    Me on the way in

The food was just okay, nothing special or nothing stood out to me. It was a limited menu as I was a guest at pre-planned dinner menu. Shrimo had a good taste but should have been warmer than presented. The steak was just so-so and again should have been a warmer temperature than presented. Tbe greens were descent but bitter and I could not get over all the stems. The lentil stew was salty to me and I was I unable to really enjoy it. I am not a fan of chocolate covered strawberries so I passed on them and the cheesecake seems store bought bites and just okay. Service was actually pretty good considering we were a party of 15+ and one server, I believe the owner but don't quote me. He was very personable and a great host. He made sure we were taken care of with a smile. Overall ambiance was nice and definitely a place to try.

Jorge was lovely! He has explained the selected menu items. He made sure we had everything we needed!! Honestly, the house sauce isn't needed because the food is seasons to perfection! The steak and Chicken kabobs are perfect. The salad has a perfectly blended house lemon vinegarette. The season fries and rosemary fries are well fried. I'll certainly be back.

I'm pretty neutral about this place. I cannot say I wouldn't go again but I also cannot say I would. Visually, there's a beautiful painting on the wall but all else is pretty basic. The service was good. Overall, the staff was attentive considering the big party. The food was seasoned well. I had chicken that did have a good taste. I also liked the fries alot. If you're looking for somewhere just to grab something outside of the normal burgers and chicken tenders but not too upscale, I woulf recommend here.

Super yummy and fresh. I had the veggie platter, everything was so flavorful and delicious. Hubby had the brisket special. The brisket was tender, moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. He had the cabbage and seasoned fries. Both were so good. The server made us feel very welcome. We loved the colorful mural. Looking forward to going back and having the lamb shank.

Stopped here because it's a DDD. I was a little worried because this didn't sound like something I'd like but I was very wrong. It was delicious. I had chicken and shrimp with rice and salad.

What a quaint place with excellent food. I was a bit skeptical because we were the only people tbere but that meant attentive staff and piping hot food. We had kabobs (excellent), the kid had the wings (may be the best smoked wings, I have tasted in a long time).

$10 special wings and pick 2 sides, I really loved the flavors of the red lentils and cabbage.

We saw a $10 special advertised in the Daily Memphian so we checked it out. It was really delicious and worth it!! Jorge was very attentive and pleasant. We loved the cabbage, the lentils and for me the chicken wings. V got beef. Yum! Check it out!

Each time that I have visited Stick 'Em, I have had an awesome experience. The costumer service is consistently great. I think this is such a neat concept and the name is the perfect pun to name the restaurant as they serve kabobs. There are several kind to order including chicken, steak, shrimp, and tofu. You can choose from several sides including fries, mixed veggies, and more. Let me just tell you the fries are fire! The meat is always tender and juicy. They have a special sauce that compliments the flavor and tenderness of the meat. I have also tried the loaded nachos. They are amazing and plentiful. They are loaded with your meat of choice, cheese, pico, peppers, and more! Great spot in the heart of Midtown!

I had a great experience here. AND. You can get an all #keto or #vegan meal depending on your choices! Their to-go area is easily accessible. The staff is super nice and I will return for their food. With the skewer theme, you can choose your protein and then pick your veggies like a salad. You can combine a mixture of meat, poultry and/or seafood skewers. The mixed vegetables were delicious: broccoli and squash. I did get the half mixed vegetables/half fries. Shoot me. They were delicious too. I ask to be light on the salt overall. The seasoning of the food is what makes it really good and I love that the chicken is tender. They have tofu. So you can get tofu, a salad and mixed vegetables. They have local beer on tap and I am told it goes well with their huge snapper meal. The seating is not only socially distant, it's pleasing to the eye and a great place for groups. Good luck with parking on a busy night. Worth the walk though. Check it out!

Full disclaimer: My first patronage of this restaurant is thanks to a YES perk. The YES squad had the absolute pleasure of getting to try this restaurant as they're opening to the public. I wasn't sure what to expect but, if I could have used my husband's pass to go back for more, I sure would have! As part of the event, we had the choice of 2 beef skewers, 2 shrimp skewers, or one of each. One to avoid missing an experience, I opted to get one of each. Pretending to behave myself, I ordered the vegetables as a side. When the food came out, it took everything in me to not shove it into my face like a Neanderthal The smells were scrumptious. The appearance was appetizing. And when I finally ate it? They have a new fan!

Honestly an underrated spot. Glad it's not busy but it really needs more recognition. Definitely a new spot.

One suggestion: the front patio could really benefit from some music. Even a low-volume speaker tied into the DJ's system would help create the same experience outside without disturbing the neighborhood. The biggest challenge is parking. Street parking is risky, and several visitors have learned the hard way that tickets are easy to get. Save yourself the headache and use the parking garage across the street for about $4. It's worth it compared to a $25 parking ticket. Unfortunately, service was the weakest part of the experience. The staff appeared overworked, overwhelmed, and likely short-staffed. While that is understandable, the customer experience suffered. There was very little interaction from greeters, servers, or bartenders. Guests are instructed to wait to be seated, but there was little guidance, communication, or assistance. Long waits and a lack of acknowledgment made the visit frustrating. Food was mixed. The wings and fries were excellent--so good they disappeared before there was time to take a picture. The spring rolls, however, were under-seasoned, slightly overcooked, and only two come with an order, which felt disappointing for the price. The dipping sauces helped, but the filling could have used more flavor. The standout of the night was the Smash It cocktail. Made with Suntory Toki whiskey, basil, lemon, simple syrup, and an absinthe rinse, it was refreshing, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Easily the highlight of the visit. Would I return? Yes. But next time I'll go with adjusted expectations: eat beforehand, enjoy the atmosphere, grab a cocktail, and consider anything else a bonus. Pro Tips: Order the Smash It cocktail. The wings and fries are worth trying. Park in the garage across the street. Don't expect fast service during busy times. If you're hungry, have a snack before you arrive. Great atmosphere and cocktails, but service and parking keep it from reaching its full potential. With better staffing and a little more attention to guests, this place could easily be a 5-star experience.

