My observations alerted me to a communal yet cozy setting, with shared table and comfortable benches. This establishment feels magical to me. The floor is clean and the wooden tables and benches are inviting. I noticed that they have regular customers, as one after another, the customers were greeted by name with hugs and big smiles. Savanna (sic) greeted me and took my orders: small latte & ricotta + egg toast. My Ricotta + egg toast was delicious and the presentation was nicely done. The ingredients looked simple and the herbs tasted fresh and clean. The dish was perfectly seasoned. I tasted a little 'heat' at the back of my throat, but that's something I can handle. I even enjoyed the green sauce over the top. LOL! My order of latte was smooth and creamy. No sugar needed here. The creamy milk did its job. Savanna made my coffee after taking the order, and I complimented her on the delicious coffee. Would I go back? You betcha! And I'll bring my friends. Stopped by here as a recommendation from our Airbnb in the area. I got their seasonal drink which was a Sesame Latte. I don't think I could taste the sesame that much, but it was still good. For lunch, we ordered the Lox Toast and Za'atar Chicken Sandwich. I got a lightly dressed side salad added for $3. The Lox Toast was yummy. I was just a bit disappointed at the side salad. I don't think it was worth the $3 for a tiny box. The chicken sandwich was good and included chips. Not a bad place to stop by on the way to Yosemite. read more

Don't know why it's taken me so long to pay my first visit to Sticks, but I know it won't be my last. What a cute, inviting place! Plenty of seating inside, out front and around back in the garden courtyard chock full of flowers and other greenery. Super friendly and fast service. This coffee shop is slightly off the main road but a perfect place to pull into for coffee. I have been to Mariposa many times but this was my first time stopping for coffee and I am so glad I did. They have lots of yummy treats and bites available for purchase. The sourdough toast was very refreshing and would be perfect as pre hike fuel. Came up to Mariposa for a film and had to check out the local coffee spots and I'm so glad I stumbled upon Sticks. It's very cute on the inside, it keeps the woods and nature theme well for the town. The baristas were super friendly and explained their signature drinks to me. I ordered the happy camper latte on the first day, and it was amazing! Great blend of flavors. Definitely recommend that one. The second day I ordered the vanilla latte and it was also good, I did prefer happy camper though. I also ordered the orange pound cake, super yummy, the breakfast sammie and I took a bag of espresso beans home with me. I'll be honest I did not like the breakfast sammie, I learned I do not like pesto in the morning and slicing a hardboiled egg on the sandwich didn't let me have egg in every bite. In fact I only got egg in my last few bites. But I'm still giving this spot a 5 because the coffee was amazing and I loved the atmosphere here. Definitely recommend! read more

Excellent breakfast option in Mariposa! I had their delicious breakfast sammie and lovely Happy Camper latte - everything was SO good - service was friendly and prices were decent too. The breakfast sammie is eggs, bacon, cheese, and avocado with an unexpected but fantastic bit of pickled peppers for a delightful little kick. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in California and would definitely recommend! And how could I resist their Happy Camper Latte? Anyone that knows me knows I love all things marshmallow and this was phenomenal! It's basically a s'mores flavored latte that comes topped with two giant, perfectly toasted marshmallows. I got it iced - the coffee was smooth and it was surprisingly not overly sweet - It was heavenly! I loved their location too - the little town of Mariposa is very walkable and Sticks is located right at the entrance of the cute River Rock Inn. They had a cozy ambiance with plenty of inside seating as well as a few outside tables surrounded by plants and flowers with views of the town. If you're staying at the River Rock Inn, you get 20% off your breakfast from 7-10am as well so that's pretty cool! I stayed nearby while visiting Yosemite but would consider staying here next time - and will definitely be back for breakfast next time I'm in town! read more

We opted for a sit down breakfast to round off our last day of adventures at Yosemite. Based on my airbnb host's recommendation, we checked out Sticks Coffee. Upon walking in, I was immediately reminded of the coffee shops back in Austin. It just felt like such an authentic place where the people really care about their coffee. For food, we got the Lox and breakfast sammie - both very solid and filling choices. I wanted to stick with their classics so I got a Sticks latte with oat milk and boy is the coffee delicious. It was perfectly sweet and creamy, not too bitter or watered down like I'm afraid my lattes usually are. There were also 2 adorable ol' tuxedo cats roaming around and laying near the tables outside, both very chill and unbothered. read more

