I live in a Newton . So my husband and I have gotten pizza here a few times over the years. We love the pizza from here . It's fresh and I love the sauce . We also had other items from here . Like the sandwiches, fries , and chicken fingers , also very good . We have had take out , home delivery , and also eaten inside . The vibe is welcoming inside . The service is friendly from our experience. The delivery service is not too bad either . They have a parking lot in back they share with other vendors . So parking is not an issue . The price is not too bad for the portion size . The place inside is very clean inside . Although it's not too big or a restaurant type . It's more of a take out spot . I don't like cheese. There, I said it. I've been upsetting people with those four words my entire life. That said, after going so long without consuming cheese, it legitimately upsets my stomach when I attempt to eat it. What began as a weird childhood phobia has evolved into an ongoing and annoying dietary restriction to navigate -- especially at a pizza place. Anyway, I offer that preface for a reason. I'm regularly accustomed to asking restaurants if menu items have cheese in or on them. When I called D&A House of Pizza to ask if their meatballs contained cheese INSIDE them, the employee I spoke with said "yes, there's cheese in the sub." Having learned that, I resorted to a backup menu item, told them where to deliver the food, and went about my day. I was not expecting anything beyond the food that I ordered, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found a side of meatballs along with a note (pictured) regarding my phone call. For those who may not be able to see the note, it reads: "My employee on the phone didn't understand your question. Our meatballs do not contain dairy. Here's a sample for next time. Sincerely, Nick." So nice! Moreover, the food was great. The pizza reminded me of this old-school greek pizza spot that I used to have as a kid. It was loaded with toppings along with a decent sauce (mild, only a little sweet) atop a great crust (light, but still hearty and crispy). I obviously can't speak to the cheese, but as pies go, I thought it was pretty solid. Oh yeah, the meatballs were pretty good too. I'd give both the pizza and the meatballs 4/5 stars. On top of the food being delicious, I really appreciated Nick's above-and-beyond service to clarify and provide a complimentary item to accommodate a pain-in-the-ass customer like me -- unprompted! I would have given any other restaurant of the same caliber a solid 4/5 stars, but the service easily wins a 5-star rating from me. Thanks, Nick! :) read more

During Covid this restaurant was a G-D saver. At the time I wasn't vegan, but I ordered my pizza "No Cheese" a strange concept to them, but they still did it. I really like their crust, nice flavor. Salads are great, pizza is really good, even their tuna subs are above average.The service is friendly and speedy in most cases, when they are busy. I stopped in here on a whim as there used to be a market and deli in this block. I'm told it closed 15 years ago. Another instance where I'd like to give a 3.5, sad Yelp ratings are only 5 whole numbers! The friendly service was tops! I ordered the "special" calzone. The peppers onions and mush had been sautéed beforehand and were excellent. The thin sliced meats inside were tasty; however, I would have preferred some chunks of sausage, ham and the other meats. There was no ricotta in this calzone which I really miss. The crust was tender, I prefer mine more thin and crisp with some char from a brick oven. read more

I ordered a couple pizzas from here and some french fries. For me the pizza wasn't good at all. It had a ton of cheese on it. I had to take it off as i was giving it to my granddaughters who are 3 and 5 years old. They would've choked on it. It also had a lot of salt. The French fries were pretty good. I had wished I got 2 orders as we didn't eat much of the pizza. After taking off most of the cheese there wasn't much left. My husband loved the pizza and all the cheese but had a horrible stomach ache that night and next morning. I told him to take off some of that cheese! This a very friendly business, family-owned. They provide great service to the nearby elementary and middle school, and I've coordinated a few delivery orders for school groups, as well as individual take-out orders for my own family. I grew up in Newton Corner and I just recently moved back in the area, so I was excited to be going back to C and N. Been there a million times as a kid. So I hate to say this...but it's awful now! First time back, I ordered a pastrami sub. The meat was soooo chewy, that I had the hold it between my teeth and pulled at it to get a bite! Ok, I chalk that up to 1 bad sandwich, not enough to stop me from going back to my childhood pizza place. The second time, I get steak and cheese sub. Same thing! Inferior meat that is so chewy, it needs to be pulled apart to get a bite! Ok, for my 3rd time, I get a veal cutlet...and I can't even describe how bad it was. The meat was so cheap, the only flavor it had was freezer burn! So I told myself, no more C and N! So now it's shame on me time. I should have known better! So against my better judgment, I get a small pepperoni pizza! They were super busy and I had to wait. That's not what I'm mad about. Usually, when things are busy, someone usually let you know that the foods going to be a little longer than usual, and they apologize for the wait. Not here! I waited for 30 minutes with no one even acknowledging me standing there. Finally, one of them asks me to remind him what my order was. I know he forgot to put it in! I saw a group of kids order a large pizza and they got theirs 10 minutes before me! So that's it! Ok fine! I get the damn thing and I go home. The pizza is horrible!!! The crust is thick and too bready. The sauce is bland and there's barely any cheese and pepperoni. So that's it for me! I will not be going back to C and N no matter how desperate I am! read more

