Incredible......Every minute of our 2 day stay was absolutely incredible. To be fair, we are normal everday middle class people, so it doesn't take much to exceed expectations. We arrived & the valet guy was incredibly helpful with the check-in process & transporting our bags to the room. The property is beautiful and our room with hot tub was impressive. The Source bar within the hotel has great drinks & food, but the service staff was the best I've ever had anywhere. The bartender, she made the drinks strong enough that it felt worth the cost (which I was greatful for) and made them sweeter when I needed them to be. The waiter Mason........ literally the best waiter I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Just attentive enough to feel taken care of, but not so much to be annoying, he was also training a new employee and was doing a fantastic job from what i was seeing. Explaining the job to such a degree of understanding that I only wish every restaurant had a "Mason" to train new employees. I want to give 3 Gold stars to the chef for the perfectly cooked lobster and shrimp mac. Im no pro, but I know how hard it is to cook lobster & shrimp to perfection thanks to the Food Network and the perfectly Al Dente bucatini with marsala mushrooms were sauted to ultimate tastiness. It's been a long time since we've had a meal that well cooked & it was delicious. Day 2, My husband & I had couples massage & facial at The Glade. Emily & Hailey were absolutely amazing massage therapist, they both listened to our needs in detail & they were executed to absolute perfection. Not once, did I need to tell her softer or harder and I have a severely broken foot i had surgery on 6wks ago. Every move she made, was made with my absolute comfort & relaxation in mind. Conversion was easy & relaxed, it felt like we've known them both for years. I would suggest that management consider Hailey's ideas in adding soundbath therapies. That would have made an incredible experience that much better. After our massage, I had a facial with Abby. She as well, listened to my needs and gave me the most spectacular & soothing facial with an equally easy & relaxed conversation. It felt wonderful to be taken care of to such a degree. The oxygenating fizzofoliant was so wonderfully bizarre that I purchased a bottle for myself. We had dinner reservations made a few minutes down the road so we were given shuttle service by Doyle, a hilariously quirky lovely older gentleman that played the best music for our 5 minute trip and Ben who jumped in to pick us up after dinner when Doyle was busy shutting other guests. The food at The Stovehouse was incredibly delicious, the tortilla chips were freshly made & perfectly crisp, the salsa had just the right amount chunk to sauce to heat & the guacamole was so good it had to be handmade. Clearly by someone who has a 100 year old family guacamole recipe running through their veins. The tuna was perfectly seared and the greens fresh & crisp, but again, our server Brennan was just as fantastic as we had at The source. He was perfectly attentive without feeling overwhelming & was incredibly helpful with a few silly requests that I had. All the staff seemed genuinely happy and content to work there, not a single word or action felt forced or even only nice because they were being paid to as part of the job. I really hope they're paid well, because Suncadia hit the jackpot with all of them. The only complaints we could nit pick about was that with my broken foot I wasn't able to take the 1,000 steps down to the river, the coffee shop doesn't open until 7am & The Glade could use a cold plunge pool for the people who like to use the mineral pools & sauna for long periods of time. Such a beautiful place even if u dont golf. They have amazing golf courses but the pool spa and restaurant are so nice. Hotel is so beautiful and they have so much to do and are still growing adding a grocery store and much more. I love it there. Will be back as much as we can!!! read more

Love Suncadia. Resort is fun and the homes we have rented have all been amazing. The most recent one was the best so far. Love the lodge, pools, restaurant, and winery. Haven't played golf there yet but would love to and heard good things. Definitely on the expensive side if looking at pricing. read more

Our stay at Suncadia the past two days was nothing short of disappointing. We had booked a stay here based on a family member's recommendation after she had a phenomenal experience last year. From check in to (early) check out it progressively got worse. We were coming for our babymoon and had requested as quiet a room as possible at the Inn (a more secluded stay to begin with). The room itself was mid-tier as knobs were broken on the side table, the patio only had one chair (despite other rooms having two chairs) and was covered in pine needles, there wasn't a way to stir the coffee made in the room (no spoons feels odd considering they have cream and sugar), and the shower struggled to get any hot water despite our best efforts. Starting on our second day, we found ourselves in a room next to a family where we could hear their young baby/toddler screaming and crying most hours they were in their room. Not a relaxing way to spend some private time together before we become a family of three. In terms of the restaurants, there were the two main restaurants and the service was lackluster throughout our stay. Almost no one checked in on us, food items were out at Stovehouse on our second day (which as a gluten free individual, became incredibly restrictive), and at one point my husband had to flag down a different waiter just so we could get our check and leave. The food itself was mediocre at best. It felt like most of the staff were new at their job as we had to constantly point out false charges (the guy at Rope Rider Golf Course tried to charge my husband for a round of golf despite it being included in our stay package) or failed to let us know about any hotel amenities (we missed s'mores hour the first night because no one told us where it was or how to be a part of it and no one let us know how to access the wifi). What was the nail in the coffin was our third day. We had booked the Putt and Pamper Package specifically to discount down one of my spa treatments as I am almost in my third trimester and wanted a day of relaxation and discounting down one of two treatments would be helpful financially. When I called to book my treatments (50-minute massage and 80-minute body treatment), my personal concierge was struggling to get the treatments booked on her end as she wasn't perfectly connected to the spa system, but let me know she'd get the two treatments booked and would call me if there were any issues. I never received a call so I assumed everything was taken care of. When I went in to check in for my spa treatments, the spa told me I was not even on the schedule and they could only accommodate both treatments if they were hours apart from each other. I ended up ditching the body treatment and kept the 50 minute massage (which would have absolutely been a longer massage had I not booked the room package I did). No concessions were offered which was surprising to me as someone who works in a customer service type role myself and is often in a position to offer those sorts of things when mistakes like this occur and I got to my massage later in the day trying to keep a positive attitude. The massage itself was nice but I could barely enjoy the rest of the spa's amenities as it began raining and the spa tubs and other pools were all outdoors in direct line of the rain. After all of this, we decided to cut our losses and leave a day early. The manager was at least accommodating considering everything and refunded our room fee for the third night, but it was still a disappointing end to what was supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip for my husband and I. The one highlight was a day of golf at Rope Rider with my husband. A beautiful golf course and challenging for golfers of all levels. read more

