I've been a great customer to steves cycle until today. When they tell you after they have diagnosed how much it will cost to repair something they are lying to you it's just to get you in the door. I gave them a bunch of money because that's how much they said it would cost but in reality they charged me $350.00 more than that and the bike still doesn't run. Absolute rip off down there and if you dont believe me try it out for yourself. They will do the absolute minimum for your money, no more!! read more

Great store, I've been coming here for years. I just got my third bike after not having one for a while and took it in today for an oil change (bought the bike yesterday). The bike had a lot of accessories on it from the previous owner, I had removed several poorly installed accessories and Jesse found a few more. Luckily, everything was repaired same day and I was surprised how reasonable the price was for all the labor (rethreading a stripped oil pan) among an oil change and a chain tightening. I recently bought a used Goldwing motorcycle. I went to Honda to get it serviced and they told me they don't service their own motorcycles once they're over 10 years old. Luckily, I found Steve's and they service any motorcycle. I made an appointment with Will In Service and he was fantastic. I got my bike in and put in new LED headlamps added a tailing to the rear did a full oil change and complete service and bike inspection. Wont be taking ANY of my dirt bikes back to this place, better off googling and watching YouTube videos on how to fix ANYTHING but "the mechanics know how to fix 4 stroke like the back of their hands" okay.. where? Cant replace fluids after draining them cuz let me guess "extra charge" im sure. Now the bike that we have had back and forth and only rode less than a handful of times is dropping oil all over my patio. Sure it "fired up" but only for 2 seconds for us to realize the radiator cap was not on, if it had been tried to be tested it would have been blown up. Too much money to be wasted on something that was to be handed down to my CHILD. They didn't do anything to this bike and still expected to be paid. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Things started out okay here at Steve's cycles... They did the diags to see what was wrong with my bike and quoted me around 2k. I decided against it and just do the work on my own. I then come to pick up my bike. After further inspection when I get home I noticed, who ever worked on my bike did not put the WHOLE exhaust system back on. I brought my bike with coolant in and got it back with zero. There were missing bolts and all the hose clamps were loose. At this point, I am extremely frustrated after paying $320 for two diagnostics. This is how I get my bike back. I came to pick up my exhaust and I talked to one of the service guys, Jason I think. I express my frustrations and after going in circles, there was nothing that he could do. The irony of the situation is that right after that conversation I see a customer (woman) super upset and the owner of the shop Jesse and her are going back-and-forth. he was extremely unprofessional. And did not handle the situation well at all ( yelling across the counter at her in front of other customers) I then talk to Jesse after that and he gave me the runaround and said that there was nothing that he could do as well. What a waste of my time. I told him that I did not want to leave the shop until we had a solution. I wasn't asking to get all of my money back, but I just needed to know that they understood how unprofessional and embarrassing their service was for me. He told me that he would give me a call the very next morning first thing in the morning and that I was a priority. Guess who did not call me. I called the shop and I asked to speak to him. The front desk answered and said that they would have him call me back and he never did again. Do not trust the shop. They are not reliable and they do not treat their customers with care. read more

