I've never been to Stewart's, but heard nothing but good things. One of my friends RAVE over their eggnog so today was the day I finally try it . I was visiting fishkill for 2 days and upon my departure back home I stopped at Stewart's shop. Stewart's makes their own brand of EVERYTHING on their store. They sell a wide variety of milk, ice cream , donuts etc. The store was a good size and even had seats inside where you can dine in, and enjoy a bite to eat . I was looking for the carton of eggnog, unfortunately they were sold out so I opted for the bottle eggnog (I believe is just as good). I purchased 4 of their bottled eggnog , and a waffle cone with their civility (hope I spelled it right lol) ice cream. The ice cream was vanilla with salted caramel swirls and it was oh so YUMMY and thick , and satisfied my sweet tooth. I highly recommend their eggnog. It's home made, thick , and full of flavor . I thoroughly enjoyed both ice cream and eggnog . I'm so glad I got to FINALLY try Stewart's shop and it did not disappoint. When I'm back in town Stewart's is on my list to revisit. Eggnog's were $2.39 per bottle and ice cream with waffle cone was about $2.25 (as waffle cones are $1 off this week for New Year's. read more

I stopped by here for a treat after biking on a nearby rail trail. The staff was super friendly and offered ice cream samples. There were about 30+ standard flavors to choose from and seasonal ones as well. I tried a few different flavors and settled on the Campfire S'moreo. It was the perfect combination of Oreos and s'mores in an ice cream form. Texture of the ice cream was not too heavy or light. Stewart's has a loyalty punch card where you can get a free ice cream after buying 10. I had a single scoop ($2.69) this time, but would return to try a float or sundae. read more

We are isolating before Thanksgiving so we can safely be with family and I had a couple of last-minute groceries I needed. Although there's no mention of curbside delivery on the website or anything like that, I called the store and everyone I spoke with was incredibly nice and accommodating. We've lived in Dutchess County for 15 years, but didn't know about Stewart's convenience stores until we we were out antiquing with some friends about 10 or so years ago. We were in a small town and asked a local shop keeper where the best ice cream could be had. Without hesitation they said "Stewart's, up the street". We all trooped into the store and ordered our flavor. Let me tell you, I ordered the Butter Pecan and I was SOLD. It was the freshest tasting BP I had ever tasted. You know the sometimes, when you get BP the nuts have a strange musty taste. Not from Stewart's. This was the BEST I have ever tasted. This is true of all the flavors my wife and I have tasted from Stewart's. AND, their bulk ice cream comes in FULL HALF GALLONS, not those scrimpy 48 ounce containers. They have sales every week where selected bulk ice cream containers are 25% off. Sometimes, the entire range is on sale. They also sell their ice cream by the scoop, like Joe's across the street. But, that's where the similarity ends. I'd rather go into Stewart's, avoid the LOOOONG line, and get FRESH ice cream made in upstate New York by Stewart's. I have been a semi-regular here for a few years now (and occasional customer years before moving out of the area for a bit) and never had a problem with their products or service. Sensibly, (and in compliance with state law) they have a clearly written sign on the door that states "No Mask, No Service" but that sign is worthless if the employees can't be bothered to enforce it. Two separate customers in front of me were served despite the fact that they had their masks worthlessly not covering their noses. That's about as effective as them wearing the mask around their arm. This isn't the first time I've been in there where the employees turned a blind eye to customers not wearing masks (or, not wearing them effectively) but this was one time too many for me and I won't be shopping there anymore. read more
