I've had some great pizza in my life and I've had many average slices but very rarely do you get a pizza that is so bad that you can't even eat it. Well, DownCity Pizza was terrible. I ended up throwing it in the trash. As you can see from my photos, the pizza and cheesy bread are both dry and burnt and not burnt in a fun coal fire or wood fired way... it's brick oven burnt. Also, not much cheese on the CHEESY bread or four CHEESE pizza. The chicken parm sandwich was the only redeemable part of my order and even that was below average. Lacking sauce and flavor. Even the staff seemed unenthusiastic and it showed in their product. There's seating inside but good luck finding parking in down city Providence. What a waste of fifty dollars. read more

I just wish we liked the pizza more. One of our three ingredients was barely evident on the pizza, there were only a few mushrooms, and they were barely cooked. Ordered a pizza for delivery for 6 pm. The pizza was over 15 mins late and the toppings were sparse. The pizza tasted good but I didn't eat the crust it was too tough to eat. I paid approximately $35 for one pizza counting delivery fee and tip. I won't do that again. I might go for an in person dining experience and see if that's better. Went here a few times as I was staying across the street at the Hampton Inn. I had the Chipotle and Sriracha Chicken sandwich (good combination along with bacon), the Philly Cheesesteak (which was pretty good) and a Gyro (very fresh veggies). Most disappointing experience we've had on our East Coast trip. Was looking forward to trying it after we read some reviews but not sure how they've gotten this many stars. We started with cheese bread and calamari, the bread was sadly the best avg thing we ate, we could tell the calamari was premade and frozen, fried in a fryer, then put on a plate with thick marinara sauce. We ordered 2 chicken fettuccini Alfredo's and 1 chicken pesto. The "homemade" Alfredo sauce had a slightly off flavor and the chicken, again, was I'm sure made earlier in the day, reheated and put on the plate. Chicken was super dry and to top it off, burned! Same with the chicken with the pesto, the sauce on that plate was warm in some spots and cold in others. We made the best of it and even when we left, no thank you or acknowledgement even though we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. If you read this, please be aware, maybe the pizza makes up for it, but we definitely won't come back to try! read more