Issues: - Broken hot tub - Broken shower - Made service never came when requested - Children in public hot tubs - Dog doo left unchanged In private patio and on side walks - The biggest issue we faced was that our hot tub did not work. I intentionally booked a room with a private hot tub after realizing there would be a lot of kids around (we are an adult couple), thinking that we would just cook most of our own food and some adventures and then hang in the room and use our private hot tub. But when we arrived the hot tub was empty. The next day, we were informed it needed a part and was not operable. The manager offered us a switch to a one bedroom (no a tub), instead of our studio with a broken hot tub. We didn't feel like moving. There was dog doo doo left on the patio from a previous guest and, after multiple calls and a trip to the front desk, no one came to clean it up (we waited 2 days and gave up). Also, the shower head in our room didn't really work so we had to take bathes. All of the public hot tubs in the resort were filled with small children (I thought you had to be twelve to use a hot tub). I thought I had booked a massage at the spa and figured I would just use the hot tub there since it probably would have only adults in it. But I made a mistake on my booking, and to use the spa facilities, it would have cost $120 per person. To get access to a child free hot tub. Lots of dogs around and owners did not pick up after them, so, doo doo on the side walks. We ended up just giving up and leaving a night early. We just were not having any fun and were too disappointed by the hot tub situation a maid services never arriving that we decided we'd rather just be home. At check out, the woman at the front desk was really kind when she realized we were leaving early and asked if there was anything to do that would make us stay, I explained that we were just over it. A little while after she called back left a message saying her manager wanted to offer me compensation. I called back and she was busy. The next day I called back several times. And received a couple of voicemails. And I even gave a window of time that I would be available to answer my phone. I kept my phone on and was attentive and nobody called me back and I called back again and no one answered, once again. And there wasn't a machine who even answered on, so I just gave up. Like most adults, I don't really have a whole lot of time to be sitting around waiting for a phone call to remedy a trip that I just wanna pretend never happened. I will say, we came on a holiday weekend, so it was very busy. I was aware of that ahead of time, which is why I intentionally booked a room with a private hot tub. The children really were everywhere and most of the parents were pretty rude. There were multiple times where I just wanted to sit and take the beautiful view and then parents would plop their child literally right in front of where I was sitting on the windowsill, two feet in front of me, while I was actively looking out of it. Or I'd be walking in they would walk right through me except me to move aside. Or I'd start to get into the hot tub and three children would run in front of me, take up the whole tub, and start splashing around. I walked out of the pool and a child cannonballed into the pool, splashing my robe. Never any apologies from parents. Had we had a private hot tub or I had made plans that didn't involve a hot tub, we would've been fine. But it was hard to pivot with no notice. As compensation, I did get $100 credit that we spent at the restaurant. The Stone Stove was really great. The manager was attentive, staff were kind and the food was delicious. The drink menu was great. They had a whole Old Fashioned section on the menu. I had the fire side one and it was really good. We also booked a snowmobile tour with Motor Toys through the resort. That was absolutely the highlight of the trip. It was so fun and the people there were so great and organized. It was really nice that we could just go out and hike right from the resort. There is a trail right there in the trail is really nice and has some good views and a river trail. And there weren't very many people on it so it was nice little escape. read more

Wow what a disappointing stay. My grandmother had a home in Suncadia years ago and since then has drastically gone down hill. First we were put in a room at the Inn with unsightly water damage along the walls with no compensation. Portals was awful, food was no better than IHOP including a cup of coffee that was mostly grounds. Also, they were out of most staple breakfast items (OJ, Sausage). Stovehouse was also incredibly underwhelming, had to send food back and had mediocre service. The last night of our stay, we were kept up by Stovehouse patrons being loud and belligerent with no one to contact after they closed. The last morning of our stay we were awoken by a groundskeeper mowing the lawn and leaf blowing at 7:45am for 30+ minutes. The overall lack of care and consideration of the resort guests are in summary why we will never (and I mean never) return to stay here. 1 star for the spa, it was killer. A little dirty. read more