A prime location for a prime steakhouse. The service was strong as was the pacing. I found the server a bit too eager to explain the restaurant and the menu. I'm a ribeye eater so I had a pretty good idea I was getting a ribeye before I went in. I think the talking is used as a way to upsell and push guests towards opaquely priced off-menu "specials" which from my understanding are always on offer (such as their deviled eggs and bone marrow sauce). We started with the beef tartare and duck ravioli. I preferred the tartare, which had a nice spicy seasoning throughout. The duck ravioli had an excellent sauce on it, too. For our mains, I got the prime boneless ribeye ($68) and my brother got the prime strip ($56). We also shared the Yume A5 Wagyu experience ($225), letting us try three different cuts of Wagyu side by side. For sides (about $15/each), we did the fontina potatoes, truffle honey tots, and carrots. We also added the gulf prawns ($21), foie gras ($14), and bone marrow sauce (~$20) which was prepared table side and was plenty to share. It was very rich and peppery, though a bit of a salt bomb. For dessert, we shared the French toast bread pudding with maple butter ($14) which is one of my favorite bread puddings I've tried. They also brought my brother a dessert since it was his birthday, it was something like a raspberry mousse with coconut foam and a sharp raspberry sauce. Excellent. The Yume experience was a big motivation in coming here, as getting to try cuts of A5 Wagyu next to cuts of regular (albeit prime) beef is unique in the Memphis area and really for hours around. It was priced as an experience rather than a food item. It did not disappoint, nor did the prime steaks. The A5 is so unbelievably tender by comparison. My favorite was the ribeye, but I'm biased. My brother, normally a strip guy, agreed with me there. The potato sides were underwhelming, particularly for the price. I don't know how I let my brother talk me into buying him $15 tater tots for his birthday. I could get the carrots again, though. My total was $800 for the two of us for the above food, six cocktails, and tax and tip. A big chunk of that was the Yume experience as well as the drinks (we were celebrating!). If we were to go back, it would be closer to $350 for the two of us, and I would go for the prime ribeye with foie gras again, no need for Wagyu or sauce. I enjoy the sister restaurants in this restaurant group (Coastal Fish, Flight, Southern Social) and frankly I'd bet Porch is the cash cow of the group due to the relatively poor value proposition. We had a great experience exploring the finest steak and accompaniments one could wish for. But, for my money, Coastal does a pretty good steak too.

As a child I grew up on fried fish filets and hush puppies until my grandfather had to retire and sell his restaurant due to his Health. He still cooks up a mess of catfish for us about two or three times a year when we visit. Yum! My standards for good catfish are extremely high. Good fried catfish is not greasy, light cornmeal batter, tender flaky inside, and slightly crispy on the outside. Sounds simple enough but the truth of the matter is... Good fried catfish takes skill. After an epic searched for any decent catfish in Memphis and surrounding areas that took a few years ... My family and I decided to give up. And when I heard about Soul Fish it took some considerable convincing to get them to go. We where, none of us, disappointed! Soul Fish is without a doubt the best Catfish in Memphis. It is perfectly fried... Hushpuppies are tasty, coleslaw edible if not always yummy, fried pickles crisp and tart, pickle green tomatoes so yummy I could swim in them, and vegetables always cooked and seasons well (special recognition to the cabbage, broccoli, and black eyed peas). The service is always friendly, fast, efficient, and correct. The blackened catfish is pretty tasty too ... Sometimes they get a little heavy handed on the seasoning. Deserts are pretty great as well. My sister loves the Mississippi mud chocolate thingy they have (I'm not a chocolate fan). I've introduced many people (about 40 or so) to Soul Fish - locals and visitors alike - and no one ... And I mean not a single one of them where disappointed. So why four stars instead of five? True... the catfish is the best in Memphis - however it is not the best I've ever had. And Sometimes a filet or two at Soul Fish fall short of perfection... However ... I'm a regular and a fan of Soul Fish Cafe. If you have spent hours and disappointed meals trying to find good catfish in Memphis ... Look no further ... This is the place for you. I promise you will not Be disappointed!

Memphis is a slight detour on our way back to Texas, but there was no way we were settling for fast food along the highway. We wanted good seafood--fresh, satisfying, and worth the stop. So glad we chose this spot. From the outside, it's simple and unassuming. Inside, it feels like a slightly bougie fish cafe--clean, cozy, and well-kept, with subtle holiday decor and that warm Southern hospitality greeting you at the door. Our server, Denise, was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The one-page menu keeps it simple, and she walked us through it along with the daily special. We ordered the gumbo, salmon burger, and a grilled salmon plate--everything tasted fresh and cooked to order. A perfect seafood meal in Tennessee. We left full, happy, and already planning what to try next time. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.
