my hairstyle so that it's better suited for my type of hair. I have been getting my hair cut with Steven for about 8 years, and I won't go to anyone else. He is a master with precision cuts and is the only one allowed to touch my blunt-cut bangs. Dave Bain has been cutting my hair for 20 years so when he joined Steven Todd salon there was no question I would follow him there. I was not disappointed. The salon is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Dave really knows his craft and I'm always pleased with his work.