Nice location. Terrible service. Understaffed with the few employees running around. Huge roving bands of families that take up the one public space. Bed had a broken slat so once that was fixed, room was never made up. Towels and bath room not cleaned once in 4 day stay. Way way way over priced. Spotty hot water. When I spoke with the evening supervisor about getting the room made up, she stated it had been very busy (were visitors a surprise?) and not very pleasant about the issue. read more

When I tried to call the front desk to resolve, I couldn't get a dial tone and couldn't find the phone number on the website. Finally, googled the hotel and got a number. The I've never been here before pandemic because it was way too close and too local thing but now.. I've been here almost a dozen times thing. I've used to fly so much like my life depends on it. Mostly out of country/ Europe for long trips like month long or shorter weekend trips in the country. My friends used to have a lot of events here and I have never made it. Just because they were on weekends and I'm usually out of town! Glad that pandemic slow our travels way down else I wouldn't have discovered this place at all. Even drove past to Leavenworth, Chelan, Winthrop several times but just never made it. The best part: location, the mountains! The trail, Cle Elum river down below ( beware of mosquitos in Summer! They are lethal), crazy wind! Snow, colder, darker weather. The views! And the pet friendliness. The con: depends on which day you check in, front desk! Front desk person plays a huge role in how your trip would go: at least in pandemic. My stays last year /2020 were great. Stays in 2021, it was hit or miss. Booked a penthouse to splurge few months back and it was the worst room. The dirtiest too in pandemic where vaccines just started getting distributed but not available to everyone. That was a turn off. The fridge didn't work, there was left over food in the fridge ( half eaten fried chicken and strong smelling sandwich) , chocolate wrappers all over the room ( not good if you have a dog!), super dusty tables. It was a huge miss!! Another stay without penthouse was just fine. Cleaner room ( guessing better housekeeping for smaller room or rooms that get booked often?). Portal was initially a ok for dining but it's the only restaurant in the lodge without getting out. It's been better. I enjoy eating there. And the 1.5 hour drive from Seattle to be completely away from it all, pretty good. It's a huge property. Swift water cellars only location is now here, the prospector golf course, the pools, the trails and those stairs! I love those stairs and so does my pup. It could be a hit or miss but it's also the only hotel that's carved out on a mountain! If you stay at the lodge anyway. We still like it! read more

If you are booking a house at Suncadia , make sure you look at the details. Beds can be sleeping bags on the floor apparently and they count as actual beds. ? Prepare to get frustrated with finding quick food options for kids around the resort. Still cant believe the lack of snacks, dessert/treats available? They should have a snack and craft concierge that can be delivered. If theres no door dash, no amazon prime, you really dont have options. Im surprised they dont take advantage of this at the resort. I would have paid $100 for some ice cream sandwiches, otter pops, and some slime or board game. The inconvenience of travel when you just want to unpack and relax in a hot tub and bond with family is a huge burden. Make sure to bring your own food. And hope you dont forget ketsup. Or youll be doing a safeway trip you wish you didnt have to do stArting at 15mph in the loopty loop resort. Third time back staying in a house booked thru Suncadia... This time it was 33 Big Hill. Nightly rate was over $915 in Aug. Waaaay overpriced compared to what you can get in other houses. I feel like it was just taking advantage of a busy weekend during a marathon to mark it up or because of proximity to pool? Dirty pots and pans, lacking and mismatched kitchen accessories ( and missing a couple measuring utensils was a pain) I don't recommend this house if you have kids. Here's why: 1. The twin beds arent beds. They are literally mats on the ground like a sleeping bag. No padding. And hard underneath. Its like they tried to make a movie theater but instead thru bed placeholders down. The kids then fought over the actual queen bed aka "top bunk". Which was firm And uncomfortable. 2. There is no door to third floor so the kids voices will echo or if you want to enjoy wine after kids go to sleep you cant because your voices will carry upstairs to their room without a closed door. 3. No garage. No driveway = packing and unpacking the car is a pain. 4. The golf course sprinkler system will go off before bedtime and your kids will have to play in it. Its so close it literally covered us in the hot tub and the 2nd story master balcony. 5. There werent any board games or "Fun" built in like there were in the other 2 homes weve rented in Suncadia. Just a foosball table. And the kids werent into that. 6. Smoker as a neighbor. Unsure if a full time Resident or a rented but morning coffee outside smelling smoke was not fun. 7. Not sure if an ongoing problem but we checked in to house with a dead bird on our master balcony. Not fun to deal with and I wonder if the large windows make it a regular occurrence? If so, they have stickers for that to place on windows. Pro: it was closer than the other 2 houses we've rented to the main pool. True walking distance unless its super windy like it was for us and our floats were going everywhere so we chose to drive. Activities: Reservations for restaurants was not something we did far enough in advance. Same for spa. So that was all missed. Tie Dye was cool but we didnt get the take home directions. If you have multiple kids , be prepared to wait as the rubber banding took a long time. It would be so beneficial for all staff around resort to be up to speed on how to book and where to go for the kids activities. We did the build a bear type activity called bear factory. Not worth the $ and there's not even clothes available for them. It was located at Village Pavilion. The lodge check in and check out was hard for parking and for the exit sign. Lots of confused cars. They should Get a sign to show exit clearly when you step out of lodge. Im leaving stars because there was air conditioning, memories were made, the hot tub was relaxing for a couple minutes. (When the neighbors dog wasnt peeing on the rocks next to it, the other neighbor wasnt smoking, and the golf course sprinklers werent covering us in freezing cold water in the hot tub. ) Plus, family time in the pool was a hit as was the mac and cheese bites at the food truck at main pool. Also, bathrooms were close and handy at nelson farm pool and the wine was within reach there. read more

