    Seared Ahi Tuna w/ broccolini

The food and ambiance here was great. We had a large party that required a $250 deposit that was applied to dinner, but everyone here was super nice and the service was on par. We were seated near the bay windows which provided a nice breeze and a view of the harbor which set a nice tone. Our server was amazing! Great personality and very accommodating. I ordered the Wagu Burger and Seared Ahi, which were perfect.

Superb dining, great friendly customer service and great delicious food. We had a party of 30+ in our party. The owner and his wife were very accommodating and had a lot of patience with our large group. The seafood plates tasted so fresh and delicious. The scallops were my favorite therefore we had second servings. If you visit Catalina Island, this is a place to dine!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! we visited steve's on our last night on the island to celebrate new year's eve. we were quickly found a table and the service stayed quick the whole time. our server was funny, relatable, attentive, and fast! speaking of fast, a couple of the employees will run through the restaurant to grab the food and deliver it to customers. it was funny to watch! everyone works together to get the food out and awnser questions of their customers! Food was delicious! and well worth the price! i am interested in trying the steak next time because a lot of people were having it and it looked delicious

Every time I've been here the place never disappoints. Steve and Bryce know steaks and have always had amazing service there! Tonight they had a gent playing quit dinner tunes that hit the eardrums like a small punch to the happy glands. Love this place.

A 3.9 rating for this restaurant is a travesty! Went here and was blown away by how great it was! Cheesy Garlic bread was great, steak was shockingly good, broccolini was good, baked potato was ok, and rice pilaf was excellent! Desert was the one weak point, but you can't win em all Steak was cooked sublimely, seasoned well, and had great texture. Really can't stress how great it was! Better than Mastros and almost as good as Steak 48 Location was beyond excellent! Sat right on the beach!

My boyfriend and I came to Catalina Island to celebrate my birthday. Our hotel was next door, and we happened to walk by the restaurant and decided to have dinner there. The food is delicious here. I enjoyed the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, and the rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly. Our server, Adam, was amazing. He keeps the vibe upbeat and makes the food much more enjoyable. He gets an A++, we absolutely loved him. We were placed at the window, and the views were stunning. We could feel the breeze, which was refreshing to feel while eating dinner (and cool down my Asian Glow lol). They DO NOT hold back on the liquor in the lemon drop, just a warning haha. I appreciate that they don't hold back on the liquor, but it definitely came as a surprise.

Did not need a reservation for a party of 12 on a Friday evening, so that was a Plus Plus for us Great customer service from the time you walk in, get seated, taking your order & while waiting for the yummy dishes to come out. Our waiter was very helpful, friendly & kept us entertained w/his "jokes" Ambience feels elegant, but you don't have to be dressy dressy to be in there, we were seated upstairs & it was nice & cute all around the whole restaurant. Food was worth for what you pay for, everything we got was very flavorful & all the dishes had their own flavors & did not taste the same.

Visiting Catalina for a three day weekend and of all three dinners that we had while on the island this was our favorite. It's right across from Avalon Bay so you can dine staring at the water, which is a lovely option. If possible try to sit at one of the tables by the windows which have the best views. It's located up on the second floor so you have good views of the entire bay. Inside is quite large and they have many different seating options available for many different size parties. Our server Juan was very polite and everything that we ordered arrived very fast. For our dinner, we ordered the Artichokes and the Wedge Salad to start, which were both nice and a good sized portion. I wish the Wedge would have bacon with it as that is the standard version but still this one was very tasty and a good start to the meal. For our dinner, we chose the Shrimp & Chips which was very good and had very large, plump shrimp. For myself, I chose the special of the day, which was the Barramundi cooked in a lemon caper sauce and honestly really loved it. It had some great flavors and it was very tender and cooked perfectly. I got a baked potato on the side, which was quite small, but still had nice flavors. Overall, we had a great dining experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the island and I would certainly dine here again next time I visit Catalina.

