My wife and I drove 19 hours from Texas to catch our cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. after American Airlines cancelled our next day flight 14 hours before our flight. After the 19-hour, mad dash to South Florida we had about 1 1/2 hours to actually make it to the ship before it left dock. As we neared the terminal the low tire pressure warning light came on in the car. At this point, my wife frantically began calling the large tire companies in the area Pep Boys and Tire Kingdom. None would help us. We knew if we left the car parked for a week at the parking lot while we cruised we would come back to a flat tire. At this point my wife called a small tire shop, Stirling Tires on Griffin Street. Dre answered the phone and after hearing my wife's story he told us to come on over to the shop and he would get us in and out very quickly. Well, I would say 5 minutes is quick enough. Dre pulled the screw out, inserted a plug, aired the tire to the proper PSI, sprayed soapy water on it to check for leaks and we were out the door for $10. If this is the normal way Dre and Stirling Tires do business he and the shop should be commended. Thanks Dre, you were a huge help to a couple of dead tired Texans. read more

I've never trusted the big companies as I've been screwed so many times. Stirling is small, yet busy, and super friendly. I've never commented on tire stores before, but I couldn't resist Stirling because I was treated with such old fashioned honest opinion. They offer full automotive services, including maintenance services, brake service and repair services. I was impressed and that is a rare thing. Update: South Florida Highways are filthy from the nutty drivers causing a multiplicity of the worst accidents outside of Rome. My tire went flat in my garage and these great and polite guys just before closing performed surgery on it for a most reasonable price. They come through again! read more

Really happy I came to this location. They assisted us right away, figured out our issue in less than 10 minutes of investigating the problem and fixed it promptly and for a very reasonable price. They were extremely knowledgeable and explained and even showed the issues so that I could understand. Tire Kingdom messed up a couple of our tires and this place fixed it way quicker than Tire Kingdom caused the problem. Really happy we came here and will only go here in the future. read more

Went in because I had a nail in my tire. The young man that helped me out (Kamar) was honest and told me that I needed new tires. He was not pushy or suggested that I purchase tires from here but was genuinely concerned for my safety. I planned on buying tires the coming weekend but due to his honesty I told him if he could get the same brand that I currently have on my car then I would come the following day to have them change them out. Long story short, he took my number and called me within 15 mins letting me know that he found the brand that I wanted and would have them delivered the next morning. As promised they were delivered, dropped off my car on lunch and was called 1 1/5 later letting me know it was ready. I came out of the Hospital for an overnite procedure, on my way home I noticed the front wind shroud under my vehicle was dragging on the Dr. Side making horrible sound. The next day I stoped by Stirling Tire, the Local automotive place for simple fixes and stuff. Andre, the Manager put one of his employees on my vehicle to fix this Simple Problem. After putting it on the Lift , the work was done in 10 min. I paid 10.00 and tipped the guy 5.00, 2 days later, on Xmas Eve... More Dragging from the same area, I went back and of course they took care of it again. The next day, I went for a ride into Hollywood and 15 min. into the ride, it began to drag again so we cancelled our plans and went home. The Next day I called and got the Owner who I knew and without seeing anything he told me over the phone they could not do anything because the Shroud was to worn out and I needed a new one. I should come over with a new shroud and they would put the new in for a New Fee for a Complete Installation. All this needed was some simple TLC and with a few Wire Ties the problem would be solved. I went back and the owner would not help in this matter unless I paid the more money. In disgust I went to the Local Competitor and in 5 min. they took care of this Problem and did it @ No Charge.....Stirling Tire is an Unprofessional Establishment Selling Used tire to the Local people who cannot afford any better products. I saw Employees Drinking Beer during Business Hours, Swearing and caring on like the Customers didn't matter, Well We Do and this company is one you should STAY AWAY from as your Safety and Well Being is more Important than the opinion of this Owner and Hid Group of Derelict Employees read more

I visited the Griffin location in Davie back in 2012 when I first moved to Florida and bought a Cadillac. I was looking for a reliable person/shop to take it to for service. I happened to drive in to Sterling Tires. Dre IS THE BEST. I knew I picked the right spot cus I saw people bringing him and the crew food in appreciation. He's honest and gets the job done. I would bring in my Cadi baby and he'd give her a look over for anything. Never had a problem. In fact I've recommended coworkers- some of whom are women that are always skeptical of mechanics. They appreciated how honest and straight up Dre was with them about their vehicles. It's not a fancy shop. Don't judge a book by its cover. Judge by its content. Dre is a credit to the team. I was in a pinch and had my brakes done here. There was a problem with the job they did that was found by Pep Boys technician during an alignment - they let me know my brake line was leaking fluid and was almost empty of brake fluid. I had driven about 700 miles since having the brakes serviced. When I called Sterling Tires to let them know there was an issue, I was told "Do you want to keep complaining or just bring the truck in?" First of all, I was not COMPLAINING but making them aware that there was a problem so I could find out when they could get me in, but after having that kind of response to a BRAKE issue that they caused, I decided to go to their other location on Stirling Road so I called them. They told me to come in and that they would take care of me. I drove all the way there only to be told they couldn't do anything because it was raining and that I would have to leave the vehicle. I took it to Pep Boys and they took care of me immediately, even though it was still raining...so, maybe Sterling Tires just isn't state-of-the-art equipped enough (plus, they only have 2 lifts) which judging by the outer appearance of the buildings (both locations look like the buildings should be condemned), this should not have come as a surprise. I do not recommend this facility for service but would highly recommend Pep Boys, where they truly care about the customer, don't give you service with an attitude and make sure your vehicle is done properly the first time. When it comes to brakes, don't take any chances!!! read more