We have stayed in The Inn at Suncadia for years. I have a medical disability/medical issues that hit me hard this week. I attempted to cancel one of the two night stays so that I could get home. We have been members of Hyatt Hotels for some fifty yrs. And am aware of the seventy two hr. Cancelation Policy. I canceled six days out only to learn they have a seven day cancelation policy and it DOESN'T COVER MEDICAL EMERGENCIES/serious Medical Issues as I am experiencing. Beautiful location. Spacious suite at the Lodge had an amazing view. A fair amount of noise from swimmers in pool below, and partiers at the fire pit until well after 1am. Spa (sauna & soaking pools) serene and relaxing, though free beverage promised in first 10 min not delivered until very end of my session. Promised services not materializing was a theme. Had a couple issues with room and transportation and in each case was told someone would follow up but then never heard from anyone again. Confirmed twice before booking that I would be here without a car and would need transportation to the airporter shuttle. Was assured, twice, that I could book the hotel shuttle to do this. On arrival told that the hotel does not do this. Desk person promised to follow up, but never heard from them again. Eventually got some non-hotel #'s from another desk person and sorted it out myself. (Google has nothing for taxis in Cle Elum, uber and lyft not really a thing round here) Door to balcony broke on second day and would not open. Balcony key feature of room, called it in, was told maintenance was on their way, never showed up. Currently air-drying all my clothes before early morning departure because turned out dryer in room was broken... Come for the setting, but otherwise plan to be totally self-sufficient, bring your own food and perhaps get a degree in basic home and appliance repair first too. read more

One of the worst check in experiences. 4-6 pm is the legal check in time. Arrived by 330 after having requested early checkin. Early checkin was not possible as the concierge kept buying time from us. Right now 635pm, and still waiting to get a room assigned. Is this even legal for Hyatt and Suncadia resort ? First, I'm traveling alone, and they let a man have the key to my room who entered and scared me at 1:00 am. The front desk didn't even call to apologize. The heat doesn't work--it only goes up to 70--and apparently only engineering can unlock it and they leave at 11 pm. Front desk was so unhelpful and rude about it. They also could not be bothered to look further than behind the desk for packages that were delivered and needed first thing in the morning. They didn't find them, and again didn't care. This is a review partly of the hotel itself and partly of the demeanor of some of the guests being disrespectful and not understanding they are sharing space with other people. No, this has nothing or very little to do with COVID. First, the room we stayed in was damaged and showing ware from over use and lack of regular maintenance. Our coffee table had a huge crack. The curtain rod fell apart. We were missing some basic utensils in the kitchen. Our friend's room fireplace did not function and their oven did not work at all. We called the front desk to get a spatula and never had one brought up. We had what should have been a minor altercation in the hotel pool with around 12-15 people smoking in the pool area. We kindly asked them to not smoke which they replied rudely, "we are out side! You are way over there!" Two asshats then brought their cigarettes up to their friends in the pool offering them drags in a mocking way. I'm not sure what world these people live in but to not have a single shred of empathy is ridiculous. We called the front desk which they responded quickly to come out but they did little to actually enforce their policy for no smoking in the pool and pool area. Yeah, I'm probably going to be thought of as a "karen" or a "Chad" but what ever. Assholes be assholes and they are going to bully the rest of us with their inflated sense self worth. Never the less this will be our last time staying here. I hope you consider doing the same. read more

Overall the place was great! We went during the winter which was pretty. Appreciate the NW, however most of our party needed to stay at the lodge and we picked them up bc our house we stayed at had horrible roads, most people who are there all the time or rent it out do clean the driveways, but i guess ours didn't live here and our neighbors were OUT OF TOWN. party. OH did we, it was great lots of drinking, games, running in the dark in the snow and more. Ahhhhh bacherlotte part was great!!! the spa was good, loved the hott tubs in the rocks and then having drinks and hanging out, bu the idea of being sooo quite in the quite rooms was in sane there is sooo many parties and to be honest no one is getting a massage in there, it should be the only time we can hang out and chat, anyways we took it outside most days which was fine. I got the coffee scrub pedi and LOVED it all of it! I enjoyed it all and all the staff was great. There was someone in our party who had their own play list, fell asleep and the staff was still patience and helpful to the situation. read more

