I found Stewart's over 4 years ago when a large local Honda dealer said my Honda Accord needed new brakes (it did not ... hmmm) and a timing belt (a really expensive service charge at the dealer). I never met Stewart before today. After reading all the good reviews about him I called this morning and asked if he had tine to pre-inspect an Acura I was as planning to purchase. He was nice but told me how busy a day this was going to be and that tomorrow would be a better time for him. I was willing to wait a day because of his expertise. When I went to look at the potential car and then spoke to Stewart. He couldn't promise but was going to try to see the car today. I got a call around 6pm after he had already closed for the day. He gave me an in depth report about potential issues in about a year but did say it was a decent car.i am grateful he was willing to help someone that wasn't even a current customer in his already crazy day. I been taking my Ridgeline here for 5years for tune ups. Stewart is very nice guy with lots of knowledge. His crew is very friendly. Just make sure you set appointment in advance cause he's that good there small kine waiting time. Never had emergency so I don't know if you can take to him right a way. I have an older car and I brought my car to various mechanics and they turned me down saying things like "let it rust out", "buy a new car", "no oem parts", well...if it isn't broke, then it still works. But with Stewart he was awesome in taking my car in and giving it quality time. I asked for a "mechanics inspection" from bumper to bumper for the car. He called me later in the day verifying the work to be done and it was a mix between preventative and corrective maintenance. The work took longer than a day due to the scarcity of parts and the amount of labor involved. But by no means was I in a rush and I figured it would have taken a few days but he and his team were speedy! Upon picking up the car we spoke about some caution items that may require repair in years to come. I will definitely come back for normal services. I almost hate to do this review since Stewarts already has such a loyal following and because he is so good you will normally have to wait to make an appointment. I've been going to Stewart ever since he had his shop in a parking garage downtown. I've been driving for over 50 years and have never met a better mechanic. I remember the first time I went to him was for a water pump and after going to his office to fill out some paper work I was surprised when I walked out that he was already pulling the water pump out. I went to Stewart's Auto Service yesterday. Here is my review. 1. Mr. Stewart is a nice and honest man. I find him from this web-site. 2 The reason I went to see him is the light " service engine soon" in my car turn on few days ago. Everything is fine but the light keep truning on. I am worried about it. I need to know what happn to my car. 3. Stewart's Auto Service charged me 81 $ for 35-55 mins inspection by the diagnosis scaner OBD2. Some air leak happen but not serious. 4. 30$ for a new gas cap. 5 Total 120$. 6. As a foreigner student from asia, I have no ideal the 81$ inspection fee is reasonable or not. In my country, repair car means you have to inspect first, the auto repair service will not charge this part. 7. Anyway, good man and good service. Price? no reference to compare in US. The best place to take your car! I drive all the way from Wahiawa (17 miles) to Town just to take my 1997 Honda Prelude SH (275k miles) to Stewart. He does honest work with quality customer service. Very fair prices that won't cost you an arm and a leg. I've been going to Stewart for about 4 years now and he's the only mechanic I go to. He specializes on certain makes of cars like Honda, Acura, Toyota and Lexus. He is so busy that you will need to call and schedule a time to bring in your car. Called to set up a time I could bring in my truck to see what could be wrong when I start it up. Instead, one of the staff tried to diagnosis the problem over the phone. He said he was trying to educate me on what could be the problem. I requested if there could be a test that can be done to check on my truck start up since I was calling for a second opinion. He said there is but it may not detect the problem and went again to explain again why he is trying to educate me. He was not helpful in taking care of my needs and I would not recommend this place. read more

I'm glad that I tried out Stewart to check out the whining steering noise coming from my 08 RDX. Overhauled the pump and will keep an eye on the rack for possible leak. Most mechanics would've wanted to replace it right away (a $$$ job). Will definitely be back for future service. read more

Stewart's diagnosis of my Toyota camry conflicted with 2 other mechanics' advice. I don't know what the rave is about this place. I went because of all the 5 star reviews, and my experience was less than 1 star. I paid the $150 + tax service charge for Stewart to diagnose my car. I called at least twice to ask Stewart about his diagnosis. He never called me back. Long story short: 1) I paid for a diagnostic, 2) the analysis didn't make sense, 3) mechanic failed to return my calls. So much for customer service and expertise. read more

If you have a Honda, I can't recommend Stewart enough. The air conditioning in my Accord went out, and I was quite nervous as I know how expensive that can get. I dropped my car off at Stewart's in the morning and before I was able to even get to work they called to let me know it was going to be a relatively simple and inexpensive fix. They didn't try to push anything I didn't need, and did an excellent repair for a fair price. I wouldn't want to take my Honda anywhere else after going to Stewart's! read more

