my ordeal started on may 26th when i received a quote from a sales person for a 7.4 cu ft white commercial grade gas dryer. i accepted that and made my payment. two days later i get a call saying that model had been discontinued. in my previous research i had made a comparison of 3 other models to review. when i talked to him he said 3 of the 4 models were discontinued leaving me with 1 only option. i accepted it. well was i upset when i went online, twice, once on june 5th and june 25th still advertising this same model i wanted to get on may 26th. this is either deception to raise the price going forward or ignorance! sad! read more

Delivery and recycling costs are included with the price of new appliances. I delivered an appliance myself and asked for the price of delivery to be removed from the price of the appliance and they denied. I purchased the appliance anyway and delivered the new appliance myself and then asked for the store to pick up the old appliance. They denied saying they'll only drive out to my location if they were delivering an appliance. Very disappointing when I paid the cost associated with delivery and pickup but they use a 1 for 1 policy to deny having to send someone. We purchased a refrigerator from Steve's after shopping around for a few weeks. We made multiple trips to Steve's: once to an overview of their selection, once to purchase and then a second purchase trip once we were told that the Black Friday sales were in a few weeks so we should wait until then for a better price. The free delivery and recycling were great. There was a $50 water hookup fee. Once the delivery happened, there was a mix-up about the water parts, but after talking to Jami, it was resolved, along with a credit to our account for our troubles. Do not use for repair services! Oven temperature was inconsistent and needed to be repaired. When appointment was made, I was told that the tech would do a diagnostic and list any parts that need replacement along with a price of parts. Tech came at the wrong time. (Appointment made for afternoon, showed up in the morning.) Husband happened to be home. No written documentation of parts that should be replaced or prices. Paid $120 to verbally find out I should set my oven up 50 degrees higher than what the recipe calls for, put the thermometer in the middle of the oven, and let oven heat up longer beyond preheat mode. I had to call Steve's to get them to email me info of parts and price. I would have bought a new stove by now. read more

Honestly one of the worst places I have ever experienced for customer service repairs. I had problems with my washer and had it not working for months at a time I had to wait weeks to hear back from the company about what they would do to fix it/the next steps. I ended up getting a new washer and the instalers did not set it up correctly resulting in another period of waiting around for my washer to get fixed. Overall this company's communication and effectiveness in helping their costumers is not fast and efficient and when it comes to appliances you need that so I would suggest going someplace else if you want a company to rely on to help you when you need repairs done fast and not within a week or twos time to even get a phone call back. read more

No follow up ever on a special order stove from salesperson Chris M in early 2025. Coincidentally at the time of purchase, the selected on sale stove I chose was on Steve's website, but not available when I got to the store. This exact same stove was in stock at Home Depot, Lowes, & Warner's Stellian for the same price. I had to chase down several salespeople to find out the status of the special order from the manufacturer but twice I called over 10 days, still no one followed up with me to provide the expected manufacturer's date of shipment. Finally I reached very helpful sales person named Veronica, who was able to get the delivery scheduled. However, on the day of delivery, my window was from 8 AM to 1 PM and as of 1:30 PM, I had not heard from anyone. They did deliver it finally with no issues. I have not received one phone call from anyone in management or sales following up to see how the delivery went. I picked Steve's because it's a small business I thought I could support but customer service was mediocre and disappointing. Avoid purchasing from this business. Was told there was no part available for Whirlpool range which I doubt was true so purchased a "new" range from them and it was delivered quite some time after I put in the order. It is a piece of junk and a tin can that makes snapping sounds all during the heating and cooking process and at the cooling off period makes a loud snap. Repair service told me that is how the new ones are????? Not acceptable. Talked to manager(?) at Steves (rude and insulting). He told me to get a second opinion from Whirlpool which I attempted. Come to find out, Whirlpool made another appointment with Steve's for a second opinion???????? I asked to have this range upgraded (at my expense of course) but I was told no way that they would do that! In short, I am stuck with a piece of junk range that should be put in the junkyard. I bought a washer and dryer with pedestals at Steve's Appliance in June. The people who came to install had no idea what they were doing. They unloaded the appliances and rolled them over on the front lawn. They complained and swore repeatedly (yes the store with the Bible verses on their sign) as they removed my old appliances resulting in significant damage to my concrete floor! Then they carried the new appliances downstairs, and placed them on their backs on the floor to install the pedestals (for hours one guy was cussing and the other one was telling him to stop cussing). After installation there were multiple scratches on the finish and a large dent on the top of the dryer. Then they told me they didn't have an exhaust pipe to fully install the dryer but if I had some duct tape they might be able to use the old one. After doing that, they found the exhaust pipe I had purchased, and hooked it up again with the new one. After they left there was debris all over from the packaging and when I opened the dryer it was full of dirt (probably from my front yard) and packaging screws. I called Steve's and (after first trying to convince me that the scratches were actually plastic wrap) they did send Jordan out that same day. They ordered a new front panel for the washer pedestal and a new top panel for the dryer. They said there was nothing they could do about scratches on the side of the washer, but I would be compensated for that and the damage to my floor. About a month later, they sent Justin out to install the new parts. After some time he came up and said he didn't know how to install them and would be back in a couple of hours. 6.5 hours later, I called asking what was going on. Justin hastily returned and replaced the parts. The pedestal drawer still does not close properly (clearly the whole thing was bent out of square) and the dryer vent pipe fell apart a few days after Justin left. ( I guess he reused the tape ). Justin also mentioned that he spends his days fixing things their installers have broken, and joked that this was "job security". Sorry to call you out Justin, but that's not funny. I have emailed asking for help with the disconnected exhaust pipe (which is inaccessible), the bent pedestal, and to inquire about my "compensation" for the damaged floor and scratch and dent appliances. So far they have ignored my email. All of this happened with a pending sale for an entire kitchen of new appliances! They must not have wanted my business. I wanted to support a small business but Steve's should be avoided at all cost. read more