For nearly $2000, I have expectations that don't include check-in at 6PM and a house in the middle of a construction zone (we had to park in a mound of dirt and haul our luggage from 50 yards away). we've had mediocre experiences at the Suncadia Lodge before, but this was the first time we were renting a house. 31 Big Hill Drive. It's actually 31 BIG MISTAKE Avenue! (It wasn't even the same house we booked online! They switched our houses!) Save yourself the headache, rent something outside of the Suncadia conglomerate "Resort" you'll thank me later with your wallet and your smoother journey. I have lots of places I want to spend money at, Suncadia isn't one of them. Leave the failure of this resort to the 90 year olds that love the golf there still. I don't see this resort doing well in the near future with the lack of customer-centric behavior and tactics we observed. Here's the breakdown: This review is for 31 Big Hill Drive in Suncadia. It's part of the Suncadia home rental program. 1) Not the house we booked. Take a screenshot of what you "Think" you're booking. All you get in your email confirmation is "3 bedroom house" which could mean anything, and Suncadia is happy to have that mean "Anything" as they just randomly throw you into whatever they feel at the moment. 2) Check-in is at 6PM, so your entire first day with your kids is shot as your busy trying to unpack, cook dinner and maybe relax a little bit. 3) There's no parking due to the construction, all the spots are roped off. This is tremendously unhelpful as our vehicle was FULL of stuff that had to be carried very far, not to mention the added troubles of dealing with our kids. I estimated we were parked 50 yards away from our house. 4) The noise at all hours was deafening. Not anywhere or once does it say that Suncadia is under constant construction, but more locally, your entire area is under construction. This includes fork lift noises, pounding, banging, loud thuds that shake the house and windows, workers cat calling your wife, loud conversations happening 2 feet from your front door, workers smoking right outside your property, nail guns, generators, air compressors, you name it....it's going on from 7AM to 7PM. Not 1 warning about any of it. 5) The house was filthy - pubic hairs in the bathtub, the air filter was covered in a thick layer of dust and looked like it needed to be switched out years ago. There was dust EVERYWHERE, likely from the dirty air filters. If you have even the slightest allergies I would see this house not being adequate to stay in. Suncadia should owe me a full and complete refund for the egregious conditions they expected me to vacation in, I haven't heard anything from the front desk after contacting them which is beyond disappointing. Their commitment to customer experience is on full-display with this situation. Renting a house from Suncadia is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

Writing a review solemnly to compliment Tracy, who deserves an award for OUTSTANDING service! We arrived to Suncadia a little bummed because our car broke down and had to be towed along the way, but Tracy instantly lightened the mood. I have never met an employee let alone a person so warm and welcoming! She even went out of her way after her shift to drop off a package I needed to ship out at the post office. I left Suncadia talking about how much I adored her; her smile was simply contagious! I could go on and on about Tracy, but I'll stop here! Suncadia also deserves recognition. The resort is calm and relaxing, and the amenities are super awesome! I was able to rent mopeds, tan at the pool, enjoy a fabulous meal at Swiftwater, and go on a beautiful morning run near the golf course! Will definitely be back soon! read more

Very expensive get-getaway for a wedding anniversary was marred by dinner at Suncadia lodge in Portals Beautiful golf. Beautiful view. Kinda nice room. The Cesar salad was the plainest I've seen. Romain lettuce and some crotons. Maybe a little dressing. I asked the waitress if there might be some anchovies back in the kitchen. She said she would check! There was! But they only had one can and it had 40 anchovies in there. They didn't want to open it, you know, just for me. How much is a can anyway? She just could have said nope, no anchovies. ‍ read more

Suncadia - Hotels Near Me - Cle Elum, Washington

This place is amazing! The nature is beautiful with full amenities! For a city gal like me, I was able to have access to the Internet and to enjoy the nature without having to worry about no connection to my news reports or social media activities. I went on this trip with my boyfriend, his uncle & aunt, and his two little cousins. We stayed at The Lodge at Suncadia. We were able to have the room that had the view to the mountains. The condo unit was equipped with kitchen utensils and wares. We pretty much spent our 2 days hiking, eating, riding scooters, and enjoying the hot days at the swimming pool. The waterslides were great additions to another step of fun at the pool. For dinner, we went to Swiftwater Cellar Winery. The place looks fancy with wonderful food. There was nothing better than enjoying your foods, talking to your loved ones, and listening to country music playing in the background. At night, we sat by the fire to have marshmallows and enjoyed the beautiful moon in the sky. We could also see the stars - something you don't get to see much anymore when you remain the city 24/7. It isn't bad for 1 hour trip to enjoy out of the city of Seattle to the Eastern side of WA. read more

We stayed at a penthouse in the lodge. We booked a resort view that had no view. The room carpet was so dirty and the sofa bed was old and dirty. The bathroom curtain in one of the room had mold. See pictures attached. Service was not good neither. read more