I'd made prefatory notes of its laudatory reviews so made a beeline there. Delicious food, especially the savory Sammie, and pleasant staff who must engage with Yosemite-goers on a daily basis. Loved the two resident tuxedo cats who benefited from my bag of animal treats. Full espresso machine, so the coffee is good and they have dairy free milk. Avocado toast can be made vegan. Breakfast Sammy was very good. I was in Mariposa for a work meeting and stopped by this location to fuel up on caffeine before my meeting. Located on a hill to the east of the main road, and connected to a hotel, this place isn't the easiest to find. It does have parking on the street that is marked as 'for hotel guests only.' Since the cafe is connected to the hotel, does that mean you can park there? Regardless, I played it safe and parked down the hill a bit in unmarked spaces. The cafe has a few options for indoor seating--some cozy bench seats along a window and other more private two seater options. The decor was autumnal with pumpkins and a few lush indoor plants. They have coffee beans and other items for sale, and have a few food items you can select to go with your coffee. I ended up asking for a double cappuccino to go, which came in what looks like an 8 oz cup, and I also ordered their avocado toast (on sourdough) with an egg (nicely sliced and fanned across the bread) and everything seasoning. The cappuccino came with some lovely foam art, and was perfectly balanced...with double shots-it was just as strong as I prefer. The avocado toast was hearty and a good value for what you got. The bread was a bit soggy--If I come again, I'll ask them to burn the toast (how I do it at home) or make it extra crispy. The avocado spread had a nice gentle tangy flavor--not too much--the egg was not over cooked, and the seasoning was just right. I had an enjoyable conversation with the staff members who were there, and did not have to wait too long for my food. I hear I just missed the morning rush though... If I'm in town again, this is definitely a place I'd stop by again. It is always nice to find local shops to support--and this one definitely has earned their favorable reputation! read more

Very charismatic barista taking our order and helping us thru the menu + offering recommendations. As a group we ordered the Happy Camper (which is pretty much a smores latte) and i got the crocus latte. All were sooo yummy and exactly as they were described. Love how the Happy Camper came with graham cracker crumble and roasted marshmallows. The sourdough croissant was also so delicious. As sourdough lovers, this was right up our alley. This is my favorite cafe in all of Mariposa! I travel out here for work every few months and I always make a point of coming here. I love the salmon toast and I always get a matcha. The food is so good and so is the matcha! I also find the price to be very agreeable. The baristas are really funny and nice and make just the right amount of conversation. It can get really busy in here depending on the season and time of day, but I've usually been able to get a seat by the time I get my order.the cafe is super cozy inside. I love Sticks!!! read more

I'll start with this, if you have social anxiety or look different, not at societal standard and you get the cashier who has light brown hair white women I am guessing, you may get a lid thrown at you. I don't blame her for her actions cause she doesn't know any better. When I go to new places I go to try new things and when she was constantly saying "is that it?" in an annoyed voice after every single thing I asked for knowing I was with 2 other people besides me plus someone who was waiting on us is so uncomfortable. I went up to order another latte before leaving and she seemed so bothered and once I got my latte she threw the lid on the counter towards me. I'm used to being treated with no respect because I'm not the societal norm but when it happens it's sad. I wonder if I was someone else ordering how she would've acted. Beyond that everyone else was great and the drinks and food were amazing! I wish we got the cashier with the red and black hair she was working while we were there and had so much patience, the people handing out the food were also kind. Sticks Coffee is a cute cafe that was bustling with people when my husband and I stopped by on a Saturday morning. There was a bit of a line when we walked in, but the line moved fast and we had ordered in no time. We ordered the vanilla lattes, in size small and large. The lady taking orders at the counter and the man making the coffees were both super friendly. The drinks were priced fairly and delicious! We both enjoyed our drinks and it was so nice sitting outside to enjoy the nice weather for a little bit. This place is ! I live in a big city and wasn't expecting to find such quality coffee in a teeny mountain town, but the drinks and the food are truly exceptional, as was the service. Regardless the service, I was super tired walking in, and accidentally ordered two large Sticks lattes when I meant to order the Happy Campers. The server saw the look on my face and immediately offered to redo the drinks, even though it was 100% my fault. It felt like the sort of kindness that changes the course of your day! Even as someone who hates black liquorish I am a fan. They also have tonic coffee which is earthy and sweet. They have a brunch/ breakfast menu. I highly recommend stoping here.
