And worst of all I was inspecting the bed before getting into it, and saw dirt, hair and bed bug poop all over the sheets. Called the office and the guy came checked it out and assured me the sheets were clean. I asked for a new set of linens. He brought them, but not an apology or anything. Customer service is not their priority nor is cleanliness. You can tell they don't change sheets or hardly clean the place. Overall, I'd say skip this lodge and read the reviews. Waste of money. I chose this hotel because we brought our dog. We arrived early, and there weren't many cars in the parking lots. The room was bigger than I expected. The TV was a good size with tons of channels to choose from. There's an AC/fan built in, but the AC noise is loud every time it kicks on and shuts off. The microwave and mini fridge both have bright screens that are annoying when sleeping at night, so I wish those were in a different location. The room came with 2 sinks, which is a plus - one outside the bathroom, and 1 inside. The bathroom door wouldn't stay fully open because it's so light, but at night, it helped with blocking the sunlight from the bathroom window. The showerhead came with multiple settings, but it felt kind of low, but worked for me because I'm shorter. I had trouble flushing the toilet because they were half buttons, but I probably needed to hold down longer on them. There was plenty of towels as well. The main issue was I could hear every time someone closed their doors. It sounded like people were slamming their doors constantly. Otherwise, I didn't hear any other noises, which is a surprise. Usually I can hear plumbing, water running, stomping, etc. from other rooms. Maybe no one was staying above us, though, but there was someone next door. The bed wasn't that great because I could feel every time my husband moved, but at least it was a real king sized bed. The pillows worked for me because I prefer lower ones. I felt like the fleece blanket and other blanket on top (looked like a tablecloth) weren't necessary. I prefer white comforters, even if they're the thin kinds. There was a spider in our bed at one point, but we didn't see any bugs. I forgot to take a picture, but the continental breakfast had cereal, hard boiled eggs, sausages, biscuits, bread, bagels, little muffins, make your own waffles, apples, and bananas. There's also an orange juice and lemonade machine. One of the hardboiled eggs I had wasn't fully cooked, but the others were fine. read more

Lots of reviews so I will get to the point - there arent a ton of places to stay in Cle Elum so choices are not expansive. This was a half way for my adult daughter and to meet and spend some time together We wanted to explore nearby Roslyn and then sit by the pool and relax and chat. I chose this lodging because of the outdoor pool. Cons - The pool is unheated and sits 40 feet from the roadway with a chain link fence around it. It is noisy and you are relaxing staring at traffic and a safeway. It would be easy to throw up a privacy fence and make it a cute area. There was absolutely NO shade or umbrellas so you are literally cooking under the hot sun with no escape but a freezing pool. At night when things cooled off, we went out and were immediately bitten by 100's of mosquitos. Had we known the condition of the pool we would have paid less to stay at the new hotel across the street (it was 50 cheaper a night). The room has been renovated but the floors squeaked when we walked on them -loud and annoying. The shower had mold in it. Beds were not super comfortable. One very small cheap container of shampoo with no conditioner. Pros across the street from a grocery store, coffee shops and a quick drive to the super cute town of Roslyn and 50 minutes to picturesque Cooper Lake. Easy to make reservations and they honored the online price. Allowed early check in without any hassle. Easy parking. All told - this place is not worth 196 a night. I would stay here again for 100-129 ish. read more

We called them while traveling on labor day weekend. We're told the only available room was the cottage for $249. When we arrive there is another guest without a reservation checking in, I heard the whole conversation. So they lied about the availability then turned around and charged me 300 bucks for the room. My mother was sick and on the verge of throwing up so I just paid for it and took the room. Next morning when checking out the guy, and I hate to say this, I barely spoke English and just brushed me off. Horrible service to their guests. read more