We booked a Memorial Day weekend here as a local resort experience. I'll cut it down to the good, bad and ugly: GOOD: The resort grounds are in relatively good shape. Nice trails for walking, we did the stairs down to the river and about half of the staff is friendly and helpful. We booked for the spa services and the caliber of the spa services was great - no complaints there. There's a little sanctuary attached to the spa and that was also nice and serene too. Plus - they are dog-friendly. BAD: Suncadia, like most hospitality outfits are struggling with being short staffed. This equates to the other half of the workers we encountered as burnt out and apathetic. The rooms are a bit dated - I can live with that but both dressers had stuck drawers that jammed throughout our stay, and there's not the usual phone-chargers that are at this point, standard in higher-end hotels and resorts. Decidedly not resort- quality. UGLY: We went to Stovehouse and ordered the Crossroads for $20: "choice of mischief distillery barrel finished fin OR john jacob bye whiskey, bitters, simple syrup, orange peel and luxardo cherry garnish, smoked in-house with fruit wood." When the drink came, no garnishes. So we politely inquired about the garnishes. They said they were low on garnishes. Low, not out. So, uh, could we get some of your remaining garnishes or no since it's $20? I think the final straw for me was on check out day, Memorial Day, we had 2 spa appointments 10-11am, and then archery for the kids 11-12. When we explained our back to back sessions and asked for a late checkout, we were told the latest they could do was 12. So, uh, how are we supposed to get back from the back to back spa/archery sessions to check out when it's 8min drive away? Let's do the math here. What we are paying for add-on experiences at Suncadia is more than the $85 extended late check out for Suncadia. This is plain lazy and bad customer service. Here's what good customer service would have been: 1. Pulls up our room and sees the charges of what we have booked and added to our room. 2. Sees it's a quite a bit. Accommodates a late check out cheerfully, especially since their water slides have been closed, which is a big draw (see attached photo). Once I spoke to the manager, she grudgingly extended our check out to 2pm. Even their MOD is apathetic. Net: We will not stay here again, and we would not recommend. Attention to details: Phone chargers, functional furniture, drink garnishes, customer service levels is what makes for a resort experience. It's the overall lack of attention, and also apathy of the 50% of the customer service experience that kills the experience for us. After reading all the reviews, I was skeptical heading east to stay the weekend here. My partner and I signed up for the Wellness Weekend and so far, it's been a bit disappointing and I'm just glad I didn't have high expectations. My review is based on my experience for the package that I thought was suppose to add and enhance our lifestyle. We paid a bit over $900 for the 2 of us, check in Friday at 4 pm and checkout at 11 a.m. Sunday. One thing that comes to mind that I did truly love and enjoy was the morning yoga, that was awesome. The class was held outside as the weather was nice (cold but blue skies). Other than that, I just found myself frowning at everything else that followed. A cooking demo with a nutritionist and chef was scheduled-what we got was a long lecture as we sat and listened for 2.5 hours (this includes feedback given to other wellness goers on their bad eating habits etc..). The demo was held after yoga and when we walked in, they served scones, muffins, croissants, and two kinds of whole fruit (and morning beverages). Strange and contradictory of a wellness weekend. The chef cooked but no one ate. At lunch, we were given a bag lunch and were told to pick out a sandwich, chips and something else. HUH? These are the things that are opposite of what we should be putting into our bodies. No access to the spa facilities unless you paid $67 (hotel guest) and $75 (non-hotel), oh, but day passes were sold out so never mind. The restaurants and cafes at the Lodge at below your standard, I'd rather eat at Starbucks or drive into town. Okay, enough of the smack talking.... The resort is located in a beautiful area and if you love nature, this would be considered almost paradise. Clean facilities, dog friendly, helpful staff, large rooms (just really outdated decor). The draft and wind that comes through the hotel is really obnoxious. :) :) They provided FREE smores to toast and enjoy near the fire outside. Nice drive and close to the city. There are stairs behind the lodge, called 1000 Steps, that take you down to the river, great exercise and beautiful scenery. I also like the toiletries they provide, Nest. Would we be back? Probably not. We kept comparing what we experience at Suncadia to other resorts we've been to and Suncadia seem to always fall short. This is a BEAUTIFUL area, just not our cup of tea for the price we paid. Our go to is the Allison Inn in Newburg, OR. read more

An alarm goes off at 6AM every morning in the room next to mine and stays on for multiple hours. I've called the front desk about this issue for 2 days now. I've spoken to them in person regarding this issue 3 times now. I recorded the constant beeping noise and had them listen to it. The response from the front desk has been dismissive. I have not been offered any steps to solve this issue. The last time I spoke with the front desk they stated they don't own the room and are unable to enter the room to turn off the alarm. Does that mean I just have to listen to the alarm going off for hours every morning starting at 6AM? Very disappointed in Suncadia for failing to solve this very annoying and simple issue. read more

Check in time is a lie. You don't get to check in until the snobby people at the counter decide to let you. This place is a joke. It could be a really wonderful place but it's run terribly. They scam all the owners with high commissions which is the only thing they care about. Filling those rooms with high dollars and not giving a shit about anything else. read more

