Was in town for Yosemite trip. Stopped by for breakfast. The breakfast sandwich was so good and portion was good. The coffee was tasty. The spot is so cute, the artwork was cute. service was good and the girls were so nice the food and drink came out fast

This coffee shop is slightly off the main road but a perfect place to pull into for coffee. I have been to Mariposa many times but this was my first time stopping for coffee and I am so glad I did. They have lots of yummy treats and bites available for purchase. The sourdough toast was very refreshing and would be perfect as pre hike fuel. The service is very fast and the bright and airy shop is perfect for indoor or outdoor eating.

Came up to Mariposa for a film and had to check out the local coffee spots and I'm so glad I stumbled upon Sticks. It's very cute on the inside, it keeps the woods and nature theme well for the town. The baristas were super friendly and explained their signature drinks to me. I ordered the happy camper latte on the first day, and it was amazing! Great blend of flavors. Definitely recommend that one. The second day I ordered the vanilla latte and it was also good, I did prefer happy camper though. I also ordered the orange pound cake, super yummy, the breakfast sammie and I took a bag of espresso beans home with me. I'll be honest I did not like the breakfast sammie, I learned I do not like pesto in the morning and slicing a hardboiled egg on the sandwich didn't let me have egg in every bite. In fact I only got egg in my last few bites. But I'm still giving this spot a 5 because the coffee was amazing and I loved the atmosphere here. Definitely recommend!

Happy Camper Latte - s'mores inspired with giant toasted marshmallows on top!! Heaven itself!!

Excellent breakfast option in Mariposa! I had their delicious breakfast sammie and lovely Happy Camper latte - everything was SO good - service was friendly and prices were decent too. The breakfast sammie is eggs, bacon, cheese, and avocado with an unexpected but fantastic bit of pickled peppers for a delightful little kick. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in California and would definitely recommend! And how could I resist their Happy Camper Latte? Anyone that knows me knows I love all things marshmallow and this was phenomenal! It's basically a s'mores flavored latte that comes topped with two giant, perfectly toasted marshmallows. I got it iced - the coffee was smooth and it was surprisingly not overly sweet - It was heavenly! I loved their location too - the little town of Mariposa is very walkable and Sticks is located right at the entrance of the cute River Rock Inn. They had a cozy ambiance with plenty of inside seating as well as a few outside tables surrounded by plants and flowers with views of the town. If you're staying at the River Rock Inn, you get 20% off your breakfast from 7-10am as well so that's pretty cool! I stayed nearby while visiting Yosemite but would consider staying here next time - and will definitely be back for breakfast next time I'm in town!

This coffee shop is absolutely amazing! The friendliest staff, the most delicious latte, the sandwiches were awesome (and they accommodated my veggie girl needs), and the vibes were just so charming and delightful. We will for sure stop by next time we travel through!

We opted for a sit down breakfast to round off our last day of adventures at Yosemite. Based on my airbnb host's recommendation, we checked out Sticks Coffee. Upon walking in, I was immediately reminded of the coffee shops back in Austin. It just felt like such an authentic place where the people really care about their coffee. For food, we got the Lox and breakfast sammie - both very solid and filling choices. I wanted to stick with their classics so I got a Sticks latte with oat milk and boy is the coffee delicious. It was perfectly sweet and creamy, not too bitter or watered down like I'm afraid my lattes usually are. There were also 2 adorable ol' tuxedo cats roaming around and laying near the tables outside, both very chill and unbothered.

Delightfully fresh sandwiches, the za'atar chicken sandwich had an herby sauce that resembles rolling around in the herb garden. The breakfast Sammy on the toasted focaccia was light and tasty complemented perfectly with a strong coffee and sulfuric hard boiled egg. The food came quick and the outdoor area was remarkable, built around a gorgeous lodgepole pine with a view of the mountains.

Breakfasted at Sticks several times with husband and pooch during this week's stay at Wildhaven Yosemite glamping down the road. I'd made prefatory notes of its laudatory reviews so made a beeline there. Delicious food, especially the savory Sammie, and pleasant staff who must engage with Yosemite-goers on a daily basis. Loved the two resident tuxedo cats who benefited from my bag of animal treats. They should highlight their breakfast offerings better on site since I had to reread Yelp and its reference to their custom sandwich in order to order it on the return visit.

