Major points for staying open until midnight! Great spot to grab milk, ice cream or other essentials. When I visited around 10:30 on a recent weeknight, the atmosphere was chill with folks relaxing after their restaurant shifts enjoying ice cream at the booths and service was quick to checkout. Easy parking, well lit in the evening and overall just a nice experience. Of course, expect the usual convenience store mark up for essentials, but being open until midnight is just so, well, convenient! Especially for us night owls! read more

I LOVE Stewart's and I am definitely in atleast one Stewart's every week. this one is closest to my house so probably the one I frequent most.. I never write bad reviews about places I go to often but this is the third time I've gone in with my toddler to grab a few things and they see me kind of struggling with everything in my hand plus my baby and they'll ring me up and have me pay but will run to the other register to cash someone else out.. sometimes I'll be paying cash and they just assume I'm paying with my card. I get trying to multi task but tonight there was literally one person other than me cashing out and I'm standing there waiting for her to come ask if I need a bag (I did) and she spent so much time with another customer that I just did my best and walked out with all my stuff hoping I didn't drop it. the third time this has happened, the one girl is super rude all the time to me and I'm just trying to live my life lol I have a daughter I'm a single mom and wanted to get some milk and a few things and when I do finally get her attention to get a bag i literally get an eye roll and it's an inconvenienc. no wonder Stewart's is always hiring. everyone seems to hate their job read more

So... this is the second Stewart's Shops I have visited. The layout was exactly the same as the previos one I went to. Hence, this is pretty much the same review as we had the same order here. (creature of habit.) Wow. For a gas station, There is quite an ice cream store here. We're in Plattsburgh for the evening and my wife suggested we go to Stewarts for some dessert. Just a few minutes from the hotel, and we were off. Took a look at their very extensive ice cream menu and went with the easy choice. A double scoop of maple walnut. My wife had the brownie-cookie sundae. Each was delicious. This easily could be the best maple walnut ice cream ever. Plenty of maple taste and lots of walnuts. This was one good ice cream cone. My wife really enjoyed her sundae too. They have an extremely friendly-cordial team here which always helps the experience. Prices were very reasonable too. We needed to get some ice cream for the kids, and while their selection was decent, it seemed much smaller than what I remember as a kid. This location had free air, in a convenient spot, but I didn't see any EV chargers. It was well staffed, and helped wanted signs with salary ranges displayed. The store was clean, but the hot food section seemed lacking. Quite likely it's because it's after six, so not too upset about it. Overall, it's a convenient, larger, Stewart's. read more

Our shop is Rensselaer # 262.. first we had an employee issue and now my Gf got stung by one of the bees or wasps that are constantly in the store. I think this store is beinvg poorly managed. For now, I think I will stop going to the shop.. even if my Gf doesn't. We spend alot of money at many of our visits and she was recently quesioned about her shopping as if she was stealing. read more

This gas station was on the way from downtown Albany to the Albany airport and that made it a convenient stop to fill up the rental car before returning it. There are only a couple of pumps here and limited cover so it's not an ideal stop in poor weather. But the lot was clean, the receipt printer worked and it was an A-OK fill up. They recently upgraded their store by bulldozing the old location and installing a brand new, larger building next door. Then, they redid the pumps. This seems to be a trend with Stewart's I believe to compete with Cumberland Farms. The area inside is more spacious but I don't see a lot of new items that weren't in the previous one. However, if they are trying to make it a "destination" to go to and order coffee, ice cream, a hot dog, or something else and sit inside and read the paper they are succeeding. I came because I wanted something on Christmas and the regular places were closed. Like they should be on a holiday. But, this place was open and the cashier inside was friendly and rocking out a sweater that said "Holiday Cheer" as loud as possible (perhaps a contender for the ugly sweater award?). Getting in and out on the busy corner is still dependent on hitting the right break in the traffic, but the store is certainly a (needed?) upgrade. As is my review. read more

Is it unfair to hold an establishment's customers against it? I don't dislike Stewart's Shops themselves. They're convenient when you need a few quick items like milk or a newspaper or a quick cup of coffee. And they make delicious (and well-priced) milkshakes. I even kind of like their cheesy ice cream flavor names such as "Crumbs along the Mohawk." I do, however, take issue with their customers. Stewart's Shops are almost always hotbeds for playing the lotto, making them seem like some sort of weird convenient store/casino comination. Any time I venture in, there are always several people purchasing lotto tickets and scratch-off lottery tickets. Sometimes I think maybe Stewart's shops should all have a counter/check-out specifically devoted to lottery tickets. When I just want to get my gas or milk and go, lottery tickets often prove to be the bane of my existence. Shouldn't there be a rule against selling lottery tickets between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. when people are commuting to work? I once made the mistake of stopping to get gas at a Stewart's one morning while en route to work. Of course, I got stuck behind someone purchasing at least ten scratch-off lottery tickets. And then, to my enhanced horror, the customer proceeded to begin scratching off the tickets AT THE COUNTER. The clerk eventually noticed the horrified look on my face and somehow got the customer to move over just enough for me to pay. I vowed never again to stop at a Stewart's if I was in a rush. Unfortunately, that avowal has survived about as well as all of my other self-imposed policies. And one more complaint - when is Stewart's going to get hip to technology and install a pay-at-the-pump system? Honestly, that would make getting gas here sooo much more appealing. read more

Insufferably rude at this location. Clerk is on the phone the whole time I'm there. I go up to pay for my items and she just walks away. She's the only clerk there. I have money in my hand that I want to give to her! She just glides past me mumbling something about a phone call and heads to the back. Well, I can walk away, too. So I did, and I won't be coming back here ever again. read more