We had stayed at Suncadia's sister resort in Oregon (Sunriver) and were excited to visit Suncadia in Washington for the first time. It's a gorgeous area with lots of hiking trails, rivers, and lakes for outdoor recreation. On the downside: (1) Unlike Sunriver, there is very little in the way of restaurants, shopping, or sightseeing. The two nearby towns, Cle Elum and Roslyn, are tiny with few retail options. The several restaurants we tried were super disappointing. (2) The resort itself seems to be trending more and more in the direction of "exclusivity," with one of the two pools and certain other facilities reserved for home owners only. (3) The fitness center is terrible. It's in an upstairs loft area above the indoor pool. Even during very cool days, it was so hot as to be unusable, and basic gym equipment (e.g., lat pulldown machine) was lacking. (4) we ate twice at The Source, the restaurant at the Lodge. Service was terrible. Each time it literally took 50 minutes from the time our order was taken for our drinks to come to the table. The second time we finally went up to the bar ourselves after 45 minutes and the bartender had not even seen our order yet. The food service was similarly slow. (5) Inexcusably, our rental house was FILTHY. There was a USED DIAPER under one of the beds. The floors and carpets were covered with long white dog hair which got all over our clothes. We asked for someone to come over and vacuum; a young guy who had no idea about housecleaning came by and rolled a large long roller over the floor, to little effect. Closet shelves were dusty. The whole place needed a thorough cleaning top to bottom. Overall score, B-. read more

This 5 star resort is beautiful with a mountainous rugged touch. I am here on a weekday in the winter. Most their winter activities (ice skating and tubing) is over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They have snowshoeing and cross country skiing available everyday between 9 am - 4pm. Everything shuts down after 10pm so there is no one valeting, no bell hops, no bar service, and no room service. Every room is very clean with fireplace and spacious living room. There is washer/dryer, kitchen, oven, stove, microwave, and safe. There is both tub and standup shower. The couch is also a fold out couch. The road to the lodge is a little windy so pay attention to the signs. There is a shuttle that takes you to the gym with pool and hot tub. Internet is available all over the lodge. There is self parking and $12 valet parking. The drinks ($10) and food ($25) are normal Seattle prices. There is a fire pit outside and a beautiful winter wonderland. read more

Honestly, I would have never booked here if I knew the construction and scaffolding blocked the view. The restaurant doesn't have good hours and the food is over priced. We are happy to pay for a quality meal, however this was not the place. The ambience music gave us migraines as it sounded like we were stuck in a nursing home elevator with frenetic jazz on a loop. Only one of the elevators was working. In town, there was great eateries and made the trip worth the hassle. My check out process took a very long time. We left a day early as we were done with the stay. In addition, TV channels were limited. The caffe downstairs did not serve drip coffee. I must say the room was clean and housekeeping did a great job. We have stayed at many resorts and this is not somewhere I would return. read more

I needed to get away for a few days and came across Suncadia's website and decided this is where we needed to go for R&R and I'm happy I did! First, the drive down is stunning! The looming mountains in Snoquaimie Pass, the beautiful, sparkling Keechelus Lake, and the playful deer as we drove up to the resort. As we entered The Lodge, the view of the mountains was incredibly peaceful. I felt as if I had walked into a fairy tale (the good kind, not the evil, macabre kind). We had reserved a one bedroom, with a queen sofa sleeper, room that had a private outdoor hot tub (it's extra), an electric fireplace, and a full kitchen. It was fantastic to open the sliding glass door and sit in front of the fireplace (which unfortunately we found out is something we couldn't do 90% of the time - see below). I utilized the Health and Fitness Center everyday. On sunny days I swam in the heated outdoor pool and relaxed in the outdoor spa. On days it was overcast and cool, I swam in the indoor heated pool. As I was there during the week, I had both pools all to myself! There is also a sauna, which really isn't my thing, but my friend said it fantastic. All the employees I came into contact with were warm, friendly, and helpful. The coffee bar area is only open until about 4pm, but if it was closed, you just ask the front desk and they can help. They can't make espresso, but if you needed any of the sundries, they'd open it for you. My biggest issue, and why I knocked off a star is that our room (2023 in The Lodge...make sure your DON'T get this room!) was right next to the exhaust for the boiler room. Which meant that if we opened the sliding glass door, we'd be overwhelmed by the smell of a noxious fume. The first night there, we called the front desk as we thought there was a gas leak. The engineer came and immediately knew where the smell was coming from, said if the wind was just right the exhaust blew into our porch. Unfortunately the wind must have been just right our entire stay as we were never able to use the hot tub or sit outside. Such a disappointment! We did tell the front desk and they were very apologetic and as we checked out, the manager on duty came out and spoke with us. The additional fee for the hot tub was reversed on our bill, but we had really looked forward to the hot tub. Sad face.... Overall, I'm glad I went and enjoyed the beauty of Suncadia. I will definitely go back and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a few days. It was relaxing and offered incredible food (Fifty 6 Degrees had an amazing Prime Rib Dip!). But when I go back, I will ensure that my room is no where near the boiler room exhaust! read more