Good breakfast and good coffee. They don't jedne mamy options to choose from for breakfast but you can still find something. Full espresso machine, so the coffee is good and they have dairy free milk. Avocado toast can be made vegan. Breakfast Sammy was very good. It's a small cafe, so they don't have many sitting options, the lines could be a little long so you may have issues with having a place to sit.

I was in Mariposa for a work meeting and stopped by this location to fuel up on caffeine before my meeting. Located on a hill to the east of the main road, and connected to a hotel, this place isn't the easiest to find. It does have parking on the street that is marked as 'for hotel guests only.' Since the cafe is connected to the hotel, does that mean you can park there? Regardless, I played it safe and parked down the hill a bit in unmarked spaces. The cafe has a few options for indoor seating--some cozy bench seats along a window and other more private two seater options. The decor was autumnal with pumpkins and a few lush indoor plants. They have coffee beans and other items for sale, and have a few food items you can select to go with your coffee. I ended up asking for a double cappuccino to go, which came in what looks like an 8 oz cup, and I also ordered their avocado toast (on sourdough) with an egg (nicely sliced and fanned across the bread) and everything seasoning. The cappuccino came with some lovely foam art, and was perfectly balanced...with double shots-it was just as strong as I prefer. The avocado toast was hearty and a good value for what you got. The bread was a bit soggy--If I come again, I'll ask them to burn the toast (how I do it at home) or make it extra crispy. The avocado spread had a nice gentle tangy flavor--not too much--the egg was not over cooked, and the seasoning was just right. I had an enjoyable conversation with the staff members who were there, and did not have to wait too long for my food. I hear I just missed the morning rush though... If I'm in town again, this is definitely a place I'd stop by again. It is always nice to find local shops to support--and this one definitely has earned their favorable reputation!

Sticks Coffee will remain my #1 in Mariposa. The baristas there recognize me for bringing a giant box of Crispix cereal my first visit. They're the coffee shop when you think "cute coffee shop". I haven't had a bad meal here!

On our way to Yosemite we made a pit stop. Loved the breakfast sammie so much we had to stopped by on our way back and I got a sweatshirt

We parked right at the front with the gravel and got our names put down for two people. The hostess was very nice and gave us a buzzer for when our table would be ready. It took no more than 5 minutes before it buzzed and we got in. The restaurant itself is very cozy and decorated well. We sat at a table that used hanging doors as dividers, which we thought was a neat idea. The lighting was nice, not too bright but also not super dim. Our server told us about some specials and also recommended a few different meals. We took up her offer on fries and went with that. Even though it technically was a shareable, it was a huge serving! The fries were perfectly crunchy with a soft interior. The steak was also really juicy and tender, not too chewy at all. The sauces and cheese mixed in with the fries were also the perfect balance of salty, crunchy goodness. The salmon was deliciously soft and moist. They paired very nicely with the creamy mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. We worked together to just barely finished the salmon and take most of the steak and fries home for leftovers. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend this spot! The quality and amount of food makes the price worth it. If we're ever visiting the area again, we'll definitely stop by 1850!

CinnamonRoll Bakery Café, Mariposa: 2026 Apr 1 (4.25 of 5)…read more My appointment in Mariposa ended early enough for me to check out several of the eateries in Mariposa. I decided to visit CinnamonRoll Bakery Café on 5th Street. This place was easy to find - on a side street right off the main stretch. Parking: Parking close to the eatery was a bear. I had to drive down the slope and up again, and finally found parking on the main street. Parking is free so that's a plus. (3.75 of 5) Storefront: The storefront speaks for itself - Cinnamon Rolls. It shows you what their specialty is. One table with a couple of chairs was placed right before you enter the shop. I thought that was cute. (4 of 5) Interior: Inside is open and clean. There are lots of artwork and trinkets to check out while you're waiting for your food. A tiny stage-like platform stood in one corner. I'm guessing they have life music on certain days. There is also a stairway that leads to upstairs seating but I did not check that out. (4 of 5) Service: I find the service encompasses a customer's experience - the greeting was warm and friendly. Placing my order was easy. Fyi, you get a discount for paying in cash. (5 of 5) Food: My order of two cinnamon rolls looked appetizing. When I got home - about 45-minutes later, the rolls were still intact. The spiral shape rolls maintained its shape. Both the rolls are pillowy, soft, and buttery in texture, and not overly sweet. Personally, I prefer the roll topped with nuts but without the glaze. The nuts tasted fresh and crunchy. Overall, these rolls were a 4.5 of 5. I was taking some snapshots outside when one of the staff walked out. I asked if I could take an image of him outside the store for social media. He said I could. His name is Burke (sic).

