This place really doesn't look like much and is kind of hidden, but what a hidden gem it is! The decor gives off a country homey vibe, and the food just matches the vibe! The staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile. It is a small place and is almost always crowded when we arrive, but we've never waited too long. I highly recommend this place for breakfast! Can't wait for my next visit!!

    Pretty much says it all.

This place won't be for everyone as they are pro gun and very pro America, but we love it. I'll post some of their signs as it says it all. This is a wonderful fun place. We were there Sunday morning and all the locals were in. As we were leaving a couple were setting up their parcheesi game. The staff is top notch. They enjoy having fun with the customers, but if you don't want that, they leave you alone. My husband had the corn beef and you have a choice of home made or out of a can. He likes our home made, but usually goes for out of the can at restaurants. Everything was as ordered. I had the traditional eggs Benedict. Didn't want the potatoes so she gave me a lovely bowl of fresh fruit and beautiful sliced tomatoes. Everything was wonderful. For some reason we thought the entrance was at the back. Oops. It's behind or next to the Valero gas station. It's not JUST A CAFE!

This place was an unexpected, well deserved place to go to to eat breakfast. Biscuits and gravy were so genuine and fluffy. The country style patsies has a flavor of being cooked with corizo well being firm still and presentable. And the one sunny side egg up was on point and not over cooked or under easy. For a restaurant being in the Mariposa county, you really can't ask for more, after eating here at this place that's been here for decades. Being known for "Pops Cafe" and than being switched to a whole nother name. It still holds its merit when it comes down to its culinary value. On point and would recommend this place a go to if your in Mariposa county. Stop messing with eating downtown, when you can drive an extra 10 minutes away. For a meal that satifying and well worth the cost.

Found this on Mariposa chamber of commerce explore Mariposa itinerary #8 off the beaten path! It's located in the Valero gas station and is where the locals go! We laughed at the signs and loved the food and photos on display! Highly recommend

    Exterior, A Bit Rough

Hadn't eaten there in about 1.5 years. It used to be great! Great food (rare around here) large portions, fair prices and good service. Now the food is mediocre, prices are almost double, you get 1/2 the amount of food (1/3 the fries), and experienced/ attentive waitresses are gone. The burgers used to be the best, they are definitely using a cheaper patty now. I brought the rock hard sandwich bread to waitresses' attention and I got 10% off of my bill (I wasn't looking for a discount). The bill was over $50 for lunch for 2 and a kids meal (sandwich, burger and kids frozen chicken tenders). I left the discount as a tip and won't be back. Business will definitely suffer. Sad, I used to enjoy this place.

We happened upon this out of the way place because we were staying in a rental house close by. We loved it! Alll 4 of us had some sort of burger and they were all excellent - large and juicy and cooked perfectly. Their side of onion rings were cooked perfectly too and the bacon in the burger was thick and tasty. We stood out because the place was full of locals - our waiter commented that we must not be from around there - and as a result they treated us extra special. The owner even sat with us for a few minutes to welcome us and tell us jokes. And they treated me to a very yummy cheesecake birthday surprise (much better than the yucky dried birthday cupcake I got at the very expensive Awahnee hotel). If was a great meal and fun experiencre - highly recommended if you are in Mariposa. Thanks

Sticks Coffee, Mariposa: 2026 May 19 (5 of 5)…read more Tucked behind tall shrubs along a short alleyway is a secret door to a little coffee shop. My observations alerted me to a communal yet cozy setting, with shared table and comfortable benches. This establishment feels magical to me. The floor is clean and the wooden tables and benches are inviting. I noticed that they have regular customers, as one after another, the customers were greeted by name with hugs and big smiles. Savanna (sic) greeted me and took my orders: small latte & ricotta + egg toast. My Ricotta + egg toast was delicious and the presentation was nicely done. The ingredients looked simple and the herbs tasted fresh and clean. The dish was perfectly seasoned. I tasted a little 'heat' at the back of my throat, but that's something I can handle. I even enjoyed the green sauce over the top. LOL! My order of latte was smooth and creamy. No sugar needed here. The creamy milk did its job. Savanna made my coffee after taking the order, and I complimented her on the delicious coffee. Would I go back? You betcha! And I'll bring my friends. Note: There's seating outdoors as well for those who bring their four-legged family members

Cute breakfast spot with must-order cinnamon rolls!…read more I stopped by here with my husband on the way home from our Yosemite trip. We found parking across the street. Inside, you're greeted with the delicious smell of their cinnamon rolls and a bright, cozy atmosphere. Here's what we ordered: * Almond butter toast with bananas and chia seeds, $7.70 - I didn't try it, but my husband enjoyed it. He said it was filling and tasty. * Chia pudding, $9.60 - Loose texture but big serving. Not bad. Good if you're craving something lighter to eat for breakfast. * Smoothie, $7.70 - Tasted like it had real fruit, but tasted a little watered down. * The works cinnamon roll, $11.50 - So delicious! Fluffy, sweet, and served warm. * Acai bowl/smoothie bowl, $9.60 - Large bowl with a good amount of acai sorbet. I enjoyed it. * Black coffee, $2.90 - Perfect paired with the cinnamon roll. Was served hot but not too hot. * Orange almond pastry of the day, $3.90 - Not too sweet and had a nice orange touch, but wish it was more flaky like a scone. I found it a little dense. After tax and tip, we paid a total of $63.53. Although there were some parts of the food we ordered that we didn't enjoy, overall we did enjoy our meal. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Seating was comfortable and there was a nice clean bathroom in the back. Looking at the local art for sale was fun too. I would give a rating of 4.5 but rounded up to 5 stars. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area! Get the cinnamon roll!

CinnamonRoll Bakery Café, Mariposa: 2026 Apr 1 (4.25 of 5)…read more My appointment in Mariposa ended early enough for me to check out several of the eateries in Mariposa. I decided to visit CinnamonRoll Bakery Café on 5th Street. This place was easy to find - on a side street right off the main stretch. Parking: Parking close to the eatery was a bear. I had to drive down the slope and up again, and finally found parking on the main street. Parking is free so that's a plus. (3.75 of 5) Storefront: The storefront speaks for itself - Cinnamon Rolls. It shows you what their specialty is. One table with a couple of chairs was placed right before you enter the shop. I thought that was cute. (4 of 5) Interior: Inside is open and clean. There are lots of artwork and trinkets to check out while you're waiting for your food. A tiny stage-like platform stood in one corner. I'm guessing they have life music on certain days. There is also a stairway that leads to upstairs seating but I did not check that out. (4 of 5) Service: I find the service encompasses a customer's experience - the greeting was warm and friendly. Placing my order was easy. Fyi, you get a discount for paying in cash. (5 of 5) Food: My order of two cinnamon rolls looked appetizing. When I got home - about 45-minutes later, the rolls were still intact. The spiral shape rolls maintained its shape. Both the rolls are pillowy, soft, and buttery in texture, and not overly sweet. Personally, I prefer the roll topped with nuts but without the glaze. The nuts tasted fresh and crunchy. Overall, these rolls were a 4.5 of 5. I was taking some snapshots outside when one of the staff walked out. I asked if I could take an image of him outside the store for social media. He said I could. His name is Burke (sic).