Stayed overnight in April 2017 and returned July 18 and 19th of 2017. Couldn't have asked for better service from the front desk to room housekeeping. Excellent and outstanding! We just spent the weekend at the Stewart Lodge. The owner/ manager was plowing snow with his tractor throughout the parking lot. He hit our car and did not report it to us. When we got home and the snow melted off our vehicle, we noticed the dent, a broken tail light and EVEN orange paint, the same color as his tractor!!! Hotel was fine. Unfortunately, Cle Elum police operate a speed trap right outside the hotel that I was caught in. Whole town was depressing. Very few restaurants. Main thoroughfare is run down. If you like Safeway and Burger King, you will do fine (although I also waited for 20 minutes in line at Burger King, apparently because one of the employees quit while taking the order of someone in front of me, without telling any other employees.) You know for the price this is a pretty decent, clean motel. The rooms look like they've been redone in the past 5-7 years. The decor is nice and the staff were great. Location is adjacent to highway so its easy to get in and out from Cle Elum. Restaurants (minus Taco Bell and Burger King) are not within a short jaunt, so some driving might be needed. I would choose this place over the Timber Inn (both dog friendly) even though Timber is within walking distance of downtown. read more

Had a hotel neighbor tell me to fuck off last night after asking him to keep it down at 1am. Called the front desk to complain but they didn't do anything. The hotel room door had so much play when latched that when the wind gusts hit it sounded like someone was trying to kick in the door. The room alarm clock went off at 3am. The hotel charged me twice as much as usual without even discussing the room rate change (I've been a returning customer for 7 years). When I complained he just said sorry. Very poor service overall. We were driving through the night & needed to pull off for rest. The employee mumbled over the phone but said he had vacancy. We told him we would be there in 5 minutes, which we were & the building was locked. Apparently it always is. We rang the bell 4 times for service & called. Sent us to a machine. Stood in the rain in the middle of the night all to be turned away. AVOID! We ended up at Timberlodge Inn & were overwhelmed at how friendly the staff was to accommodate us. Stewart lodge is one of the only decent hotels in cle elum. They have a hot tub and pool. (Hot tub wasn't working when we went though) friendly front staff, and the rooms are very roomy, bathrooms are huge and there flat screen TV was a plus as well. We will definitely be back. Alittle on the pricy side $119 with taxes in the summer time but worth it. read more

I do not see how the average review is so high! The website pictures of the motel make it look much better than it is. I wasn't expecting a fancy hotel but I was expecting much better than it was for $152. I pulled back the bedding to find dirt, animal hair and a cat toenail on the sheet. I went to the office and was told "Oh, very sorry" as I was handed a sheet set so that I could go change the bedding myself. (No offer to do it for me or to switch rooms). The toilet paper holders were broken. The towels were scarce and instead of the 3 deadbolts on the door making me feel safer, it made me wonder if I should be staying there at all. I was really looking forward to using the hot tub, and it was broken. The continental breakfast did have waffles but overall was the worst breakfast I have seen at similar type motels. read more

We mentioned our displeasure at a business we visited on our way out of town and they said it has a terrible reputation, and that there was a 'suicide by cop' there sometime last year. We have stayed here before with no complaints. We stayed here this past weekend and it was snowing. On Saturday the owner was clearing the snow with his Kubota tractor, which looked brand new. We had traveled to Ellensburg and when we returned he was clearing the lot. We had used the rear "door" numerous times in Ellensburg as our son attends CWU and noticed no damage. When we returned on Saturday we parked and noticed the clearing of the snow. I did not notice the damage until Monday morning as Sunday was dumping snow and the damage was covered. I contacted the owner who agrees that he was clearing snow that day but refuses to take responsibility for what he did. I firmly believe he knows that he hit our vehicle and does not want to assume liability. My question to all...when was the last time you saw a blaze orange vehicle on the road? All Kubota tractors are blaze orange which is the color left on my vehicle in the damaged area. This owner is very dishonest and should be avoided at all cost. read more