Our bartender forgot our wine order entirely, then forgot water, silverware, and napkins--multiple reminders were needed while our food arrived and sat in front of us. Very disappointing for a local spot I've supported in the past.

Hubs had the prime rib, he said it was one of the best ones he had in a long times he had the clam chowder to start and it was super tasty!!! Glad we had my birthday meal here!

Charles Street Dinner House, Mariposa: 2026 Mar 12 (4 of 5)…read more Let me start off by saying that we were extremely pleased with the service, thanks to Dillon (who showed genuine rapport), Tomben (his honest opinions) and Amya (who brought me piping hot water in a beautiful mug and teapot). Their friendly, yet professional attitude make this eatery stand out. (5 of 5) This eatery has a vintage feel and historical charm. We felt we could really relax and take our time instead of being rushed to order, eat, then leave. The atmosphere feels rustic, exposing the past. It was a time capsule for folks who enjoyed that era. FOOD: Sauteed Mushroom Soup: The soup arrived with garlic bread. The soup had an earthy, savoury and nutty texture. The rich, velvety mushrooms were bouncy and cooked well, while the umami-packed broth felt comforting. The garlic bread that accompanied the mushroom soup had a perfect balance of textures - heavily buttered, with savoury garlic flavour. The golden-brown, crispy exterior was not overly toasted and the sticks were enhanced with a touch of herbal flavour. (5 of 5) New Zealand Rack of Lamb: This was my order - cooked medium-rare. The perfectly cooked meat was tender - unfortunately lacked seasoning, but a dash of salt brought this to a perfect 5. (5 of 5) I had a choice of potatoes or rice pilaf and made a wrong decision. The rice pilaf looked like baby food, and the fresh red pepper over-powered the entire dish. I tried a small scoop and was disappointed. Needless to say, I couldn't eat another bite of the rice. (1 of 5) My vegetables were mostly cooked well. They had a bit of crunch and texture but not raw. My dinner came with Tomato Soup. The soup tasted nutty and lemony, with a slight heat - and has a good aftertaste. It was silky and smooth, rich, and velvety. (5 of 5) Scallone: Our other order came with onion soup. My dinner partner had the privilege of tasting one of the best scallone years ago and was hoping to bring back great memories of this special dish he loved. This marriage of blending ground abalone and scallops is a savoury dish formed into patties. It is then breaded and lightly pan-fried in butter. The texture is supposed to be tender yet firm. The temperature was perfect but the patty came out almost like a regular pancake. A chunk of fresh red pepper was also thrown in, perhaps for colour, but it overpowered the dish. The pilaf rice was also a no-no. When the server came and asked how we enjoyed the dishes, I had to be blunt and said, "I didn't like the rice". Our server apologized and immediately offered to remove the rice on both plates and asked if we'd like potatoes instead. My partner opted for the baked potato. (5 of 5) The onion soup that accompanied this order was also a fail. Overall, this dinner was a 2 of 5. We were there to celebrate my birthday, so for dessert, we got Coconut Crème Brulee. Even though it wasn't cooked evenly, the light flavour of the coconut did not take over the mild flavour of the crème brulee. A lovely ending to an interesting dinner... and the crème brulee was a birthday treat, on the house. (4 of 5) Would we return? I think we would. I'd like to try other items on the menu because we feel it our privilege to have met some of the nicest staff in an eatery.