The pros: The Suncadia "campus" is gorgeous. Dawson Park has a great playground for the little ones; the swim center's pool is huge and it's very easy to socially distance; the 1,000 Steps (there are really only 379, but it feels like 1,000) down to the Cle Elum River is an amazing stairway; there's marshmallow toasting going on every night outside the lodge and you can make your own s'mores; there are miles of trails to enjoy. The cons: The stay at the Lodge left quite a bit to be desired. We asked for a crib/pack and play. When we arrived, there wasn't one there. They said they'd run out and we could get on a waiting list. Needless to say one never arrived, which proved quite disruptive for our sleep. They didn't have a refrigerator or microwave. They don't have ice machines -- you have to get your ice from the front desk. We inquired about bike rentals and they told us they'd recently had ~40 bikes stolen so it would be hard to get one. The concierge kept wearing his mask below his nose. What else.... it proved very difficult to get to correct extensions (room service, etc.) when calling on my cell vs. the hotel's phone. When we came in, the TV was on -- they want you to use it to get all sorts of information and to use your smartphone as a remote, but how to do this is not at all intuitive, and the "engineer" they sent up wasn't a ton of help. Lastly... they've gone away from paper in the rooms, like those binders of hotel information you usually see at places. They tout this specifically. But if you do that you had better make sure your website works, and their website is full of 404s and things that don't work. I guess they're saving money on paper (and they're also doing that by not providing note paper or envelopes), but it sure didn't make things convenient. Oh, and last -- their trash cans are very small, and they're not doing regular housekeeping, so it's up to you to ask for trash collection. I'm giving this place 3 instead of 2 stars (I'd give it 2 1/2 if I could) because the grounds are lovely and it would be fun to go back. But as long as we can still get access to most of the amenities, I think next time it'll be at a house or condo on the property, not at the lodge itself. read more

Hats off to you Suncadia, the best part of this trip is hoping that I will not return. We have been here for 2 hours after a long drive for a work trip. Room service delivered a salad without salad dressing, frozen shrimp and no salad dressing. No salad dressing. The salmon and shrimp were really fishy and I couldn't eat it. Wrong bottle of wine with a dry cork that broke and the most sad salad of all time was $75. They did bring the right bottle of wine at no charge. Luckily because as I type this, I can here the people in the next room having a conversation. Word for word... Tried to get a beer at the bar earlier where 4 servers were too busy to help after sitting there for 10 minutes. If you come here by choice, I truly feel bad for you. If it is a work trip, get some food and adult beverages in town. read more

I have stayed at the lodge 5+ times and a house on the property once. The lodge is super underwhelming. The rooms are dirty- honestly, this hotel has the worst housekeeping. I usually have a full blown allergy attack within 20 minutes of stepping into a guest room. They also do not have outlets by the bed, which is super annoying. I travel with an extension cord but still have to move furniture to plug it in. The lodge is ground zero for grown people acting like they are on spring break. Screaming and drunken horse play are common. Ugg. The house we rented was nice but there's limited parking and so much construction everywhere the views aren't great unless you enjoy looking at construction sites. read more

My home away from home! I love this place and have been coming with friends and family for years now! Until recently, I hadn't really experienced their spa....OMGosh!!! YOU HAVE TO!!!! I could kick myself that I didn't make this a PRIORITY!!! Wow! Overall, very nice experience. Pros: 1. Beautiful grounds, nuff said 2. Dog friendly, at least at the Lodge. The room had a preexisting dog smell, but that was cool. The room had it's own jacuzzi and small yard for our dog to play in. Beds comfy, nice bathroom, nice little kitchen. Nice. 3. Multiple areas, swimming, workout, winery, sleigh rides, etc. I am a low energy traveller, so if you need dopamine this may not be the place for you, but definitely suited my tastes. 4. Food: Jesus god, so expensive, but so goddam good. The pizza...excelllent.....the chicken wings via room service....died and went to heaven. Cons 1. Costly. 2. Lots of expensive looking people. Normally doesn't bother me, but Christ, I felt like a down on his luck temporarily embarrassed millionaire compared to these snooty folks. I'm not rich, but upper middle class and I felt like an absolute peasant. Maybe it's a complex, maybe a countertransference phenomenon going on. Probably all in my head. 3. We had good snow, but last year we drove by and it was a pleasant 70 degrees with NO snow. I think with the global warmings going on, a white Christmas in Suncadia may go the way of the Dodo. 4. Parking/driving/valet: At the lodge at least, total nightmare. Not enough room to offload, porters who were, shall we say, not up to snuff, slightly rude and gruff. Self parking could essentially vanish requiring inventive ways to park. Overall, very nice. Took my quadcopter up there and got some great shots. Hopefully the global warmings will slow so that snow will be perennial reason to visit. If not, there's always Alaska. read more

My cousin just finished building his vacation home here and I was lucky enough to be able to visit recently. Man, this place is totally gorgeous. He took me on a tour of the grounds, including the Lodge, winery, activity rental center, and pool. I could really see myself having a great time here. He told me about the history of the place, how it used to be a coal mine. We even saw deer in front of his house! We had wine at the winery/restaurant in the Lodge and sat outside next to the fire pits. Man did it make for a relaxing day. The wine was delicious, I had great company, and the view is unbeatable. I told my cousin that I had never seen so many trees in my life (I'm from LA after all). It was totally beautiful! read more

EXPECT: How can I say this. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! My wife and I got married here and had a great experience. The staff is amazing. We came back recently for our 1 year anniversary and the work they did for us and service was spectacular. They were able to get us into the same room (I forgot the room #) from when we got married. They allowed us to check in very early. We had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. This is hands down my wife's favorite place and we will be coming back annually.