We found the refrigerator we wanted and it was offered at several different stores. We chose Steve's because they told us they had it at their warehouse and we could have it on one week. The price was exactly the same at Home Depot and Warners Stellian. Again, the only reason we chose Steve's is because we could get it in one week. Once we paid them over the phone and "ordered" it, we waited a few days to hear that we could schedule the delivery. I reached out twice to get a response and finally did. They told me they could get it to me on April 10th. This was slightly over 3 weeks AFTER we ordered. This wasn't acceptable but they didn't seem to care. They had my money and the service tanked. A few days before the 10th, they called to tell me that they won't have it quite yet but it was on the truck. The refrigerator finally showed up on April 14th, 4 weeks after it was ordered and 3 weeks late. No apology, no kind offer of gratitude, no offer to refund delivery cost and then they said they could not relocate my old refrigerator to my basement. Never again will I buy from Steve's appliance. SAVED ME HOURS! Steve's Appliances has helped me keep a number of appliances running over the years. This morning I was struggling to pull a wash plate I thought was stripped off my Maytag. I was convinced that I would need to destroy it to replace it. I went over to pick up my part, and get some tips on how to pull the stuck wash plate. I showed them a video of my issue. They identified my problem as the actuator, not the wash plate. The part was in stock. I got some GREAT advice on how to change it. I followed those instructions. In brief: Shop Elsewhere. In specific: where to begin, the litany of issues/complaints is long. Years ago (2013/14) they were a pleasure to deal with. Since then, they've gone downhill in every regard from sales thru to delivery. Steve's does not follow-up: I requested information on a range 3x over the course of 3 months - when I finally got through, the sales manager was not only rude, but volatile. This was not the only time that Steve's failed to respond. Additionally, their delivery guy intimidated me and refused to place the appliances (washer & dryer) inside my house as promised by salesman (1st story, easy access from driveway) unless I gave him a "big tip." My call to complain and ask for a refund on that extorted tip was met with "We have no control over that." Steve, who used to be available, no longer is. His wife, Darcy, is the most UNprofessional business owner I've ever dealt with. Steve's was unable to service the appliances I bought from them per their promise of service. None of these issues were Covid/supply chain -related; rather, poor internal management. Others in the community cite additional negative experiences. I ordered an upgrade on my dishwasher that was working fine, but was old and not cleaning well anymore. The people they sent out to install seemed a little confused about appliances. They installed, but then 4 months later, the dishwasher completely stopped turning on. They sent one worker out and told me that i needed to replace the main fuse. That was done, and it still continued not to work. Sent another repairman out and he said we needed to contact an electrician, and he knew a good one! Before I bought this, I had no problems. Reading about other people's experiences with Steve's makes me feel like such a fool for shopping there. My experience has echoed several of the other unfortunate customers. One thing is clear: Once you hand them the money for the appliance, their responsibility ENDS. We bought a brand new refrigerator that was delivered. My wife had to listen to the delivery people complain about how we had a bad set up. They said they wouldn't be responsible and made HER attach the water hookup (which is a just fine water hook up that had been working for years). After they left, we waited for the fridge to get cold. It never did. The fridge was defective out of the box. With just about any other business in the entire world this would be a one phone call unquestionable replacement, right? Not at Steve's. This refrigerator (that never worked) is now YOUR problem. YOU are responsible for contacting the manufacturer and setting up a repair. They will not take the refrigerator back. If you question this policy, you will be treated very poorly. I had hoped to support local...I wish I would have gone big box. We had a faulty part, and a huge leak, which damaged our floor and subfloor on Mar 26, 2018. It is now August 20, 2018 and we are still trying resolve this issue. They claim they sent the part to Maytag/Whirlpool. Whirlpool never received it. Magically the 2nd week of June it was received....but when they tested it there was no damage. Yet we still have a warped floor and damaged sub floor and water damage in the lower level. Every Appliance I own is from Steve's. I buy from them because they are a Christian business. BUT service on repair has me crying today. My top load washer needed fixing, won't go into all the run around, but parts finally put in today...not even 5 minutes after repair man left, I put in a load...yay, I can finally do my laundry. NOPE, the machine shut down after terrible noise, doing the EXACT same thing it did before a $350 repair!!! I immediately tried to call him...knowing he could not be far away and that I was his last stop of the day...no answer, I texted, no response. Called the office, "HE will get back to me on Monday." I begged to have him come back....HE will come back MONDAY (today is Friday, wet clothes in tub). I have appointment Monday morning, "I'll make note of that." I texted again...because his voice mailbox is full...no response....does the customer have any say???? NOPE...we are at the mercy of what they feel like....THis money could have been half down on a new machine. I like the idea of supporting a Christian company, but their service sucks. read more

When I was shopping around for my refrigerator I wanted to support a local business instead of the big box store. I went in and met with one of the sales person and was sold on a product based on the warranty and customer service , when I encountered an issue 8 months down the road I realize that this place is like most places and pushed you off to the manufacture instead of their service department.