I do most of my maintenance and the fact is I haven't taken my car to Stewart's in over a year (know about this shop for over 12 yrs now), but I recommend him to anyone requiring maintenance with any Japanese brand car. Fair price and great work. As I get older, I'll probably take my cars to Stewart more often -- I just wish his location was a little more convenient. He helped me choose a good one by carefully inspecting each car I brought to his shop which was a huge relief in the buying process. Stewart is very knowledgeable and patient, taking time to explain to you what the issue is and how he will fix it. I love the fact that he always uses genuine manufacturer parts and not cheap knock-offs in the repairs. He charges reasonably considering the high quality work that they perform there (still significantly cheaper than the dealers). The squeak is gone!!! Had an annoying squeak coming from the front wheels of my Toyota Tacoma. Made an appt at Toyota (Motor Imports) and started getting ready for a huge repair bill. Since the appt was 2 weeks out, I decided to try to find reviews on local shops in the meantime. Found Stewarts on yelp and was impressed enough by all the positive reviews, I called to see how soon I could get in. To my surprise, the friendly person gave me an appt for just two days later. My experience with Stewart's was nothing less than great. They exceeded my expectations in their professional, thoughtful and friendly service. They called to confirm my appt the day before, met me immediately when I pulled up at 7 am, called me a couple hours later to tell me what the problem was and what it would cost to fix, then called me a couple hours later to say my truck was fixed and ready to pick up. I did need a front brake job but my friends tell me that Stewart's gave me a great deal, almost half of what Toyota would have charged. I recommend Stewart's to anyone who needs a great, affordable, competent, service-minded mechanic! read more

Yet another road emergency for us...wife got to work, then our Integra wouldn't start. Called Stewart, he asked me a few diagnostic questions, I gave him accurate answers, he said, "I know exactly what's wrong. Have her get a few guys to help her push-start the car and drive it over here and I can fix it today." Did exactly what Stewart told me to do, dropped it off to him, and it was done and ready in less than one hour. Funny how a small thing like a $2 part can be a really big deal to us when the car won't start, but Stewart never fails to save the day. He and his garage crew are the most honest, hardest-working mechanics I've ever met. I'm sure Stewart's provides an amazing service because when I called earlier today to see when their next available appointment was, I was told I would have to wait a month before they could take a look at my car! Even though he wasn't able to look at my car right away, the technician that I talked to took the time to ask me what was wrong with the vehicle (in this case my car wouldn't start because I had a bad ignition coil) and gave me a diagnosis over the phone of what he thought the problem most likely was. I really appreciate that he took that extra time instead of blowing me off because they are busy with other vehicles. Because of his diagnosis, my wife and I were able to fix the vehicle ourselves... Which makes us happy because the labor was free :) The next time there is a problem with one of our vehicle's, we're definitely going to make a call to Stewart's, and hopefully get on the list for their service! Back in 2012 with our '01 Accord at 140K miles decided to fix than sell and was looking for a reliable Accord mechanic and friend at work suggested I call Stewart's Auto Service b/c of their professional work and reliability. Fast forward to Jan 2016 Stewart rebuilt the transmission a year ago and it operates so smoothly and flawlessly --better than the original. Went to Stewart's based on the the positive Yelp reviews and was impressed. Even though they are very busy, they were able to work me in on short notice since I needed the work done right away. Even had his guys stay a little late to finish the same day. They did the work I requested and let me know what else might need to be fixed soon, without trying to push any extra services. I found this shop on Yelp after buying a 2000 Honda Insight. I had a few things that I wanted to fix on the car including the hybrid battery, which they did no problem. This shop is amazing. I first called them and talked to Stewart on the phone, I was listing my problems to him and he was offering suggestions that I might be able to do myself, I was very impressed. After having 3 appointments with them I think I've had enough experience to write a review, so here's the bottom line: The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous, the prices are very fair, and the service you receive is top-notch. I gave it 4 starts for two reasons, the wait time for an appointment is in between 3-5 weeks (probably because it's a smaller shop and everyone wants their car worked on by them, but it's still an inconvenience), and the shop itself isn't very conducive to having customers wait for their vehicles. I ended up having to walk to the Ward Center until my car was ready (average wait time was 8 hours). But even with those two minor inconveniences this is still the best auto shop I've ever been to. read more