Almost landed on another perch but thanks to my Hawk-eye hubby we noted Steve's (Steve is awesome by the way) is upstairs. So glad we found the stairway. I give this place six out of five stars based on all criteria, ambience, a nice cool Catalina breeze, the staff...Steve the owner even came over and checked on us our server Tania was exceptionally attentive, and all the food was just so well prepared. See my photos. Delicious chilled oysters, zucchini sticks done Parisian- style (not Dennys) and the clam chowder is homemade and one of the best I've had. What really tops them off and puts the cherry on top is that their house wine was very good. I don't know what it is, but I got the Merlot. My husband ordered Prisioner red wine by the glass it was very affordable. Views Breeze People Food Ambiance

70th birthday dinner, and it was excellent. Everything cooked to perfection. Johnny our server was both extremely knowledgeable and friendly with impeccable timing on our needs. Upon leaving met Steve and personally thanked him for a great meal and atmosphere. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter was okay. Food was great. We had the steak, shrimp and blackened fish salad. All were delicious. Our table was by the window and had a great view outside. I highly recommend this place.

Came here last December to celebrate my parents' anniversary. We couldn't make any reservations due to the restaurant policy so we made sure to arrive exactly when they had opened to get seats. I was hoping to get a seat by the beach as I saw you can do that on their website, but I later found out that is only an option in the summertime. We sat down relatively quickly and the waiter was kind in explaining their most popular items. Here's what we ordered: 1) Boston Clam Chowder 2) Pasta of the Day 3) NY Steak 4) Filet Mignon 5) Halibut Unfortunately all the food items we ordered were WAY too salty. Things tasted over seasoned as if fear of not enough seasoning, especially the steak and mignon. It was hard trying to finish all our food and our mouths were quite dry at the end of it. The halibut on the other hand was way too sour due to the lemon sauce. For the price paid, I don't think this meal was worth it.

We've dined here at least 3 times and again as recent as 2 days ago. Excellent cocktails and great food selections. We sat by the window so we can have dinner with a nice view of beach. My husband had the calamari steak which was so tender and delicious. I had the rib eye steak which was really very flavorful. Our server, Johnny was the best. He even took our picture since we were celebrating our anniversary. He also presented us with a ice cream sundae dessert with a candle for our anniversary.

    The steak-iest steak salad ever!

Her service was spot on. The Cons The side salad was nothing special and I thought a bit over priced at $10. Now on to the lobster "roll." We fully expected to pay more due to the fact that this a touristy place and is on an island. For $34, what we got was a whole lot of disappointment. First of all, the portion you get is nothing close to what a usual lobster roll should look like. The Taragon sauce they sauce they put on it overpowers the lobster. The worst part is the quality of the lobster meat they use. When asked where the lobster comes from, I was promptly told Maine. We live on the east coast and are from the northeast. When I pressed the waitress, she admitted they use knuckle meat not the tail or whole claw. Still not buying it. In both my husband's and my roll there were langostino tails mixed in. When I flat out asked our server, she nodded. That is a huge misrepresentation of the food they're serving and certainly no one would pay $34 for that substitution.

Drinks: My husband ordered a margarita and instantly pulled an ant off the rim of the glass. Okay... it happens. He tried to let it go. Then he noticed a dark winged critter sitting at the bottom of his drink... it was a fly. I told him to bring it to the server's attention. When he did, the server looked confused, like he didn't see anything. Then he said, "I can make you a new one or you can just finish drinking this..." Finish drinking a margarita with a fly in it. That should have told us everything. Food: I ordered the carne asada plate. Seasoning was fine... honestly passable... but the cut of meat was the cheapest, chewiest carne asada I've ever been served. My husband ordered the tri tip plate. It was just bad: * Bland meat * Raw broccoli * Bland mash * Thick, chewy slices of bland "tri tip" To be fair: Our server checked on us when he could. He seemed genuinely trying... but it looked like he was playing chef, bartender, and server all at once. Total recipe for disaster. No one can pull that off. I ate what I could because trying to navigate the island late at night for food isn't ideal... but this meal was a letdown from start to finish. Bottom line: Steer clear. You get a hat or sticker with it, and we weren't asked which one we preferred. The strength is similar to a long island, due to the mix of rum and brandy. Decent blend that had a pretty light to deep orange gradient, and an extra pineapple slice. We had fun with the straw hat, so it's fine that fate declared we receive this souvenir. - Buffalo Milk I preferred this drink over the Wiki Wacker, but I can see some people not being into it. It tastes like a creamy nothing. I liked it because the flavor was very, very subtle; it was like an icy, subtly creamy, subtly banana, subtly bitter smoothie topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. Nothing about it has buffalo in it. I would get this again. To sum it up, theming is nice and drinks are aesthetic, yummy, and effective. I love the wide open windows for the natural light and breeze drifting in, and if you're seated near the front, you can people watch.