ok, so my name is david and i stopped at steves cycles as i was riding toward the superstitions & taking main street to avoid the 60 and being run down on the highway,(you guys know) . as i was riding it the back brake started to fail , so im passing steve,s cycles, so i flip around and it like 510 whenj i pull in and i asked the guy if he could adjust my suspensioin and just put a bolt and a nut on the brake it had disconnected, then i remembered its friday night at 520 now, he asked me if i could leave it and it would be ready sat morning, although that was an awesome offer, i couldnt cuz i live in scottsdale and had 25 miles to be able to get my car or truck and i really did not want to pay lyft 50 bucks. so as i was walking out the owner jesse waived me back and said mechanic left i will do it, well immediately i liked him,of course he was doing something for me, my motto is i know im not a lot, but i"m all i think about. it had to be 630 or so before he finished and i was so very impressed that the owner is wrenching on my bike an houir passed closing. as i said super impressed its friday night an d hour past close and truly thought that the bill was more than fair and if it was hundred more i would have smiled and happy to pay him. so i think i got the point across i thought it was a beautiful thing so in turn my wife was about to have a baby and jesse was so cool that i decided right there that we would name the baby jesse, my wife said but honey you know where having a girl, i said in a real neanderthol tone, i'm like babe i don 't give a s**t, if its a boy it's jesse, if its a girl its jesse,i'm like i don't flippin care i said_ babe your lucky his name wasn't mark cuz i am not kidding your daughter would be mark jesse, i will say all kidding aside cuz only the part of my story that was untrue was having lied about the baby was the only bold face lie i told , everything else i promise is accurate and true. As he finished up the bike, man i think we discussed a a million different topics and was surprised that we had a lot of problems in common. so to make a long review even longer the bottom line is have been self employed my whole life and business owners we can be a little slow sometimes because we got into business cuz we figured that after i get things clicking i"ll be gone all the time. Soon you realize the madness will never end, if the point comes that you want to buy a cycle or need to get your bike fixed do you want to buy it from a dude who hates you thinks ur a pain in the ass or do you want to buy a bike from a real dude. i met him one time ifeel like i knew him for a while, he just kept going on about this and that but a better way of saying it would be through his bluntness and just his manner i know that this dude has good things inside, if i go to a restaurant and it wasnt a good experience i bitch, so i make sure when i go somewhere and i walk out and it was great, i bitch positively. who knows maybe he didnt uised to be this way andthen all the hits to your head from riding in the pro tour could probably turn the worst of us into a sensitive sap suckers , the reality is i was impressed i give these dudes 5 stars cuz iknow for a fact if i was anywhere else and asked them can you fix my bike at 520 on friday afternoon theywould either laughed like hell or shot at me. sorry for the long winded review,ride to live,live to ride. david.b read more

Don't fall prey to this company(even though referred by another bike shop or even by all the reviews on their site) to fix your bike the right way. I fell blinded for the initial meeting with the service manager thinking all was good the first time meeting him. After that it was all down hill, from not getting any calls back from him but once the entire time my bike was there over a month to not getting my bike fixed right after initially reporting a small oil leak and bike power cutting out only when riding down the road.... to all the oil leaking out(large puddle of oil on the ground once home) after having to get the bike towed after the bike still cutting out even shortly leaving the shop. And the store manager was not any better in making things right, even after being told I rushed them to fix the bike after more than a month, to not getting reimbursed anything that I paid to them. Steves, there is No need for a rebuttal since your going to make something up, just to make it look like your the good guys just like all the other reviews. I was elbow deep in changing a cracked side cover on my crf450x and didn't plan on mangling the little seal in there. I checked GoAz, I checked Western Honda. I checked the internet! It was going to be Five days no matter. A little voice called Google led me to check Steve's Cycle. Fred says they have the seal, and ensured it by pulling the part before I drove from Fountain Hills. I brought my wife. We drove down to Mesa and found Vintage Valhalla! I nearly wept. Fred sold me the seal and some real Yamalube 2C for my old YZ. I bought my wife a cool Fox hat. I was back on for the weekend ride! And I found a Real motorcycle shop worth being loyal to. So i have been taking my bike to them for a while now and have never had any problems. This group of people go above and beyond for their customers. Each employee is genuinely kind and there to help. They can be slow sometimes but i'm going to say that's due to size of shop compared to number of customers. There is a reason they stay busy. We took in our utv for a fix and they said it was the battery. Well we had put in a new one the week before so that definitely wasn't it. Then they said it was a faulty line or something and that it was working. We came and payed then picked it up and it did run good..... all of 10 feet. Total hosed down they had my bike over a month just to take a look at it because I had just purchased the dirt bike close to 1000 dollars later there it WAS new battery a few screws and clean single Carburetor no shit i would NEVER TELL ANY ONE TO TAKE THERE BIKE THERE. I can't say enough good things about them. I originally was looking for a used Honda Shadow Phantom and they happened to have one in. I met Jesse who was very informative and helped me out. The bike was priced well and the buying process was easy as pie. Shortly after I wanted to upgrade the pipes to Vance and Hines. Jesee and Frank both helped me get the last set around and installed them quickly for me. I'm now happily riding and enjoying my motorcycle, no issues what so ever. 2/21/23 If I didn't have to give a star to write this review, they wouldn't have one. I took my motorcycle to these guys in July 2022 for basic maintenance and I received my bike back with no backrest and torn saddlebags! Wtf. The kicker is, it took them until Feb 2023 (this past wknd) to "make it right". Make it right, yeah ok. Is that what you call this? The replaced backrest was equivalent to a bicycle pad for a Barbie doll bike and at every turn he ignored the fact that they KNOW damn well they tore my brand new saddlebags. And yet when I brought it up, his face was blank and he just wanted to focus on the backrest. All this to say, if you care about your bike and you want someone who repairs it to care too, don't take your bikes or toys to Steve's Cycles, unless you just like wasting your time and money. I now have to buy new saddlebags when all I asked was for them to tighten them to the frame, which they used zip ties, so why does my bag have holes in it?. And I'm sure I paid them for that. SMH Beyond frustrated and reminded that folks can be crappy, untrustworthy liars, they are now in the dishonesty bin and well deserved! They lack integrity and I had to chase to get the half assed "make it right" to even be a thought in their minds. I won't single him out, but if he reads this, he'll know it's him. If I could rate this place negative 10 stars I would! Steve's cycle on Main Street in Mesa. Brought my bike here to get estimate on repair and bought a set of straps for tying down my bike in my pick up. After driving only 5 miles with them the bike was wobbling back-and-forth and the straps were loose. I told him this and he called me a liar because he said he uses them all the time. He accused me of being "like a woman who can't afford a dress for a special occasion so she buys it and returns it after the event". As I explained to him that I am an honest person and would not have known the straps were poor quality until I tried them, he continued to argue with me and then told me to get my bike out of his shop, he didn't want to do work on it. I got on my bike and started it up and said I was happy to take it if he would kindly move his other bikes that were blocking my way out. He then hit my kill button and tried to rip my keys out of my hand. When I gripped them tighter he fought for them, but I won. That was assault of a woman, and this man needs some serious help! I called 911 and he told cops that I had assaulted HIM! I am female, 5'6", over 40, and weigh 135#! He also lied and said I threatened to knock down his bikes! I had been warned by a friend that he was sketchy, but unfortunately not until I had already brought the bike there. This guy is rude, uncompromising, and willing to physically assault a female and then lie to police. I will tell everyone I know about this incident and hope it deters others from getting scammed (or worse) from him in the future. read more

