    Jumbo Chilli Dog
    Jerry P.

So, I feel need to preface this by saying this is a conditional 4-star rating. Stewarts is a HUGE slice of nostalgia for me. I have fantastic memories of growing up in South Jersey going to Stewarts with my friends and family, and any time I stop by this location all of those warm, fuzzy feelings come flooding back. In addition to this, my kids love this place, and why wouldn't they? The menu here is pretty much the stuff of elementary-aged boys' dreams. Our most recent visit was for a quick lunch after swim practice, and it was dogs all around: corndog kids meal for the youngest, a chili dog for the older one, and a jumbo chili dog for me with a side of corn fritters for the tables. Oddly, the buns for the two hot dogs were toasted thick-cut bread, but it actually worked nicely. The dogs were tasty, and the chili topping was certainly not fancy or home made, but it did the job. We also all got ice cream floats in frosted mugs, which is always an excellent choice here. The service was friendly and fast. The fare here is certainly not high-quality, fancy versions of anything, it is what it is, and the price is reflective of that. Stewarts scratches a very specific itch. If you stick with simple selections realizing that you're going to get Sysco-style frozen food dropped in the fryer or simple dogs and burgers cooked up on a flat top by a kid learning how to be a line cook, you'll do just fine. I can almost guarantee your kids will enjoy it here, even if your cholesterol level does not.

Returned today for a quick hot dog lunch. Tried the Italian version, a jumbo Frank topped with potato, pepper and onion, and squirted with mustard and ketchup. Looked great in the plastic basket. But, aside from the oversized meat sausage which was okay, the rest left much to be desired. The taters were hard. The peppers were semi-sweet sweet, and the onions were limited. The roll it all came in was tasteless and likely beyond its best moments. The root beer is still solid, but two strikes on the grub here. There won't be a strike three.

Oh nostalgia, today you have led me astray. I had a hankering for a root beer float, and what pairs better with that than a chili dog? So I stopped in at this local Stewart's, which has been here for over 50 years. To be fair to my parent's good taste, they always took me to other locations. The hot dog itself had a good flavor, but was very small, maybe the next step up from a cocktail weenie. On first look I thought they got my order wrong, I didn't see any chili. It was there but must have been applied with a butter knife, not even a teaspoons worth. The float was very good, but very expensive too. 2 dogs and a tiny float set me back $12. Service was very quick and very friendly, but I advise any others who had fond memories of this slice of Americana to look elsewhere.