I just ordered pizza from this place a few minutes ago and decided to see if anyone has Yelped about it. Guess not! I've ordered pizza from the great folks at C&N a few times since moving to Newton Corner and have enjoyed it immensely. Not too thick, not too thin, the buttery crust and tangy sauce blend together to make a tasty greek-style pie. I haven't had the pleasure of ordering anything else off the menu, but it certainly boasts many of the mom and pop pizza shop favorites at VERY reasonable prices. The owners are very, very nice and prepare everything themselves. I'd love to give five stars to this town gem, but I feel like I'd need to sample more of their menu before doing so. read more

Quick, good sandwiches and very tasty pizza. The guys behind the counter also knew me by my second visit, and were incredibly friendly. The setup is a little confusing on your first venture into the store, but once you find the menu (hanging from the ceiling) and decide what you want, just step right up to the counter and you'll quickly get someones attention. My son recently move to a big house in Vernon street which is in front of this establishment and I took my son and introduced him to one of the owners (Chris ) who was very nice and treated you like a buddy He prepared a chicken salad with grilled chicken that was one of the best I ever had , with plenty of chicken , we also had a ham and cheese sandwich that was very good and Fresh , with all the vegetables They have all kinds of pizza and Greek style baklava You can park your car in the back with plenty of spaces and enter the place from the back entrance too I heard that the calzone is one of the best in town The prices are very reasonable Thank you And keep the good work read more

Family owned great little pizza shop. Everything made fresh in house. Friday nights they have a fish special with fresh haddock prepared with rice and vegetables-YUM! I have eaten many, many times and the food is consistent and tasty. The owe family works the place and they are wonderful! Special orders have never been an issue which I love because I am particular. Wonderful soups daily and I appreciate that they do not over salt the food. I can add my own salt but you just can't take it out! They will make platters or do large orders with a smile too. This is my go to a couple of times weekly--highly recommend. read more

Ok. This place is absolutely amazing. I'm joining the army and the Military entrance processing station is at the hotel right next door. I wanted to grab a sandwich because I got here early before dinner. $5 for the roast beef sandwich and the thing was as big as my head. Super fresh super tasty, guy inside was stoked to see me even come pickup a single sandwich. Whenever I'm in Boston I'm going out of my way to come back here and bring whoever I can. Very disappointing. The pizza was premade slices on the counter. Came inside after a long drive into the Boston area from New York. Almost took a right and fell down the stairs. Grabbed a couple slices and asked for the bathroom. In a nasty attitude the server, who I am assuming is the owner gave me attitude, gave me a history of how he got sued so no one is allowed to use the bathroom!!! A lie at best and told me to walk next door. Next door where I asked? Across the highway to the hotel !!! And as fast as he told me this the pizza was out of the oven and in my hands. Cold and soggy. Maybe he thinks he can treat his customers poorly due to the transient, off highway, drive by traffic location but that is not how you talk to customers. This place is old school, no fancy toppings, zero ambiance, no HD tv's, just pizza and subs. As far a cheese pizza goes, these guys make a really good Greek style (not too greasy, but just enough), and after going to Bertucci's a few times, you'll really appreciate the value. read more

Today I was working in Newton, just for the day and decided to try this place. I got something very simple grilled chicken wrap with just cheese, buffalo sauce, and chips, couple of drinks. They forgot the buffalo sauce. When I went to pay they swiped my card but the machine was out of paper. He hit cancel when it should've been printing not cancel when the transaction was being processed. He swiped my card again, I asked if I would now get charged twice he explained no but of I noticed it did to call. I went home checked, got charged twice. I then called and he said I needed to come how proof, I live an hour away. I said I'd send a picture on a cell phone. Said no kept arguing and hung up on me. I have never ever had such horrible service in my life. I will never return. read more

The best sub shop in town! My husband and I keep coming back here because they serve the best subs in town. We've been to ten sub shops or more in and out of Boston and we are sub lovers, but nothing beats C & N. the owner is very friendly too whenever he sees my husband he calls him "hey buddy". Personally, I recommend their tuna sub, ham & cheese sub, buffalo chicken sub & BLT sub. their fish sandwich is good too, for fish lovers like me. their baklava is great and delicious too.
