    Breakfast tacos

I had a great time at stirr in Dallas! I spent the weekend in Dallas and was looking for a Saturday brunch place. This place is in deep Ellum and it does not disappoint. I found street parking on a busy Saturday morning. There was plenty going on, from festivals and markets to people just buzzing around in the streets. Stirr has an awesome mimosa special, I believe it's $15 for a bottle. So I sat up to the bar and got a bottle of champagne. The service was spectacular. I also ordered the brunch tacos, which were on point. The restaurant itself is rather large, and very accommodating. There was a nice lively crowd there on a Saturday. I definitely plan to come back for brunch or for dinner as well. It's a great atmosphere. Wonderful service. And the bathrooms are nice and clean!

The service is interesting - we had a large party of 11 - our server did well, but pulled my food a bit early and I didn't get to finish. The restaurant has a rooftop bar and plenty of seating on uncomfortable seats at the tables. Some are high-tops - and there is also a bar downstairs. The appetizers are just okay...they were small portions and cost more than they should. I had the salmon, and after seeing a few of us get the same item - it appears that it must be frozen and just prepared on their plates. The food itself was not terrible, but it's not fascinating either. The drinks were just okay... a few of us had the old-fashioned. They were weak with way too many ice cubes!

Now this was amazing!! Just get it

Our daughter chose Stirr for her birthday celebration. We arrived on a Sunday early afternoon and it was already packed. To cut to the chase, this place was ok. The food was good but the service lacked, it was a bit slow at times. My first margarita took a good minute to get. I think this place didn't have it's A/C on that hot day, because it was hot inside, very uncomfortable. Not sure we'd come back.

I was really nervous about stopping in to dine because of the rating. Luckily, I took the chance! The service was kind and prompt. We were immediately sat when we walked in. Our food came out mostly hot and fresh...except my potatoes, they were pretty lukewarm. Everything we had was incredibly tasty. Even the ketchup they served with the potatoes was delicious. Nice little spicy kick. I'm so glad we arrived when we did, because the Sunday Funday crowd was coming in and you could tell service was going to run a little slow because our server stopped coming around as quickly as she had been. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

The employees here were very inviting on Sunday night. My husband and I came on the later side after the Cowboys game. We just wanted a small portion and a drink. We got the volcano shrimp and the meatball sliders. He enjoyed the shrimp (I have a peanut allergy, so I didn't try it), but it smelled good. Also the quantity of shrimp was larger than expected. The meatball sliders were decent. I didn't really care for the texture of the meatball. It had no bite to it. But the taste was fine. It was basic. The garlic knot was nice a soft, but the meatball was also too soft, so it needed a crunch element. We wanted to checkout upstairs because we heard the music, but we got up there and it was empty. We ended up leaving to try and find a more lively setting. I bet on a Friday or Saturday night it would have been a better setting. The servers were all very nice and friendly. And informative on the menu. I didn't like there was an automatic 20% gratuity added.

Nice place with plenty of seating. They have a modern vibe with an upstairs rooftop bar! SERVICE: Inside at the bar I had great service. Upstairs? Not so much....so maybe get your drinks downstairs and then go up for the views. FOOD: Their spicy shrimp appetizer was BOMB! Their burger and fries - ok. I should have tried their main dinners (server suggested, I just did not listen) ;) Good music and TVs!

I wanted to love the Haunted Mansion pop-up so much. I was so excited to come! However, it was a little lack luster. The decor that's up is nice but it's definitely not as immersive or overwhelming as I was expecting and just top 40s hip hop was playing, spooky tunes would've helped set the vibe. The specialty drinks were good but not as festive oriented as expected and the menu had zero vegan friendly items. We were offered a stir fried rice with egg which was passed on. Staff was nice but service was so slow for not being incredibly busy. Cute idea, better executed at other places.

Came here for a team lunch and it was good. The place is huge with outdoor and upstairs seating. Service wasn't bad. Food was good, menu has a little bit of everything for everyone. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Came here last week to their Halloween special! The decor was cute but minimal. The service was pretty slow and forgetful (forgot my beer 2 times)- not sure if it was because of how dark it was, but there was only a handful of other people so it wasn't busy. We got 2 witches brew drinks ($14) and they were so good! I'd honestly come back for a nice cocktail. We got the calamari ($13) and the beer cheese fondue ($14). Both were solid, but nothing too good worth trying again. It threw us a little off how the calamari was more like fish sticks versus actual bits. Not sure if I would come here again, maybe for a drink?, but the experience and food was slightly underwhelming.

I would give this place a solid 2.5 stars. I've definitely enjoyed this barre late at night! For brunch, it was a chill experience. The first thing that we noticed is the seats are SUPER worn, like they need to get new seating in here stat! The food was okay. It seemed more like a place to go day drinking than an emphasis on food. All of our food came out pretty cold and the egg rolls were recommended but they lacked flavor in my opinion. Would come back for drinks only!

We came to Stirr on a Tuesday night and sat upstairs. Whew, the stairs. But the view upstairs was gorgeous. I tried the Buffalo egg rolls which were just okay. Someone else had wings which they liked. Our drinks were good. Our server, Aniyah, was new but she did a great job with our party of 7.

TK was our most joyous server so yeah. He made our day! Loved the food so hats off to the chef for the grandest French toast mouth watering artful creation!!! Oh and I must add that the Lord highlighted two fabulous ladies ...savannah and key!!!! Jesus bless them! And bless this fine dining establishment I will not deny the picture of mimosas we enjoyed at brunch time.

We arrived a few mins early for our reservation, and were greeted with the hostess letting us know there is a two hour limit on our table. Fair to give us a warning but when the service is so slow - maybe it's you bro! No need to set strict limits if your service was up to par. We were sat at one table and the hostess moved us to the table at the very back of the restaurant beside the toilets and the busy kitchen entrance. We asked to be moved and they could not find another table for our party of 5. Despite the fact that many tables were open. It's obvious this is a popular place, lots of birthday celebrations and bridal showers. Service was extremely slow as I mentioned. The apps came pretty quickly (thankfully) the hot maple chicken app was very tasty. Wings were pretty good. The main course took so long, we were worried about coming up on the time limit. Short rib has was fairly good but the eggs were over cooked and the potatoes undercooked. The steak and eggs were a similar story, eggs over cooked, steak over cooked and potatoes under cooked. Breakfast sandwich was great. Don't recommend this place at all.

Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

(I rarely post Yelp reviews so that's how bad it was) I ordered the steak frites medium-well (thinking it would probably come out well-done, as most non-steakhouses tend to do). After a long wait for our food (the restaurant didn't look that busy, but maybe a lot of to-go orders?) I received the pictured steak: I'm pretty sure I can still hear it mooing. How anyone could look at this and think this is medium-well is beyond me. I tried taking a bite, but it was so raw it was inedible to eat - I would've been chewing for ages. I brought this up to my waiter, who said he would take it back and speak to the kitchen. My group needed to leave for another event (didn't anticipate waiting nearly an hour for our food) so we simultaneously asked for our checks. The kicker? My waiter did not follow up with me on how raw the steak was and did not comp my meal/provide any kind of remedy. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the lack of follow-through to remedy the situation was the icing on the cake (or insert some kind of raw steak pun). My cocktail (which all arrived AFTER our meals were delivered) was pretty good, thus the 2 stars. But I question why/how my steak was so raw despite me waiting 45-55 minutes for it. Overall, only come here for drinks - so long as you're okay with waiting forever & a day for them.