    Updated menu Feb 2017

Was a little hesitant based on previous reviews and pics but had already bought a Groupon so had to use it. I had a little bit better experience then some others. Got there early and only patron. Young High School guy taking order was very nice and pleasant, as I was waiting for food we had a decent conversation. They have a brand new menu which I found out when I got there. Decided on the buffalo wings and a cheesesteak with onions and peppers. I was given the option of "naked" wings with sauce (buffalo/blue cheese) on the side which I prefer and glad I did. The wings to me were really good. Nice breading and nice frying so they were crispy and tasty. They were a decent size as well, probably drumettes. Your typical buffalo sauce and blue cheese. 6 wings were $6. The cheesesteak on the other hand was not as good but decent. Fresh chewy bread but they slightly overcooked the meat so it was a little dry but not terrible dry, good thing for cheese and toppings. Also it was kind of small but I guess for $5.45 it is what it is. I would definitely go back for the wings (4 rating). Cheese steak is (2 rating) so overall a 3.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure every customer was taken care of. The food, though, was the real star. The burger was cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and made fresh to order. You can taste the quality in every bite. The toppings were crisp, the bun was soft yet held everything together, and the overall balance was spot on. The sides didn't disappoint either--the fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. What really stood out, however, was the consistency and attention to detail. Even during a busy time, the team kept things moving efficiently without sacrificing quality or service. The restaurant itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Under the watchful eye of Mike, Manny, and Gianna, it's clear that this location takes pride in what they do. If you're in the Hamilton area and looking for a great burger experience, run don't walk, this spot is absolutely worth the visit. I'll definitely be coming back. Years ago I took him to the original Rossi's in Chambersburg after they won WIP radio host Glen Macnow's best burger contest. The place felt smoky and cramped and alive, a beating heart of the local community. So he came back to town and said, Take me to Rossi's. I want that burger again. The new Rossi's is bigger and brighter and very aware of its own legend. The website still shouts proudly about the award winning burger, the kind of pride that lingers long after the parade has packed up and the confetti has been swept into the gutter. The official burger of Polk High. We ordered the famous burger. It arrived on a soft roll, thick and respectable, cooked properly enough. The beef had that loose packed texture that once made it special, a little craggy, a little juicy. It was, in a word, fine. It didn't part the heavens, and it didn't cause my friend to close his eyes and whisper my name in gratitude. It was just a hamburger. The fries were plentiful and hot. There is still a sports bar soul here, sort of. Televisions glow and beer flows, albeit very VERY slowly. The menu stretches wide with wings, sandwiches, steaks, things for people who want something other than beef on a bun. It feels like a place that knows how to feed a crowd after a Little League game or a retirement home on an afternoon outing. The service was friendly in the way a distracted and rarely seen cousin is friendly at Thanksgiving. Smiles, sure. Refills, eventually. Our server moved with the gentle chaos of someone juggling too many plates and not enough time or help. Nothing disastrous happened. Nothing especially polished happened either. We waited, ee watched and we ate. When my friend took a bite,he nodded politely. He said, "It's good." This is not what he said all those years ago in Chambersburg when grease ran down his wrist and he declared it the best burger in the state with the certainty of Biff Tannen with a Sports Almanac in his back pocket. Restaurants age and legends settle into routine. Rossi's feels like it is living comfortably on stories of past glory. There is nothing wrong with the food, but there is nothing thrilling about it either. If you are nearby and hungry, you'll be fed and you'll leave full. If you're chasing a memory, you may just find that memory tastes better than the present.

I asked for the lettuce, tomato and onion on the side. I also got cheese on the burger, which i believe was white American. Rossi's is an area institution. In Trenton from 1933-2014 and then in Mercerville for the past 11 years. It has tons of old photos on th wall of the OG Rossi's and the people that ate there, like Joe DiMaggio. It was huge space with a bar, tables and booths. With the girth of the burger and at the price (May 2025, $16.68 with tax), it should have been presented with fries or a side salad, not just a la carte. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan!

This outpost operates out of the Robbinsville Friendly's, and when my 7 and 10 year old sons heard about it, I was obliged to order. They both ordered a Chandler Style burger, which is two smashed crispy beef patties with house seasoning, served plain with American cheese on a bun. Adding ketchup and mustard costs you a quarter each, as did adding lettuce (which resulted in one pathetic leaf on the bottom bun). Both of them loved them. I ordered the Beast Style Double Burger: two smashed crispy beef patties with house seasoning, American cheese, pickles, diced white onion, mayo, ketchup, and brown mustard on a soft roll. The burger very much reminded me of those at Smashburger, and while I wouldn't necessarily call them crispy, they weren't of the thick n' juicy variety, either. Unlike the Chandler Burgers, the condiments were applied liberally on my burger, and I was pretty pleased with my choice, although I don't think it was quite worth the $9.49 price point. Same goes for my "Sapnap Spicy Fries." I can't lie, they were delicious, a gross-looking yet mouth-watering combination of cheese sauce, caramelized onions, jalapeños, bacon, avocado and chipotle mayo served over seasoned crinkle fries. That said, $7.99 was a bit steep for what was in the box. Besides the high price point, they also forgot an order or crinkle fries for the boys and a cookie, so knock it down a star for order accuracy. All in all, I was pretty happy with the food, but unfortunately due to the price, this will probably be a one and done; I'd much rather have some Five Guys and an extra $20 in my pocket after family dinner.

They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy.