The wireless did not work because the router needed to be reset (unplug, plug back in), when I said this to the person at the desk, I was told that only management could do this. I saw at least two different people leave because it wasn't working. The next day, it still wasn't working. Management needs to train employees to deal with internet issues. The breakfast was very basic with no meat or eggs but did include a waffle maker. There was an advertisement for a romantic weekend here...there is NO WAY this could ever be considered a romantic place to stay. It is a clean basic hotel with large rooms. I stayed here to attend my sister and her husband's 50th wedding anniversary party. I paid extra for a "renovated" room. The carpet was filthy. I called the desk and asked that they clean the carpet. The result was a spot cleaning of the worst areas. Outside of my room was a garbage can overflowing with trash including dirty diapers. It remained there during my 3 night stay. On Saturday I noticed many bug bites on my arm that were raised and inflamed. Yes, that's right, BED BUGS. I complained to the management and was met with indifference and no apology. We stopped here tonight on a road trip, it's memorial day weekend. We weren't sure where we would stop for the night, so we didn't make any reservations. We stopped at a couple places and called around, everything else was booked. We were waiting to get approval for an Airbnb (at 9pm) and ended up calling Stewart Lodge, they had a King room available so we decided to give it a go. Better than nothing, right? We were super nervous that it was going to be disgusting. Well, we were pleasantly surprised! This place must have done some recent remodeling. The room smells nice and is quite clean. It has wood floors, not carpet. No sign of bugs (We have gotten really good at checking.) It has a refrigerator, microwave and a coffee pot. We did have to carry everything up the stairs, I don't think there is an elevator. Overall we are happy with the room. So if you want a king bed, ask for room 211, we like it! read more

When my husband went in to check in they said" Hi,Brian? are you ready to check in" Even though we were the only people checking in then it was nice that they called him by name. We needed an inexpensive clean place to stay on our way through to Idaho and it was exactly that. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't any mold in the shower anywhere. I have stayed at 5 star resorts that had mold in the shower/tub. The employees were very friendly but they need to be able to reset the wireless router. We were unable to use the Internet the whole night. Breakfast was all carbs/sugar so we did not eat. They did not have any meat. The refrigerator made a clicking noise all night so that was a little annoying. the room was renovated,but they still Had yucky linoleum in the bathroom. This stay was a one night thing. Myself,my friend, and our two children went over to Cle Elum for the night to get away and let the kids swim. This and one other Hotel are the only ones in the town with pools. I have never stayed here before and we gave it a try.....Biggest mistake ever!!! I was told Paul was the owner. The man at the front desk wouldn't give me his last name. He was also the rudest most unreasonable man I have ever met in my LIFE!! The room we stayed in was filthy. The toilet had fecal matter in it, The bathtub was dirty, and it didn't drain when you took a shower, the bathroom floor was dirty as well as the carpet in the room. The hairdryer on the wall had hair hanging all over the outside of it as well as hair all over the countertop next to the coffee pot and the cups. All of the furniture was filthy dirty!! The outdoor hot tub was broken, Which we didn't realize until after we had already checked in. So, down to the front desk we went and the man there said that it was our fault that we didn't call and make sure of all of this stuff worked before we came. That this was OUR responsibility! Excuse me?? The reason I went to stay in a hotel was so that I could enjoy myself and I didn't have to worry about it. He kept telling me that I had a problem with him. Well, at this point it was a no brainer!! Also, I went down to the pool to take my daughter swimming around 8:30pm. I went into the lobby to ask if he would turn on the pool lights and he said the pool was closed. The hard plastic printed sign on the pool gate clearly said, "POOL HOURS 10:00 AM TO 10:00 PM!" He proceeded to tell me that someone changed the sign and that I took the big pool cover off the pool myself! OMG!!! Are you kidding me? It only got better from there..... NOT! The next morning since the bathtub was not draining, what do you think the toilet did??? So we went down and asked the man outside working if he could come and plunge it? He couldn't figure it out?? (There was a language barrier big time!) So, the rude man from the front desk came into our room and they couldn't fix it nor, did they tell us that. I walk into the bathroom and slip on the floor. He also saw the kids getting ready to go swimming for a little bit before check out and so he walked down to the pool and locked the gate so they couldn't go swimming. He said it was "BROKE" and it was a bunch of B.S.!! We were the last ones in there and were going to be the first ones back in. There was nothing wrong. Rightfully so, the kiddos were really upset! My 10 year old daughter also went down to ask the man a question in the morning and his response to her was, "What do you want now?" I was appalled! This man clearly has no idea what he's doing and should not be in the hospitality industry! He could have made that experience a whole lot better by saying he was sorry. That word never came out of his mouth once!! I will NEVER stay here again and I hope to spread the word so no one else does either! I have been going over to Cle Elum with my family since I was a little girl. That town does not operate like this! People are kind! People care!