This is a diamond in the rough!!! We took our Honda dirt bike there to have looked at. They are super honest and fair!!! They had the bike for two weeks, but told us that up front!!! Picked it up today to be pleasantly surprised that we only owed $54!!!! While they charge $100/hr, which is the going rate, they told us what was wrong and what we needed to keep an eye on. Steve's Cycle is going downhill real fast.It use to be a great family owned shop until it was sold last year. Long term employees are being let go with no explanation whatsoever. I was shocked to recently learn that Fred, the knowledgeable, honest, hard working, parts manager was recently let go. No warning whatsoever and for no reason. They totally out of the blue fired him. Then an employee fired two weeks prior was brought back in to work.I guess they could pay that employee far less. Inventory is also lacking. It is apparent that the new owners only care about purchasing inventory to sell in the business next store, Strictly UTV, and keeping their own family and workers employed. The ma and pa shop Steve's Cycle is gone . It is really sad to watch Steve's go down hill like this. What once was a Mesa icon in the motorcycle industry will soon be no more. read more

What a joke of a shop, thought I'd take the opportunity to save myself the time of troubleshooting my problem and take my 1975 Honda XL350 here to get a potential fuel issue looked at. Yes my bike is old and it's not too pretty but I figured this would be a easy fix. Go in to talk to the service manager and he doesn't even have the decency to look at me while I'm talking to him but he agrees to let me bring it in to look at it. Later in the day I pull in with the bike on the back of my Jeep and pull it off the rack, he doesn't even bother to hear it run and instead of giving actual advice says all my problems are because I don't have the factory air box (swapped it for a dirtbike air filter) and I don't have a muffler (aftermarket straight pipe, been on the bike since the 80s). He then tells me that he won't touch the bike for under 500 bucks and that even if he did a full carb rebuild and went through the fuel system it would never run right again. As someone who almost always works on their own vehicles this was a complete insult to my knowledge. A few weeks later I rebuilt the carb and replaced the petcock, completely fixed my bike and got it running perfectly for 30 dollars and about an hour of personal labor. The guys in the parts department are the worst. Rude, unhelpful and don't know what they are talking about. They will sell you the wrong part and NOT make it right. I was sold the wrong part and they wouldn't take it back or exchange it even though it was their mistake. The prices here are even higher here than the dealers. Avoid at all cost! read more
